    Mango bingsu

It's been a while since I've been to Bori and my brother wanted to try the new location. It's definitely closer to home, which is nice, and still maintains that fancy vibe. We opted for the butcher's choice. They cook the meat for you and it is portioned out well. The sides are good, but a little sparse, although you can ask for refills. We also got the raw marinated crabs, which my family liked, soft and flavorful. It does feel pretty expensive for what you get, but the meat quality is good. We ended with a mango bingsu, which was a little disappointing because the mangos were sour and frozen solid. We should have gotten the hotteok ice cream, to be honest. Overall, it's a great, high-end experience. It's not cheap and you won't leave feeling like you ate way too much, but if you're looking for a classy KBBQ experience, this is the place!

This was my first time trying the Bori in Montrose and I had an amazing experience. Ambiance, food selection, and service was spot on. We got the Bori Beef Cuts selected cuts and you can't miss out on the marinated short rib, it's juicy and flavorful. The restaurant looks like it used to be a house but the interior and exterior is very upscale and Korean-themed. Our server, Jaden, was very attentive and cooked our meat very well. Great service!

I've eaten Korean food all over the globe to include in Korea.... And would definitely come back to Bori. The ambience, quality, taste of food was very, very good. The restaurant is on the higher-end scale -- more traditional and where you want to go for a memorable evening. If you're looking for an all you can eat and don't care as much about the ambience than this may not be the place for you. The service was great, the food was quality and traditional. Again, would absolutely come back.

We've always been fans of the Bori Spring Branch location, so we are excited to finally check out the new Montrose location. Since we came on a weekday, parking was easy in their lot and surrounding streets (although other reviews mentioned the lot becomes valet only during busier times). We were seated on the first floor, not sure if this location has an art gallery or not. The menu is identical to the Spring Branch location, same with the complementary banchan. We ordered the usual seafood pancake, the small butcher's feast, and tried out marinated crabs and beef carpaccio. The seafood pancake was excellent, the marinated crabs were flavorful and fresh, the beef carpaccio on the other hand was disappointing. Our server grilled the meat diligently, but overall service was hit-or-miss. The dining room layout made for a noisy experience, conversations from nearby tables carried easily and were quite distracting. Overall the food remains consistent, but the Spring Branch location is still better in my opinion.

We visit the Spring Branch of BORI as the go to higher end KBBQ spot often so it's nice that they opened a location closer inside the loop. Located near Montrose, parking is available in their interior lot or street parking. This location is also a house like structure but is missing the art museum. Service is fine but not great, definitely a step below their OG location. The staff seems new-ish and are definitely a bit below the pace. The food is solid; we got the seafood pancake, raw crabs, and beef carpaccio for apps; the beef carpaccio was not good, at a 2/5. The seafood pancake is a solid 5/5 as always and the raw crab was well marinated and tasted fresh; the number in the very small portion size of the dish; 4/5. For the meats, we got the smaller butcher's feast combo with an extra side of beef tongue. The meats are decent quality and the pork jowl was especially textured. Overall, a solid spot and a newer interior is a more posh area of town. I think their OG location still has its charms and higher level of service compared to this one.

Another excellent choice by my friend for our monthly dinners! He never ever gets it wrong lol. He made reservations for us so when we arrived our table was ready. Our eyes definitely were bigger than our bellies because we ordered sooo much food! Everything was a hit! Located in Montrose on a quiet street. Small lot, Street parking and valet available. The establishment is a house converted into the restaurant and it's really nice. Our waiter Sang was the best. Definitely one of the better Korean Steakhouses in Houston! Items we ordered. I might have missed a few things. But everything was a 10/10 Beverages Strawberry Moon Mocktail Lychee Martini Sprite Dr. Pepper Food Japache Fried Korean dumplings Bulgogi tteokbokki Bori beef cuts (L) Bulgogi Kimchi stew Corn cheese 10/10 Steamed egg

My boyfriend and I love BORI! We have been to both Spring Branch and Montrose locations, and it never disappoints. The building is beautiful and has such an upscale feel. Additionally, the service is always amazing. We came once on New Year's and got served complimentary tteokguk! We typically order the small bori beef cuts set which is the perfect amount for 2 people. Overall, the meats are all high quality and taste great. Beef belly (5/5)- Classic, staple, hard to go wrong with. Soy ginger NY strip/ NY strip (4/5) - A bit tougher to chew but great flavor Marinated boneless short rib/ Seasoned boneless short rib (5/5)- My personal favorite! The meat is much fattier, and the flavor is rich. The sets come with cheese corn, kimchi stew, and steamed egg, which are nice additions. Banchans had a good variety, and the salad is refreshing. They all pair well with the meat!

Bori owns my heart (and my belly) Been a super fan of the original location but this one is closer and finally decided to try it on a weekday evening to celebrate my bestie. It's nestled in a nice subdivision and the restaurant is really pretty inside and outside. There is a small lot behind the building with an extended lot as well as street parking. Its two floors and dining area was a bit smaller and cozier than the original location. We had a wonderful server who was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. There are some items only available at the Montrose location. We ordered the small beef cuts set (small), japchae, and fried chilli eggplant. Beef cut set - beef belly, ribeye, marinated boneless spare ribs (5/5)- the beef was amazing quality and well cooked - they cook it to your liking, the spare ribs were marinated perfectly and so tender Corn cheese (comes with beef set) 4/5 - corn and cheese - who doesn't love it? Kimchi stew (comes with beef set 4/5 - there is a 2nd option - soy bean paste stew) - spicy but not overpowering and goes perfect with the rice Banchans - tons of Banchans and they were all good - I am obsessed with the pink radish as well as their salads (honestly it was all good) Japchae (5/5) - it's one of my fave things, the noodles are perfectly cooked and the seasoning is not overpowering, and it's light Fried chili eggplant (4/5) - only at Montrose - suggested by server and it was good - crunchy on the outside but tender on the inside, it wasn't spicy to us but it was still flavorful Hotteok ice cream (5/5) - only at Montrose - this was complimentary for bestie's birthday and it was sooooooo good, the server suggested vanilla ice cream and it paired so well - I can't explain it but everyone should try it yum It was a great meal and great company. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Def will be back esp since it's so close

Actually one of the better Korean BBQ places in Houston! We came during soft opening and was surprised to see where it was actually located. Right in the middle of a neighborhood, in what looks to be a huge house, Bori had nice street presence when you roll up. The grounds and the building are aesthetically pleasing. They were still construction the parking when we came but we were amazed by the place cause it was just so unexpected. The outside smelled delicious of KBBQ. The interior felt like a large house with multiple stories, but a very modern renovated home. The servers are there to cook and serve you all the meats! They have a party platter that offers a little taste of everything! I found the meats to be marinated well but sauces and greens to wrap. We really enjoyed all the dishes and side dishes here.. and the meat tasted like it was really high quality. Service was great and they routinely checked in. Overall, such a great addition to this neighborhood!

Very nice and delicious Korean food but definitely pricey Different than regular Korean bbq where you cook the food, they cook for you Ambiance is pretty nice too Would definitely come back

A great Korean BBQ restaurant in Montrose, so glad this placed opened up in my neighborhood! Located in a two-story, large house turned into a restaurant, this place looks modern and trendy. There is valet parking but also street parking in the neighborhood. Reservations are easy to make on OpenTable online. Service is great here! The hosts greet you as soon as you walk in and everyone is friendly and attentive. The waiters give great recommendations for food and portion sizes. Drinks: For alcohol they have beer, wine, and soju. I enjoy their Jinro Chamisul (original soju). But I've also tried their peach soju and it was too sweet for me. Onto the food, here's what I've tried here: - Seafood pancake: This dish is delicious!! If you like seafood, I highly recommend this. - Japchae: It was good but my least enjoyable dish here. - Premium beef cuts (L) with marinated short rib and dry-aged ribeye: This was served with corn cheese (yumm) , steamed egg (I love anything with eggs), and we opted for kimchi stew which was hot and fresh and not too spicy for me. The waiter cooks your meats for you, which I enjoy, and he will cook it to your desired preference. The meats came out juicy and tasty, they were all so delicious. - The meats also come out with side dishes (banchan) and they will refill each side, as needed. I've been here twice now, both times with a group of 4, and we've all been full with one appetizer and the premium beef cuts entree. Overall, this is definitely not your typical, casual Korean BBQ place. It's definitely pricier due to the location, high-end meats, and the fact that they cook the meats for you. Is worth it? To me, yes. If you have the luxury to splurge, I definitely recommend this place. Can't wait to come back!

First off, the restaurant is stunning! It's located in a renovated home and they've done a great job incorporating Korean architecture into the design. They also have free valet parking. I wasn't sure what to expect going in - if it was going to be AYCE k-bbq. But it's a la carte with a combination of k-bbq and non-kbbq options. They first served us a wide selection of different kinds of banchan, or side dishes, which were delicious. I especially enjoyed the sliced scallions with chili oil. For entrees, our table of 2 ordered a beef bulgogi bibimbap, perilla oil buckwheat noodles, and a ribeye combination that came with beef soup, lettuce (to make ssam), and some other items. Our server Tim was attentive and helpful, cooking the meat and offering suggestions for things to try off the menu. We ordered the hotteok for dessert per his recommendation, and it was awesome! Tasted like the fresh hotteok I had while visiting Busan. Personally, I don't eat beef or pork, so the menu was pretty limiting to me. I don't believe they had any chicken options, but they do have a few vegetarian salads and seafood options on the menu. Overall, this is a lovely k-bbq place with great ambiance, delicious banchan, and friendly service.

First time at BORI and I think it's now in my top 4 Korean barbecue places I've ever been to. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was great, the menu was very easy to read and had lots of options. My only complaint was that I didn't know that the set meals came with a salad because it didn't say on the menu as it only said it came with steamed egg, soup, corn cheese, so that is the only reason why we ordered an additional salad. I'll be lenient on my review and not mark points off for that reason. All the side dishes were amazing quality. with the meat being the main show; the ribeye melted in the mouth, the short rib had good flavor, and the pork belly was great. I highly recommend this place and I would come back.

It's clear the restaurant is very intentional about their food choices. The manager even wrote a personalized birthday card for me and gave us a follow up call the next day to check in on our experience which was very kind of them. In regards to the food, it was delicious but we didn't find it exceptional enough to justify the high price point. The meal started off with complimentary bread service that you could choose with sea salt or garlic parmesan topping. The bread was so fluffy, warm, and comforting. We ordered the Braised Pork Belly, which was surprisingly tender and juicy, and the sauce complimented it very well. We ordered the regular size bone-in KC Strip to share. It was a huge portion and they give you extremely hot plates so that the steak stays warm and sizzly on your plate once you eat it. We were pretty impressed by how juicy and tender it was. The corn creme brulee and Boursin cheese whipped potatoes we had as sides were great complements to the dish. At the end of our meal, they treated us with a complimentary Cookies and Cream Popcorn Sundae which was super unique and really delicious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you're willing to ball out and celebrate for a special night.

Located in Midtown this cute spot offers good music, fine food, and great ambiance. The mood is set with a soundtrack of classic hits playing in the background, and let's not forget about that bathroom, it's wild! I mean, I got a whole "duolingo" French lesson (the language of love) while washing my hands! Things like that definitely set this place apart from the rest. I was greeted warmly from the second I stepped in the door! While I waited for my party to arrive I sat at their bar area and ordered a Pineapple Mule served with a smile. Right off the bat I connected with James , one of the waitstaff who also happened to be serving our table. He was so the BEST! Hands down the most awesome waitstaff I've ever met. He made our time there special. I felt like I've known him for years, and he knew just how to connect with each person in our group! We all fell in love with him instantly! Tonight (likely due to the Valentine's Day crowd) the meal was pre-set for every guest. This meal included bread, salad, and Collette steak in their special sauce, with fries. There were dessert options as well, from which I chose a key lime pie. And an assortment of after dinner coffees. What blew my mind was that they came around and offered more food to us after finishing our first entree plate! I wasn't expecting that, and was pleasantly surprised. Parking for this location sits right behind the restaurant, a parking garage that is free. Because of the number of shops and restaurants around (an especially since this was Valentines weekend) parking can be at a premium during certain points of the day, so think about that when coming. There is also street parking available too. Seating for Medium Rare is offered both inside and outside (patio). The price average for this place is moderate, and folks can dress up or down. It is a beautiful place for a girls night out, date night, celebrations, brunch, etc! I had a wonderful time here! An amazing experience for sure. P.S. they give you Bazooka gum at the end of your meal! That brought back good memories for sure! This was my first time coming, and it won't be my last. This place is definitely worth checking out! Enjoy!
