Trying to frequent our favorite spots to support their success. But after being told no reservations on a phone call for Sunday, we are told we cannot sit in open seats outside, they are reserved. Then we want to have a drink, out of the way and wait for outside. The hostess said bluntly, no. We go inside, have a half of our drink and now 3 tables are open outside. Came to Boondoggles to watch the World Series and have some dinner. I guess it was okay other than getting my own silverware and napkins and having to ask for plates and wipe the plates down after I watched the waiter literally rub his thumbs all over the top plate as he brought them to our table. And then had to ask for service for each and every drink. Then had to go find our waitress to ask for the ticket... I still tipped appropriately. If you want an hourly job then get one. Don't work in hospitality. If you manage a restaurant on a night that has the World Series and your business is only 1/3 full, maybe you're the problem as well. What a joke! I hate writing this but hopefully someone there will read this and improve their service. Been there plenty of times before with great service but this was just miserable. read more

This place has a great patio and we love that you can just drive your boat up to the dock to go there. Most of the food is good. We really like the pizza chips. I did order biscuits and gravy off of the brunch menu the other day and they were terrible. Biscuits were hard as a rock and they only give a tiny bit of gravy. Not enough to soften them up enough to cut the biscuits. I will still be going there. Just not going to order from the brunch menu. read more

Excellent little joint to drink and chill. The casual atmosphere is very welcoming and reminds me of homey little London pubs. The pizza is AWESOME. Both the sauce and cheese are delicious. The crumbly sausage is perfectly spiced and seasoned. I highly recommend the John Dough and Florentine. Plenty of beer options. Cocktails are reasonably priced. The service could be better but honestly who really cares if the pizza and drinks are good lol. read more

Not sure why this place is getting poor reviews. I Love This Place, and so does my dog Blue. Shes a Razor Edge/Staffordshire mix and the establishment welcomed her with open arms. Food was great, I had the chicken parmesan and my fiancee had their pizza. Our waitress made sure all was well and took care of our Blue, giving her bacon strips and water. I don't always go to Seabrook, but when I do, Boondoggles is a fun spot. I've been to Boondoggles twice with the most recent visit being to celebrate my friend's dirty thirty. This was the last stop on our birthday bar crawl so we were all pretty toasty by this point. Boondoggles is on the water and has a large interior, with a dance floor, as well as an outdoor area. They play music outside too so that's the place to be, weather permitting. Music is mostly top 40 and rap so you can definitely get down. read more

First time here, my daughter was with me and she knew about this hidden gem. I got the shrimp poboy and fries. The shrimp were huge and all shrimp(no tails), very flavorful and tender, fried just right!! Fries were good but cold It was mid afternoon on a Tuesday but, the waitress was sad looking never smiled or said anything nice. Not really rude but I felt like the experience would have been enhanced if she was more friendly. The Bloody Mary was spiced perfectly, one of the best I've had!! 5 stars if you love waiting for an hour for your food. Shit service for average food. Left myself a tip for somehow having the patience. Mostly everyone surrounding us walked out. To their benefit, I was parched as hell. Definitely expressed how dissatisfied I was, but the response I was given was "Someone else's order took a really long time." We spent close to 2 hours there and the majority of the time we were acknowledged only due to us waving down our waiter repeate. Option 1: stay home with a horrible hangover. Option 2: take a day trip out to Kemah with a friend. I chose option 2 and feel the right decision was made. He lived in Seabrook a few years ago & took me to one of the favorite hangouts, Boondoggles. I already liked it by the name alone because it's fun to say. It was kind of tricky to get there because it's located on the other side of Kemah, positioned under the bridge. Actually, this would probably be a great place to visit at night because you have a direct view of the boardwalk, docks, and all the boat traffic. Since we were there on a weekday, it was pretty empty inside & out. Most people were sitting on the patio, which is exactly where we chose to sit overlooking the water. Bench seating, very open patio, and I think have the option to close it in if it gets too windy. Their wait staff was friendly & attentive. The food was good, above average for pub food. I had catfish & veggies - no complaints there. I also ordered a margarita that was so good I ordered another just to make sure. More than anything I enjoyed the atmosphere. Boondoggles has a real beachy feel to it, more than any restaurant across the waterway. The crowd is more laid back than the Kemah crowd as well. I went casual & felt dressed up. I love you crawfish...and they got 'em and they are fantabulous. I love my cajun food and this place brings it good and spicy (well during season). The wood fired pizza looks really good too. This is definitely THE happy hour place for NASA folk -- which is why I usually tend to avoid it during the happy hour. Then again I am low on the totem pole, maybe I should consider going more often... Boondoggles is really a great place for some pub grub and a few drinks. The food is really outstanding for a pub -- I mean really outstanding -- the pizza is fantastic! They also have a pretty decent beer selection, outdoor seating, nonsmoking inside, and great service. A few weeks ago I planned a pub crawl/scavenger hunt in the Clear Lake area for my best friend's bachelorette party (we wanted to stay close to home) and we started the night off at Boondoggles. I felt so bad for our waitress -- 7 girls all dressed in matching shirts with bright pink sparkly bags ordering drink after drink and bugging all the patrons -- but she was really great to us and even filled our matching pink water bottles up with ice cold water so we could stay hydrated throughout the evening. I really like Boondoggles for a nice afternoon weekend lunch. What's better than sitting outside at a wooden picnic table, drinking a beer, eating delicious pizza, and watching whatever sports game is in season on TV? Not much that I can think of. This has been a mainstay of the Clear Lake / Seabrook area for a decade or more. Their particular strengths are service (always fast and friendly), beer selection (huge draft selection, plus some hard-to-find bottles), and brick oven pizza. Other positive features include TV's in every corner, very comfy atmosphere (wooden interior, high ceilings, some areas to seat large groups, intimate bar, lots of picnic tables out on the porch in the shade). They also have a warm hearth/fireplace and free popcorn. Their biggest positive is a fresh and plentiful beer selection, be sure to ask what is seasonal. And last I was there, they serve all the microbrews from Houston (St. Arnold, No Label, Karbach, Southern Star, etc.) The location is good, it's a bit behind a building from NASA Parkway so it's an awkward turn into the parking lot. They have a lot of parking, but it will fill up during happy hour almost every day of the week. During the spring months, they'll cook out crab legs and crawfish fresh in the parking lot for a good price (and great quality). My only complaint would be the crowds (so don't go here, LOL). It can get a little cramped inside and sometimes, as I said, parking is full. They share a lot with another wine bar and seafood restaurant (be sure not to park in a reserved spot). Outside of the pizza, the rest of their menu is average, not bad, but not outstanding. read more

Ok so I have been going here for like 8 years or so. This is one of the original places in the area that offered a large variety of beers. Long before the craft beer trend hit this place was selling craft and imported beers. It is usually packed and kind of loud. The crowd is varied with people of all ages and walks of life. Kids can come but late at night it turns into more of a bar than a restaurant. The food is very good. Pizzas from the wood oven, wings, ceviche, nachos, queso, and salads are all good. Staff is ok but can be a little slow some times. For lunch, supper, or late night this is an awesome place. Now for the bad. Brunch is just not good. Omelets should not be brown on the outside. The omelet bar sounds good but the options are too limited. Meat choice is only bacon or fajita beef? All together they just don't offer a big enough selection at brunch at all. My daughter liked her Belgian waffle but it came out 10 minutes after my omelet? Come here for beer, drinks and night time fun and food. read more

Pretty good beer selection and excellent pizza. I've been here several times and it's been good every time. A waitress here a couple years inadvertently triggered an obsession with milk stouts by recommending the Left Hand Milk Stout to me. They have a brick fire oven they cook all the pizzas in and just about every pizza has goat cheese on it. They've got something like 10 different pizzas on the menu. Last night I tried that fajita pizza for something different. It had fajita beef, black beans in place of a red sauce, goat cheese, and pico. It reminded me a lot of fajita nachos and I was happy with it. My usual pizza is the Mediterranean. Ham, salami, 3 cheeses, and olives. It's amazing. The service can be hit or miss but it's never been bad. They can get pretty crowded if a major sporting event is on or they're doing one of their theme dinners(crab boils etc). Speaking of, I almost forgot about their brunch buffet. It's freakin tasty. It has about everything you can imagine on it. Multiple egg types including a made to order omelette station and eggs benedict, meats including bacon and sausage, breakfast breads sweet and savory, and fresh fruit. It's your local watering hole for the locals & the "I need a beer after work" crowd. It's right by a small body of water called Taylor lake,you can't see much from the pub but you can from the parking lot! It's clean & well managed. The staff are attentive,efficient & always ready to join in the shop talk going on. Beware of the NASA geeks! The parking lot offers loads of space unless you go from Thursday-Sunday,then it's each men for himself. They have a great beer selection but also offer full bar,I'm a big cider fan. Even though they no longer have woodchuck available which was my go to cider,I have discovered a few better options! Good happy hours & weekly specials. I really like the pizza chips,they come with 2 dippings sauces. They are simple,to the point & easily sharable. The food is consistent & comes out quickly. The pizzas are good as well & people say the burgers are as well. The outdoor patio is great on a lovely day,bring your pet along with you but do keep in mind that it does get busy. I've had many friends bring their kids & oder off the kids menu for the little ones. The atmosphere is great! Tons of TVs everywhere for all your sports watching needs. I love all the beer signs, I want to take some home with me. There is a patio area that allows your dog to join you. Inside there is tons of room for groups to sit together. They also have quite a large bar area if you just need a drink. Boondoggles is one of the best places to get beer in the Clear Lake area. They have a large selection and try to rotate it as often as possible. They have about 15 taps with a good bottle list as well. Not only do they have a good beer menu but also a good food menu. They are known for their pizza in the wood burning oven and you can't go wrong with any of them. I love classic pizzas so the Margherita pizza is my favorite. But my family also loves the Robusto. We tried the wings for the first time this weekend and they were great! I would compare them to real Buffalo from Buffalo, NY. I also tried the ceviche while was very tangy with lime juice and is full of shrimp and scallops. We also love the pizza chips. They are the perfect appetizer with beer since they are cheesy and salty. I love both the ranch and tomato dipping sauces and are really good mixed. Parking is a little crazy. I suggest you pull into the parking lot from Lakeshore (the interestion nearest the restaurant on Nasa Pkwy). This will put you closest to the most parking. If you pull into the parking lot right off Nasa you will have to zig zag throughout the lot to find a spot as many of the other restaurants have reserved many of those spots. read more

I say 5-stars but ill admit to potential bias. This place is my savior on miserable work trips to NASA. No matter how stressed and exhausted I am this place makes it all right! With that said the pizza is top notch by any standard. Not gonna win any international awards but it is legit stuff made fresh and made well. I do not know of anywhere with better beer in Houston. The servers know their beer and love their beer and that makes the selection process and enjoyment process a lot more fun. i love this bar so much, i bought a house within walking distance. the waiters are friendly, the place is always packed, the beer selection is fabulous, and the bartenders really know what they're doing. it's like the clear lake version of cheers! i have so many awesome memories in this place, can't wait to get my own mug. the only thing that would really bring boon's up a notch would be trivia and some pool tables. i recommend the Tejas pizza, and the pizza chips. the free popcorn is awesome too. ask for it spicy! read more

I practically lived here between 2000-2003 and spent probably half of all my waiter earnings here or at Maribelle's. The bartenders became friends and were always wonderful to my colleagues. The Seabrook hospitality scene tends to help one another out, though. Sometimes the bartenders would let us put in a late-night pizza order if we were doing waiter check-outs and not leaving the restaurant until close to closing time (2am). But even if we arrived at 1:45, we knew there'd be a beer and pizza waiting for us. It's a nice sized bar with lots of tables, a tiny fireplace, dart boards, and a looong bar to sit at. Their menu has expanded over the years and I was happy to eat there with my parents, brother, and husband this summer when we visited. Some places never change, in the best way. We'd always come here on Christmas nights, too, to hang out in a big group and ring in the holiday. Happy to see how well this place is doing and that it is as great as it was nearly 15 years ago when I was a regular. Particularly since the seafood place it neighbors has changed hands/names/foods lots of time over the years. Seabrookians are always looking for places to be Regulars at. That's a fact. read more

Oh gosh I want to give this place a higher rating. I know they have potential based on the appitizer i ordered and these high reviews but I simply think we ordered the wrong food. They were stuffed with shrimp and cream cheese and most times when people try to pull the stuffed jalapeno off, they forget the spice it's supposed to have. Nope, not good ole Boondoggles. These jalapenos were hot, spicy, and slightly crispy on the outside. They set the bar so high on food, me and my bf just knew all the food served here would be on this level...... *sigh* He ordered chicken fried ribeye which tasted like chewy low budget bland steak. He sent it back and opted for the chicken florentini which wasn't that much better but it was edible. I ordered the jalapeno bacon shrimp with rigitoni pasta and trust me it only sounds good. Our waitress was the sweetest person ever and she too is the reason i gave this place 3 stars. We were seated immediately and service was fast. I didn't know what to order from the bar so she brought me something based on what i like to drink. Awesome! This place is literallly in the same parking lot as Chelsea Wine Bar so parking got a bit out of control once the sun started going down. read more

Nice watering hole with good pizza. The draught beer selection is quite extensive and cosmopolitan in range with a healthy representation by Texas brewers. One would expect the Saint Arnold choices to be greater given their proximity to the brewery, but that was not the case. The service can leave something to be desired. We went twice during our extended weekend trip and got marginal attention from the beer wenches on both occasions. It seemed that if we were not college kids or lonesome business men, then the service was basic. During our second visit, we were seated in the fireplace hearth. It was very cozy. The brick walls and projected mantle dampened the noise from the rest of the room quite a bit. Highly recommended for couples looking for intimacy. One downer was that they floated two beers that were prominently featured. The first was New Belgium 1554, which had just been tapped the night before; the other was Real Ale Full Moon Rye, tagged as "recommended". One would assume the latter to be in abundant supply. I will cut them a little slack on the deficit though, given that it was the last weekend of Spring Break and the place was packed both nights we were there. Overall an enjoyable pub. My husband I were recently visiting some friends in the Clear Lake area and went here for lunch one day. They have a large and diverse menu which kept the six of us (four adults, two kids) quite happy. I got the shrimp po boy, which was perhaps larger than my head. Don't think I didn't finish the whole thing, though. My husband got a burger, and other folks got burgers and pizzas and we were all happy. What's not to love about Boons? I probably come here on average once a week. The food is great. My favorites are the John Dough pizza, bruschetta (seriously good), and the ceviche. Don't forget to ask for the free popcorn! And on Wednesdays it's 'big ass beer night' - so you can get a larger oz. beer for the price of a regular one. They have other specials throughout the week too: Mondays are steak night, Thursdays are crab legs, crawfish (when in season). The prices are very reasonable and the service is quick. The beer selection is great and they are always getting new seasonal brews in. The patio is first come, first serve and the indoor seating is nice too. They have dart boards that are open on nights when they aren't too busy. They also have a place to tie up if you want to come by boat! My only complaint is sometimes the service can just be okay - but for the most part they are on top of it! read more
