From the moment we walked in, Emma greeted us with a big smile. Having visited before, we knew this would be the perfect spot to meet up with out-of-town friends, and it did not disappoint. We kicked off the evening with Jameson shots before diving into the menu. Our group ordered a mix of the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, while I opted for the corned beef tacos. Every dish was excellent, the corned beef is incredibly tender and literally melts in your mouth. If you want to try it but aren't up for a heavy sandwich and fries, the tacos are a fantastic, flavor-packed alternative that I will definitely order again. The drink selection was equally impressive; the beers were great, and the Irish Mule was delicious. Emma provided outstanding service throughout the night. She was attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and offered excellent menu recommendations. This has quickly become one of our favorite spots, and we will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. A 3.5 for the food and a 5 for the service! First the positive. Our server Rob was fantastic. She was attentive and very lively and personable. Good customer service can really make or break an experience. There is a real "guy" ambience here. Most of the patrons were men. Lots of sports on TV and a large bar. The place is clean and well lit. The prices were pretty good as well. The fish and chips were delicious. It was fresh, piping hot and the fish was great quality no bad fishiness at all. The tartar sauce was 20/10! The fish needed salt badly though. The perfect bit was salted, with some malt vinegar and some tartar. Yum! The tacos were meh it just lacked flavor and didn't seem like the ingredients all worked. A bit dry. The sliders were also meh barely any meat. The best part was the relish. The drink was good. I think the biggest issue is the wait time for food. It was at least 30 min for food to come out and the tacos didn't come out with the other two dishes. How long can putting meat in tortillas take? I wouldn't come here on a lunch break and expect to get out on time or eat there if you're on a time crunch. I would definitely go back and try some other stuff. First time trying this place. The inside is nice and modern and the booths are large and comfy. They also have dart boards, lots of tvs and a variety of beers. With our beers, ordered the cheesesteak sandwich, prawns and fries, grilled cheese sandwich, Irish sliders, Ceasar salad and fries. The food was pretty good. This is my neighborhood bar. Once in a great while we'll comedown here because I love me some good Guiness. Service is a hit or miss if you sit at a table. They usually have one girl waitressing for the whole bar so it hard to keep up with everyone if it's busy. We try to sit at the bar, but we usually just drink and skip any foods. I've tried the food here and there but would get the easy stuff like a cheese quesadilla. Hard to mess that up and it's hard to wow the crowd with. I think the location of this place is so random...meaning you don't expect it to be tucked in a strip mall next to a Big Lots store. I was expecting it to be dark and disappointing...NOPE! 100% wrong! Ambiance was surprisingly awesome! It is clean, lively, and fun! Always have the games on and PLENTY of TV's to view no matter where you are sitting. Food (bar food) and cocktails are both consistently good! I would not recommend going for just the food or just the cocktails or only to watch the games...but all of those together makes a great time and great place. It can get busy and the servers cannot always be super attentive BUT be FLEXIBLE and you will have a great time. We try to arrive earlier for the game to get a table. Great for large parties. Service was terrible. Ricky didn't acknowledge me, didn't make eye contact, and took other people's orders while I sat there waiting. If I'm left waiting more than five minutes for a drink, or a hello, be right with you, or just a simple nod, I'm not staying. That's exactly what happened. I left and went to the pizza place down the way instead. Shout out to Caps the Cowboy. He was friendly, attentive, and actually seemed to care. Pitch N Fiddle, on the other hand, gave off strong "too cool to care" vibes. Maybe that works for them. Maybe they get enough business that mine doesn't matter. So thank you, Ricky. My husband and I have been coming here for years. I love how they always have one tv tuned onto something cute and funny. Like reels, or shows like Ridiculousness. Located in the Big Lots parking lot so there is ample parking. Inside is kind of small but still roomy, if that makes sense. It's long and narrow but lots of booth seating lining the wall and a few high tops in the center. When we arrived there was some kind of fight on the TV's so it was pretty crowded and we had wiggled our way to very back to find a seat. Thankfully it was the end of the fight so the place cleared out within 15 minutes. We were informed the kitchen was closing and all drink orders needed to be ordered at the bar as table service was no longer happening. No big deal. What I didn't like was that the waitress who informed us of this as soon as we sat down, didn't even bother to clean off the dirty and sticky table we snagged up. We ended up asking the bartender for a wet towel and cleaned it ourselves. Drinks were very watered down. We had Tito's and pineapple juice and we saw him pour the proper amount of vodka but the pineapple juice was almost transparent and pineapple juice is normally a thicker consistency and very yellow. They do have a TouchTunes to play music on but we noticed a song would start playing and halfway through it would skip to the next song. If I'm paying for a song only to have someone skip it before it's over, I'd be pissed. They also have 2 dart boards inside by the restroom. We didn't play, but it appeared they were steel tipped darts and not the crappy plastic ones. Overall, it's what's expected of a typical dive. Hit or miss service, low key dirty and dingey and full of locals. Although it's kinda far from my house, if in the area again, I'd return. "You had me at Irish Bar" Truer words have never been spoken when convincing me of a new location. Having lived here many years ago and using the parking lot as a starting point for biking on the American River, I can't believe I have ignored this place for so long. Parked in a corner next to the big lots it can be easy to miss this place but it is really a nice little Irish Pub. Visiting on a this Thursday afternoon I was surprised to find it decently busy but service was still great and relatively quick despite the crowd. Speaking of crowds, the people inside were a pretty fun and chill crowd. Our server was really friendly and helped us with picking out decent drinks. Cool spot for lunch! Stopped in here for lunch while working in the area. Walked in and was sat right away at the bar. Our bartender / server was very nice and attentive. Had a beer and some lunch. Ordered the big Eddie. Steak sandwich with cheese and grilled onions (usually with mushrooms but not for me). The food came out pretty quick for a full bar of people. The sandwich was really good! Had a decent amount of meat that was cooked very well, garlic butter crusted on the soft roll, yummy melted cheddar cheese and grilled onions tied the whole thing together. Saw this place while looking for somewhere new to try out. Not from the area so it took a little time to get here with traffic after work. The parking lot was pretty packed but I found a spot near the restaurant/bar. I got their fighting Irish martini, whiskey BBQ wings and Dublin fish and chips. The drink had a nice kick but was sweet and you couldn't even taste the alcohol which I don't mind at all. The wings were huge and had a good amount of flavor. The fish and chips were also flavorful and a good sized portion. My only two gripes that prevented me from leaving 5 stars were the lack of AC and slow service speed. My server was very nice and this is nothing negative on them but it felt like it took a really long time to get everything. Maybe they were understaffed? Overall, I'd probably come back if I was in the area. I might try to come when it's not as hot outside though. read more

Went here recently for a friend's 30th birthday. Pitch and Fiddle is located in a shopping center so it's easy to find a spot to park or get dropped off/picked up by Uber. Our group ordered the wings, mozzarella sticks and various plates of food ranging from steaks to burgers. All of us had no complaints - good pub food and nice selection of drinks and beer. We all agreed that the wings were our favorite part of our meal so definitely order some! Our server was incredibly kind and checked in on our large group often. I'm rating Pitch and Fiddle a 2/5 simply because: 1. They ran out of Guinness on a Saturday. 2. Menus were outdated and many items on the menus were out of stock. 3. Bartenders were not keeping tabs on their guest's alcohol consumption. I know...it's a bar. I know...it was a Saturday...it was 5:45pm and one guest had already thrown up on a separate party behind us. It took over 15 minutes for the staff to fully clean it up after being made aware of the situation. About an hour later (6:45pm), another guest had fallen from having too many drinks and pulled down some picture frames on themselves. I've been a bartender before and know how uncomfortable it can be to cut people off, BUT for their patron's safety, it's a must. I promise - I'm not a party pooper, I just don't want Pitch and Fiddle to have to deal with any serious issues. All in all, it was a memorable night at Pitch and Fiddle. read more

We must have come in on a bad day? We were not helped for 30 minutes after sitting, then another 20 minutes after we got our drinks. We had almost been there for an hour at this point. Food another 20 minutes later and it was missing a dish. Food tasted like they forgot to add salt and the portions were completely different for the same orders for different people. We are about to ask for a check when the server comes over with a check and the missing meal is on it. We inform her that we did not receive this item and would like it removed. They said they have to charge the card to void it. So I paid for one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had twice... Mind-blowingly bad. Never coming here again. read more

Ok, lemme start by saying the food good. Honestly more than good. The problem is never the food here, it's the service. First time I went was on saint paddy's day. I get there's a wait so I was chilling, food always comes out randomly and never all at once and you kinda barely got checked on but , I figured it's just busy and server is probably new. Went yesterday and the waitress got my friends order wrong twice (Caesar, extra red onions no croutons -- she actually has a gluten allergy because she has celiacs but anytime you bring up gluten you get weird looks), got sent out with croutons she sends it back, had to wait for her salad again, maybe 10 minutes comes back out no red onions, and I'm missing the order of fries with my sandwich. This time it's not even busy, we barely got water refills without asking multiple times, and my friend wanted an order of wings so she asked for the menu and the server forgets so ultimately she looks it up on the phone. Coupled with what it seemed like the chefs coming out near the door staring at us as the problem table (but I'm not sure could've just been them surveying the area but they seemed to be eyeing us. Take it with a grain of salt I suppose). I really can't tell if it was 1. Too loud in there and the server couldn't hear us, 2. The server just was not a good server or 3. The server was new but this is the second time this kind of thing happened. I also realize the menu says wait time may be a bit depending on how busy it is but I promise you it wasn't busy at all. Anyways 3 star rating purely due to all the food being really tasty. I had the pastrami sandwich, my other friends with me had the buff wings and my hubby had the mac and cheese burger (which was fire af). Great place to watch sports with lots of TVs and neighborhood vibe. They had both Sac Kings basketball and NFL on a recent Thursday evening with a good size crowd. Food is good quality and tasty. Tucked away in a corner with easy parking in commercial center. We tried the Westie burger which was delicious! Patty is well seasoned and comes loaded with bacon, two kinds of cheese (these were not fully melted) and fried onions (these were cold) plus a large side of hot salted French fries.
