It's on expensive side, but part of the cost is definitely for the experience, which is well worth it. All in all, everyone had an amazing time. Everything is already on the expensive side which is fine as it's a nice restaurant but the additional service charge was too much. Also the percentage options were incorrect. The amount it told me to tip to make it 18% was actually 26%. Probably an issue with their POS and not them but seems like a money grab and something they should prioritize fixing.

We stood there for a minute and the restaurant phone rang, which she answered. After standing there for 5-7 minutes, she came back and seated us. As we approached the table, we noticed that it still had plates and bowls leftover from the previous customer. The busser quickly removed them and wiped the table down for us to take a seat. The server came over relatively quickly and was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was two of us, we wanted to try a range of things but our main focus was ramen. We decided to order some edamame to start, which was okay. It wasn't super fresh, but overall it was decent. For our main course, we ordered the kaizen and the hafu sushi. We ordered the Obon ramen to split. Not long after ordering our food came out. The server was really attentive and placed our ramen in two separate bowls for us. As far as flavor goes, the Obon was extremely spicy. I'm a spicy girlie and I couldn't even eat it. I ate the noodles, but the broth was too much for me. I passed it on to my husband and to my surprise, he actually ate it (he doesn't like spice). I think his sore throat trumped the spice. The kaizen roll was really good. We actually loved that. The hafu, not so much. The cilantro flavor was a little too heavy on the roll itself. We would definitely give this place another try if ever in the area, but maybe order something different.

It's well placed amounst popular resorts, endless choices of golf courses, high end shopping, Spas and other eateries. For our of state visitors it is located in an area that provides a great destination for conferences and vacation launching point to enjoy what Scottsdale has to offer. Parking 5/5 There is a great turn-about like drop off near the front door I took advantage of. Other semi private parking is located along the west and south in front and behind the restaurant. Ambiance 5/5++ After passing through the foyer, you're greeted by staff receptionists who quickly get your experience started. The restaurant opens up to a large open dining space that includes an impressive "baresk" wrap around serving counter which allows guests to experience and interact with the kitchen staff. Adjacent to the main dining area is a very trendy wraparound bar and a little more intimate lounge with tables for guest meetups, date nights, after business meetings or relax after playing 18 holes at a nearby course. Facing the bar is the wine cellar, a floor to ceiling long glass presentation of their collection. There is a separate special event room in the back for hosting private dinners with special event reservations. Tonight this room was reserved for Yelp's "Elite All-Stars" and hosted by the Roka-Akar and the wonderful Phoenix Yelp Community Manager (CM) Francheska J, I popped my head in to say hello to her and she was kind enough to give me some merch.
