Came here a few months ago to watch a soccer game with friends, the vibes of the pub were great and everyone had so much spirit! We ordered the British nachos which had fries as the nacho, and baked beans and cheese. It was super tasty! I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but the beans and cheese together were super tasty. My friends ordered some beers and drinks as well and everyone really enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall we will likely be coming back here for another soccer game watch!

As a Belgian beer lover, this place is the best! Space is super cozy inside but if you prefer to be outdoors, they have two patio spaces. Look for the awning with BL on top. Friendly service, good people, highly recommend!

Yelpers led us here. The food and vibe will bring us back. Google search for "British Pub" gave us this choice and reviews confirmed it was worth the drive from the airport. Solid pub vibe from the outside and from the moment we opened the front door (hint: there's parking in back, probably helpful for weekends and warm weather). Outstanding decor. Menu prices are DOUBLE what's shown on their Yelp page, but not outrageous. Update needed. Hubs went for the fish and chips and dubbed it the best we've had in our 6 months in Sacramento. I ordered bangers and mash and it rivals any I've eaten worldwide. Order with the bartender on a slow Wednesday night. Likely servers on busy nights. My big quibble is not advising there is a credit card surcharge prior to paying. Was not written on the menu, announced by the bartender, or printed on table cards. Other than that, this neighborhood favorite, as evidenced by the patron interactions, is a winner. We don't drink, so no scoop about the libations.

We came to BonnLair celebrating the end of a long week. Had a couple pints and tried the Shepard's pie. One full serving was perfect for two and accompanied a couple beers perfectly. BonnLair is always a great place to have a relaxing evening.

Bonn Lair is an amazing experience! You are transported to a real British Pub with exceptional brews and plenty of UK cuisine. It is a happy experience with many loyal regulars. The community is very diverse, loving and kind! Please do not let anyone know how special this place is! :-) PS- they survived Covid-19 and are thriving with all of the original employees The Owners are top-notch. They always exceed expectations! Scrum Down!

Definitely loved the vibe of this bar and I very much enjoyed the fish sandwich. Bartender was quick and friendly. Great little hang out spot.

I had a great time celebrating English New Year at Bonn Lair. This small English style pub is located in East Sacramento and is a nice neighborhood establishment. They are designed to resemble an authentic small town pub you might find in England. There is limited parking in the area, so be prepared to walk or get a ride. First off, Bonn Lair only serves beer and wine - no spirits. This can be a little frustrating, but they have a good selection of beers on tap. I got a wonderful Fullers ESB and gave it an encore. Note that they serve large pints here so watch out. The interior is very cute with lots of exposed Timbers and English items. There are a few large booths, a small bar, and a few tables scattered about. The back patio is covered but may be chilly in poor weather. The booths are wooden making a long night a bit challenging with an older back. It can get crowded quick too. Our food was very good. I was game to try their poutine and was rewarded with a generous and fairly authentic version. My mates had the fried fish as combo and sandwich. Both were happy with the results and the fish looked good and authentic. It took a decent time to get the food, but the kitchen likely cooks to order. Overall, Bonn Lair is a great local bar for those living in the area. Several big downsides make it tough to warrant a drive from further out, but locals enjoy this little slice of England in Sacramento.

BonnLair is an institution! Their Oktoberfest is something we look forward to every year. It's a great East Sac local bar haunt full of friends and family alike. They have partnered with the restaurant next door to offer some awesome food to go along with the lovely Euro Pub atmosphere. Come catch a game of futbol with a pint in hand!

Grand pub a few blocks by McKinley park. They have a decent menu (haven't tried any of their food) as I stuck mostly to a liquid diet when I've been there. They have a decent selection of beer but they don't serve hard liquor. The bar staff was attentive and quick with black and tans with a good knowledge on what lager makes for a better Guinness hat. I appropriated my beverage and took a seat in the quiet but decadently clad interior British style pub with a quiet ambiance if you want to chat with someone over a brew. They have a large patio our back and a front patio when the weather is nice. I've been here twice, once for a beer and then on Saint Patrick's day but both were great experiences. It's three blocks from my house so it's going to be a go to for a drink but if you're in the area or simply walking by, check it out.

The location is super convenient since it's within walking distance of the movie theater. We decided to skip the games this visit. Nothing really caught our attention, but maybe next time we'll give them a try. Instead, we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and started with some shots. I ordered the Mexican Candy shot, and my girl got a Green Tea shot. My Mexican Candy shot was really good, it had a great balance of alcohol and flavor. It had just the right amount of sweetness and sourness without being overpowering. For food, I ordered the Beef Barbacoa Quesadilla, which came with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. My girl ordered the pork sliders along with a margarita, while I switched to a lemonade after my shot. The barbacoa quesadilla was excellent. The meat and cheese ratio was perfect, and everything tasted fresh. The pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream all complemented the quesadilla really well. I honestly had no complaints about my meal. The only hiccup during our visit was with my girl's pork sliders. The pork arrived cold, so we let the bartender know. At first, she thought the meat might have felt cold because of the coleslaw on the sliders, but after a brief conversation, she happily took them back and had a fresh order made. The replacement sliders came out with warm pork, and they were much better. Even the first batch tasted good, the only issue was that the meat wasn't warm enough. We appreciated that they made it right without any problems. One thing I thought was really interesting was their drink system. Every cocktail on the menu is served from a numbered tap. I've never seen that before, but I'm guessing it helps with portion control, reduces waste, and ensures every drink is made consistently. I thought it was a unique concept and a nice touch. One thing I also appreciated was the service. When it was time to pay for our meal, the bartender asked if I wanted a refill on my lemonade. I told her we were about to head to the movie theater, so I didn't need one. Then he offered to put my lemonade in a to-go cup so I could take it with me. I thought that was a really thoughtful gesture and a nice example of great customer service. Overall, we had a good experience. The food and drinks were both enjoyable, and the staff corrected the only issue we had with the sliders. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and next time we'll probably give the games a chance. If you're looking for a place to grab some good food and drinks before a movie, Tipsy Putt is definitely worth checking out.

The fries were actually pretty good, an above average standard French fry with salt. The burger however was phenomenal. There was an amazing crust on the outside reminiscent of a backyard bbq. There was ample bacon, lettuce, cheese and sauce to make it a balanced bite. The bun was high end brioche style, they really went all out on quality of ingredients. Same window for beer and food. If you order food you're given a number that people deliver food. Came here for happy hour. I got myself a pretzel with add-on cheese, a pulled pork (seasonal) Belgie with fries, and I sampled other food that my friends ordered. Firstly, the 1L beer is worth it. Not happy hour prices., but well worth the volume. It definitely transported me back to my visit to Munich and the beer halls. Oh, I do miss the drunken singing of the Germans lol Secondly, the food was just okay. Pretzels were thankfully cheaper since it was happy hour but i paid $1 for the add-on cheese. The mustard combo sauce was great. I wish the pretzel was a bit bigger. I appreciated the warmth and the salt ratio; not overpowering. The Belgie (waffle sandwich) was also on happy hour. The texture of the waffle was great. Crisp exterior, soft interior. I ordered the seasonal pulled pork which was great in texture and decently portioned. It is a thick boy, so biting into it was a bit of a challenge. Ended up deconstructing the sandwich and used utensils. Sauce maybe would've been better on the side. Fries always win. No complaints though I wish I ordered the garlic fries... the smell was good. One thing I didn't get to try was their famous, Starbust drink which is a mix of beer, cider and some frosty, maybe. The color was intriguing and everyone seemed to order it around me. The misters were on, which was a blessing and a curse. Definitely helped cool me down, but also became a nuisance as the table and all my belongings got wet. Excited for their new location in Old Sac. Maybe a revised review in the future. Stay tuned.
