Cheeseburger lunch deal. Ordered medium.
Jane O.

Everything went very well. I was there at lunchtime and people started to roll in more after I arrived but several tables already full, I ordered the cheeseburger lunch special. It was very good, altho I asked if I ordered medium how much pink would be left. He did say that very little would be left maybe a band of pink with the chef there today, which I thought was honest but forgot to order on the tater side of medium. It came out very well done, but because it took a while and I did not want to wait for a redo, I went with it as is, and because the flavor was ok, if a little on the dry side. I was offered a new one though.so server was very good. The potato was good. Took it and the bread home for later. The other thing I'm not giving a 5 for was one of the waitresses was coughing, at least 3-4 times while I was there, and not really covering her mouth. Even if you are not standing over or near anyone, cover your mouth or better yet, if you are sick stay home. Kinda grossed me out, which is why I sat at the high tops and not at the tables she was serving.. but anyway, I would still recommend, (minus sick wait staff) and would go back, remembering to order 2 levels rarer than you really want something, so it can always be cooked more, not less.

The restaurant does not have a dedicated GF menu. I had to look at the allergen printout. I was able to pretty much eat the same food that I normally did minus dessert. The kitchen did catch the corn spices may have gluten and opted not to put them on the corn. The service was also pretty good.

The food and service once you get seated is great. The portions are large and the food is delicious. Other than some of our Texas tonion appetizer having uncooked breading - which we just avoided, the rest of the food and drinks were good. If you plan to come on a Friday evening be ready for a long wait. Although we were next in line for some time my husband I noticed that 4 tables got seated before us even though my husband asked the front staff a few times. And even though the front said we had the next table and then another group of 2 was next - it was frustrating that they seated the group of 2 before us. So we ended up waiting about 50 minutes for our table when we got in line at 7am. Be prepared to advocate for yourself even though you're placed in a virtual line. We won't plan on coming in again on a weekend for dinner.

First time here. Didn't have high expectations but left with an awesome experience! Even came back within the same week lol Came here for a family dinner and we had 8 people. Our server was Sonny and he was great. I couldn't decide on a drink so I took his suggestion on the blazing berry sangria and it was amazinggg. Fruity sweet and wasn't too strong or tart. Delicious and the cup was huge! I was expecting a glass wine cup lol Timing on food was perfect. He brought everyone's drinks and appetizers out. Then our meals came out shortly after. It's always nice to see team staff working together when there's a big group. 2 other staff helped him to bring out the food which is nice so we could all eat together at the same time. The best appetizers hands down are the wild west and spicy chicken bites. So good that when we came back the same week, we ordered those 2 again lol The chicken bites are tender and crispy soft breading. Has a kick to it but it's also sweet. Kinda like sweet Thai chili but more of a kick. If you're not into spicy then I would recommend the wild west. It's breaded shrimp and squeeze a lemon on top, perfection. Not like your typical fast food popcorn shrimp! Hard fried breading and tiny skinny shrimp. The outlaw ribeye is great, I would order that again. Cooked to my liking. My mom had the salmon. I can't exactly remember the name of it but that was also amazing. I would order the salmon next time because I enjoyed the rice that went with it. This is a great place to take the family out. We had our own little section where our big family and kids wouldn't disturb the smaller groups. Almost felt like a private room without the closed doors. Everyone was able to find something. Even the kids meal has a serloin steak option for $9.99! Ask for Sonny, he will take care of you and the family. Organized, professional, sweet and funny personality.

Clean restaurant! Nice ambiance and plenty of seating. We enjoyed our meal. The meal began with bread. It was a hot and fresh wheat loaf with butter. It was plenty for two, veggie than an Outback loaf, but it was not as soft, definitely more crunchy exterior. I ordered the spicy chicken off the appetizer menu. It was plenty of food for a meal. I also added a Caesar salad to my son's lunch entree for $1.49. The Caesar was average, I would try the side salad next time. My son ordered the strip steak, medium rare. He loved it! He said it was the best steak he'd had in quite awhile. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, very tender. He choose fries as the side. Many were soaked in the steak juice/butter, those were tasty. The fries overall were very good. We definitely enjoyed the food! There was one problem...there was a foul smell in the bar and in the bathroom. There is definitely a plumbing issue here. It was a sour metallic smell, so much so that I'm not sure we could have eaten in the bar. It would have been nice to watch TVs at lunch, but the smell was too overwhelming. The steak was good enough to go back, but that smell was not enjoyable. Be prepared.

The steak was absolutely massive. The price was so low and they taper the seasoning so well over the food so that it doesn't just fade.

It seems all steak houses now serve mash potatoes. Does LongHorn offer a simple baked potato?

Yes, they do! My sister ordered one in August of this year.

The food is made with love and executed with skill. Creative and inventive but not over the top where form trumps taste. Second time to this place and will return over and over. Fried pickle and avocado appetizer knocked my socks off. Served with two sauces (red/loosely based on 1000 island and green/not mint). Both pared perfectly with the course but brought out totally different notes. One highlighted and intensified the sourness of pickle and the other played on the creaminess of Avacado. Deserts are a must. Drinks are good but a little on the sweeter side. It's a hidden gem!

The aioli that came with them was a little sweet and spicy. The roasted poblano soup was really delicious with deep flavors. My entrée was the roasted mini pumpkin with foie grass and apples. It was very tasty although a tad sweet and for a few extra dollars it would have been nice to have two slices of foie gras. Another of us ordered the trout and it did not state it had a creamy sauce that was going to smother the dish...two others ordered beef or the mixed grill and it was way too rare and chewy - not high enough quality meat. Not sure I would return.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in McHenry County...and easily our go-to for date nights…read more We've been here multiple times, and I can honestly say we've never had a bad dish. The food is consistently incredible, and the portions are huge...you'll definitely be taking some home for lunch the next day. One thing that really sets Cucina Bella apart is the layout and atmosphere. They have three distinct seating areas, and each gives you a totally different experience. If you're looking for a more upbeat, lively vibe, grab a table near the bar. For a quieter, more romantic date night, the main dining room is perfect. They also have an overflow dining area, which is great when they're busy (and they usually are for a reason). The wine selection is excellent, and the bar staff can make just about any cocktail you're in the mood for. Whether you're celebrating something special, going out on a first date, or just want a great Italian meal, this place delivers every time. If you're anywhere near Algonquin and craving Italian, this spot is an absolute must!

We had a coupon for a free appetizer (we ordered the potato skins) that was about to expire so we decided to give this location a try. We have been to the one in Bloomingdale, but haven't been here. While we were in the car we used the waitlist option and the app said that there was a 20 minute wait. Once we got inside there was actually only a 5 minute wait. The restaurant is huge and literally every table was full but because the restaurant is so huge there is always a party on the way out so the flow of traffic was nice and steady. I ordered the herb chicken breast, the waitress asked if I wanted it smothered in mushrooms and grilled onions and of course I said yes. She did not mention that it was an up-charge... I should have asked however the amount added to my plate was well worth the $2.99 up-charge. I picked the house salad and veggies because I knew my carbs were going to be coming from the two delicious rolls and butter I was planning on eating while waiting for my order to be cooked. My husband ordered a 9oz steak with a house salad and corn and wanted it cooked medium rare... it came out really rare. It was delicious but way too chewy and hard to eat. He was disappointed but did not want to send it back because he was hungry and ready to dig in. The atmosphere is fun, there were at least three tables nearby that were celebrating birthdays. They sing a song and it is really uplifting and fun to hear! If you're looking for a restaurant with great food to celebrate a birthday or other important day... or even if you're not celebrating anything special, come out and give this restaurant a try! I cannot believe it took us so long to give this place a try! I was avoiding it because I thought the prices were going to be very high, and it is actually affordable and within what I consider a good value!

Not sure why they only get three stars. Their food is consistently good. I've never had a bad meal.read more
