First of all, gotta say, I love all the Christmas decorations around the outside. Very festive. We went pretty early in the morning so it was quiet and no problem getting a table immediately. Our server, Amanda took great care of us and the other customers. Her great attitude made sure our experience was a good one. I had the Old Fashioned breakfast with scrambled eggs, biscuit, farm potatoes (phenomenal!), hash browns, and corn beef hash. What a fun place! We stopped in for brunch while in Colorado visiting family. Loved the patio seating since the weather was gorgeous! The menus was so extensive it was hard to choose what to order. I ordered the Colorado Bliss. It was AMAZING!! The real star of the plate were the pancakes! The best pancakes I've eaten in awhile! My hubs hit the Philly cheesesteak. Delicious!! Imagine a world with a little bit more whimsy. There exists a secret garden. A slice of paradise. In this garden you are greeted by no fewer than 18 cute scarecrows and the coffee flows like wine. You are at Bon Ton's. Today, I, Ricky Sausage, dine with my fine family. My wife Beaky and our son Uh-Oh, Sporty and Spicy, and Lil Chile and Maple Sausage. Us Boyz wrapped up the Grassroots Gravel bike race the day prior and we are HUNGRY!! We settle into an alcove in the corner of patio without a wait at 9:30 in the morning. Score! A few of us order coffees - black as the La Brea tar pits. Sporty remarked with black ooze spilling out of her mouth, "perfect for the atmosphere with the quirky mugs." Spicy had other feelings... "I made a mistake. I should have gotten something more exciting." Maple has ordered the House Water. She notes, "Wet and refreshing! Wet like water." We all solemnly agree via polite nodding of heads. Beaky, my beautiful wife, enjoys her iced tea. With her calculator out, she notes, "Perfectly average iced tea. Modal iced tea, above the median percentile." After some light conversations over our beverages (thank you, Bon Ton, for recommended table topics like "What is your favorite thing to do while camping?"), our food has arrived. We are slobbering and ravenous!! Beaky digs into her Southwest Burrito. "If I wasn't pregnant, I'd get the skillet. The medium green chili is spicier than expected." Maple pecks at her Egg Scrambler with a song in her heart. "It feels like wearing a t shirt dress, knee high boots, and an infinity scarf on 2014. I'm dancing to Calvin Harris on the radio." Lil Chile has ordered the skillet (his first ever in 35 years of life!) and promptly pours syrup over the meal. "It feels like a pitbull dance party in my mouth. Pitbull is doing the do-si-do with me." Spicy has decadently ordered the seasonal pumpkin spiced pancakes (PSP). "More subtle pumpkin than I expected. Not a slap you in the face pumpkin, like a dance on my tongue that I will not label." Sporty, hot off an evening of Pueblo sloppers, receives her Huevos Rancheros. "Almost a breakfast slopper. Could be sloppier. The first couple bites felt like a warm hug in my mouth." Uh-Oh Sausage, 13 months young, enjoys his milk and PSP. For the milk, he exclaims, "Ahwowaya!" And as he shoves whole pieces of pancake into his mouth, he can't help but proclaim "Mo! Mo! Mo!" And I, dear reader, have humbly ordered the breakfast sandwich. I was pleased with how thicc the bacon was! It was so crispy without being burnt... Bon Ton, tell me your secret!! An important note - our server was new and she did a great job. A menu this robust demands an encyclopedic knowledge that encompasses every combination of breakfast factorials. She is a breakfast master already!! We are forlorn to leave our breakfast paradise. We leave the threshold and the breath of God falls on my neck. I turn around and the restaurant has disappeared. All that remains is the arch angel Michael with a flaming sword telling me, "Go on, get! Get!!" I scurry to my car with my tail between my legs. Bon ton is a staple to the area . has done well . i don't know if i will be back .. i am in the hospitality industry . i tell my staff NO is not in our vocabulary . i am older and i ask for a half of a benedict which you would charge a little more then half and they said no , they said if they did they would charge me the full price ..... really ....so now i have to take a half of benedict home and we all know what a left over benny is going to taste like . Worst service EVER. We placed our order with Chandler. I ordered a burger medium. She yells from the kitchen shortly after I placed the order asking how I wanted the burger cooked. My husband ordered a coffee, which she never did bring. Additionally, there was a large party whose order was taken after ours and their orders were served before ours. Chandler stood with five other waitresses talking and never came over to update us on the status of our order 45 minutes later. We ended up walking out and she never even noticed. read more

This was a gem that was found by default as the other restaurant we tried to go to was too busy. Everything we ordered was delicious and the food came out rather quickly, despite business picking up. Our entrees consisted of a breakfast burrito, smothered with pork green chile, with the crispiest hash browns. That dish was outstanding in every way; the green chile reminded me of my grandmother's. The chef salad met expectations. The kids shared the two+two+two meal and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The pancakes were fluffy and tasted amazing with the hint of vanilla. Ive gone to Bon tons quite frequently and the past two few times have been terrible. The service has been all over the place and the time before last our orders were wrong. The server was somewhere else and we had to ask over and over to get what we ordered. This past time we came, sat down, and ordered. We watched another table who came in after we ordered receive their food first. I understand that some food comes out faster than others but it should not take almost an hr for an omelet and hash browns. The hash browns were ordered extra crispy and the look liked they left that part off the plate. The omelet looked like it was cooked yesterday and reheated.The food was very greasy and cold. The kitchen was so slow and the food was bad enough our server apologized several times. She also expressed that the dinning room was full of complaints. Completely unacceptable. All in all 2 breakfast plates with a tip was just about 50 dollars. This is the last time I will waste money there. This is a classic spot for brunch in Old Colorado City! My husband grew up coming here with his grandfather and has always loved it. We sat outside on the patio on a warm summer day and it was lovely. Thankfully, the tables have umbrellas because it can get pretty hot without shade. We were able to come on a weekday around 11am and didn't need a reservation, we were seated right away. Service was slow at times but we weren't in a hurry, so it was alright. I wanted to order something with green chile, so I got the 26th street scrambler with a side of hashbrowns. I liked the spicy flavors from the green chile, jalapeños, and pepper jack! The serving size of food was large and definitely filled me up. They came by to fill our drinks once but we would've appreciated refills more often since it was pretty hot outside. We had read great reviews about this place and were really looking forward to it, but we had a very unfortunate service experience. Our server, I didn't get her name, I guess woke up on the wrong side of the bed, was complaining loudly about something when she came to our table and was curt with us while taking our order. We didn't see her at all for 30 minutes, but when we asked the manager if our boys could get their lemonades, our server suddenly materialized and was all smiles, said she was just getting their drinks (after 30 minutes). In the meantime 3 parties were seated, served their food, and left while we hadn't gotten our drinks. The manager asked us what we had ordered, she pulled the ticket and two of the four food orders were wrong, we can only assume the manager went in and put a correct order in for us right then, the food came out pretty soon thereafter. The server came out again and said she was upset because other servers were taking her tables. After eating we waited for our server to reappear, she didn't, and we had to go inside to request the check. We still left a tip because we're not jerks, but the whole ordeal took about 1.5 hours out of our life. We're new to the area and we finally decided to try this place. However, we were very disappointed. I only gave 1 star because of the location and the patio. We ordered the stuffed French toast, scrambled eggs, and veggie sandwich. The eggs were in pieces and very rubbery, we did not eat them. The French toast had decent flavor, but they were so soggy. We wanted to eat inside because it was too warm outside, but the tables were all dirty, and everything looked messy, and unappealing. The bathrooms smelled and were messy as well. We had a great experience here. We were actually on our way to get breakfast on a Sunday morning at a different place, and we passed by this place and decided to stop. The food was good and the service was very friendly and efficient; not a 10 for the service, but definitely between 8 and 9. I had the tamale breakfast which is not a traditional breakfast, it is a pair of tamales with green chilli and eggs. I thought it was very good (see photo). The others folks in my party went for more traditional breakfast and they liked it. Chaos. Absolute chaos. I was seated near the cashier, and she was really pushing people to leave tips. Don't get me wrong, tips are important but she was super pushy. Then, I ordered a skillet. Chicken skillet with green chile. So why was there additional cost for hash browns? If I hadn't ordered them, the whole dish would have been 2 eggs and a few slices of chicken with nothing else. For a skillet?!? They forgot the green chile, I had to ask for it (side note- the hottest was super mild). Two other customers had issues during the time as well. My Cobb salad was ok.
