The cook was working the kitchen of the restaurant as well as the hot dog stand out front. We had walked across the street to grab a pizza and brought it back over where the cook berated us, making very aggressive comments about the pizza being brought in, instead of explaining that they don't allow outside food. He continued to walk by and make comments to us, even after the pizza was put away, Going as so far to tell the waitstaff not to serve us drinks anymore. I want to give this place four stars, but the service really ruined the experience. The drinks were great, the brussels and pickles were delicious, but the fact that we werent checked on after those things were delivered or that I had to hunt someone down to get our check, definitely put a damper on our time at American Bonded. Its one thing if they were busy, but besides us, there were three other parties, and at least five employees. Our server simply left without cashing us out or transferring the check, and when I had to ask the bartender for our bill, it took him some time to even find our tab. We could have walked out without paying, and no one may have known until closing time. It sucks that the place doesnt feel welcoming or pleasant because the product is great and worth going back for. For two small plates and a drink each, our tab was only $30, which is hard to find. The cocktails were well made, well balanced, delicious and unique. The food was simple but well presented and tasty, and more than enough for the price. Overall, this could be a great neighborhood bar, but isnt the point of a "neighborhood bar" to feel welcomed? read more

Why I've never set foot inside American Bonded, I can't quite be sure. But shame on me! The bf and I were in the area trying to kill some time before a reservation and what do we hear but the calm, soothing sounds of Action Bronson crooning out of a speaker SOMEWHERE. That somewhere was American Bonded and in we definitely had to go. How FUN is this place? Their current cocktail menu is something they call "Get Off My Lawn: A Geriatric Cocktail Experience" with super on-theme drinks like the "Back in my Day", "Ehhhh Horse Spit!", and " Damn Kids Today" just to name a few. I think this is just their winter menu, so get your behind in their quick if bourbon whiskey, bitters, lemon, absinthe, and egg sounds delish to you - this is "This Neighborhood is Changin" - yes it is, and also, yum! Saw quite a few groups of folks having ALL of the fun including our two-top who was way too hype for the old school hip hop blasting out of the speakers all night. When was the last time late 90's DMX (the true OG) accompanied you and your delicious bourbon drink on a night out? Came in during a week night around 8pm and the place wasn't too busy so we had lots of options of where to sit, but by 9pm it was pretty packed. We sat right at the bar and chatted a bit with the bartender, Mitch, who was super helpful/friendly/informative. He helped us navigate the drink menu and find drinks that each of us would enjoy and we enjoyed everything we tried. Cocktails and beers are all reasonably priced and so delicious! Definitely good for an afternoon drink, date night, hang out with friends. They are working on opening the rooftop patio so will definitely be back once that opens! They serve food there too but you have to order at the back (they said this is just their system for now so not sure if that will change in the future). Love American Bonded. I've been here at least 3 times before and I never knew the name until now. So many different cocktails that are scotch/whisky/gin based. Ive had the grandpas cough syrup, which tastes how it sounds. Very simple and a little bit sweet. Today I tried Ape shit and it was delicious. It tasted a bit like a chai latte thats a but fruity. I could have had 6 of them. Other than that their guest kitchen was "Open". I had the Lee sandwich. I'm so disappointed I shared it with someone because it was so good I wanted to have the whole thing. There wasn't even enough time to take pictures before it was devoured. LOVE this little rooftop. The roof is spacious with variations of seating from a railing, bar tops, picnic tables and bar seating. There is a downstairs with plenty of tables if it's gets too hot. The happy hour is M-F 4-7. $5 beers, $6 wells, $7 wines. This is my go to after work hh spot! read more

Four stars because I only had one drink and no food. It was a mellow afternoon despite the football games on TV. Bonded has about four decent sized TVs around the bar area. The best viewing is the TV closest to the entrance. Ordered a cocktail from the chalkboard, solid. Bourbon, vermouth, lemon juice, and bitters never tasted so good. Amazing balance, smooth, and refreshing yet boozy. Well done. I did observe a well stocked bar with Blanton's bourbon, Plantation rum, and a bevy of Japanese whiskeys. This is a nice cocktail spot. Let me first say that I've been to American Bonded 3 times before and each time enjoyed the rooftop patio, drinks and food. Came in on Saturday 2/16 where we were downstairs inside. The place was a mess. I'll name a few of the issues: 1) the high top tables were so wobbly that if you pressed on the table too hard your drink nearly fell off the table. 2) there were spilled drinks on the floor that were never moped up, floor was wet. 3) there is a hole punched thru the mens bathroom so you can see inside. 4) There were some super drunk people near fall-down status in the middle area. We ordered tacos and an appetizer around 10pm so I know this is past their normal kitchen hours but the food was good but so dark we could barely see what we were eating. In addition, the drinks were okay. I have to say the table service was awesome by our waitress but that was the only bright spot. When paying $9/drink I expect the environment to reflect the quality of the drink. This was not the case and not sure I'll be back. read more

Last Saturday evening, my friend and myself, along with our boyfriends, decided to go out after a concert we had attended, and we chose American Bonded, which we have been to a few times previously and had a great time. We arrived around 10:30 pm, and upon arrival, both me and my friend decided to use the restroom while our boyfriends ordered us our first drink. We did not even have a chance to sit down on the toilet to pee before we started getting harassed by two women, yelling at us to "hurry the fuck up" and pounding on the stall door. We were both like "hey we're just peeing; we'll be done soon!" The whole time the stall door was being pounded on and we were getting yelled at. As soon as we got finished, and I wasn't even finished buttoning up my shorts, we walked out of the stall so whomever was yelling at us could use it. Well - it was two black "security guard" females (one about 5'10"ish, and the other probably around 5'5"ish) that were yelling at us and wouldn't even let us wash our hands before starting to push us around and yelling the whole time, and then shoved us all the way down the bar and out of the front door, and proceeded to throw me on the ground! Our boyfriends, who had just ordered our first drink, came running out after us because they watched the whole thing happen! This was COMPLETELY uncalled for, and there was absolutely NO reason we should have been assaulted like that! Be careful - the staff can be dangerous and apparently have free reign to treat patrons however they want with NO valid reason. Me and my friend are white and our boyfriends are black - we believe this was a racist attack due to the color of our skin. My boyfriend is a Denver firefighter and was shocked at this behavior. I have tried calling the manager multiple times, and sending emails without a return contact. Apparently they do not care. read more

Good ambience, a little pricey but great cocktails. I love that their cocktails aren't too sweet and have great flavor. Amazing selection of whiskeys and yummy food. The buffalo fries were delicious and delightfully spicy. We sat in the rooftop bar area which had great views of the sunset over the mountains peeking out from behind the buildings. The one star removed is because of the signage they had placed on the stairs to the rooftop area - it seemed like the whole area was closed but it turned out that only the upstairs bar was closed but people were welcome to sit out there, it took a while to realize that it was open. read more

Came here a few weeks ago and we were seated outside and we waited a full 30 min and no one waited on us. The menu with the QR code was faded and didn't work and every employee just kept saying to scan the same damn thing and it should work. We ended up just leaving without ordering. American Bad Service is what they should be called. Went in because DJ was playing good music. They weren't that busy but to get drinks took way longer. I asked two girls for drinks got completely ignored and other customers got assisted before me. I bartend so I get it first come first serve but I was first. Then what made me not want to come here EVER again was I asked the African American big guy for 4 white tea shots he made them with tequila then when I told him it's supposed to be vodka because I know what's in it. He refused to remake them or even serve me anything else after that. He told me to go to another bartender. That guy was the biggest di*k and I will post multiple bad reviews because of HIM. Every time we've been here we've been impressed with both the quality of the drinks and the service. The bartenders have always been willing to try new drinks and make sure that we're 100% satisfied with our cocktails. Last Sunday we came in during the afternoon and had an amazing bartender (I wish I could remember her name!). She made me an awesome Vodka Gimlet and was super knowledgeable about different types of whiskey. We felt welcomed, encouraged to try new things, and ended up staying much longer than we intended to! A group of my friends and I went here for some drinks and dinner on a Monday night. We sat in the rooftop area. The bartender was not amazing... he was pretty slow with our orders and did not have any urgency to get our orders going. There is not a full bar upstairs so if you want something different than what they have at the rooftop bar, they have to type everything into the system and it took him awhile. The longest part was just getting our order in but everything after that was good! The food came out pretty fast! The food is the reason I am giving this place 4 stars. The service was subpar- but the food made up for it. The Brussels sprouts are amazing. They have a nice sweet glaze. The Colorado fries are also very very delicious and it's a large portion! Good for sharing with a couple people. The Mac n cheese is very rich but quite tasty. My boyfriend and I split the fried chicken sandwich with the spicy garlic sauce and that was great! A very large portion as well!! I would recommend the food, but next time I might sit downstairs to see if the service is any better down there! This is one of my go to places in Denver. The drinks are not only good, but reasonably priced. The bartenders are great. If you want something that is not on the menu, they are happy to whip something up based on your taste or feeling at the time. I have done this a few times and never been disappointed. True West Kitchen is set up in house for some delicious bites when you need them. The atmosphere is very chill. They have low seating inside up front next to a shuffleboard table and a small patio out front. Along the wall they have half high top, half bench seating. They also have a rooftop patio which overlooks Larimer and makes for some great people watching from above. There are 3 strategically placed TVs inside for sports viewing, but they aren't so obnoxious that it makes it seem like a sports bar. They also have a photo booth in the back. Fun. I come here for the cocktails which are around $8-9. Happy Hour prices are even better from 4-7pm. They also have a decent selection of craft beer on draft. Service is always friendly and usually consistent. I will continue to come here for many more good times in the future. Cheers! read more

This is an eclectic place! The cocktail menu reads like the Cruise Room, the food menu reads like an upscale food truck and the atmosphere feels like a loft type sports bar. With that said... we liked it! Our cocktails were delicious and the food was really pretty good. We shared the taco plate and everything was very fresh. I would like to go back on a "eat whatever junk food you want night" and try the frito pie and beer Mac and Cheese. Visited with 4 other friends from out of state. When we first arrived, it wasn't that busy and the tall bartender with the dreads was super helpful. He even suggested places to go around Denver. We played shuffleboard and that was a fun time & the drinks were pretty legit. Everything was great up until the point where the shorter male bartender, (maybe his name is Mitch but I can't be sure) talked down to my girl friend. He tried to throw away her half full drink and when she told him she wasn't finished he condescendingly said "it'll be okay. Calm down. It's not a big deal." Nothing burns me more than a man talking like that to a woman, acting as if she was irrational. That turned the night to a sour point and we did not stay much longer. Probably won't be returning & I'm giving 3 stars because of how horrible the bartender treated my friend. read more
