It is a great restaurant to experience Cajun food. The place is not big, but staff is friendly and well educated . The server recommended banana bread pudding for dessert was phenomenal. It is huge but it is worth to have it. My boyfriend and I eventually managed to finish the pudding, but delicious! read more

I used to frequent the old location when I lived in Laffy. So, on a recent return visit, we tried them at their new location on Pinhook. It was so good. The crab cake crust was terrific & the sausage board was delicious. Great atmosphere, too. Karaoke was going on in the lounge. The sounds spilled over into the front part of the dining room where we were sitting. They were having a ball. It made for a great Saturday afternoon lunch! read more

Was in the large dining room, with several other large parties. It was so loud, we weren't able to talk to the people across from us. Sweet tea was delicious. Sausage appetizer was very flavorful, it had three different types: andouille sausage, smoked sausage and chicken with green onion. The shrimp and grits was well seasoned. Could of had more grits to go with the amount of gravy that was served. The Grilled Chili Butter Shrimp was yummy, the shrimp were perfectly prepared, but the tiny portion of sweet potatoes was, well, tiny. The smoked Cuban Sammie was lacking a portion of meat. Everything was so good! We got the frog legs, alligator bang bang, and the crawfish pot pie- all were equally amazing! Drinks were also delicious, and their happy hour deal was awesome. We really enjoyed Bon Temps Grill. Service was phenomenal and food was very good. We arrived mid-afternoon, but were still able to take adVantage of the lunch menu. The hostess was friendly and we were quickly seated upon arrival. The hostess brought out complimentary garlic bread. I had low expectations, but the bread was very good. My daughter had the bacon cheeseburger (of course) and thought it was great. They forgot the bacon, but quickly corrected it. It was served with an order of fried homestyle potatoes (unsur of what they are called on menu). I tried their specialty - the crawfish etoufee pot pie. Yummy! The crust was fantastic and large enough to share. It was piping hot, so I had to eat it slowly. It was served with an order of jalepeno cheese grits. They were okay, but could have been a bit creamier for my preference. My hubby started with the chicken and sausage gumbo(he really liked it) and enjoyed the Tasso encrusted redfish (seasonal offering) with grits and potatoes for his primary meal. He truly enjoyed his meal as well. We didn't try the dessert because we were full, but we look forward to returning on a future visit to Lafayette. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Bon Temps Grill tonight and it was a fantastic experience! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a genuine smile from the hostess. Our server, Stephanie, was new but she could answer all of our questions and was very personable. The manager on duty, Tim, was very friendly as well. I have spoken with Christy, the General Manager, and you can tell she really cares about her customers' experience. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing, the ribs were falling off the bone, and my ribeye was cooked to medium rare perfection! We will definitely be back many times!! read more

Well I came here on recommendation from a friend. At first I was worried because I was kind of in a time crunch and the lady next to me at the bar seemed like she had been waiting for a long time for her food. She started being really rude to the bartender I guess cause she was in a hurry. Well he handled it really well and got her out the doo. I did notice that either he was new or just to friendly and couldn't stop a conversation because it took a minute to get me coke , however after that he never slacked up. The French bread they bring is the most amazing bread I have ever eaten. I only wished I would have saved some for my meal or asked for more. I ordered the shrimp jambalaya pasta and it was really good! The overall time was satisfactory I guess the other lady was just rude. I will say though if your on a time limit you may want to wait until your not so that you can enjoy your meal and the nice people that work here ! read more

Unimpressed. We were seated immediately but after waiting 25 minutes for a waiter to come to our table, I got the attention of the hostess which finally prompted someone to serve on us. The food tasted good but was cold when it came out. The table was a little sticky, and when I tried to slide my wine glass over the base stuck and the glass fell over and the stem broke. They put a charge of $7 on the bill for the broken glass without even mentioning it to us. The waiter barely checked on us. I'm not usually one to leave a review, but maybe management will read this and make some changes. read more

Holy smokes. I love this little place. I went last night for dinner for the first time. The menu! It was difficult to choose as everything looked fantastic. I had the mesquite grilled redfish with red hot potatoes and grilled asparagus and bananas foster bread pudding for dessert. The fish was prepared perfectly, some of the best redfish Ive had. The sides were out of this world. Dessert was great but it was huge!!! The chef came out to ask how the food was, that was nice. My only complaint was the wait service. I had to flag her down to get a refill and even then she did not add ice. So I finished my meal with room temperature tea. Even so, Ill be back to try the alligator! read more

Had a great time at Bon Temps Grill tonight! Couldn't decide on pasta or the usual...boiled crawfish, or whatever??? So we ended up here, still not entirely sure what we we wanted to eat. Well our server, Skip, solved all of those issues. He recommended the wine,the entree, and the dessert. Restaurants are a business. And what does a business need? A great front man(or woman). Skip is that person. Everything we ate was delicious,but the best was the cheesecake with blueberries. So good!!! My husband ordered more for takeout. I loved the wine, the stuffed mushrooms, the praline chicken salad, and the blueberry cheesecake. All were very tasty. If I owned a restaurant I would try to hire Skip. This place is good but not sure if I would change plans to go back. Starting off with the tuna and avocado tartar I was really pleased. Nice light appetizer with good flavor and quality ingredients. I then had the Cajun Chicken at the recommendation of the waitress that took my order. I can see how this would be a good dish but my chicken breast was overcooked and dry. I wasn't able to stay and get this taken care of but I feel like if it was one of the top items on the menu it should be done well. The bread pudding was okay as well. Absolutely amazing food! I was seated at the bar - a fun surprise. My bartender (should've gotten her name) was patient with my requests for food advice. She even shared some of the ways she would mix the sides, breads and delicious sauces and gravies in the meal. I took it all in and enjoyed one if the best meals I've ever had! I began with a local beer on draft, Canebreak, brewed in nearby Broussard by Parrish Brewing Co. The shrimp and grits appetizer was rich and flavorful, by far the best I've ever had. On her advice, I dipped the garlic bread into the roux and man, great call! For dinner, I enjoyed Bon Temps signature dish, the crawfish ètouffée topped with a flaky pie crust. Again, on my bartender's advice, I mixed some of the sweet corn maque choux side into the ètouffée, creating a delicious sweet and savory taste. Instead of dessert, I opted for a whiskey-based drink they called the Creole Cocktail...perfect ending to a perfect meal. Outstanding food, great service, friendly staff. I will be back! I have eaten at this place countless times and except for a time that I made a mistake and ordered the pasta (horrible- leave pasta to the Italians), the rest of the Cajun food has been outstanding!! My last dinner was the blackened Tilapia and the gator bits. All the food excellent, nicely balance and marvelously seasoned. The banana foster bread pudding is too marvelous. We have enjoyed Bon Temps Grill since it was on Verot School Road before it moved to its present location on Pinhook. Food and service were always spot on. On our latest visit tonight it was not the same. Three glaring problems. First, a member of our dining party ordered corn and crab bisque, but the server told us there were no spoons and offered us a plastic spoon instead. She says she even asked her manager and was told they had run out of spoons. If this is was true, then the restaurant has a major silverware problem which needs to be addressed immediately. The wait staff needs to have proper supplies for their customers. If this was was an oversight by an inexperienced employee, then the manager still needs to make sure that the server has the proper tools for her job. In addition, the noise level was way too high. Even though the live band was playing across the restaurant in the bar, it sounded like they were playing just a few tables away. Very difficult to enjoy our meal. Third, I reported to the front desk that the door handle for the men's room was literally on the verge of falling off. It's yet another sign of deteriorating conditions at a very popular local restaurant that we used to enjoy. Not sure if we'll take another chance. Too bad, because the food is delicious. read more

Great local cajun cuisine but Not you typical Cajun restaurant! We eat here once every couple weeks. The menu said that the shrimp are cooked in a sort of barbecue sauce and served with jalapeno cheese grits. Gumbo was delicious good flavor and sausage on a board was by far my favorite. Delicious blend of homemade sausages and sauces. The chard red onion aioli was a great compliment to the sausages. The service was exceptional. Waitress was knowledgeable of all selections. Came here with my son for some Cajun and Creole food. The place is small and quaint. We got there early for dinner and were glad we did as the place filled up as we left. I ordered the shrimp and andouille jambalaya and he ordered the shrimp and tasso pasta. Both of us enjoyed our dishes. There was enough food for a second meal, which we took home. My dish was outstanding with good flavor and the right amount of spice. My son's was good as well and had just a little spice. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and it was a really good chance we took. We started with the boudin and sausage board because when in Louisiana it is mandatory to get boudin. Our was served with a smoked pork sausage and a jalapeño chicken sausage. The sausages were so delicious they practically melted in our mouths. I also ordered the crawfish etoufee pot pie and my lanta it was delicious, a very filling meal. My husband ordered the shrimp jambalaya penne pasta (not pictured), but this was also very delicious, with jumbo pieces of shrimp. From the start of walking in everything about this place was great.
