I like how they serve the cream with the coffee. The Bon Appetit plate is where it's at.

Creamy Potato soup with the Turkey bistro sandwich

The place is so cute, and very quiet. Not a lot of business but the food is good. My mother and I got the combo #3 which for a soup and sandwich. I got a Cesar sandwich with tomato basil soup and I felt as it needs more basil but it was good. My mother got the creamy potato soup with turkey bistro sandwich. My mother said that the potato soup had a lot of cheese, but it was still good. There is only one waitress and she's very nice and attentive. I would go back again if I wanted a quiet place to eat and think.

New to the area! My fiancé and I exploring areas and stumbled about this cute little place. I'm glad we went in the place was very cute and nicely decorated. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The portion of the food was good for breakfast. It was definitely a homemade feel to it I will be returning

Tacos were average and service was very slow. I've watched several people who arrived after us get their meals. What a shame and it was a simple order of tacos and a biscuit sandwich. It was busy but still not sure why big orders that arrived after us came out first. When I spoke with the main lady she just made excuses and didn't care about our wait or offer any type of apology. What a shame cause the place had a nice feel to it and the baked goods looked intriguing. Guess I won't find out since I won't return.

Old menu which is also online menu prices on google as of 6/14/22.

This was my first time coming here and I left before eating. This review is not about the food itself but about the prices. See pictures attached for proof. So the menu items online versus in the cafe are VERY different. The prices are almost double what they used to be for breakfast. The Bon Appetit and Original used to be 8.99 and 6.99 respectively. The Bon Appetit is now 12$ And the original is 7.99. You no longer get the waffle as a choice on the original either. I asked for it instead of toast on the original and was told my new total would be 11$. I get that price increases are the new norm but this just felt excessive for a waffle. Please note that the waitress was initially helpful but as soon as I mentioned the price difference she immediately shut down and seemed prepared for me to become difficult. I apologized and left instead because the price difference wasn't her fault. I think the price difference is an issue more people than me have brought up (judging from the waitresses response) and maybe should be addressed by management by updating the online menu prices. It kinda feels scummy to trick people with one set of prices online and then have a different set of prices in the cafe. Just saying how I feel. I will not be returning. Sorry for the inconvenience and bad review.

    almond croissant

Came here on a Sunday morning. It's a seat yourself or order at the counter. We sat for a good 5 mins before anyone came to take our order or give menus. My sister had already been here and knew what she wanted, I picked quickly. I ordered a croissant at recommendation of my sister and a side of hash browns. My sister ordered hash browns and eggs. Our order wasn't big or complicated but it took at least 35 mins to get our food. The croissant was really good, and so were the hash browns. I wish there was a little more portion given though as it looked very small. We didn't want to wait for the check so we went to the counter to pay. We decided to order an almond croissant to go and waited another 10-15 mins. The girl behind the counter didn't seem to have put the order in, as another lady inquired why we were waiting. She went back quickly and got our croissant. I wish I would have looked at the croissant before leaving because when we got home, it was the ugliest croissant I've ever seen. Smooshed like a pancake, barely any almonds, not at all like the picture. Very disappointed. It was a little to heavy in the cream as well. The restaurant does seem short staffed as they have a "now hiring" sign, so if you do go, keep that in mind that you might wait awhile. Personally, I don't think I'd go there to eat, maybe order and get to go.

The food once it comes out is good. Nothing fancy , but it is delicious. They were a little busy but not enough staff. We waited over an hour for pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and a breakfast sandwich. Not sure if we will be back due to the wait but if you have plenty of time and patience then your good.

It's truly such a good spot for pizza and pasta and reminds of me of Jupiter & Pizza Waffles in Sugar Land in terms of atmosphere and vibe. They have plenty of unique options for pizza which I really look forward to trying them all. They also have some other unique menu items too. If I lived closer here, I'd definitely be visiting more often. We had the pickle pizza with pepperoni added on it as well as the totally baked Bolognese. Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the pizza is always as good as I remember it. I had the Bolognese for the first time this visit and it was delicious. A little on the heavy side but it's meaty and creamy with the cheese. Their house-made ranch is something else, I'm more of a bleu cheese guy but my girlfriend likes ranch better so we got that but I gotta say that ranch is reallyyyy good so I'd recommend trying that with your pizza too. Service is fast, you can choose to sit anywhere when you walk in. They get to you fairly quickly. I forget everything else I had in the past, but the service and food never disappoint!

Part…read moreof the Pappas family of restaurant, this is their high end, elevated bbq stop that takes bbq and steaks to a new level. For starters, their HRW dinner menu sits at the low end price wise with a $40 option. Sure you can upgrade to a better steak but you can land a filet mignon on the $40 menu. Appetizers offered include a salad, a queso with sausage and chips and a boudin link. We sampled all. And because I love pork belly added their sticky pork belly appetizer to the table. First off, they don't skimp on the HRW portions. The waitress was clear that the boudin only had one link but it's was more than enough with the seasoned crackers, pickled onions and stone mustard. The queso features beef sausage and homemade chips. And the pig cubes are magic. Sticky and perfectly cooked. Mains too are well executed and plentiful. The steak eaters smiled big and those of us who opted for the triple bbq option were floored by the big ribs and the two additional meats that filled the plate. And than add 2 sides (bring an empty belly and plan on leftovers. Dessert is stunning as well. The cheesecake was light and fresh and the pecan cobbler an artistic delight. Shout out to the management who stopped at the table to discuss allergy precautions staff would take to protect a member of our party and to our super waitress Malaysia who handled our party with humor and kindness. She had a great handle on the menu and continually brought us containers for leftovers. The restaurant itself is relaxed but well appointed in the style you expect from Pappas. Run people!

I forgot her name but she did a great job with a big group of 16; she was really on top of it. Manger came by twice to check and thank us for coming! It seemed a little awkward how long he hung out, because my party was not paying attention to him, I think I was the only one making eye contact. My SIL said this placed closed for a bit and reopened so I'm assuming that's why he was so enthused to see us! They do have a lot of screens & accommodated us on our college of choice game on the TV closest to our table. But it wasn't busy there for a Saturday night by any means. She was very kind and patient with my husbands grandma who mis-ordered what she wanted Ok so to the food....it was just ok for me! I would return if invited, but not a place I would seek out. It's typical bar food. The Margarita was not great for the price $15. Normally I would have 2-3 but I stopped after one. We ordered a Sampler platter - online it says NACHOS, wings, cheese sticks, and o-rings. But when you get there it's SW Eggrolls instead of nachos. Which was fine. But we just thought the boneless wings were alright.... wouldn't go there specially for the wings, the cheese sticks had good cheese pull, but the egg rolls seemed emptier than I was used to like frozen Cisco food. I ordered the Taco Salad had to pay extra to add a meat (odd but ok). Went with Ground beef - it had a good flavor, but mushy pasty texture not typical taco meat. I'm not sure how to explain it....like the was so tiny pieces of meat.... anyways...the refried beans at the bottom were super runny. And the presentation just wasn't great. I ate some of the guacamole with my BIL's nachos and they were just alright also. We walked out of there with 3 people (one was a kid) with a $109 tab - with only 1 alcoholic beverage on it... a little pricey we thought for the quality/amount received. I think it could be a cool place to hang out and watch the games...but it's going to take some menu revamping... Suggestion: Maybe host a watch party? Again our waitress was awesome! Manager seemed genuinely appreciative of our family choosing to celebrate a birthday there...the food just didn't do it for me.

While randomly Googling, I remembered Boondoggles and decided to give the 'old place' another try. My first visit was for a dinner with classmates from UHCL; my second was with my brother. The eatery looked practically the same as it did nearly eight years ago. Its dive bar meets German beer hall vibe is still very much alive, and the place was still bustling with people. I came in with fish and chips on my mind, but a lengthy scan of the menu led me to the Florentini Chicken, while my brother ordered the shrimp po-boy. The Florentini Chicken was really good, and I think it's a solid choice for the health-conscious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly crisp. My only wish was that the entire dish had been a bit larger, as the mashed potatoes were gone in just a few spoonfuls. On reflection, while the Florentini Chicken deserves a try, I'll probably stick with pizza next time. I asked my brother how he liked his shrimp po-boy, and he had no complaints, so I'll take that as a sign he enjoyed it. Price-wise, while the costs may have risen over the years, they were not unreasonable.
