I' travel for work and it's my first time in Lafayette, Lousiana and I totally enjoy looking for restaurants reviews after work and I've been to a lot of restaurants since I got here in Lousiana but this one topped all of them! This restaurant has an excellent selection of food, drinks great service and good vibes! This restaurant says it all on google and Yelp reviews 4.5 stars with almost 1700 all positive reviews! Definitely enjoyed my first dinner here in Lafayette! I sat at the bar so can get something to eat right away! ;-) and shout out to the beautiful Ailana ( bar tender & server and the other staff) for their outstanding service No wonder why this place is always packed! The food is exceptional! I had raw tuna and avocado for my appetizer and ordered steak with garlic potato and garlic bread! Everything was very good!! The ratings says it all-- solid Cajun food for a great price point. We got our dinner togo and it was still fresh when we ate it at home. The crawfish étouffe was spot on with flavors. We're no Cajun experts by any means but it was delicious. Good amount of crawfish and just the right amount of spice. For side, get the jalapeño cheese grits. You will not be disappointed!! I got the fried catfish mon dieu and the catfish was crispy even when I got home to eat it. Good fish fry. My toddler got the fish fingers and ate almost all of it! I just moved into the area and my 1st time here. VERY impressed. Great atmosphere and great service. We just had a few appetizers.. Alligator Bang Bang was very tender and the sauce was amazing. Where do I start...to say the Crawfish Etouffee was delicious is an understatement. It had the perfect amount of heat and a generous portion of Crawfish. My two sides paired perfectly with this dish, corn maque choux and braised brussel sprouts. Finished the meal with the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding. Our waitress, Raynette, was such a enjoyable part of our experience, especially being from out of state. This is quite the gem of a restaurant and beats anything I've eaten in New Orleans. read more

Nola Shrimp and Grits. Get them. I could end this review right there but I wont. Just trust me on the Nola Shrimp and Grits app. I've eaten shrimp and grits at some of the best places in New Orleans and this version tops them all. I'm not kidding. Six jumbo head on shrimp cooked in a decadent sauce served over jalapeño cheese grits. Oh man. My *only* suggestion would be to serve this dish with some sort of French bread. Once the shrimp and grits were gone (5 seconds tops) there was a lot of sauce left over that we would have happily devoured had we had some bread to dip in it. Heck, I nearly picked up the bowl and drank that shit. Again, not even kidding. This dish was the absolute highlight of the meal and I'm going back for it again sooner rather than later. Bon Temps Grill is a very popular spot and for good reason. It's spectacular. There was a 20 minute wait when we arrived around 9 on a Saturday night. I'd been wanting to try this place so we opted to wait. The wait turned out to be more like 10 minutes. Just keep in mind that it's not a huge place and fills up very quick so if you are in a hurry especially on a weekend night you may want to call ahead. Ok, so we basically knew what we wanted to order since we stalked the menu before coming. They were out of the Crawfish Pie that we wanted. Bummer. So after drooling over the menu some more I went with the Blackened Tilapia. This is served with sweet potato mash and one side. (I chose the Corn Maque Choux). The tilapia was fresh and spicy and very good. Not crawfish pie good but good. I liked the sweet potato mash a lot as well. If you're looking for something light and healthy this is a great choice. We ordered our app and entrée at the same time. And began to wait. And wait. 15 minutes pass, then nearly 30. Still no app. Finally a manager comes to our table and apologizes for the delay. The kitchen was backed up it seems. Being the easy going person I am I didn't really mind and was happy to have the explanation. Oh and remember those Nola Shrimp and Grits? He took them off the bill for our long wait. Happy sigh. We will be back. I'm looking at you, Crawfish Pot Pie! read more

Figured new location why not try again. Super disappointed again. the catfish mon dieu was flavorless even the Ettouffee was bad. I added anything I could find like salt pepper and Tabasco to it and didn't make it any better. Shame the two pieces of fish were monstrous and it looked great, But no. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch on our way back from New Orleans. It was Easter Sunday so they were a little busy. Our server must've been new because he was a deer in headlights. We had to ask him 3x to bring us water. He finally did about 40 minutes in. My Bloody Mary had zero booze in it and I had to order a side of Tito's. My boyfriend's Cuban was soggy and instantly fell apart even though it was toasted?? To top it off, one of the chefs left their apron in the bathroom during their break Oh, and we had to ask him twice for a to-go box. When in doubt the Crawfish Étouffée is a must. I am no étouffée expert but I know good food and this is good food. I also go the sweet potato mash, which was just okay, and the corn which was also just okay. Surprisingly the meat pies with the sweet and sour sauces is also really good. I thought it would be 1 large meat pie but it 6-8 meat pies which are bit size and a good starter. Overall this place has some good cooking and they are open late for a meals to go. I wanted to check out Parish Brewing and convinced the ladyfriend and some other friends to go along. They all got together and picked out where we'd eat lunch before hand. They picked Bon Temps Grill. I was just along for the ride so I had zero expectations but I was wow'd as soon as I sat down. The service, the menu, the bar, the food....all phenomenal. As soon as we sat down, the waitress informed us that they had a brunch menu including drinks, on both Saturdays and Sundays that included 3.00 Bloody Mary's. The Bloody Mary was a little on the spicy side but came with 3 green beans, a lemon wedge and a few olives. It's not a Bloody Mary without the bean! They brought us a large piece of garlic french bread to start which is always a nice touch. For an entree I got the Grilled Chili Butter Shrimp which came with mashed sweet potatoes and another side. I got the grilled veggie skewer to keep with the grilled theme. All of this was great. The shrimp were decent sized, came 5 to a skewer and you got 2 skewers. The shrimp had a little bit of heat to them with the chili power and you could taste a tad bit of honey too. The others all liked their food as well which included some bbq shrimp and grits, a shrimp etouffee pot pie, chicken and andouille gumbo and some lettuce wraps. Everything was solid to phenomenal. My only complaint is that I didn't save room for dessert since they had a banana foster bread pudding. I will be back though the next time I am traveling down Highway 90 towards Lafayette. read more

Even though I laughed at how many tourist reviews this place had, here I am adding to the pile. Just like everyone else apparently, we stopped in while in Lafayette for a few days. It wasnt far from our hotel on Kaliste Saloom Rd and as we got out of the car, they were holding the door open for us. Walked in and the other hostess greeted us with a smile and asked if the table by the window was ok. Great first impression as we felt very welcomed. Our server quickly approached and provided friendly, perfectly timed service throughout our experience. The atmosphere is homey and fits right in with the Lafayette cajun culture. The food exceeded our expectations! The crabcake was huge and very tasty. The bbq shrimp were authentic in a delicious sauce. We split the glazed chicken breast and a side salad. Did I mention they make their own dressings! Gotta love that. By the end of the meal we were stuffed and ready to relax.
