I've been to Bonjour Montclair for crepes twice now, and the food is extremely tasty. I'm a savory breakfast kind of girl, so on this last visit, I ordered a crepe with prosciutto, goat cheese, and spinach. My husband got a strawberry and sauteed banana one, and we split a croissant. Our meals were delicious and satisfying, and we were there early enough (about 9:30am on a Sunday) to avoid the crowds. My one complaint is that while it's been around a while, the place is still using disposable coffee cups, flimsy plastic cutlery, and styrofoam plates. This little crepe shop is tucked away in the Watchung Avenue business district. I got a breakfast crepe with eggs, ham, and tomato. It was light, flavorful, and delicious, not to mention super filling! They also have great juices. I can't wait to go back and try one of their sweet crepes! With all of the overpriced restaurants in Montclair, it is nice to find one that is worth every penny. They are very reasonably priced! This is destined to become a favorite in my Saturday morning breakfast book :) read more

Very good crepes! Shared a turkey, goat cheese, tomatoes and pesto with my daughter; came with a small side salad and was very filling. For dessert we shared a fresh strawberries and nutella, which came with whipped cream and a slice of pineapple and was delicious. Tuesday is Carrot/Apple soup day. This has to be THE best soup I have ever had. Add to it the sourdough bread they give with it and you will wish Tuesday was every day. I go here almost everyday for coffee. They steam their milk and charge only $1.40 for a small or $1.75 for a medium. Coffee is fresh ground as well. Fresh baked croissants are delicious. Haven't tried their food personally but people I know who've eaten here always say how good it is. Only downside is that it is a little on the pricey side, especially certain items. People who work there are always friendly and helpful. Good spot to check out if you're in the area. read more

This place is not worthy of the hype. Sloooooow, glacial service, not only just for food but also for a cup of coffee. Waitress did not even whipe the tables down. If you love crepes and freshly squeezed juices look no further than Bonjour Montclair. I highly recommend the apple juice and banana nutella crepe. The savory crepes are also delicious but I personally like to order the fruit/dessert crepes when eating here. The croissants are warm and crusty and every order comes with 2 pieces of fruit - usually melon or pineapple. The apple juice tastes like you stuck a straw straight into an apple. Similarly the orange juice is pleasantly fresh and not too sweet or tangy. Be sure to bring cash - credit cards are not accepted. Seating is limited. During the warmer months outdoor seating is available and makes it a little easier to get a seat. read more

Best thing here are the croissants, fresh and flaky, coffee was weak and the crepes were meh. When dining I prefer a bottomless coffee mug. Here, even while dining in, seemed so temporary, served coffee in paper cups no refills (although they steamed the milk which was a pleasant surprise) , crepes and croissants on styrofoam plates, wth. I ordered the Nutella chocolate crêpe, overall it was a good experience. It was warm, soft, with great chocolatey flavor and topped with powdered sugar and chocolate drizzle. Also, it's a good size, not those measly, thin portions. However, one thing I don't like is how they always give you a slice of fruit on your crêpe, usually pineapple, but I've gotten watermelon before. I'm not a fan of this so I usually request for them not to put it on when I order, because I find that it makes the part of the crêpe it was on kind of soggy and if I wanted fruit with my crêpe I would have ordered a banana Nutella or something else of the like. The place can come off as cramped with only six two-seaters inside and then some outdoor seating. The waitstaff was average I suppose, though they seemed kind of standoffish to me, but it wasn't really a big deal. All in all, it's a good place to grab a yummy bite to eat. read more

My daughter turned me on to their California salad with grilled chicken. Large enough for two, it is very fresh and contains avocado, tomatoes, asparagus, grilled chicken--very good takeout dish. I got the Banana, Strawberry, Nutella Crepe since I have more of a sweet tooth, my sis got a turkey swiss with onion and tomato crepe. mine was heavenly and I loved every bite! My sis who is more of a savory type of girl loved hers. Of course we switched and had some of each others, and I must say even though I am not innately drawn to savory, hers was amazing and as for her going for the sweet one I had to barter to get mine back from her ha ha ha. Now don't get me wrong the sweet one was not overly sweet there was no syrup and just enough Nutella to be a flavoring but not overly goopy and overwhelming to the fruit. I had the smoked salmon and goat cheese crepe, with caramelized onions. It was delicious! And what I'm MOST impressed with, is that I thought it was a really good value. Which is hard to come by at Montclair eateries. The very large crepe and a diet coke came to just a little over $12. The day before, I had a very mediocre cheese burger platter and a diet coke at the Montclair Diner - and that came to $13.50! I'd been to Bonjour Montclair several years ago - and hadn't been back since moving back to Montclair in December. It's good to know it's still just as good. Great, extensive menu - lots of delicious hot sandwiches, crepes, salads, etc. Right in the heart of charming Watchung Plaza. Outdoor seating, weather permitting. Breakfast menu, too. I highly recommend it! P.S. The only reason they don't get 5 stars....and I admit that this is a little picky on my part....is because the food is served on pretty cheapo styrofoam plates. One of the best crepe places I know. The inside of the place is very tiny, but the food is hand made and fresh. During the spring, summer days they have the tables and chairs setup so you can sit outside. The only other downside is they only accept cash before you come here dont forget to stop at the ATM. read more

What happened to you Bonjour?! I went all the way to CVS to get some cash back so I could grab my favorite prosciutto, red pepper, mozzarella, and pesto sandwich...only to find out that their bread has changed. Instead of that crispy Italian baguette bread I've come to know and love, my sandwich was made with cheap bread - like dried out "Italian" bread from Subway. What a terrible disappointment. I ate my sandwich sadly and in a hurry, not wanting to savor the strange too-soft mushy combination that resulted from this poor bread substitution. Give me back the old bread! read more

If you love crepes, then this is the place for you! After reading some stellar reviews, I decided to try this place out with a friend. I almost drove past it! You can easily miss this place. Once inside we were greeted with menus and sat down. At first we were the only customers but as the minutes went by people flooded inside the tiny area. Seating is very limited here and it can get tight. Anyway, I ordered a sweet crepe, the banana Nutella crepe. When I received it I didn't expect it to be filling. But after eating only half of it I was already full! It was delicious. I also tried some of my friend's savory chicken florentine, spinach, and onion crepe with béchamel. That was really tasty due to the béchamel coating the crepe and spinach. All in all, I will definitely be visiting this place again!!!! Yummy! read more

I'm really surprised there are only 5 reviews for this place given how long it's been around. This place is fantastic. Wife and I went here last weekend, which was the first really warm weekend of the year. All the tables outside were taken, but there was space inside. I had the crepe with steak, mushrooms, and spinach - it was really good. Wife had a crepe with chicken, mozarella, red pepper, and mushrooms - it was ok as the chicken was a bit dry. We then shared a crepe with berries, which was great. The waitress was very attentive, though I think it's because the food takes a long time to get to the table, and she distracts you from thinking about the time between ordering and eating. I gave the place 4-stars because despite it being fantastic, I reserve 5-stars for the truly awesome experiences. It might not be fair to a place like Bonjour Montclair, but 4-stars is still a strong review. read more

Went here with my sister and we really enjoyed it. I got the grilled chicken pesto pine nut tomato crepe and it was delicious. Saw these girls next to us order strawberry banana Nutella crepes and if I wasn't trying to watch my diet I would have had that in a heart beat. I saw someone on here recommend the goat cheese and turkey crepe and I have to say outstanding!!! my sister had the shrimp w/ spinanch crepe she liked it a lot but she had definitely liked mine she said I beat her this time. we always love trying different things to compare especially somewhere new. like the atmosphere friendly environment and there homemade iced tea was great too. The crepes were delicious- tasted just like what you'd get on the streets of Paris. And they were HUGE; plus they came with a side of fruit or salad! We got savory ones this time- ham, cheese, onion and a breakfast one. There was only one waitress and she was super friendly, even though she was busy running food, answering the phone, and ringing people up. the crepes are filling and good. i went with a friend, he had a savory crepe and i had a sweet one (banana). it was wonderful. a little heavier than other crepes i've had, but i am definitely a fan. the service is also nice and relaxed, and the servers are friendly. the interior is kind of small, but it reminded me of dining in france so i felt good about it. i look forward to the summer and eating the crepes outside. also of note, the croissants smelled amazingly buttery and wonderful. i am going back. : ) read more
