Yes! Def Recommend! I was in D.C. for a work trip and as I was walking back to my hotel I noticed this place and decided to check it out. Food- I ordered the Kale Caesar Salad. I was curious about the salad because I thought the kale was going to be a little sour against the Caesar dressing but it was super delish and crunchy (I think there were croutons). The pizza was soooo yummy and had a delicious spiciness to it. The sesame seeds were a nice flavor addition. The pizza was coal fired and also has a drizzle of honey around the crust. I could not eat the pizza on my own (only one size is available) so I took it back to my hotel for left overs (BTW- It tasted soooo good cold). Establishment/Ambiance/Service- The restaurant was nice and clean both inside and out doors. Orders are done via QR code and staff bring your food out. I received my food fairly quickly once I ordered. The staff were very friendly. My waiter was very helpful and attentive. The location is very nice and relaxing and you get to hear music from the location next door. The only reason for the 4 star is because they only have one size for pizza. read more

My family and were in DC for the weekend. This was a walking distances from our hotel we stayed at. This was such a cute place, indoor and outdoor dining. Very friendly staff and great service! We weren't really sure what to order because they had all different types of pizza, I'm glad the staff spoke to us and what he recommended. We ordered 2 pies and they were both DELICIOUS omg! Pretty good happy hour deal but nothing special about the pizza. The two pies had a nice thin crust, and the straciatella cheese was really creamy on the stracci pie. The marinara pie was lacking in flavor, but it was only $6 during happy hour. The vodka sauce on the slice was good and the crust was fluffy, but the exterior could have been more crispy. Came here on advice of Yelp reviews - I give it Five Stars! If you like Neapolitan style crust, this place has it! A small, simple restaurant in DuPont Circle. Filled up quickly around 545p on a Friday. I'd recommend making a reservation. We only ordered the Macha Roni pizza and kale Caesar on our visit - both were absolutely fantastic! The crust was thin, light, airy, and crunchy. The topping were sweet and spicy. The kale salad was a very interesting and tasty twist on the traditional Caesar salad. I stopped at Boogy and Peel in Dupont on a work trip in DC. I was in the mood for some good pizza after a long day at the office. I dined by myself, so I came straight for the pizza. According to the website, the pizzas are "12-13ish inches" and could be shared between two people. That seems pretty fair, but I was hungry. This place has some exotic pies, but I'm boring and went with a Cheesy Boi and added pepperoni. The pie was very reasonably priced at $13 plus $3 for the pepperoni. The pizza itself was delicious. The $3 extra for pepperoni went a long way as the pizza was piled with tons of pepperoni. The cheese, sauce, and crust were very flavorful and came together nicely. The service was good. You order at the front desk and take your number to a table of your choosing if you opt to dine inside. The place was bumping with popular 70s and 80s music. It was difficult to not sing along. This is a really cool place with a fun vibe. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good pizza and a fun time. read more

Haven't done a review in a while but one slice in and I knew I had to share. I ordered a Kale Caesar Pizza w Boquerones (sardines) and WOWWW this was so good. When I tell you it had the perfect balance of flavors. From the char of the perfectly cooked crust to the way the Parmesan and breadcrumbs combine to make the perfect texture and flavor combo. And DO NOT skip out on the Boquerones. Theres one on each slice which was the perfect amount. I'm sometimes nervous with kale since it can be bitter, but this was tender and perfectly coated with the Caesar dressing. I had the matcha pepperoni pizza on a previous visit. It was delicious as well and filling. It tasted even better cold the next couple days. Delivered hot every time as well, even on a Friday night! Also just an extra shout out to this crust. Amazing pizza! So good that even their cheese pizza was one of my favorites. We came for dinner on a Thursday night. They have nice outdoor seating and indoor as well. It was nice weather so we were trying to grab a table outside but it's first come first serve and it was pretty busy for dinner. We started with the crispy brussel sprouts with romesco sauce which was delicious! Brussel sprouts were roasted well and the sauce was really good. It does contain walnuts. For pizzas we split a cheesy boi and sweet baby christos between 4 people. We really enjoyed the cheese pizza! It was your typical simple pizza but cooked really well with a nice crispy crust. The sweet baby christos pizza was delicious as well and very unique. It had eggplant, cherry peppers, feta, honey and garlic confit. So many flavors that worked together really well. Finally for dessert we all shared the banana split. It has a vegan coconut soft serve with marshmallow fluff, caramel, peanuts and a caramelized brûléed banana. It was so good and easy to split for a sweet treat. Overall I loved this spot, and now one of my favorite pizza places in DC! read more

My family and I ate here yesterday for lunch. We got the Bird Reynolds, Macha Roni, and the Cheesy Boi. All of them were delicious, but my favorite out of the three was the Bird Reynolds! I love buffalo chicken and I love dill. The atmosphere was casual and chill, and the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and kind! We plan to go back and bring our friends next time. The only thing I wish they had is a high chair for our 1-year-old son, but we sat in the window seat so he was able to play on the bench. TLDR: burnt pizza taste no good I realllllly wanted to like Boogey and Peel. I've been following them for a while and know some of the chefs come from a Michelin star establishment, and was really excited about the fun menu items. Like the Rueben style pizza and Big Mac pizza. When we got there, the place was empty... where as the bar next door had a lively HH crowd. Tried to pay no mind to the emptiness and ordered via QR code. I noticed from ig that a lot of their pizzas are burnt? Lo and behold when we order our pizza is so burnt it's almost comical. It was hard to judge the toppings because crust was so burnt. I honestly want to come back because I still hold out hope that the pizza can be good. First, a shoutout to the chef! I went specifically for the Carbonara Pizza, which was on a limited run. When I was told it was sold out, I left the place. Then, Rachel Jennings herself ran out to tell me there was a miscommunication and there were still Carbonara pizzas left. I was really grateful that she made the effort to tell me that. The pizza itself was worth it. So was the one other one I tried during another visit, the @kschifanorealtor. My friend described it as an Italian sub on a pizza. Much like the other unique creations on the menu, it works! The thin crust was done just right. They also have your traditional options if that's what you're feeling. I also recommend the frozen cocktails! The Carbonara and @kschifanorealtor were big enough to share between two people with an okay appetite. read more

This place is awesome: casual and fun but also creative and tasty. Vibes are perfect. They have a sense of humor and style that we don't see enough in DC. This was my first visit to Boogy and Peel, but they've been on my radar since before they opened. Suffice to say, this visit was overdue. My group tried four pizzas: Harambe Loved Big Macs (like a Big Mac, obv), The Bird Reynolds (buffalo chicken), Stracci Pie (stracciatella cheese and red sauce), and Lamb Pie. Lots of the other pies also sounded good. The pies were all really tasty and my group was split on favorites. Big Mac was really solid and definitely tasted like a Big Mac -- pro or con depending on your perspective, but you know what you're getting into :) Going in, I was less interested in the Stracci Pie because it was simpler than the others, but I loved it. I really appreciated that they put stracciatella on each piece so the toppings were all even and no single slice got shortchanged. The chef/owned gave us a sample of the Bird Reynolds, and I'm so glad they did -- definitely a winner. Finally, the lamb pizza. It was good, but we all agreed it was a little too sweet with the amount of cinnamon and currants. I'm not big on pizza crust in general but it's pretty good here. There are a lot of things going right here besides the pizza. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have a clear and rational service fee. They have QR code ordering at the table and it works well (uses Toast). Decor is great. Excellent happy hour and takeout specials. Kudos. read more

Service here was fantastic. I got the vibe it was a family business. Staff was very accommodating. Nice spot to stop and grab a pizza and explore DuPont. Came with my kids and they loved the cheese pizza. I got the Roni Macha. I think the honey balanced the Macha spice. Cool combination. Atmosphere was welcoming and definitely got the vibe to chill eat and have a good time. Thanks Boogey and Peel, I don't leave to many reviews, but you guys deserve one. Ps. I think I heard the staff refer to one of the staff as Mom. If that's the case Mom was awesome, as Moms always are. So I've been here twice now, the first time there was no one in here and it was a super quick in and out experience, the second time it was a little bit of a wait so the outdoor seating wasn't an option. The pizza is awesome, I love the creativity in the flavor profiles, it is a little in the pricey side of things but overall good pizza. Stumbled upon this place with some friends for happy hour! Perfectly located near DuPont circle which makes it easily accessible by metro! This place had the funkiest but most delicious pizza! I was surprised by the size of the personal size. Definitely can be shared with another person. I love how everything can be ordered through your phone. Makes getting your food so much more efficient. I tried Nonna's pie which is a vodka sauce pizza and wow it was amazing!!! It was served with extra vodka sauce on the side which you can dunk your slices in. The drinks are super yummy as well and a great spot for happy hour. I came here after work around 5 pm on a Thursday and loved it! It was pretty empty when we arrived but at around 6 pm it was packed. They have an amazing happy hour. We each ordered a pizza and a drink for about $25. The pizza was really large and lasted me for 2 meals. I thought it was great, probably one of the best pizzas I've had in dc. The place is small and the service is great. Our waiter was really nice and made sure to ask us about allergies before giving us recommendations. We really enjoyed ourselves here. It's a casual, fun vibe inside and that comes through when you look at their menu as well. I actually like that you order via QR code but I can see how that wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea so just be aware before you go. I got the Nonna Vodka pie and I would get it every time. This pie has a silky smooth vodka sauce plus more for dipping. Fab crust for sure, crispy and a few black spots on the crust but not burnt throughout or anything. Ask for crushed red pepper for a kick. The bites you get with fennel are extra special but it isn't overwhelming. I may you just can't stand fennel flavor skip this one. My husband got the Bird reynolds pie and his assessment was: "messy but so good it's worth it". Could do with a little less iceberg lettuce but the pickle, and dill were, according to him (after he made a face when he saw it) "surprisingly good on a pizza". Give it a try, maybe see if they can go easy on that lettuce. You will definitely have enough from one pizza to feed 2 or have leftovers. Leftover boogy and peel is a very good thing to have! Are these pizzas a bit pricey? Yes, but not outrageously so given the location and quality. I would happily come back. read more

My actual review taking all factors into account is about a 4.5, but I'm rounding up because I really enjoyed the pizza, and the quibbles I have are minor. The location is really convenient, very close to Dupont Circle metro station. Since I don't drive in DC this is a big thing for me. The place is fairly small with a few tables inside and a few tables outside. The seating, while modern and attractive looking, is decidedly uncomfortable. So this is a "eat it quick and go" kind of place rather than a "sit and socialize for awhile over your food" kind of place. Which is a shame, because the food is actually really good and they have a creative drink menu. We ordered a Macha Roni pizza ($20) without the basil (since I'm sensitive to it), my husband had a cocktail and I had a diet coke. I'm not exactly sure what the unusual stuff on the macha roni is, I know matcha is usually green tea, but not sure that's this was. It tasted really good. Basically, this was a pepperoni and honey pie, which is a combination I love, with some little black flecks on it. The pizza is about 12", but has a very light and airy crust, so it's not super filling. I usually only eat two pieces of pizza but I easily ate three here. YMMV but if you're super hungry it might not be sharable, we did ok though. But, it is delicious - the sauce is robust and tangy how I like it, the pepperoni was abundant and good quality, it had the right amount of grease and a generous drizzle of honey to make it all pop. I loved the pizza. There are two other minor quibbles that I'll mention, even though I'm not deducting rating for them. First - it is not super clear when you order that you have to order parmesan cheese to go with it, since at literally every other pizzeria I've ever been to, it's been in little jars at the table. When I asked for some, they pointed me to the tableside ordering QR code and sure enough, it's a dollar for freshly grated cheese. I didn't bother. Not because I wasn't willing to pay a dollar, but I wasn't willing to go through the hassle of putting in a separate one-dollar order for it. If they had asked me up front (or made it prominent on the menu so I'd have noticed...not sure if it was there or not) I would have paid the dollar along with my total bill and been fine. The second thing, is that we dined outside and both B&P and the bar next door had "dueling stereos" with totally different music playing very loud. I don't know about you, but hearing multiple songs playing at once is extremely unpleasant for me. Yet another reason this isn't a "hang out awhile" kind of place. I think B&P and the bar next door need to come to a time-sharing arrangement for their outdoor stereos and take turns, because I can't imagine anyone actually enjoys hearing salsa music and Lady Gaga full blast at the same time. So, all in all, the food's great, if you can take it out you might want to otherwise bring noise-cancelling headphones, and if you need parm be sure to include the request when you order. read more

What a great find! We were in the area and actually walking to a different restaurant when we happened upon Boogy and Peel. Decided to go in for the pizza and WOW! Quite possibly the best I've ever had. And that's coming from someone who grew up in the greater NYC area with, IMHO, the gold standard in pizza for the entire country. We had 2 pies recommended by our server: a Macha Roni and a Stracci Pie. We got both and they were amazing. If you don't like spicy, get the Macha on the side. I like it, wife doesn't. The crust is still really, really good. However, the Big Mac pizza is just kind of gross. The pickles are wayyy to sweet and the ground beef tasted like it was days old. You know that taste of stale ground meat that has been in the refrigerator for several days. Not good. Stick with the classics at this place, avoid the Big Mac pizza. This has to be some of the best and most unique pizza I've had in DC! My friends and I shared three pizzas. You order at the counter and then seat yourself! It was decently busy on a Thursday evening, but we didn't have to wait for a table. We also shared a bottle of wine. One of the staff members talked us through all of their wine options which I really appreciated. - Harambe Loved Big Macs: A cheeseburger pizza. I'm not one to go for ground beef on pizza, but I've been converted. It legit tasted like a big mac. I think this was my fave and I always respect an ode to Harambe. - @kschifanorealtor: Almost didn't get this one due to the odd name, but once you read the ingredients you realize it's an italian sub on a pizza. Delicious. - Macha Roni: This is a pepperoni pizza with a chili crunch topping. A treat for fans of sweet/savory combos. We stopped in here for a quick date night last week. Great spot! There wasn't seating available when we got there but the staff kept an eye out for us and gave us a heads up when seats became available so we really appreciated that. The food and drinks were good, they had a TV on with sports playing, and we enjoyed watching the pizzas being made in front of us at the bar. This place is amazing. From the nice staff to the great food, this pizza shop wowed me. The ambiance and open concept adds a nice touch. The pizzas are great but the sides are probably on the same level. We ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Romesco and the Romesco sauce completely took us away. The flavor combinations thrilled us. We ordered two pizzas, Sweet Baby Christos and Macha 'Roni. This unassuming place was such a great surprise. Very clean and attentive server (I didn't catch his name). It was just him and he was on point. There were 6 of us and we had... Buffalo chicken wings- large wings that are meaty and perfectly fried with just the right amount of buffalo sauce - expertly executed. We had the kale ceaser. Oh man! So dang good. I would have been happy to just fill up on wings and that salad. But we were here for the pies. Stracci Pie- was good. Stracciatella is that creamy center of fresh ricotta. @kschifanorealtor was also good. Kinda like a sub sandwich on a pizza crust. A little too much sub sauce for me. It made the crust too greasy and soft. The Macha Roni is by far the best. It was on the spicy side of good. Not the spicy side of numbing your lips. And highly addicting. I wish we had room for the sweets as they looked interesting. But we were stuffed. We arrived a little late - almost 8pm. But we were seated quickly and tended to instantly.
