Bulgogi Rice Bowl - (C Tier) - nothing too stunning about this. A little too sweet for my taste and there wasn't really any robust flavors that wowwed me. For $11 however I'd go back here.
Delicious nom nom noms & decent value in this economy. In this economy? Flying back into SAN, Liberty Station is a favorite stop of mine before heading home. & getting off the plane hungry means Liberty Public Market for me. So many choices, so little room in my belly. This last time through, after being retrieved from the terminal by my fiancée, BOPJO Korean Mexican Grill was the choice. It's in the corner of the Mess Hall across from Bottlecraft. Bites & beers? Yes, please. Service was friendly & informative. Since this was my 1st time trying this place, I went with 1 of their more popular dishes: Kimchi Fried Rice Spam Bowl, w/ a fried egg on top. It took a little while even though it wasn't busy. When it was ready, what I got made me happy. It was a good sized portion that was so tasty & so flavorful. Though filling enough, it was the kind of deliciousness that I could've just kept eating & eating & eating. Next time. BOPJO Korean Mexican Grill is a dining option in Liberty Public Market I'd definitely come back for.
Flavor is pretty solid. Think the tacos had a lot of sauce but could have used more cabbage to cut through it - i got the mandoo and gochujang. Some of the wings were pretty tiny.
Bopjo has one of the best locations in Liberty Market....right by Bottlecraft! BOPJO has something for everyone- burritos, bowls, and sandwiches. Plenty of protein choices too! I wasn't in the mood for chicken, pork, or steak and was pleasantly surprised to see a poke bowl on the menu. The portion was pretty large and super filling. Lots of fresh ingredients and you can pick two sauces. They have a wide range of sauces...even super spicy ones. The employee was friendly and walked us through the ordering process. Once you order, you'll get a pager to be notified when your food is ready. We sat at Bottlecraft's bar so we had a birdseye view of everything. Cooked to order, packaged well, and all with a smile. 5 stars. Don't miss this spot in Liberty Market!
My husband ordered a spam misubi and a Kimchee roll and I took bites of each one. They were freshly made and piping hot - yum! It did seem to take a little longer for the food to come out but this was during dinner rush so I can't be upset about that. They seem to have specials throughout the week so be sure to check that out. Overall a very solid food choice!
Got the Spicy Pork Bowl. My friend ordered the Beef Bulgogi. Both were tasty and staff quickly prepared our food. I loved all the sauce options. I opted for the gochujang in the bowl and spicy aioli on the side. The rice, salad, and japchae included in the bowl were all delicious. Best japchae I've ever had. Service was great, and there was plenty of seating even on a Saturday. The ambiance is food hall style, but there is enough room to comfortably dine and talk with friends and family.
My first time here and there was no line when I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly and my order was ready fairly quickly. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi Rice Bowl and you get to choose two sauces. I went with the Gochujang and the Kimchi Jalapeño Ranch, and I loved both. The beef was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I really enjoyed the rice bowl and would definitely order it again.
Korean poke bowl - I think I was expecting more but it was a poke bowl like most other places. Half rice, half salad with half salmon and half tuna, and topped with gochujang and spicy aioli. It was ok.
One of my favorite spots here at liberty station, I love the diversity in food, the fusion and flavors. They have a good variety menu, I really enjoyed my kimbap musubi and I loved the crunch and flavor of my nachos, nice twist off the fries. The Garlic wings were really good too. Service is great. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Lots of other restaurants in the market. Definitely try!
Chill option. Will do for a healthier meal option imo. Not the best version of each item in the bowl, but it did the job. I don't hate it.
Of the countless food options that exist inside Liberty Station, BOPJO caught my eye because it seemed to be the one thing that stood out from the rest of the food in the building. A unique take on Korean and Mexican food, I was happy to have been able to give it a try. Also, it was one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in the building. I ordered a popcorn chicken bowl with a spice level of 3 out of 5 and a loaded kimbap musubi. I enjoyed the bowl a lot more, though it wasn't exceptional, I was a fan of the large portion they gave me. The musubi was sort of falling apart before I even began to eat it, and to be honest, it looked a lot bigger in the photos they had of it on the menu. One thing that I really loved was the salsa verde I had that came with my bowl. It was the spiciest sauce they had out of all their sauces and it was amazing. It was at that level of very spicy but I could still enjoy my food at the same time. It really helped give the bowl and extra kick.
I ordered the beef bulgogi beef and was very excited when I got my order. It comes with half rice, half salad, and japchae and kimchi as toppings. What was disappointing was that my salad was gross. It consisted of mostly wilted decaying greens. There's no way the preparer could not have known so that's disappointing. Not very honest as a business. I went back to tell them and ask for a fresh batch. Flavor, cut, and cook of the beef was also mediocre. It wasn't the thinly sliced beef that's grilled or stir fried. It was more like chunky rectangles that were over cooked. Would not recommend for the price. Looks nice. Very misleading.
Located inside the Liberty Market and conveniently by one of the exits, Bopjo was a good find. Service was good. She was helpful. I got 2 tacos and was able to mix and match with tofu and soyrizo. O got the gochujang sauce and loved it! I really like the fusion of both Korean and Mexican flavors. I'm glad I have it a try!
Really enjoyed Bopjo Korean inside the Liberty Station Food Hall! The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The fries were delicious...crispy, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. I also really loved the Korean fusion concept and the creativity that went into the dishes. It's fun seeing familiar flavors presented in a different way, and everything felt unique without being overcomplicated. Great little spot to check out while you're at Liberty Station. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu! read more

Love the concept-Korean Mexican flavors. The reason for 4 stars is because the Mexican flavors were lacking. I ordered a tuna poke bowl and while it was delicious, it was missing something crunchy like fried onions or fresh jalapeños. The husband ordered the beef bulgogi rice bowl and the beef was a bit on the salty side. But it was still good. The kimchi fried rice was delicious. I think the best dish was the Gangnam loaded fries. We're from out of town and this place reminds us a little bit like Philly's Reading Terminal but less crowded and chaotic. It's definitely slower paced than the Reading Terminal. read more

This place was a surprise. We found it toward the back of the market. It was awesome that they offered cheese instead of tortillas since my sister had many allergies. She had several choices available. It was also very nice to sit on the big outside patio. A very relaxed vibe. read more
ORDER bulgogi beef burrito (3.5/5) -- w/ kimchi jalapeño ranch overall, the burrito was pretty dry and you can only really taste the kimchi rice. the burrito would've been better if the cabbage was some type of slaw to enhance the flavor and help with the dryness. there is VERY little meat given. the bulgogi beef had no flavor as well. essentially, the burrito was just rice and cabbage. the burrito comes with sauce on the side, but not enough is given considering the size of the burrito. we went with the kimchi jalapeño ranch, which didn't have much of a kimchi flavor and was super light. SERVICE (5/5) nothing special about the service. the wait felt quick. AMBIANCE this is located in the food court right where the liberty public market sign is. there are a ton of food places as well as both indoor and outdoor seating. read more

This place is located in the beer hall/brewery area of Liberty Public Market, and I've been eyeing this place for a while! I'm glad I got to try it recently because I liked it! I love Korean food, so it's always exciting to see a Korean spot (even if its Korean fusion) in a diverse food hall with different cuisines. I went for the Bulgogi Beef bowl, which includes rice, greens, japchae, kimchi, and choice of 2 sauces. I chose the spicy aioli and the kimchi jalapeno ranch, which were both so good! As for the bowl itself, it is a little smaller than your typical bibimbap bowl (rice bowl) you get at a Korean restaurant, but it's a decent size for a filling meal. Japchae was a little hard and overly chewy, but flavor was still on point, so I was okay with it. Bowl was about $15 for all of this. Food was made super quickly, so everything is probably already made and just scooped together cafeteria style, however, they must get busy at times because they do give you a beeper to alert you when food is ready - something to keep in mind. read more
BOPJO is a Mexican-Korean fusion. Overall, their food was pretty average. Nothing in particular was extra special, but not like the food tasted bad either. I wish their meat was more tender and juicy, but ended up being kinda tough pieces of beef and pork. Got their beef bulgogi bowl, which was well-portioned. Their spicy pork tacos was also filling, and I'm always a sucker for corn tortillas for tacos. Their sauces were also decent. But again, nothing to go gaga for, however a decent meal. They are located in Liberty Public Market. Service was quick, server was nice with good recommendations, food came out in a reasonable time. No big complaints here! read more
I ordered a beef bulgogi rice bowl dressed with gochujang and kimchi jalapeño ranch with a side of miso soup and a kimbap musician. The rice bowl was layered with an exciting combination of ingredients, flavors and textures that landed perfectly. This location is set in the Liberty Station Public Market, which is a great gathering place filled with many vendors. The restaurant is counter service and the seating is open and shared with the rest of the Market. I will definitely order from Bopjo in the future! read more
I love Korean and Mexican fusion food! There were so many things I wanted to try on this menu. This particular stall is kinda hidden away from the main center area of the market so I wish I had seen it first, otherwise I would've ordered more here first before some other places. I'm deeply regretting not getting the mandu burrito because where else could I possibly find that?! We decided to get the kimbap musubi to share. Isn't kimbap basically musubi and vice versa? I don't know but it was delicious! Basically the standard kimbap ingredients but inside a musubi shape. It was stuffed with tender bulgogi, lots of japchae, and a thick sweet egg. I liked the crunch and tartness from the pickled radish. It was a reasonable price too since you get two pieces. Would definitely order again! read more

Loved the Korean California burrito, it was perfectly made, toasted on the outside and you can see all the ingredients in the cut halves. It's a large portion so it was perfect for sharing with my friend. Also loved the spam musubi with sweet egg, spam, and kimchi fried rice. all of their musubis sound delicious so it was so hard to pick one, hope to come back and try the other ones! The food hall also has a nice outdoor area to sit and enjoy. read more
The many restaurants that I have been to in the past and those that have been to in the past many cities they have many tastes for different and the places which you can say are the places of the food markets and the many Mexican and British and European food markets. There are many foods that have been the first time around when I had received the RSVP, I thought the restaurant was going to be Chinese I took a lo0ok at the food online and what BOPJO meant yes it does look good. It was the weekend that I took the bus over to the Liberty Station taking the trolley out to the Old Town Trolley and taking the Bus 28 to the Liberty Station the bus trip was short the site of the base was one of the large size walking in and making my way down through the main parking lot it was one of the largest having to go by the many larger buildings and head to the back of the base. When you come to Liberty Station you have so many areas and the old history of the first Military Naval Base of San Diego the large rooms with the barracks you pass by which have been turned into the many retail and design stores for the Liberty Station. It took me about 25minutes to find the market and the many restaurants that they have inside the one thing that gave me the Indication was the large outdoor dining area with the many tables. Walki9ng to find one place reminds me of the many places in Las Vegas you do have to walk to many places on the Las Vegas Strip this area was one of the largest with the many restaurants and the delis they had gave me the indication the place was going in through the front doors of the market. There was a lot of people inside with the many people and the customers that were going to the many eateries and specialty shops it was like you had walked into the largest British Market the one that got my attention was the Korean BBQ. The many people that were ordering with the small area of the restaurant it was like the location was still getting things put in with the sign that was half lit and the Milar boards that were a dark yellow and brown most of the food choices they had were in ink pen posted on the wall next to the register. The welcome to the restaurant that I had to tell the cashier I was here for the Elite event she asked me for my name she was happy and smiling to see there was allot of people that had been crossed of the list. She asked me for my order taking a look at the menu boards there were some dishes that I had seen before the cashier had a list of food items that was for the event that were printed in dark ink the ones that I liked was the Korean BBQ tacos she told me they were Bela gong beef tacos with Kimchi sweet pickle relish and sweet sauce on the meat. The cashier gave me beeper for when my order was ready, I took a few minutes and look at the large food market holding the beeper it was about 7 minutes with the beeper had signaled me the food was ready. The food was placed in a brown grease resistant box with the heat was under the mark to have food that was cooked on the grill to see the size of the restaurant and the cooking area. I found seats outside in the dining area of the Liberty Food Market there was a lot of people I was still able find seats they had tables and chairs where I could sit down and enjoy the food. From the great service and the packaging, the time was a great service time with the heat level that was the question. I opened the container with the looks of the food have the looks of great tacos with the green onions and the Kimchi with good beef tacos they have the aroma the spicy was sweeter and the taste of the beef was very good combined with the green onions some of the best served in Corn Tortillas very fresh mild on the warm very fresh. The beef is one of the best and the flavor it could use more of the heat and serve hot the presentation and the food prep very nicely done. The other restaurants and the many flavors of the food it has the best presentation and to return back I would like to try the other dishes to taste the heat in the meat the presentation of the food very well done. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, of the food that I had the many flavors it was the best to see combination of Mexican and the Korean BBQ the food at BOPJO is one that has the mix of flavors combined with the taste of Mexican tastes they have good location, and the food is one that with the many Ingredients that I had tasted is one of the best with the taste of the grill BBQ is going to be one of the best foods. read more
This place is a good option in liberty station. Not best Korean food I have ever had but not bad at all. Filled with flavor and good kimchi. I was just content with this place. Gangnam dirty fries were a good choice I may comeback and try something else! read more
I wouldn't say it's amazing Korean food, but it's ok. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I got the rice bowl (made it into kimchi fried rice for an extra $2) with bulgogi and gochuchang on top. I LOVED the gochuchang on top, it really added a nice kick to the bowl. However, the meat was not tender at all, and the flavor of it was just... meh. I expected more. I also didn't love the kimchi fried rice; it tasted salty and bland. Maybe I would have loved the bowl more if I just did the white rice instead of the kimchi fried rice. The Gangnam fries though were spectacular. I don't think there was enough kimchi on it. It was kinda just like cheesy fries with bulgogi (I recommend adding bulgogi). It was so yummy, and the portions were generous. Overall, I'd eat at Bopjo again, but it wouldn't be my first choice among the other options at the Public Market. read more
Located on the side of Liberty Public Market in the beer hall area is BOPJO. I got the veggie bibimbap bowl. Huge portion and so delicious. The only thing I'd change is the amount of sauce. The rice at the bottom needed more sauce as I worked my way down. The service was super fast. And I will definitely try more items next time! read more

Friendly service and as a previous reviewer mentioned they give you a beeper which I like because then you can walk around without worrying about missing your order. The bowl comes with half spring mix and half rice, it would add to the flavor if the spring mix had a dressing on it. The bulgogi was very flavorful and I like that they had chopped up kimchi inside as well. You get to choose two sauces, I ordered gochujang and spicy aioli. Prince is around $15. read more
BOPJO is another vendor inside the Mess Hall section of Liberty Public Market. The concept is Korean BBQ meats in a rice bowl, burrito, or taco. They also offer small bites on the menu like dirty fries with different toppings. Instead of the above choices, I selected a kimchi fried rice spam bowl and an order of deep fried mandoo which was pork and veggie dumplings. The five dumplings were fried nicely and tasted good with the sauces drizzled on top. The spam bowl wasn't as well executed. The rice was too soggy instead of being fluffy. I would not order this item again. I probably should have stuck to one of my first inclinations which was a burrito. The price for a meat filled burrito seemed expensive to me though. Overall, I gave a 3.5 star rating for my experience at BOPJO. read more

We go to Liberty Public Market a lot, unfortunately we haven't got to try any of the other food choices because Bopjo is THAT good that we can't not get it. It is truly amazing and is a food unicorn. We love their bulgogi beef rice bowl. It is one of the best things I've ever eaten. read more

My new go to at the public market. The bowls are so comforting! They are a rice and salad base with japchae and a protein. I got the tofu that was very flavorful. I added an egg and mandoo on top too. This bowl was so delicious and just hit the spot! Always love some good Korean food and I liked all the variety in the bowl. I also like the way their kimchee is prepared. It's all minced into small pieces instead of giant cabbage pieces. read more
