I first was introduced to Bonefish from a Yelp Elite event that I attended (if you do not know what a Yelp Elite is, I suggest you research it. WE ARE AWESOME!) I had passed Bonefish many times but never stopped in. But, my eyes were opened to the truth and I saw the fishy light! This location is located next to the Holiday Inn on Rockside. The parking lot of this place is really wonky. It is tucked away next to the highway and there wasn't much room to make a lot that functioned particularly well. I must say....I hate the flow of this lot and there aren't enough spaces in my opinion. The interior of this location is a bit dated IMHONSHO (in my humble or not so humble opinion) and could really use a revamp. The decor is just okay and I kind of felt like it made Bonefish feel cheap and trust me, the menu is anything but cheap. Say goodbye paycheck! A dinner for 2 will set you back at least $50. But, if you play your cards right and come in during happy hours, you can slip away without committing financial hari-kari.Our server Melissa was very nice, but not very attentive. Many times we had to flag her down. I do not want to feel like an air traffic controller when it comes to my meal. Started the meal off with their Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini. Linda Linda.....listen to me Linda. THIS DRINK ROCKED MY SOCKS! It actually tasted like REAL blueberries and was made very well. Not skimping on the alcohol and bold on the flavors. For $5 I couldn't pass it up! I cannot eat gluten, so I got the Bang Bang shrimp sauteed with unbreaded shrimp as it was $6 on the day we went. The Bang Bang sauce is a great blend of sweet and spicey (kinda like me!) It comes on a small bed of romaine and while not filling, it is very good. Next, I got myself the Raspberry Vodka Collins. This drink came in the prettiest little tilted glass and the presentation was really professionally done. Slightly sweet, slightly tart and a little bubbly. It was a nice refreshing drink. For the meal I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the Fontina Pork Chop. Dude, I love me some porcine style goodness and this dish? IT DELIVERED! The cook on this chop was damn near holy. I swear I felt the presence of Jesus when I cut into it. The flavor was spot on and the fontina cheese just sets the dish off. Got it with green beans and broccoli. Great meal! I find it in bad taste when you walk up to the hostess stand and let them know how many people you have in your party and they ask you if you have a reservation. If you make a reservation you typically let the hostess know that you're here for your reservation. It's 5pm on a Thursday- the dining room was not full, nor did it fill up afterwards. Personally, it's just in bad taste on arrival to a restaurant. (You're not a Michelin star restaurant with month long wait lists.) The beer selection is very good especially if you like IPAs. $7 a glass pretty reasonable. The calamari was dry and crispy but tasty. Large portion. My wife had salmon that was very good. I had the filet and lobster tail both were delicious, and the filet cooked perfectly. The brussel sprouts are better than red lobster and the cole slaw has a unique flavor but was very good. The service was good. The only reason i didn't give 5 stars is all the tables are covered with paper like a crab shack would have and a glass of wine is almost $16. Incredible customer service over the phone and when we arrived to get our to go order. This is never the case at the other location. The food was delicious and packed perfectly. I can't go on enough about how nice it was to come home and eat at our table like we were out. They have a "to go" specialist who was great and even called me back right after I placed my order to make sure it was complete. I tipped him heavy because he seriously deserved it. When I review take-out I don't think it reflects eating in. So I generally never give stars based solely off of takeout... But this was far from ideal so whatever. The steak that came with the Steak and Crabcake entree was an extremelyyyyy thin cut. We also ordered the Bone-In Ribeye but it was actually a semi-boneless rib steak. WHAT. The?! There was a piece of plastic in my mussels. The avocado in the Ahi Tuna bowl was very bruised, and the tuna had a shimmer green sheen?? Can't decide if that's normal or not, but definitely not appetizing. Shrimp Pad Thai was not great. I listed five issues but only the bone-in ribeye issue and the plastic in the mussels issue are really what made it a one star experience. I personally do not like paying for something that I don't get it, or having inedible material in my food. This is my moms favorite restaurant so needless to say we frequent here for various family/friend events. Their bang bang shrimp is the best. There are many places who serve a variation of bang bang shrimp but no ones is close to bone fish's. Often enjoy their ahi tuna and like their coconut shrimp also. Their crab corn chowder was a staple we would get every time now they no longer have it and switched to a lobster bisque which was good but no where as good as the crab corn chowder in my opinion. Their bread always comes out nice and warm and their oil and herbs to dip it in is probably the best around. Their fish is always fresh, I have never had an issue having to send back fish from here. Service is normally very attentive and the espresso martinis keep on coming. It can be pricy depending on what you get especially if having cocktails with dinners. Just a heads up for first timers. I wish you could give a business more than 5 stars. My son and I had dinner at Bonefish Grill in Independence to celebrate his acceptance into college. We were waited on by probably the best server ever, Camille. Even if the food had not been fabulous, which it was, I probably wouldn't have minded because the interaction with Camille was worth the price of the meal. At the end of the meal she brought a piece of cheesecake with a candle in it and wished my son good luck. The manager came over also to make sure we enjoyed our meal. I probably should wait a day before writing this review as I am a bit annoyed coming out of the Bonefish Grill in Independence. My quick meal took about two hours. I dine alone when I travel and order right away but the wait was a killer. The server said the kitchen was slammed but I didn't see many meals being served. My cod fish was over cooked (again). This is not the first time I have been here but it was my worst experience. I come here because it is walking distance from my hotel. So good. But haunts you later at night if you are older. Just a warning. The corn chowder with lump crab was delicious. The risotto with shrimp and scallops special was pretty decent. Seemed like all of the dishes we ordered had a little kick to them. Which may have contributed to the haunting heartburn later. So, the bartenders were awesome, so 5 stars for both ladies at the beginning of my experience; however, the food was pretty bad. I ordered the mussels, and it was just not the same as other states. I get that they have different manufacturers and suppliers, but I expect the same food in a chain. The same taste, the same kind of food. My mussels were covered in a sweet gravy. It wasn't even a wine butter sauce - it was like gravy texture. BUT, I ate it - yes, I was that hungry. So, the next appetizer was the bang bang shrimp. The shrimp was not only dry with very little sauce, but when I asked for more sauce, it was cold. Entire experience ruined. My server went to the back and didn't see her in 30ish minutes. The other server saw my food by the edge of the bar FOUR TIMES, never asked me what was wrong. Also, no one ever took my menus out of the way. Then I said I saw something about dinner for two for $45. She said she would check. When she came back she asked if we were ready to Order and never mentioned the dinner for 2 special. So we just ordered what was on the menu figured it was a lost cause to ask her more questions. I ordered the lobster tails and my husband ordered the orange roughy with the crab. My lobster was great but the butter was cold. By the time she came back I was already on my second tail so I didn't even say anything. By the time the hot butter came I would have been done. I also had a salad and the tomatoes were all spotted and when I bit in they were rotten inside. I did say something about that and all I got was I'll tell the kitchen. My husband's fish was great as well but for the $5 up charge there was not much crab on his fish. Dinner was good but sliding down hill. Disappointed when asked questions that we got no response and rotted tomatoes that you could see before you took the plate out to the table. Not the quality it used to be. Not at all busy tonight and the manager was walking around and never walked to any tables to talk to customers like they used to. She just walked around. Won't be back for a long time. Seated in 5 minutes (less than the 15 we were told it could be). Attentive server, Robin, never missed a beat. For example, when my mahi was served, I noticed there was no lemon but didn't say anything. She DID notice and BOOM came back immediately with a grilled lemon. Wow! And there's something for everyone on this menu. In fact, my husband and I are here in Cleveland for the marathon Sunday and after eating at Bonefish tonight/Friday we decided to come back tomorrow for our pre-marathon pasta dinner. And the BIGGEST highlight: we noticed the staff all happy. They'd say "by" to each other when someone clocked out. My parents and I visited Bonefish in Independence on a Thursday evening, and our experience was wonderful. My mom and dad are older, but the staff was very patient and friendly to all of us, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our waitress Camille was especially friendly and helpful, and made some excellent recommendations on drinks and dinner. So I met a friend here for lunch the other day and was pretty excited that she picked this place for us. I have been to Bonefish Grill before but not this one off of Rockside. The lunch hour traffic for the restaurant is very light. I was seated right away when I came in. They put us in the bar area for our meal, so our waitress was the bartender. When she came over to stop by the table she was very friendly and nice, which I always appreciate. As I was waiting for my friend to arrive, I ordered the edamame as a starter. This dish was ok but I probably won't order it again. Once my friend I arrived I ordered the house salad, steamed broccoli, and jasmine rice. Let me tell you!!! That jasmine rice is quite delicious. I have been dreaming about it since I had it. During our time at the restaurant my friend pointed out how the waitress/bartender wasn't really attentive to our table and I would have to agree. We had to call her over and even walk up to the bar to get her attention. Outside of that, it was a good experience. I highly suggest it for lunch/dinner and a date. I have gone to the Bonefish Grill for many years with colleagues from work and the food has always been delicious. Today is the first time that I have gotten food there ti bring home for my family. We ordered two family meals for takeout and I drove to pick them up. We ordered the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and Caesar salad and the chicken breast with the house salad and more garlic mashed potatoes and cookies for dessert. When I arrived, pickup was very easy and efficient. The food was wonderfully packaged and everything was delicious. Wow, the food and drinks at this Bonefish Grill were exceptional, but the service I received from bartenders Kevin and Adam was among the best I've ever had! I started with the Bang Bang Shrimp then I moved on to a lobster roll special. At Kevin's recommendation, I finished my meal with the carrot lava cake!!! I'm not a carrot cake eater, but this is the best ever by far!! The drinks were delicious but it was a dessert tiramisu martini (that is not on the menu) that is a must-have. Me and my wife had a terrible experience at this restaurant when we walked in we are seated immediately however it's took a solid 10 minutes to get a waitress we ordered the bang bang shrimp and they came out terrible we also ordered The muscles and they were spoiled. We ordered the salmon and that was great about the only good thing about the night. Might I add waitress barely came to the table, when you're waiting for drinks at a dinner table if technically feels like you're in the Sahara desert without a cup water. We walked in at 5:00 PM sharp and didn't leave until 6:45 I recommend going to the one in Canton. I will never come back to this location again sadly. Went to dinner tonight, was very disappointed. Server was very nice, food was good, but went to restroom, and heard someone talking on their phone in the stall, washed my hands,and as I left a staff member came out of the stall. I no sooner walked out the door and he came out right behind me. No way he washed his hands. This is unacceptable. I hope the food preparer didn't do the same thing. Tonight I took a friend to bonefish for the first time, I've been a few times but not in awhile, we used the waitlist option online and I'm glad I did because the restaurant was incredibly busy, we got a table quickly and our server was polite, friendly and extremely attentive, the bread was warm and the oil it's served with was delicious. we ordered the imperial dip and it took about 20 mins for it to arrive, our server came by and let us know it would be comped for the wait. I love that he handled it before we even had to say anything! I ordered the pecan crusted trout and she had the crab crusted cod. The good food came out hot but a little underwhelming, great presentation but my green beans had no flavor and my trout was dry and very fishy. Her cod was delicious but the crap had a gross canned taste to it. We both had mashed potatoes and she had asparagus (which she was too pleased with, lacked flavor) the reason for 4 stars is our server! For a chain restaurant, kudos to Bonefish in Independence, Ohio. There's a reason why this place is always packed. This place boasts some of the freshest seafood I've had here in CLE. I suggest reservations, I've never been able to come and just get seated (always had a wait). If you've never come here, go for the Bang Bang Shrimp. It's breaded shrimp with a delectable spicy sweet sauce. It's one of their signature plates and I think on Wednesdays it's half off. Last few years, been to Hawaii a few times and was addicted to tuna poke! Poke is like seasoned raw tuna and the market for poke in CLE is non existent (except for Heinin's downtown). Was very pleased to see a tuna poke dish on this menu. It was a very healthy choice, comes with rice and plentiful servings. It's pan seared so the edges are cooked. I would venture to saw that it might have been previously frozen but still a very delightful dish that I would order again.
