Best pho place ever!!!! Food was amazing and customer service was amazing!!! Would definitely come here again

To say this place is just "great" is an understatement. We came in and were immediately greeted by a welcoming presence from everyone inside along with some pretty great music. Not just that, the food was to die for. Our server, Minh was extremely personable and sweet, making us laugh multiple times throughout our meal. The energy he brought during our dinner made it all the more better. If you're craving some vietnamese food you 100% should come here!! Definitely will be coming back! read more

Visit June 2026 This place has changed a bit over the past several visits. The food, obviously most important, is still great. I ordered the pho with rare steak and brisket. I literally finished the bowl which is a pretty good serving of noodles and minute of meat. Their broth, as I mentioned in first review is clean and worth sipping even after you've downed the noodles and beef. What has changed is the atmosphere. The staff seems a bit younger now and that may be the cause. The service was much more attentive and friendly. They played a lot of current hits (I can tell bc my 22 yo's kept looking at each other when a song popped up. (Nothing offensive). There was literally a sign at the front warning "loud music" lol. They stay open late so maybe they expect some revelers. read more

I decided to try this place because it was advertised as being open late, which is always a plus when you work odd hours. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a casual pho spot, and the food came out super quick, which I really appreciate. I ordered the rare steak pho and was surprised by how thick the beef was. I'm used to the steak being very thinly sliced, but these pieces were thick enough that I needed a fork and knife to cut them up. It was a generous portion, but just not what I was expecting. The noodles were great and the broth was really yummy. Overall, I enjoyed the pho, but I'd prefer the beef to be sliced much thinner. read more

We decided to check this place out after a poor experience at golf galaxy (do not go, they are wack) You know its a decent place when the place is homey inside and its very casual. The service was great, our server really brightened up our day with his demeanor and attitude. We ordered 2 phos, and a rice plate and they came out very quickly. I had the steak and tendon pho, and my dad got the combination. They were very attentive and the tables were already set up with everything you need napkins, salt and pepper, hoisin, srirachi, utensils. The place is very spacious as well! The Pho was a great portion, noodles to soup was perfect for what I wanted. The broth was tasty imo and i was very happy with the amount of meat and tendon I had in my bowl. My dad pretty much annihilated his, no words, so thats usually a good sign he liked it. He normally complains LOL We also ordered the egg rolls which came out at the same time as the food, so it was a pleasant dinner. The rice plate was pretty big so we ended up taking that home and having it for 2nd dinner. One of the worst pho places I've ever been to. Broth tasted like nothing, there was a ridiculous amount of white onion on top. Service was quick but nonexistent, the main cashier just kinda sat behind the counter most of the time. The menu was also fully AI which is super disappointing. read more

I was around the area and really wanted pho even though it was a hot San Diego day. Parking was easy in the large lot right in front and it's an inviting storefront. It was decorated for lunar new year and had an inviting vibe with club-type music playing. I was also happy I could sit outside with my dog. The staff was very friendly and efficient and everything came out very promptly. Their menu also has a good variety, but since I had the pho craving I went with the rare steak & brisket. Wow the bowl and amount of noodles/meat was huge. The soup also had a good flavor although it could have been a little hotter. The meat was also flavorful and plentiful. For the amount of food you get, I'd say their prices are very decent. I will have to return to try their bahn mi and rice dishes. read more

We visited The Phở Shop on Sunday night around 8:20 PM and were seated right away. What stood out immediately was the club-like atmosphere -- they play surprisingly loud, energetic music, which gives the place a unique, lively vibe. We ordered the Pho #1 ($17.99) -- it was excellent! Huge portion, rich and flavorful broth, and a generous mix of steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, beef ball, and even shrimp. I couldn't finish it all! We also got the Chicken Wings with Garlic Butter ($18) -- super tasty and nicely seasoned. The service was great -- friendly and fast. We also noticed photos on the wall showing that even former U.S. presidents have visited their restaurants in Vietnam, which was impressive and fun to see. We'll definitely be back! read more

Pho is one of my favorite dishes when the weather gets cooler. It is also a favorite of mine when I'm feeling a little under the weather and need a bit of a boost. I had passed by The Pho Shop many times, so when I found myself coming down with a cold recently, I decided to order in. My typical order is mixed seafood pho and an order of fresh spring rolls, which is exactly what I ordered from The Pho Shop. As it is near my home, the order was still nice and hot when it was delivered to my door. It was nice that the pho came in disposable bowls that you could actually eat from (correctly shaped), though I chose to use my own bowl anyway. What I liked about this pho was that the portions of white fish were plentiful. What I did not like was that the broth was relatively bland and took a bit of effort to flavor. The spring rolls had a good flavor, but unfortunately they were slightly falling apart. The other thing that I did not like, is that the shrimp tails were on the shrimp in both the pho and spring rolls, which were a bit of a pain to have to cut off, especially the ones inside the spring rolls. All in all, it was a decent meal, but probably not my favorite pho in the area. read more

Most of the meat were delicious and some pieces were hard and inedible. The Thai tea and egg rolls were delicious. In town for work and looking for late night Asian spot and came across this place. Arrived at 11pm and surprisingly quite busy. Tried out their beef shank pho, egg rolls and chicken wings. Let's start off with the egg rolls, good filling, but not crispy enough IMO. Chicken wings with garlic sauce is quite nice and just right, in good size too. The beef shank pho came with a lot of meat, thin slices and big pieces which is a good size for me, but one down side is the soup base is a little to the sweeter side for my taste or comparing to other pho restaurant. Overall, not bad for the price and great options for late night grab if you are craving for hot soup noodle. read more

I've had so many pho's in my life...how people can give this a 4-5 and say the food is good is beyond me... The fact that the place was empty with not one other patron should've been a telltale sign but if we never try...we'll never know... The rare steak pho - the broth was dark and murky. Typically the broth should be clear in the way that it shouldn't have a lot of sediment floating around... The color of the steak was so off, light and kind of grey...it was such an odd color. It really looked more like pork than beef. We also had the vermicelli bowl with egg rolls & grilled shrimp and chicken. I'm sorry but this had to be the worst vermicelli bowls we've had. The vermicelli was undercooked and hard...the sauce was weird and bland. It wasn't the typical clear watery fish sauce type. It looked like a store bought sweet chilli sauce. The bowl was so unsatisfying and a chore to eat. I would give this a 1 but the service was good so I'll add an extra but unfortunately we will not be back. read more

First time coming here and it was on a Friday night. We had a party of 8 and tables were empty and we were quickly seated. It was not busy at all. But considering location is hard to find and most people are next door getting bbq. The pho broth is a bit sweeter than savory here. The appetizers are ok. The server is really sweet and attentive ! I love Pho and was craving it after shopping at the Kobey's swap meet and they did not disappoint. The food came out in literally under 5 minutes. After a little shopping, my daughter and I had worked up an appetite. We got to The Pho Shop a little after 2, so the lunch rush was no more and it was empty. We were promptly seated. The menu had more than pho to offer, but both my daughter and I ordered the #8 a rare beef and brisket pho. It was served within 10 minutes or so, piping hot and fresh with the traditional garnish. Reviews rave about the broth, and I see why. It's delicious - clear and full of flavor! The portion is super generous with plenty of noodles and meat, and it could have fed both my daughter and I. Next time we'll order one to share. We also ordered drinks. I got a Thai iced tea and my daughter the taro smoothie with boba. We enjoyed those as well! I would have given this place 5 stars, but once the food was served the staff disappeared - perhaps enjoying lunch themselves in the back. I helped myself to some takeout containers and packed our leftovers up. I had to ring the bell a few times and knock on the kitchen door to get someone's attention so we could pay. Another guest who was there rang the bell a few more times. Someone finally came out and promptly rang us up. My daughter really loved it (better than a place in our area) and said a few times that we need to come back. We live about 30 minutes away, but we'll def make that happen. It's worth it! I'd give this place ten stars if I could. I started coming here a year ago when I was living in Ocean Beach and it quickly became my favorite pho place in San Diego. The staff is so, so sweet and accommodating. You can tell this shop was created out of love, the decor is modern and inviting and has all kinds of fun trinkets displayed all over. Their broth is fabulous and the beef is always fresh. I moved up to north county but I never hesitate to visit this gem whenever I'm in the area.
