I've been here several times and have to day when they say spicy they mean SPICY. The wings of course are what most people come here for because they're crispy and spicy. But I also have really enjoyed their other dishes. The seasoned fries with spicy mayo is a must. Tacos are a solid choice, and I recently tried the Bull Dak and it was really good. Spicy chicken, grilled onions, rice cakes, covered in mozzarella with a mound of rice served on a sizzling platter it's super yum. And also super spicy. My lips were literally tingling for a good half hour after eating the dish. The rice got a nice crunchy fried bottom from the hot plate. And I usually don't like onions but these onions were cooked and grilled really soft and added to the dish really well. Definitely worth a stop, be prepared for a little wait for the chicken as it's prepared to order. And make sure you get dessert at the bakery in the plaza afterwards! read more

Disappointed. The katsu chicken was dry and seemed like it was refried. The soy garlic fried chicken was salty and lacked flavor.

I have to get wings from here weekly. I love chicken wings in general but I will without hesitation say this place has THE BEST wings you will ever eat! They come in two flavors, spicy and soy garlic. I sometimes find spicy to be too hot, but there's so tasty that you can't stop eating them. Food was mediocre for the price. We also told them not to add sesame seeds to one of the dishes due to allergies, but they added anyhow and it was too far to go back to complain or request a new dish. Half and half boneless chicken was ok, but the bulgogi and other chicken dish were not flavorable. Hope other bonchons are better than this one as it was our 1st experience after hearing favorable reviews for this franchise. I really like the food. The problem is service widely varies from just okay to pretty awful. Staffing issues maybe? They also seem far too concerned about being on the phone for to-go orders and less concerned with customers in the store. During my visit back home, my group and I decided to stop by Chinatown to check out Bonchon. Ordered the half and half which came with 5 soy garlic and 5 spicy small wings along with some seasoned fries. The staff was super friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The breading on the wings had the perfect amount but the spicy was a bit too hot for me to handle. I honestly enjoyed the soy garlic much more because it had a nice sweetness to it. My friend got the spicy drumsticks and they were huge! 5 is def enough for one person. Overall, would recommend if you're looking for some wings! read more

I would not order chicken to go. It came soggy and not crispy due to condensation build up in the containers. They tried to poke holes in to let chicken cool but it did not help and when I brought the fried chicken home it was more like soggy chicken that was barely crispy. What happened to the original Bonchon chicken recipe??? I live closer to the Schaumburg location and used to go there. But the last two times to Schaumburg, I got sub-par chicken. The recipe was completely changed. No more of the light, crispy, juicy, airy chicken. I heard the location changed owners. Because of this disappointment, I decided to travel further to Glenview Bonchon hoping they still did it right. What a huge disappointment to find that they have the same terrible chicken as Schaumburg. Now I wonder if Glenview and Schaumburg have the same owners who have butchered the Bonchon name. Warning to everyone, this place does not have the real Bonchon chicken. They have chicken that tastes like every other chicken place. Anyone who has had the real Bonchon knows what I'm talking about. Had the unfortunate experience of ordering food from here through door dash. Long story short I was delivered food that was not even close to my original order. I called Bonchon to see if I could find out what had happened but was basically greeted with unfriendliness and overall attitude that they were upset that I was upset. Not one ounce of effort was made to resolve my issue. I kindly asked if they could check what the order door dash sent them so I could find out who was responsible but basically had the phone hung up on me instead. I feel bad giving out 1 star but the attitude and unfriendliness by the employees that were working there 9/24/2020 at 1137pm honestly deserved 0 stars. We called in a carry out just after 5PM on a Friday night. They provided a 40 min wait time. When we arrived, it was already packed with diners and a lot of phone order receipts on the front counter. The front counter staff was super busy taking phone orders and attending to walk-ins and those picking up orders. We picked up our trays of 30 Spicy and 30 Garlic Soy wings that came with a small container of pickled radish and coleslaw. With such a big order, we could have used a few more containers of those sides. The chicken wasn't sticky like other Korean Chicken places and it was definitely crispy! Some of the Garlic Soy wings had more flavor than the others. While some lacked flavor, the good ones in the batch were very delicious. Everyone that ate the spicy wings said they were a strong level of spicy, but loved every bite. We'd be back to dine in to get the full experience next time. read more
