We had the stuffed mushrooms and the Nola Shrimp and grits as appetizers. OMG is all I can say. For entrees we had the crawfish pot pie and the grilled chili butter shrimp. Soooo delicious! I don't write a ton of reviews because most places are just mediocre or I'm it takes too much time to complain. BUT when you come across a diamond you have to at least give some props. Hands down, bed restaurant in Lafayette and probably one of the best for service I been to anywhere. I'm originally from New Orleans but live in Dallas and travel everywhere for work and pleasure. Let's just say I try and experience a lot of restaurants. I have been to Lafayette numerous times and never made it to Bon Temps. Ashamed to say.. but now I have. And I it will now be the top of my list when I visit again. The food is really good. But what sets this place apart from others besides great food... they have amazing service. The bartender was great. The manager was even better, the dude was on top of his game. This was the best service from any restaurant I have ever had in as many years as I could recall. And. They have great prices for their top notch food, and half price wine bottles on Tuesdays that you can re cork and haul back with you. Not only that , but they don't raise prices of said bottles , the house CAB was only 18, which means I bought a bottle of wine from a restaurant for 9 bucks. Never ever has that happen. Holy smokes. I love this little place. I went last night for dinner for the first time. The menu! It was difficult to choose as everything looked fantastic. I had the mesquite grilled redfish with red hot potatoes and grilled asparagus and bananas foster bread pudding for dessert. The fish was prepared perfectly, some of the best redfish Ive had. The sides were out of this world. Dessert was great but it was huge!!! The chef came out to ask how the food was, that was nice. My only complaint was the wait service. I had to flag her down to get a refill and even then she did not add ice. So I finished my meal with room temperature tea. Even so, Ill be back to try the alligator! read more

Hands down of the best restaurants in Lafayette. I always bring friends and family from out of town here for amazing Cajun food. The food is mouth watering and I don't think there's a bad thing on the menu. 12/10 would recommend. Especially the boudin sausage board for an appetizer and the banana fosters bread pudding for dessert. read more

This is definitely one of the best kept secrets of River Ranch area! So good! Customer service was beyond incredible and very on point! We had the crab cake for the appetizer and it was phenomenal. My husband and I met Chef Bruno! Compliments to the chef is an understatement. He does an amazing job preparing each item that comes from his kitchen. We also met Wesley, the manager on duty. He made us feel very welcomed! And our server--Maddie-- she was very attentive and courteous. She had reat suggestions and next time one of us will get the meatloaf, I promise! I'm not sure what happened to this place. It used to be really good and recommendable but the last time we visited, we were extremely underwhelmed. The crab dip was fine but the alligator bang bang was awful. It was over cooked to begin with, and the bang bang sauce did not taste like bang bang sauce. The homemade Caesar salad dressing tasted bad, and the lettuce was wilted. I was really looking forward to the jalapeño grits but unfortunately it was more like jalapeño corn meal and completely inedible. The Crawfish enchiladas were probably the only redeeming dish that we ordered. I hesitated in telling our server how dissatisfied we were, but she could see it all over my face. She sent the manager over, who really couldn't give two craps less that we were dissatisfied. However, he did offer bread pudding on the house. After waiting for said bread pudding for 10 minutes after paying our bill, our poor server, after apologizing profusely, had to go to the kitchen and prepare it herself for us to take to go. Certainly won't be returning anytime soon. read more

It is a great restaurant to experience Cajun food. The place is not big, but staff is friendly and well educated . The server recommended banana bread pudding for dessert was phenomenal. Was in the large dining room, with several other large parties. It was so loud, we weren't able to talk to the people across from us. Sweet tea was delicious. Sausage appetizer was very flavorful, it had three different types: andouille sausage, smoked sausage and chicken with green onion. The shrimp and grits was well seasoned. Could of had more grits to go with the amount of gravy that was served. The Grilled Chili Butter Shrimp was yummy, the shrimp were perfectly prepared, but the tiny portion of sweet potatoes was, well, tiny. The smoked Cuban Sammie was lacking a portion of meat. I used to frequent the old location when I lived in Laffy. So, on a recent return visit, we tried them at their new location on Pinhook. It was so good. The crab cake crust was terrific & the sausage board was delicious. Great atmosphere, too. Karaoke was going on in the lounge. The sounds spilled over into the front part of the dining room where we were sitting. They were having a ball. It made for a great Saturday afternoon lunch! read more

We really enjoyed Bon Temps Grill. Service was phenomenal and food was very good. We arrived mid-afternoon, but were still able to take adVantage of the lunch menu. The hostess was friendly and we were quickly seated upon arrival. The hostess brought out complimentary garlic bread. I had low expectations, but the bread was very good. My daughter had the bacon cheeseburger (of course) and thought it was great. They forgot the bacon, but quickly corrected it. It was served with an order of fried homestyle potatoes (unsur of what they are called on menu). I tried their specialty - the crawfish etoufee pot pie. Yummy! The crust was fantastic and large enough to share. It was piping hot, so I had to eat it slowly. It was served with an order of jalepeno cheese grits. They were okay, but could have been a bit creamier for my preference. My hubby started with the chicken and sausage gumbo(he really liked it) and enjoyed the Tasso encrusted redfish (seasonal offering) with grits and potatoes for his primary meal. He truly enjoyed his meal as well. We didn't try the dessert because we were full, but we look forward to returning on a future visit to Lafayette. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Bon Temps Grill tonight and it was a fantastic experience! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a genuine smile from the hostess. Our server, Stephanie, was new but she could answer all of our questions and was very personable. The manager on duty, Tim, was very friendly as well. I have spoken with Christy, the General Manager, and you can tell she really cares about her customers' experience. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing, the ribs were falling off the bone, and my ribeye was cooked to medium rare perfection! We will definitely be back many times!! read more

Well I came here on recommendation from a friend. At first I was worried because I was kind of in a time crunch and the lady next to me at the bar seemed like she had been waiting for a long time for her food. She started being really rude to the bartender I guess cause she was in a hurry. Well he handled it really well and got her out the doo. I did notice that either he was new or just to friendly and couldn't stop a conversation because it took a minute to get me coke , however after that he never slacked up. The French bread they bring is the most amazing bread I have ever eaten. I only wished I would have saved some for my meal or asked for more. I ordered the shrimp jambalaya pasta and it was really good! The overall time was satisfactory I guess the other lady was just rude. Had a great time at Bon Temps Grill tonight! Couldn't decide on pasta or the usual...boiled crawfish, or whatever??? So we ended up here, still not entirely sure what we we wanted to eat. Well our server, Skip, solved all of those issues. He recommended the wine,the entree, and the dessert. Restaurants are a business. And what does a business need? A great front man(or woman). Skip is that person. Everything we ate was delicious,but the best was the cheesecake with blueberries. So good!!! My husband ordered more for takeout. I loved the wine, the stuffed mushrooms, the praline chicken salad, and the blueberry cheesecake. All were very tasty. If I owned a restaurant I would try to hire Skip.
