Place really earned it's stars . Great service . Good job Devan. No IPA put great suggestion on the EPA. I'm a big fan of the red beans and rice and had to get it . Decided to check out Bon Temps on a layover. Had the Alligator Po Boy. Very tasty and I liked the sauce. I would recommend if in the area.

A small unassuming little place that has the best service and serves up the best local cuisine. My family went here on our way out of town after a lovely Lafayette and Breaux Bridge visit. I ordered Red Fish with the Cajun Meunière sauce with jalapeno cheese grits and mustard greens. It was amazing. The chef walked through the front of the house and I made sure to tell him how good it was. $3 bloody mary on Sunday and it was great, too. The bananas foster bread pudding was so sinful and a HUGE portion. My baby ate just the ice cream off the top, but the rest of us enjoyed the ice cream with the warm pudding. Overall super happy and we would come back next time we are visiting! read more

I used to travel along I 10 for business years ago and after my favorite restaurant in Carencro closed I had to seek out a new local favorite, away from the highway where the locals know the food is amazing. I went about 30 minutes out of my way to find these guys and it was more than worth it. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is out of this world. I had the tuna tartare and avocado appetizer with giant homemade potato chips (not something I expected at a cajun restaurant) and it was excellent. For an entree I had the grilled redfish topped with crawfish, along with shrimp & grits and corn. Absolutely as good as any piece of fish I've ever had. Hospitality was amazing. I could not say one bad thing about the food or place. Ordered swamp legs for the table and nothing beats 3 dollar mimosas or bloody Mary's. Great, great, great!!! Ordered the crab cake, blackened chicken pasta, and the shrimp and grits. The crab cake was everything. The blackened chicken with sun-dried tomatoes was similar to Chili's but better, the sauce could've been a little thicker. We ate here back in March while driving back from Georgia, picked out from Yelp reviews of top places as we cruised down the interstate. This is aways off the freeway, but definitely worth it. We started with the swamp legs (how could you not order something with a name like "swamp legs"?), which were great -- the gator was a little stronger overall than the duck. This appetizer directly led into what tipped this place to 5 stars for me. The waiter asked if we needed some moist towelettes after the legs, but alas, they had none. I see him scurry back and forth a couple times, and a few minutes later delivered some cloth napkins soaked in water with a lemon slice, gently microwaved. I don't know if that was just his ingenuity or standard practice, but either way, wow! The rest of our food was delicious, and I even ordered extra sage mashed sweet potatoes to go. read more

Last night three of us went to Bon Temps. I had previously given them a bad review and had not visited the restaurant in nearly a year. After a conversation with one of the owners we decided to give them another try. This had previously been our favorite place and our go to for out of town visitors. We are happy to report that we had a delightful experience and meal. Previous issues seem to have been corrected. Our server was Amanda and she was great. Friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding. For appetizers we had turtle soup (spicy) and two of us split the large crab cake appetizer. Be aware this crab cake has a creamy interior and a very crunchy fried exterior. It's a different interpretation of a crab cake but very rich and tasty. Our entrees were the stuffed pork chop with the sage mashed sweet potatoes, the ribeye steak, and the shrimp and Tasso pasta. All were excellent. The steak was larger than expected and cooked to a perfect medium with an excellent seasoning. Pasta a delicious large serving. The pork chop was moist, delicious, and beautifully presented. Salads were fresh and the blue cheese dressing was just right. Plenty if cheese but not overpowering. We shared a bottle of Mac Murray Ranch Pinot Noir. Highly recommend it. Overall we had a delicious, delightful dinner. If you have not been to Bon Temps or it's been a long time you should go. A casual atmosphere, with a familiar Welcoming down home feel and a menu that makes it hard to choose. Enjoy the Bon Temps! read more

I would say for Lafayette this is an average restaurant nothing particularly stood out, the food was OK, not seasoned as well as I would say a normal Cajun restaurant should be. The food was good but I would also say a little bit overpriced. read more

Tuna tartar: This was good. It consisted of tuna, avocado, and tomato. It would have been great if the tuna was the primary ingredient. Unfortunately the tuna was the garnish to the avocado. House salad. I got this just to be able to try the cain syrup vinaigrette. Highly suggested. That stuff is awesome. Shrimp and grits. My wife says, "really good." I agree. Sweat potato mash. Oh yea! We found this gem on Yelp, and we were not disappointed! At 2pm on a Saturday, the place was thumping, which was a great sign for a delicious meal. Owner came to talk with us and we found out they provide the concession food at the ball park which was wonderful because my daughter is gluten intolerant and ate the red beans and rice everyday during the softball tournament. Wow! This place is awesome!! We first found out about this place on our Cajun Food Tour. They gave us a menu and a coupon for a free appetizer when we left and so later that night we decided to go back and eat there for supper. Our appetizers were c an cake, seafood stuffed mushrooms, frog legs and boudin and sausage platter. Every thing was hot and delicious. For our entrees we had shrimp and grits (2 orders), short rib fricasee and crawfish pot pie. The servings were huge and we left stuffed!! This is the 2nd time I order food for home delivery. The food was all delicious, catfish was superb! The crawfish ettoufee with rice was good, the meat pies are very delicious with the sweet, spicy sauce makes it tastebud heaven. The shrimp, tasso pasta is so delicious that I know I will be craving this dish soon and our shrimp and cobbs salad was fresh and wonderfully prepared.
