Hubby and I frequent this restaurant a couple times a year. This time was for my birthday! Came with my birthday coupon and a hearty appetite. We chose the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer to start off our meal. Yum! It lived up to its reputation. Hubby ordered a surf and turf Thermidor with broccoli and sautéed spinach and absolutely loved every bite. Except he said the spinach was too garlicky and he would get something different next time. I ordered the 8oz filet & crab cake with broccoli and potatoes au gratin. They no longer serve the side dishes in small boats alongside your meal. My potatoes au gratin was served as a glob in my plate. Other than the portion sizes obviously being smaller, the quality has gone down. We stopped here for lunch and our meal was outstanding. While relaxing with a glass of wine , they served a hot loaf of bread and a dipping sauce of olive oil and pesto. It was delicious. I had the fish and chips, both cooked perfectly. She had the crispy fried shrimp, large and coated with a spicy seasoning. The side of Cole slaw fit the meal perfectly. And the server, Robert, was attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere was elegant but comfortable. This is a place we will definitely return to. read more

Two starts only because the waiter was great. Their fish was horrible. I ordered some cod with a crab meat sauce. The cod was tough. My cousin ordered the grilled trout and they just killed that by grilling it too long. It was dry and also tough. She sent it back and got grilled salmon which wasn't much better. Background story: My parents just celebrated 40 years of marriage on 12/25/20. Because of COVID, they were not able to go out on a much desired dinner date. After some thought, I decided to throw them a surprise dinner at my place, recreating their first meal as a married couple. The main dishes consisted of 2 lobster tails and roasted lamb. It required planning ahead and working with 2 restaurants, including Bonefish. I called about 2 weeks in advance and spoke to manager Jameson. I explained my plan and asked if there was any way to order 2 lobster tails, uncooked (I wanted to serve them as fresh as possible). He told me it was not their norm but was able to accommodate my request. We agreed on a date and time and I was able to pick up the tails. Jameson was amiable, kind and took the time to explain step by step on how to cook the lobsters. They were pre-seasoned and he placed the grilled lemons and butter in the bag as well. He offered to walk me step by step via phone had I had any additional questions once at home. I followed his instructions and the lobster tails came out perfect! My mom truly enjoyed them, mentioning multiple times how delicious they were. It was a small gesture from Jameson, but one I deeply appreciate. He had a little touch into helping create the perfect night and experience for my parents. read more

It was my first time going to Bonefish but it will not be the last. First, the service was great. From the hostess to our server to the manager who stopped by to check on us, they really did a wonderful job and made us feel very welcome. The ambiance was also really nice. Lighting was dimmed but not so dim that you couldn't see. The music was not too loud to where we couldn't hear each other talking. And the decor was simple and not overdone or overly busy. Now to the food. Oh my the food. We were only out for apps and drinks so we had a sampler platter of bang bang shrimp, seared ahi tuna, and Brussels sprouts. 10/10 bang bang shrimp, 5/10 seared tuna (I had never had that and so I was expecting it to be warm), and 8/10 Brussels sprouts. We also ordered the calamari and again, 10/10. Before this visit I had only had calamari once and I was not a fan because it wasn't cooked well. Bonefish's were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant and I'm excited to go back and try new things (along with the bang bang shrimp and calamari because those are now on my "always order" list). read more

I'm so sad. I always love Bonefish Grill and especially the Bang Bang Shrimp. Eating in the restaurant has always been hot and delicious, which was exactly the opposite of what I got from my carry out tonight. The Bang Bang Shrimp was lukewarm, sitting on top of a bed of wilted lettuce with a soggy breading. Luckily, the sauce was on the side. The Calamari was cold. Everything was packaged nicely, but cold and soggy food. The cole slaw tasted like it went bad. The sauce had that "off" taste so threw that away. Cheesecake was good, can't really mess that up, not homemade or anything. Just very disappointing tonight. read more

Our first time here. We came in for the 3 course Tuesday special thing. I will say, the food was good. Everything else....? Terrible. First - a table of 6 was given just 1 small loaf of bread. This means 4 of us each got a real size piece of bread, while 2 people ate just little crunchy "heels". But, whatever. Moving on. Our drink order was taken rather quickly, and then we placed the order for the apps. We got the Bang Bang Shrimp, which were incredibly tasty. Then we sat and waited. And waited. Our appetizers were gone, our drinks needed to be refilled - and we STILL had NOT placed our orders, despite our waiter saying he'd back in a moment to take our order. He passed by many times (we were seated right outside the kitchen), but somehow was more focused on his other tables than ours. Finally ordered and requested drink refills. Waited. Finally got our salads. Still waited on drinks. Finally my husband says excuse me to a woman (in black shirt - assuming she was a manager - who was having a conversation behind us with another staff member) and asks if we can have refills. We had our empty salad plates stacked up at the end of the table waiting to be removed - and anytime anyone passed by empty handed - they didn't bat an eye towards them. Finally our waiter pops up behind my son and places the butter over a candle in front of him for his lobster tail. No pardon my reach or anything - just here comes an arm holding a metal thing with a flame inside to keep the butter warm between us. I figured the meals were right behind. Nope. Still had to wait several more minutes. Finally - Surprise again! Here comes an arm shooting between us balancing 3 plates of sirloins, which he's handing across to the other side of the table. I honestly was waiting for a plate to end up in my lap. Someone else comes out with the other 3 plates. We eat. We enjoy the flavors of the food. Then we sit and wait some more so we can order our last course - the dessert. At this point, we've been here over an hour. The restaurant is not crowded and our waiter is not the only one working the tables, so it's not like he was on his own. My kids had homework to get home to do, and I'm getting impatient. As soon as he reappears to finally take our dessert order, we also request the check because we didn't want to wait any longer than we had to at this point. Again - we wait an excessively long time for desserts - and finally we get our check, and our desserts. We start eating our desserts - look at the check - and lo & behold - the Bang Bang Shrimp is full price when they should be $6 each when added to the Tuesday special. Had to flag down the lady in black again - who apologized and said she'd go fix it. Finally we get out of there a couple minutes before 8pm. We got there a little after 6. Nearly 2 hours - mostly WAITING. Waiting to place an order, waiting for food, waiting for dessert. Sadly, our 1st visit wasn't spectacular - which is sad because the food is GOOD .... but when your service is that subpar..... I'll spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. read more

Went early by 5 on a Saturday evening with a reservation,requested a booth, there were 4 open booths the host denied our request said they r only for larger groups and there is only 2 of us. Never offered a wait time for a booth. As we sat we noticed almost every booth was taken by only 2 guests. As we sat for an hour the booths began to seat and yes by only 2 guests. The seating is tight as you can over hear everyone's conversations at the tables. We made reservations weeks ago for NYE dinner with the family. We made sure to arrive 20 minutes early because we figured it would be busy. After our reservation time passed they still told us we had to wait. After waiting 35min and people who arrived after us I went back to the hostess stand and was told that they wouldn't seat us in a booth because there's only two of us, and four people bring more people to the tables! Shrimp was very tasty, mashed potatoes very smooth, good portion of chicken. The lemon butter was excellent. Very good pricing for $21.50. husband got the 7oz for $19 along with the mashed potatoes and upgraded to bacon Mac and cheese for an additional $3.50. Very good pricing, good food, and promptly made. I currently live in Elgin, IL...boring mid west - not a coast in sight. I lived in Maryland for the last 6 years and have traveled all over the world and been along many coasts with great seafood. I kinda cringe at the fact that I can say that this chain, of all places, has really great seafood. I'm beyond high maintenance when it comes to crab cakes - I almost fell on the floor with happiness, trying their blue crab Maryland cakes. So perfect, so flaky and broiled to perfection. I'm also the girl that will have 4 cakes shipped over dry ice from Maryland for $160. But no more honey!! My folks travel to Hawaii 2-3 times a year. The mahi mahi floored them. I lived hundreds of miles from a coast, yet 5 miles up the road I can get very good seafood. Ask for Sebastian, he's a fantastic server. I'll be back, and I'll no longer be paying $160 for crab cakes!! read more

Big BFG fan here! We used to come here for their happy hour which had GREAT deals, but unfortunately, covid took that away from us. We still come here though for dinner and drinks. They have lots of fun drinks to pick from. I always love their featured martini. The bang bang shrimp is always a must for an app. A lot of their apps are good actually. My son and daughter took me here for Mother's Day. I Highly recommend this restaurant- it's definitely a must see. The service was excellent and the food was probably the best meal I have had in many years (regardless of Covid.) We ordered an appetizer ; the Imperial Dip , and it was absolutely delicious. My son and I both got the filet mignon and lobster tail and the filet was cooked perfectly" medium rare " as ordered. The restaurant itself is a beautifully decorated upscale seafood restaurant. I love Bonefish! You must join Dine Rewards is you are a fan. It is worth it for sure. Must haves: Bang Bang Shrimp anything...app or tacos or anything...Bang Bang is delicious. Bonefish Salad with their citrus dressing, delish...I also love the Cobb Salad, sub Salmon and do the Citrus dressing. The fresh fish with any of the sauces is a hit from the menu, my favorite is salmon and the Asian glaze. The au gratin potatoes are amazing. Finally, in the winter, the Cranberry Winter White Cosmo is sooooooo awesome. Misses: Kids meals, they are overlooked, I'm guessing, by the chefs and sometimes don't come out tasting the best...the tenders are often still soggy instead of crispy breading. The spinach never gets me going, even though I feel like I like it elsewhere. And, the specials are a no go for me any longer. They are too overloaded with different flavors that often take away from the well prepared fish. I do like this location a lot. The staff is really friendly, and they have better hours than other locations. Also, the Happy hour at Bone Fish is the bomb. You should check it out. We have been there at least 20 times since they opened. The food is going down hill and the attention to detail is lacking. Menus and floor was sticky. Well drinks was less than a shot (say the measure but at premium price). Food quality is worse every time we go. Even if you call ahead for a reservation, good luck. You will probably wait and they will give away your requested table or type. Hostesses are lazy, bartenders are light on the poor, prices are high and management is no where to be seen. Wait staff is busting their backs but you can't fix poor food. Time to move on. read more

This Bonefish Grill used to make great food but it seems like that is no longer the case. About a week ago I ordered Wagyu Beef & Ginger Potstickers, Cod Imperial, Saigon Noodles and Crème Brûlée, costing a total of $62. The potstickers, cod and the noodles were all so salty that I couldn't even finish them. The creme brulee, which wasn't the typical one in yellow color they made in the past, was a dark chocolate brulee that tasted just ok. Do you know that high sodium content is often the cause of high blood pressure? Does your chef taste the food they cook? I'm not sure if I can ever go back to this restaurant again, and I think I'll start cooking more on my own as I have total control of the sodium content as well as what ingredients I can use for the food I eat. read more

Second time at a Bonefish Grill within the month of December shows how happy I am with both the food & service level of both times I've attended. The Bang Bang Shrimp alone has my heart. The perfect spice amount and creamy vs not ratio. Omg!!! First time I tried the poke bowl with tuna and it was fresh light & tasty. This second time I had the special thermador lobster & shrimp gnocchi. It was incredibly tasty with large chunks of lobster and lots of shrimp. I was headed back from the city and initially attempted to place an order with the lady at Roselle road and was told I couldnt order what I wanted how I wanted it (which I've ordered before no issues) and got put on hold a few times (just bad service), so I hung up and decided to order from Randall road location and am so glad I did. Nick took my order with a great attitude and was able to place it exactly how I requested (extra sauces and sides and gluten allergies and all).
