Great spot for takeout and big dining room for eat in. I have been ordering pick up from here for months but finally went in for dinner. The good: the food. The chicken quickly became a takeout favourite with near weekly orders and the noodle dishes are also a solid option. If eating in, the restaurant also has a lot of seating, indoor and outdoor and a lager bar with good happy hour specials. The bad: this is kind of an odd complaint but their Korean hot chicken seems very much like buffalo chicken, which is hot but not Korean. I don't know if this is true but I know each time I've eaten it the hot chicken has been good but reminiscent of traditional hot buffalo wings.

A modern, chic restaurant serving popular Korean food. Korean Fried Chicken, and they also have Bimbimbap. I ordered a Korean Fried Rice with added spicy chicken. They do not have a physical menu. They have QR codes on each table and you will need to scan the code and order via your mobile device by opening a tab to your credit card. Receipt is also sent to your email.

Satisfied my late night chicken cravings here! This is a casual eatery with bar seating available. Service might feel slow, but be patient with the chicken - it's worthwhile! We started off with takoyaki - not bad. Then the holy grail of the evening finally came: Crispy, hot, juicy, and tender chicken coated in a delightful soy garlic glaze! The sweet tanginess of the accompanying pickled radish cut into the heaviness of the fried chicken.  Their KFC hits the spot!

The Yangnyeom wings are phenomenal! They are sweet yet savory and I would definitely get them again. The tteokbokki was too sweet. It tasted like ketchup. Staff is friendly and prompt per usual.

Food was amazing and fresh! I ordered online for pick up. The pick up time was 12:21pm! The food was ready at 12:17pm, Hot and ready! Service was amazing Easy to order online. Pick was easy as well!

This place easily has a top 5 happy hour in Navy Yard. The place was empty on a Thursday after work so the service was super fast. I am a fan how you just order and pay on your phone. The food options are pretty big and the drink options are not bad. If you want a happy hour off the main area this is the place to go.

Dropped back after a Nats game while waiting for an Uber. Had a drink at the bar. I ordered using the QR code. The drink was made and served very quickly. The staff was attentive, even though you did not order with them. I had a cocktail made with soju and it came with a candy on the side. It was tasty and reasonably priced.

After an awesome baseball game, I decided to hit up Bonchon, just a 5-minute walk from the stadium--a super convenient spot for a quick bite. Even with the post-game crowd, I was surprised at how quickly we were seated and our order taken. It was my first time at Bonchon, but I'd heard great things about their wings. I went with the soy garlic wings and some fries. Let me tell you, these were the BEST wings I've ever had. Crunchy on the outside, fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside, and the soy garlic flavor was out of this world! I'm definitely coming back to try more of their menu. If everything else is as good as the wings, I'm in for a treat!

I really enjoyed my experience here. I understand why people love their chicken. Lol The atmosphere is chill and relaxed. It's not loud at all. It's in a busy area where lots of people work so...it's super convenient for lunch. The prices were good as well. I'll definitely go back for a visit.

Korean style fried chicken had become popular to the millennials and the crave has become, well, common, or routine for many unlike when it was first introduced. Yet, it's a solid grub! 8 wings soy garlic served on me were heavily breaded, not their best... For my visit today, proximity to my work primarily pulled me in and because it had ample seating for good conversation or meeting colleagues and friends, at least in the Navy Yard location. It has more of a bar vibe so seating by the bar is best and better than usual Bon Chons in other locations or in burbs. Service was great for today's visit and I recalled their service was always great particularly when my agency held happy hours in past few years...but it's not something I would go to with frequency. As I said, I came here previously for Hhr but it is a nice place if all else fails...

Chicken katsu

We decided on Bonchon for dinner our last night in DC because my son had popped in there for a late night snack and drink. We arrived about 5pm so the happy hour menu was on. I decided to pick two things off that HH menu-chicken sliders and pork buns. Both came in a group of three. My son, who recently visited Korea and adores their soy garlic fried chicken, declared them pretty darn good and worthy of the title. My daughter ordered the chicken katsu while my husband landed on beef bulgogi. All of our food came out quick and hot. You do order and open a tab via QR code but I find this helpful and not an annoyance. You can also reorder, which my son did for a second helping of the chicken. He also opted for some spicy. It was SPICY! Servers were attentive and things came out quickly. The ambiance is open and trendy. It is a great place to grab some flavorful food.

I will start with the food is good. Service not so great we ordered japchea it was suppose to have bulgogi in it they sent it. With no meat. We called tried to get them to correct it they would not said we would have to re order it and pay for delivery. also we ordered direct from them not third party. We got a partial refund.

Ask the Community - Bonchon Navy Yard

Is there an allergen menu list that includes sesame? I know most of the foods will have sesame, just trying to find something for my kiddo to eat if we have dinner at Bonchon.

Just ask the waiter. I'm sure they'll respond and not add sesame.

Do they use peanut oil? My sister is allergic to peanuts so wanted to know before we try!

Only soybean oil for the chicken. There are no nuts whatsoever in the restaurant!

We tried the coconut margarita, mezcal cider margarita, and the Retro Kitty, and all were really good, but the coconut margarita was my favorite. Our waitress, Mayana, was super helpful, kept checking in, and even let us put two tables together so we could better watch the show. I ordered the Manifesto Margarita while my partner had the Gewürztraminer pour, and both drinks were excellent. The wine selection especially impressed us, and we appreciated that our server let us sample two wines before deciding. The service was warm and attentive, and our server was actually knowledgeable about the wines, which always makes the experience feel a bit more elevated. But honestly, the highlight was the view. Sitting at Pink Tiger overlooking the Southwest waterfront at sunset was absolutely beautiful. The vibe felt chic but relaxed, making it a great place to unwind after a night at the theater. We weren't hungry this visit, but the food menu looked so good that we're already planning a return trip just to try it.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
