Should be around $7 max. Suggest getting this for take-out and you'll be fine. Bad: EVERYTHING ELSE! Service horrible! Bulgogi and kimchee is standard or below. Hipster wait staff didn't know the rotational beer selection, forgot my kimchee (for which you have to pay $3 extra), and meals delivered for myself and my business partner delivered 8 min apart. The décor is plain and you would have no idea that Korean was the theme. The male restroom opens directly into the dining room where patrons at the "right" tables get a direct sight line to the person using the 2 urinals. finally, there are no mirrors above the sink. Just a smattering of random mirrored subway tiles placed on the vertical. If you are a hipster or capital hill youngster and just want to be seen for lunch, this is your place. If, however, you want a quality meal for a reasonable price, you can walk 1 block and get a great, gourmet meal out of one of the many premier food trucks that DC has to offer...and you can take in a little fresh air and sunshine while you are at it. read more

Tons of big screen TVs and the chicken is absolutely phenomenal - you can order the chicken sweet or spicy depending on your preference. The Bon Chon here in Navy Yard looks waaaay better than the one in Annandale/Virginia. They have a beautiful bar and the customer service is wonderful! I enjoyed their soy garlic flavored chicken strips and a glass of raspberry lemonade with vodka! Me and my boyfriend have been on a mini Korean fried chicken tour of the DMV. Daz in Shirlington and Momo in Bethesda have both been great. Then we tried BonChon. And nothing else will compare. The menu is just the right size. Enough stuff besides chicken that I may try, but not so much that the chicken gets lost. The spicy was spicy. It made my nose run a little, which is exactly how I like my spicy food. The soy garlic was amazing. I dunno what they did to make it so good, but I approve. Been to Bonchon in Fairfax, Centerville, NYC, and Annadale before this one. Have to say this is the worst of the lot, not happy because it's the only one that is metro accessible or delivers to my house. First attempt was delivery, wings came at delivery temperature which is fine, they tasted good but the pickled raddish wasn't as sweet and the chunks were not as even as I'd had at the other one. Overall had a weird tastes compared to the ones I'd had at other locations. Kimchee was fine. The wings tasted like they were about an hour old which is about right for delivery, no harm no foul there. Second attempt I we ordered squid balls and a big platter of wings, while at the old Bonchons they make them hot to order here the octopus balls came out in about 10 minutes WAY overcooked (super chewy, not tasty) then the wings came about 8 minutes later, normally it'd be a 30-40 minute wait since it was being cooked fresh in the past, bad sign. The wings tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a while and weren't as crispy as I'm used to. The sauce tasted like it had sank in and absorbed some of the crunch. After I built this place up to my friends this was a pretty big let down. Service was alright, let my water run out a few times and when I finished my beer our server passed by 3 times before offering to grab me another one. We were seated quickly outside, it was pretty dead for a Saturday night (3/4 of the tables empty from 7-8:30pm while we were there). If you have a car stick to the VA locations for sure. read more

We came in as a group of three (including a pregnant individual) to a pretty empty restaurant. We asked for a booth as we needed more space for her to stretch out & was informed booths were only for parties 5 or more. If the restaurant was full, we'd understand, but it seemed like for someone with a "disability" no accommodations could be made. We placed our orders and everything other than the wings were subpar. When asking for additional condiments for the wings, we were denied because it was against company policy. The manager came out and tried to amend the situation but it just seemed as though this restaurant had no interest in appealing to the customer which is a shame. Don't like to be lied to. I've been waiting for my order to be deilivered through door dash. For some reason my order was cancelled. Upon speaking to the manager, Marco, he stated that dine dash cancelled my order. I spoke to dine dash and they vehemently denied that they cancelled my order. Just got off the phone with door dash and the stated that indeed Bonchon never received my order. Just confirmation that the manager lied to me. It wasn't a big deal until Bonchon made it a big deal. I recently submitted a negative review about the service and have deleted it. The reason i deleted it was because the owner (Tom) contacted me almost immediately and apologized for the incident and assured me that it would not happen again. I decided to return to the restaurant and have been impressed with the service and we will continue to have our weekly Wednesday wings. we just love the flavor and we now have almost the entire floor ordering BonChons on the regular basis. I love Bonchon!!! It was our first time trying this place let alone this location. The Korean fried chicken wings are amaaaaazing!!!! Probably the best I've ever had!!!! No joke!!! I got the 10 wings with half and half of the sauces, soy garlic and hot sauce. The hot sauce was FIRE!! I like a little spicy but this was make your ears burn, nose dripping, burn your tongue hoooot. I much preferred the soy garlic. But the chicken is perfection!!! Even with the sauce the skin was so crisp and delicious!!! I skipped on the fries and got the kimchi coleslaw which was also amazing!!! Not really a fan of kimchi but this amazing blend of Korean meets American was on point! The chicken wings come standard with radish which was a saving grace when my tongue was burning from the hot sauce. The bf got the bulgogi sliders which were amazing as well! It comes in 3, but I think we could have eaten 3 more! Service was a bit slow but a female server (or maybe she was a manager) who had super short hair and a wonderful smile apologized to us since our servers were in between change of shift. We didn't even really wait that long after we sat down but we definitely appreciated the transparency! Kudos to Bonchon at Navy Yard! We will be back!!! read more

First time back in Washington DC in over a year. The location was prime, especially if you're situated within the city limits. We were a group of 4, the service was spectacular and quite helpful. We each ordered 10 half spicy & half soy chicken wings and the tenders. The chicken wings were a bit too crispy than the tenders. The spicy chicken was definitely spicy. If you can't handle your spice, I'd recommend the soy chicken. But they tasted amazing. We also ordered the fried rice, the Korean tacos, the pork buns and the special fries. The Korean tacos with the bulgogi were out of this world. For the price, the quantity and quality were incredible. If you're wanting to try a different style of wings, this is definitely the place to check out. Will definitely return back! read more

I live a block away from Bonchon in the Navy Yard location in Washington DC. I have gone there numerous times and have gotten take out numerous times since they have opened. I went in there on Friday for lunch and we ordered our entrees and I had requested extra sauce on the side so I can dip my chicken. Immediately the server said no we aren't allowed to give sauce out. I said okay then I will pay for it if i can. She then again said NO. As a customer the worst word you could say is NO. She said they have spicy mayo, or ketchup. We also ordered the dumplings and they didn't come out with any soy sauce to dip them in, any other "Asian" place has soy sauce to give to dip the dumplings. Then this tall white older gentlemen came over to the table to come to tell me again NO we aren't able to its a company policy. His demeanor and tone just pissed me off. He wanted to explain too me about the policy and the reason why behind it. Well as a customer, nor do i care or want to hear a long story about why you have to say no no and no. He was the biggest douche bag. He didn't like my answer to him so he just walked away. As a manager you need to swallow your pride and control yourself even if you don't agree with the customer. After almost every server-buser- team member was walking around our table and looking at us. It made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome because I requested something. Then another gentlemen came over Blaze if i am correct thats his name. He was nice and respectful and had a great demeanor and tone. He related to us and was like if i could I would but Its a company confidential policy. I get that they want to keep there sauce secret but have other means for the customers to dip. That spicy mayo was gross. I don't understand that you call yourself a friend chicken place but no sauce to dip the chicken in? The first gentlemen that came over was the rudest and the worst listener. He definitely shouldn't be a manager, or stay in the kitchen. He doesn't know how to smile and doesn't know how to deal with customers at all. Then to have the whole team know whats going on at one table and have them make me feel uncomfortable and stare at and come over unnecessary times to check on us. Yes, i am aware I can be difficult, all I wanted was some sauce and the way the 1st manager handled it was wrong and unprofessional. I live one block away and will never go back and i will tell all my friends that live in my building to not go back because of the rude service. I remember on opening day we went for dinner around 5pm. The place was empty and there was going to be 6 and only 2 of us was there and the same guy the tall white older man told us no we couldn't sit we had to wait. He is the worst. read more

First off, the food is really tasty, I'm not knocking that, BUT...the service was atrocious. We had a large party of maybe 18, each paying separately, which is no easy task, but when you are the only table in an empty restaurant, you think the waiters wouldn't have such a hard time, right? Wrong. They started off ok, taking orders on a notepad while going around the table. Put the orders in and when they started bringing food out, it all went downhill. Orders were immediately wrong, portions were super small, and attitudes went up. I ordered the 10 piece soy ginger strips. Easy. ONE item. I waited and waited, asked about it, watched other people get their orders, waited some more, asked again, the manager never asked how we were doing, never approached me to see what the problem was, still waiting on my food. Other people are getting their checks handed to them! I still haven't gotten my food! I had to approach the manager and tell him I never got it and he said "well everything we made in the back came out." And I said "clearly it didn't because I still don't have my food." He was unapologetic and rude. Tall, white gut, bald or balding with a brownish beard. Didn't catch his name, but he knows who he is and how rude he was. So they finally bring me my chicken in a to go box, still bring me a bill...which included 2 amaretto sours, seasoned fries and postickers....none of which I ordered! I took it back to the rude manager and he switched the bill and still had me pay for part of my order! What an dick. I was there for a birthday party and didn't want to leave without paying and having my friend pay the difference, but I was really tempted to walk out of there. It was literally the worst service I've ever had and would never walk back into that particular establishment. I would also advise any of my friends or anybody reading this to not go there, there art better and cheaper and friendlier locations, but if you do go, be careful, check your bill, and check your credit card statement after because that place is an absolute mess. I would LOVE to hear back from someone in management. I will be posting the same ad on TripAdvisor as well because I am that salty about this experience. There aren't many options for grabbing a beer or a bite near Nationals Park, so it's exciting to finally have a Bonchon in the neighborhood. They have friendly bartenders and good happy hour deals on beer at the bar, along with quick bites (I didn't try the actual Bonchon wings, since those take longer). We had the chicken sliders (delicious and crispy chicken) and a few beers before going to a weeknight game, and were happy with our choice--definitely a welcome change from the usual options inside Nats Park. read more

This location is off the beaten path, and not very easy to find. The food is good, but the service is LOUSY! The workers have a terrible work ethic, and never get the service orders correct. As someone who has been eating Bonchon chicken for a couple of years now, I consider myself a faux expert. I would like to start by saying that I was impressed with the attitudes of the young people working there, very friendly and courteous. Now the chicken... I will call it chicken because that is what I ordered, but the drumsticks looked like they came from either turkeys or pterodactyls. They were so huge I could not bring myself to eat them, rather took them to work to show off. The chicken was too salty and the spicy mayo was very very very bland as was the cole slaw. The Bonchon in Hyattsville is more true to taste. I think that people should try a different Bonchon to compare and see the difference. I don't think I will ever purchase chicken from that particular Bonchon again eventhough it is sooo much more convenient. read more

The food is quite good but this neighborhood is full of dog owners who want to get a quick bite with their canine pal. Pretty much everyone else allows dogs to accompany them when sitting outside. But here we are told that our 12 lb dog must sit on the outside of the fence. They werent rude about it but i have a lot of choices in this neighborhood and will eat elsewhere. read more

I usually don't post on yelp or give bad feedback because everyone has a bad day. However, I've been to Bonchon on a few occasions, sometimes I order in but recently I've been ordering to go because of the service. Today I went into Bonchon, it wasn't busy at all and I was ignored for 3-5 minutes, then I asked to place a to go order and without hesitation the tall bartender whom you need to force to have a conversation with you, quickly said we don't do that here at the bar and pointed to the back. I said I want to order a drink while I wait, he gave me the menu and walked away. I sat there for another 2-3 minutes trying to get his attention and finally he came back over and I told home I'm ready to order. After I ordered and paid my tab and waiting for my food he never returned, my glass was empty, he never asked if I needed anything else. 20 minutes later my food arrived he sat it on the bar and walked away without a thank you, without saying anything at all... if this was my first bad experience I would be ok he's having a bad day, but 3-4 times with the same bartender I'm not sure what to think but I will not visit there again. So to the tall, curly hair, Caucasian bartender thank you for my last worse experience at Bonchon. What makes this sad is that I'm a bartender, I still tipped him but I will never return!!! read more

We were here on Saturday night at 5pm. Great host staff, and a nice server. The hot chicken tasted hotter than Arlington, which I've had a number of times. My wife agreed. I love the hot, but it might be too hot for me now. I didn't see Pork Belly buns on the menu. I saw another yelp post that Bonchon is changing the menu, and that is unfortunate that this gem is coming off. The restaurant is nice, although I can't say I love the decor. One thing that stood out to us is that it was incredibly loud. The restaurant was about 80% full, and my wife and I could hardly hear each other, let alone hold a conversation. We were being drowned out by other tables yell-talking. The music was about 50% good and then 50% upbeat electronic that needs to be swapped out in the future. There are just too many hard surfaces, and additional sound baffling would go along way to fix this. Great beer selection. I will come again, but will go the take-out route until I see an improvement in the above. Excited to try the Okonomiyaki in the future, as I make them at home. read more

This place is about 2 blocks from the Nats Stadium. I've been to other Bon Chon's in in VA and I must say this one knocks it out of the park! They have a slightly different menu from their Centreville and Arlington locations (which are pretty darn good as well!). My favs were the bulgogi sliders - the slice of cucumber made it SO refreshing and the marinade on the gogi is on point. The seasoned fries are different from the other two locations. They had a "Funyun" taste to it. If you are a fan of Funyuns, you will be a fan of these fries. Of course their chicken is awesome too, but that's a given! Love having a Bonchon near a Metrorail station. And it's never THAT crowded, has stuff besides the fried chicken too, and good cocktails. All the DC area ones are great for that, and have way better ambience than the NYC counterparts so I'm definitely a fan. And not having to schlep to VA is even better! read more
