Dropped by on my first day visiting Cambria. The food truck was in walking distance from my hotel. They are on the left corner of a large parking lot, with 3-4 small tables and chairs surrounding the truck. We ordered the carne asada burrito and planned to sit at the tables but it started raining even though it was sunny earlier. We ducked under the awning of the truck windows and ate standing instead. I've been visiting Cambria for years and I just finally tried Boni's.....Amazing! I had the Medium Breakfast burrito add pollo and avocado and it was perfection! Coming from the OC we know our burritos and this is one of the best I've ever had!!! The Verde Salsa was delicious and a perfect compliment to the chicken burrito!!!! Some of the best Mexican food in the area. I'm from LA, so I can't say they have the best tacos in Cali, but best in the central coastal area. Everything we tried is really pretty good. Asada, Al pastor, Chile verde and especially the salsas. They have a spicy red that has a real kick and a savory green and I mix both. So far I have tried both locations. The weekend "truck" centrally located in Cambria and their brick and mortar which is harder to find, but worth it. Coolest part is you can choose the size of burrito you want! read more

Had 2 tacos and my wife had a bean and cheese burrito. Other than the food being amazing. The owners were super kind to us. One of the owners gave us some spicy but delicious chili for free. Excellent customer service and amazing food! We were visiting from out of town and saw this food truck parked and they usually had a line every time we passed by. We waited until the last night of our visit to try food here. We were greeted immediately. I always get tacos at these type of food trucks and hardly get ever try anything else. My husband ended up getting gordita, which we never tried anywhere before. I have never heard of it either. It was amazingly good! The meat and filling was full of flavor in both the tacos and gorditas. My husband ended up ordering a few more gorditas and tacos and I ended up taking another taco and gordita. It was that good. If you are in Cambria, you have to visit this place! I would support this business just for the amazing service, but the food is so so good! We were provided 3 different types of salsas with our food, just because they wanted us to be happy! If you visit the food truck, there will likely be a line, but it moves quickly, and the food comes out efficiently. Ask for the salsa negra or the salsa fresca. They are both amazing! They are happy to accommodate vegans and gf folks too. We couldn't wait to go back for more, and we ordered food to take home too! What an amazing business and family! Delicious, good quality, authentic, Mexican food and a street taco picnic table truck sit down environment. You can tell the owners care about every detail because they even put fresh flowers on the picnic tables the day we visited. Pretty sure they're only open Friday Saturday and Sunday but if you're lucky enough to be there on a weekend, it's definitely worth a meal! Sometimes I am jealous of cows because they have 4 stomachs. If I had 4 stomachs I could eat more from the menu at places like Boni's. One stomach just wasn't enough. After indulging in their delicious pastor breakfast burrito, I wanted to eat everything available. Aside from just the sheer amount of flavors they back into one of these burritos, there were some special touches that were unique. Your egg is cooked thin and flat so it cover the whole of your tortilla. The beans are applied thinly and evenly too. When everything is rolled up this gives you egg and beans in every bite. It's a fantastic eggy beany blanket for all your pastor, cheese and whatever other magic they cram in the middle. Raves from around our table on everything. Tacos were also a hit. The website said $10.50 for a carne asasa super size breakfast Burrito, but when I got to the truck today the price was $15.50 + a breakfast surcharge of $1.50. Not even sure what the point of a breakfast surcharge is. Needless to say, a super size burrito for $18.50 is absurdly expensive. You know what I love about Boni's? It is that no matter what day of the week I go, or what time I get there, it seems to always be busy. For a Mexican restaurant that is more or less in a non-central location in a tiny seaside town, they are always full of customers. That should tell you just how popular Boni's is among the locals. Boni's is a BELOVED local establishment; that statement in itself still feels like an understatement. There is simply nothing on the menu that is not a 10/10. Everything tastes like a small bite of heaven. As a local, I have tried everything and I am never disappointed. Respectable tacos for the area, the chile verde was particularly good, pastor was OK. If you are used to SoCal taquerias, you will find the selection and trimmings very limited, and the service slow. This is not a quick meal, there are long lines. It took over 20 mins to get our tacos, and when I suggested that this was perhaps surprising, the guy behind the counter snarled, gave me a dirty look, and said I should have expected this. Nor did we get our drinks while waiting for the tacos. Just a traveler passing through, but I would look for other options if I didn't have an hour to spend for lunch. read more

If that's not your thing why not just go to where the "trade" workers go for lunch... Boni's Taco kitchen and truck. Menu highlight: Carne Asada burrito ( beans, rice, onions, cilantro leaves, sour cream, cotija cheese and asada). This isn't typically how carne asada butritos are prepared in SoCal taco shops, but it worked. Very good all around but I do highly recommend dipping the burrito in their famous green salsa. I'd skip on the cilantro. I also love how they cook the tortilla to have brown spots on the outside.if gives the burrito a nice crispy texture. Next time I'll try their al pastor carved fresh from the tromo... In summation, this is the best value on main street. Make sure you go to correct location.
