Boughten a A/C the other day off amazon. Reached out to my Leasing office because I live in an apartment complex and they told me they were going to send the maintenance person out to my APT to help me with my A/C unit. All of sudden I get a knock on the door within 20 mins of sending that email from a guy that proceeded to tell me that he is with " BOOKERBOYS ". Never called them and thought it was weird but I thought maybe , my leasing office called this third party guy over. Needless to say after him checking the breaker box and taking one of the power outlets out of the wall. He proceeded to tell me in a very fast manor that I would need to replace the power outlet and that would run me $125 and I would also need to replace and upgrade my 20 watt amp in my breaker box to a 30 watt amp because the amp in there right now is burnt out. And that your A/C is waaaaay to powerful for you outlet and breaker so will need to replace and upgrade your 20 amp breaker... Fast forward his on his way out, when my " ACUTUAL " maintenance guys come to my door and have no idea/recollect or information of this guys stopping by at all... So that was awkard.., then the bookerboyz technician proceeds to say one last slick comment " the longer you keep using the outlets the more its going to burn out and cause damage . " So that was nice of him , and his way of trying to pressure me into fixing this asap and spending over $400 more dollars on this AC! The verdict? The maintenance guys ask to take a picture of his card and proceeded to check everything out he checked out and said not only is your breaker amp not burned out but your A/C unit is not too " POWERFUL " for you breaker nor is it too powerful for your outlet. The A/C unit is actually below the max! The A/C unit is 15watts... Needless to say the maintenance guys got everything up and running and everything works great like it did before and I didnt have to pay a DIME out of my pocket... Now Im sure this is just one bad apple in the company but still Im not taking my chances with this company ever again. Specially since I never even called them in the first place! Must report incompetence and overcharging. Beware. Found Capri Booker (Bookerboyz) through Angie's list. He was disorganized and made 3 trips to Home Depot for parts. He was here almost all day. He was replacing toxic fluorescent tubes and propped them against garage door where of course they fell when garage door opened shattering broken glass and mercury dust all over garage. He was asked twice to remove them and he left us with the broken bulbs. He was unable to install the ballasts due to our existing circuit but then failed to replace the old ballasts so we now have no working lights in garage. He was to return Friday with new LED fixtures but failed to show or call. I speculate Angie's had tipped him off about his improper charges. After billing us for parts and labor over $400, we received another charge from Angie's list. When enquiring, Angie's advised charges were not supposed to be made by him but by them. They adjusted their charges by half. Avoid having this happen to you if at all possible. This is exactly why we went to Angie's in the first place. Unfortunately, we won't again. read more
