This places needs an updated review. Me and the hubs came in on a weekday around 7pm and I was honestly shocked to see that there wasn't a soul in the dining room. You would think service would be good but it actually wasn't! The service was mediocre and we didn't get any drink refills. We were there approx 45 mins to an hour and only one other table came in and sat down. That table actually left before us because our service was that slow. This spicy did not come to play with you, it wants to make sure you never forget the time your taste buds mutinied and wanted to jump right off your tongue into your water glass. All that said, the flavor is delicious. *The spicy Korean chicken tacos, however, are not spicy at all. Or maybe my taste buds were destroyed from the chicken strips. Tasty, just not spicy. *The Shrimp Shumai was my husband and son's favorite dish, by far. They finished this in mere minutes. *The Pork buns were decent for me. Again, my boys loved them. *Lastly, the Udon Noodle Soup. DELICIOUS. *Dessert! I almost forgot. Definitely try the Korean Fried Doughnuts. Delightful. Overall, GREAT FOOD. Absolutely amazing! This place knows what they're doing best chicken wings I've had in a long time. They're huge and so crispy even when we took them home and refrigerated them the next float we're still crispy without even heating them up. Everything we had was a 10/10! When they tell you it's spicy they mean it but we love spicy so if you want your sinus cleared get the hottest one they have. To be quite honest I had higher expectations for Bonchon. I always get excited about Korean and when I saw the menu I was sold. We went to the restaurant and it was a decent ambiance but lacked some soul like music. The service was decent, not bad but not great. I ordered takoyaki which is a Japanese dish and wanted to try Tteokbokki. However, when the food arrived I was a bit disappointed. The takoyaki was a little bland but enjoyed the chunks of octopus. I've been here twice when I visited my folks for the holidays. The first time I went, there was K-pop music playing in the background, which was kind of cool. It is located in the plaza where Walmart is, but we like to park in the smaller plaza in the back where the groomers and other small businesses are. (Easier to find a spot and less hassle.) Service has been pretty good here. The fried chicken is the signature dish and they offer it three different ways with different sauces. I've only tried the soy garlic and sweet and spicy, but both are good. Outer coating is crispy and a generous amount of sauce. Chicken is cooked properly and is moist. Bonchon Chicken should honestly be called Bonchon Pork Belly Buns because their buns stole the show!! The Pork Belly Buns were absolutely amazing! The balance of the pork belly, sauce and the vegetables made it super delicious. It was 9.95 well spent! We also ordered Boneless wings plate with Spicy chicken and Soy Garlic chicken. Both were delicious and paired very well with the pickled radish side. It's not the best Korean chicken I've had but it's definitely yummy. The Bulgogi Korean Tacos were also a great addition to our meal. The flavors balanced super well together and for $10.95 it is super super filling! The sauces on the tacos honestly made the taco a 10/10 for me. Overall, the meal and service were both pleasant but I'd suggest having smaller portions for a cheaper price for some items. I really wanted to try more things on the menu but most items were $10+ and came with big portions when they could do well as an appetizer or side item. I think if they changed their menu up a little bit, it would allow more flexibility for the customer on what they want to order. Surprisingly the chicken was not the star of the show so I'd also like to see them improving on the quality of their chicken dish since it is called Bonchon CHICKEN. We ordered the Takoyaki (Fried octopus dumplings drizzled with Japanese mayonnaise, Katsu sauce and sprinkled with bonito flakes), a glass of Korean plum wine, and a glass of Korean raspberry wine until we came up with our to-go order. I got the small wing order (10 pieces), which was half soy and garlic and half spicy with pickled radish and kimchi. OMG the chicken was delicious. Light yet extremely crunchy! It's made per order, so you will wait about thirty minutes. The kimchi and pickled radish were also good, but nothing to rave about. My boyfriend did the Bull Dak (Spicy chicken stir-fried with rice cakes and Bonchon Signature Hot Sauce, topped with thinly sliced scallions and mozzarella cheese. Served with white rice.) Realized it had been years since we visited, so decided to give it a shot for takeout and boy are we glad we did, as two days later we are still loving the leftovers and enjoying those sweet and spicy sauces! Fantastic option for a family take out night, as their family of four meal has plenty of food to share and you can mix and match sauces without having to pay any up charges. Food was ready when we scheduled it to be picked up and it was nice and hot and ready to enjoy with plenty of condiments and silverware. Had dinner and it was at best so so. The octopus dumplings were good a bit mushy in the inside. The chicken slider was good but the chicken was cut wrong to thick and narrow. 1/2 the bun was unused. The bibimbop while had the promise of a egg yoke and a hot bowl. The bowl was not hot enough to crisp the rice not cook a yoke. The bibimbop had some good veg, a ton of rice and about 2 oz of bulgogi. The shrimp shumai never made it to the table. We felt sorry for the wait staff that was clearly underhanded. read more

I heard about BonChon on the radio and I'm sure glad I did. It's tucked away in a huge shopping center so if you don't see it at first, don't lose hope. Food: Outstanding! I ordered the chicken tenders. Half spicy and half Asian garlic (I think). The spicy is no joke. Different from a buffalo type spicy, this is like eating sweet fire. It burns but it burns so good. The garlic was the perfect remedy for the spicy. I would absolutely get this again! My wife got the bulgogi and loved it. Hefty portions and delicious tender meat. I will mention she grew up (until she was 9 years old) in Korea so the fact she loved her dish is saying something! Lastly, the potstickers as an appetizer were perfectly cooked and not soggy like some places. Service: This is what put it over the top for me. Dining with a newborn can be tricky but they were more than accommodating. Our waiter was fantastic. I'm not too critical of service but it's rare when I'm this surprised how well the service was! The restaurant itself is clean and the service for takeout was about average. I had the half and half wings (half spicy/garlic soy) and the bulgogi beef fried rice. The wings were everything with the garlic soy being my favorite but the rice I felt was good even though I couldn't really taste the beef. Since this was my first time having bulgogi beef, I wasn't sure if the meat was supposed to be so small and because of that it kind of lacked flavor. This is my first time here and I ordered the Bull Dak. It says Spicy and has 2 flames but it should have 4 flames. The flavors on it were excellent but it is extremely spicy. If you are someone who does not like spicy food please do not order this as it is hard to enjoy your food when your tongue is on fire. I like trying new things and I have a high tolerance for pain and I do enjoy spicy food but this was beyond that. I couldn't even eat all of it and contemplated if I wanted a to-go box. You would think I would give a lower star rating but I don't blame the staff for the menu not being accurate. The waitress did ask if I wanted it made as is and I said yes. I was surprised at how the inside looked compared to my expectations. It's really really nice. Nice bar. TV's on a few walls. And outside sitting. Started with the calamari which looked a lot like onion rings when placed on table. They were the most tender I've had and while I was disappointed that no sauces came with it they have a sauce built in. A little sweet. On to the chicken strips. Lunch menu gives you 8 nice size pieces of chicken and a side. I will say the chicken looked better then it tasted. The coating and the sauce had great taste and texture.
