Totally worth the price (ended up being about $50 for the KBBQ and a pop, gratuity is automatically included). The staff were pretty quick getting all of our food orders out. The meat came out in small portions which I thought was perfect for all you can eat. I appreciated the set up because the meat wasn't sitting out buffet style (that would've been gross) and we didn't have any meat go to waste at the end. I also liked that they came to switch out the hot plate after like forty five minutes or so. The plate gets covered in some of the marinades and it was nice to have a clear one. Good touch! I was impressed at the meat selection. I haven't had KBBQ elsewhere, so I'm not sure how it compares, but there were so many different things to try. The tablet had photos of each item, which was extremely helpful as someone who isn't super familiar with KBBQ. They had a reference poster on the wall with all the different cook times, so I didn't feel totally lost with the hot plate. My tongs didn't completely close which made it difficult to pick up the thinly sliced meat, but it wasn't completely prohibitive and I'm sure I could've asked for different tongs. My favorite meat by far was the garlic shrimp. I also enjoyed the pineapple. I couldn't find the tofu on the tablet, but I wasn't dying to try that so I wasn't too torn up about it. I tried so many beef and pork items in all different cuts and I liked all of them. The only thing I would change would be the sauce bar and pricing clarification. I liked that they had a whole sauce bar with recommended sauces and flavor combinations. However, the posters for the sauce recipes were behind the vegetables/premade sauces and almost all the sauce recipes required soy sauce or sriracha which were at the beginning of the sauce bar. Because there was a perpetual line at the sauce bar, I had to get back in line to get my soy sauce and sriracha. Not a big deal, but sort of confusing. I also would not recommend getting any of the appetizers at the sauce bar, they seemed like they had been out for a while. Also not a big deal but sort of confusing were the prices online and on the poster outside the restaurant very largely say "LUNCH 22.99" and "DINNER 33.99" but the lunch deal is just for week days. Weekend meals are dinner pricing all day. The posters say this in small font, you just have to look closely. The buckwheat noodles are very chewy and served with pickled white radish slices and julienned cucumbers, half of a hard boiled egg, and 2 thin slices of beef brisket. Note: the Korean buckwheat noodles in this soup are slight translucent and chewy, and not the same type as the Japanese buckwheat noodles, which are not as chewy. The noodle soup is accompanied by 2 bottles sauces: hot/spicy yellow mustard and vinegar to add per your desired spice and sour level. The soup was light, slightly seasoned with a hint of sour and savoriness. We also ordered the jap chae glass noodle stir-fry which was delicious, but it was lacking in beef and a bit too oily. It had a few slices of red bell pepper, yellow onions, and green onion /scallions. The glass noodles are made from sweet potatoes and are chewy in texture, but not as chewy as the buckwheat noodles. The galbitang short beef rib soup (#26) is a light soup served hot (not spicy) with a few pieces of beef short ribs, glass noodles, white radish, and egg drop. King's Restaurant has reduced their portion of glass noodles in recent years and it's lacking substance to fill the tummy, especially with an increased price of $21.95. They do give a small bowl of white rice and 4-5 types of banchan (side dishes, like Kimchi, blanched bean sprouts, fish cake, kimchi cucumbers, blanched broccoli). Service is on the most part friendly and semi-attentive, depending on the server and if they're busy. King's is recently (2026) charging for their buckwheat Korean tea, which was previous complimentary. Ambiance is casual with booths and tables. They can host larger parties, up to 8 or so people, but it's best to call ahead to check. Free parking is plentiful, but it can get filled on the side lot nearest to the restaurant when it's busy. There's another larger parking lot adjacent to the restaurant that is never completely filled so parking should not be an issue. Would I go again-maybe. Their increased prices and smaller portions (jap chae with almost no beef and noodle dishes with a small portion of glass noodles), it's starting to give me pause, especially when I have other choices of Korean restaurants in the Twin Cities. King's is by far the most expensive Korean restaurant in the Twin Cities and their portion sizes are shrinking to where the value is lacking, especially if you're really hungry.

It is easy to find a good bowl of Pho just about anywhere but rare to find authentic Bo La Lat, Bánh xèo, Nem Nuong, or Bun Cha Hanoi as they have here. There are many places that attempt to imitate but really don't succeed. This place nails it. A more authentic Bo La Lat I have not had even in Ho Chi Minh City! 5 stars for that menu rendition alone! In addition to a solid set of classic dishes (don't miss the japche!), Minari offers fusion-y goodness and modern twists on old favorites. For instance, a crushed cucumber banchan got its heat from horseradish. Our meal began with a welcome cup of roasted corn tea, which was quite lovely and whetted our appetite. We got the potato salad, japche, and tempura for our starters. It's hard to pick a favorite, it truly is. The japche was spot on: the flavors and textures were just what I remember from my time teaching in Seoul, and I liked that the noodles were extra-thick. The tempura was exceptional--the batter is light, the veggies tender, and the off-the-chart crunch memorable. The sesame sauce? Sublime. The potato salad was unique in a wonderful way: kewpie mayo (of course!) with miso, crunchy celery, chervil, and negi green onions. Don't miss that one, either. For my main, I got the Dan Dan madalfine: an extra-long noodle with a ruffle edge that came with sesame sauce, chili crisp, king oyster mushrooms, and baby bok choy. It was extra-delicious: I highly recommend it. The portions are quite generous, so you'll have tomorrow's dinner all ready. Dessert was another highlight. My friend ordered the Yam Roulade (I might possibly have applied a bit of peer pressure because I wanted to try it). It was very, very good: it will remind you a bit of a pumpkin spice cake, but it has a slightly firmer crumb and doesn't have the squash undertones that pumpkin desserts sometimes have. Poached pear, honeycomb, and vanilla gelato stacked on additional flavors and textures. It was really very delicious. You may be wondering why I didn't order it myself. Well, I was highly intrigued by what I did order: the dalgona miso caramel tart. (You had me at dalgona, but add miso and caramel? I could probably be lured into an unmarked van with that.) It was very delicious: balanced, unique, and rich (I had to tap out on the few bites, so I guess I have dessert handled as well). The tart itself was not too sweet, with saltiness and bitterness adding balance. The creamy whipped mascarpone helped cut the richness, and the sesame crisps added another layer of texture and flavor. The strawberry compote was absolutely joy-inducing. A final shout-out for the non-alcoholic beverage options: they were great! I got to try two of them, the chosun and the wangja. The former is a perfect summer drink: sweet-tart and refreshing, it has just a touch of heat from the gochijang honey. Think paloma's sister who went off to study art overseas and came back full of stories. The wangja was more on the bittersweet end of things and went very well as a meal-end digestif. The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!
