I had a good experience at Toga and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys having a little bit of everything. The highlight of the evening was definitely the service. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to guide us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations, which made the experience even better. Overall, it's a good spot with excellent service, and I'd be happy to return.

Toga you killed it. Last minute Thursday date night at 7:30pm. Got there and it wasn't too crowded but by 8:30pm it was vibing. We got a bunch of things to try. Miso soup was amazing. Served in a handmade ceramic cup chicken stock based which was super deep and aromatic. Tuna carpaccio which was amaaaaazing. Great toast points, classic but with an amazing wasabi mouse. Agadashi tofu which is one of my wife's favorites. We got the fries which were super crispy with amazing garlic and spicy aiolis the breast and BBL yakitori. The BBL was the winner. We ended by splitting the Katsu Curry spicy and sweet and super tender pork cutlets. Wish we had space for dessert! Service was amazing. Thoughtful and kind and engaged but not pushy. Ambiance was relaxed and easy going. Will definitely be back!

Wow what a great runny establishment . Great food , great service . The ambiance in here is great . Me and my wife decided to try Toga and it did not disappoint . We ordered the Wagyu burger , the udon carbonara , the pickled gulf shrimp and the fries . Everything was top tier , highly recommend

Lovely new dinner spot; casual, lively, and just cool enough to feel like a treat without being stuffy about it. No pics of this because we were too busy enjoying ourselves, but hands down the yakitori is the star of the show, highly recommend you start there. The udon carbonara was a touch salty for my taste with the miso and pancetta combo, but we still ate every last bite lol François took such great care of us and made the whole evening feel extra special. So happy this place exists in our neighborhood, my husband is already planning our next drop in!

Checked Toga out Friday night. Experience was 10/10. Hospitality was top notch! Constantly checked in on how we were doing which I appreciated. Enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. My favorite was the mushroom rice bowl... OMG YUM! Chefs special Yaki is a must try and their Crudo with Leche de Tigre - which brought tears of joy to my eyes. Ambience was great - minimalist artsy vibe. Parking ample. Will definitely come back to try the other items my stomach unfortunately didn't have room for tonight.

Parking is pretty easy, there's a big garage that is pretty cheap, or you can park for free in the neighborhood. They have patio seating available if you wish to sit outdoors. This is a Spanish tapas restaurant, and their menu is very big it was pretty overwhelming to look at. Luckily for us, Richard locked in and ordered everything for us. If we were able to come a bit earlier we could've ordered during happy hour which has a lot of good discounts on their tapas What we ordered: - patatas bravas with chorizo - by far our fav dish of the night. The sauce is so so good. It's a must get, but I would pass on the chorizo next time - albondigas morunas - I enjoyed the lamb meatballs with cinnamon onions, couscous was good too - Plato de jamon Serrano - good app, love how you can customize it any way with the cheese, fruits, and olives - gambas al ajillo - shrimp in lemon garlic olive oil and red chili peppers, solid but not anything life changing or a must order - calamares a la plancha - grilled squid with roasted garlic and olive oil, very citrusy and unique - pemientos de padron - tasted just like air, really is just a Carrie for the lemon aioli which was really good - pescaditos Fritos - same as the pimento peppers. Came with harissa aioli and spicy tomato - sangria - we got some kind of jumbo size for a good deal. Good for sharing

Our server was checking in on us very frequently and she explained the menu to us when we told her we hadn't been before. The manager on duty also had stopped by and introduced herself. They told us up front that tapas would be able to be out quickly with only up to a 10 minute wait but that larger plates could be up to a 45 minute wait. We ordered several tapas and one large plate half order. I don't know much about wine, personally, but the drinks we did get were amazing. The restaurant itself was very pretty as well, lots of natural lighting and then low lighting as the sun went down. The music was low and we were able to hear each other well, apart from one group across the room that would get rowdy but I can't blame them for having a good time. Our food was all delicious and I forgot to take pics of some of them because we devoured them so quickly. Not pictured, we ordered the grilled asparagus and focaccia. I highly recommend all of what we ordered.

From the outset, the service seemed more focused on promoting specific items than on delivering a personalized experience. Our server repeatedly recommended gin and tonic cocktails rather than asking about our preferences and offering tailored suggestions. We opted for the tasting menu, and only two of the eight courses stood out. The remaining dishes lacked depth of flavor, creativity, and refinement. Considering the restaurant's reputation and pricing, the overall menu felt underwhelming. Service throughout the evening was inconsistent. We had to request multiple times for empty plates and glasses to be cleared, which detracted from the overall experience and did not meet typical fine dining standards. The atmosphere was elegant and well-designed. However, the menu leaned toward more traditional and conservative flavors, which may appeal to a certain clientele but did not meet our expectations for innovation. Overall, I would not recommend BCN Taste & Tradition to those seeking a standout fine dining experience. For a higher level of culinary creativity and attentive service, I would suggest considering Musaafer instead.

From the moment we arrived, the valet experience was unprofessional. The valet demanded payment upfront in a rude manner, did not return the correct change, and responded with a disrespectful tone when I asked about it. This immediately created a negative and uncomfortable impression. Unfortunately, things only got worse inside. The staff were unwelcoming and dismissive from the beginning. Despite multiple empty tables, we were seated right next to the entrance where cold air was constantly coming in, making it very uncomfortable for my family. When we politely asked for a different table, we were refused without any reasonable explanation. Instead, we were told that because we had a child and needed a high chair, this was the only table available, which made no sense at all. The table itself was cramped and clearly unsuitable for four people. What made this even more concerning is that a manager appeared to be present, yet no effort was made to resolve the situation or assist us. At that point, we decided to leave. This experience was not only frustrating, but also embarrassing in front of my family. I expected a much higher level of professionalism from a restaurant listed on Resy. I chose this restaurant based on my trust in the Resy platform and its association with American Express, and I expected a certain standard of professionalism that was clearly not met. I will also be reporting this experience to both Resy and American Express. I do not recommend this place.

As with several other restaurants I've reviewed recently, this is one that I normally wouldn't frequent, but since they were participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks they were on my radar. We got a table for three for the volunteers in one of my service groups to check it out. One of us had been here before, but the rest of us hadn't. The appetizers were pretty good, but nothing spectacular. The tapas variadas were more of a charcuterie plate than actual tapas, but were still a nice appetizer for the rest of the meal. The calamari was different from what you normally see (fried and served with marinara). Instead, this was boiled in garlic butter and onions, almost like a shrimp scampi type of dish. It made the calamari a bit more gummy than we'd like, but still worth trying. The item I was looking forward to most was the paella langosta, which I'd heard amazing things about. I'd been told that this was one of the best places to grab paella in Houston. Sadly, out of four different restaurants, this was by far the worst paella I'd had. It was lacking in flavor, seemed to be thrown together at the last minute, and just didn't live up to the hype. The atmosphere seemed like it would have been nice if not for an absolutely obnoxious table right next to us. They were boisterous and completely oblivious to the negative experience they were providing to the people at neighboring tables. On more than one occasion they got up and bumped one of our tables. The worst part is, we later found out that it was the owner entertaining some friends. You would think he'd have known better than to have other patrons treated like that. Service was a bit of a mess also. The waiter disappeared several times, never refilled our drinks, and we practically had to go searching for him after 20+ minutes of sitting around waiting for our checks. At least two of us were completely disappointed in our visit, and even the third, who had been there before, acknowledged that it wasn't quite what he'd experienced in the past. Oh well, he might be back, but we definitely won't.

All times have been made with reservations as well, however their weekend brunch doesn't seem to be packed. Could definitely just walk in without a reservation. MAD is a solid tapas place, however after coming back from a trip to Spain, I realize the difference of taste and price. I've tried half of the appetizers listed on their current menu. I feel like I've tried other things that are no longer on the menu. I'd definitely recommend the croquetas (3 pcs of creamy goodness) and jamón ibérico (good, but overpriced imo). The pulpo just doesn't taste as good as it does in Spain obviously. Paella Valencia - should try if you've never had paella. Chicken thighs were cooked just right. Pato & apricot - duck recommended to be cooked medium rare. The duck was delicious, but the way the rice was prepared wasn't as good as the paella Valencia. Cochinillo ibérico - more worth it to order this than the appetizer. Scalloped potatoes and scrambled eggs make it a true brunch dish. Basque cheesecake - would recommend this as dessert of choice. It was delicious, light, and fluffy. Spanish churros - nothing like in Spain. They're super thin and definitely too oily. The chocolate ganache dipping sauce was also too oily for my liking. Love the aesthetic of the restaurant. The bathroom must also be seen as well. Definitely a place you can celebrate something special. Good for a date, group of friends or family. I can imagine how it would look at night, probably busy. Definitely want to try their dinner sometime. Park in the parking garage next to the restaurant. It was free every time I've been. :)

This is a bit of a dated review, but we came here for a Valentine's dinner as a special occasion. We got seats at the bar counter behind the fire (which to me was the best seat in the house) so we could be close to the action. One thing you'll notice is that the place is quite loud, I think which owes to the low ceilings (so don't expect like a quiet and romantic vibe). The meal started out great with the bread and butter - bread was sourced from Magnol, which was a huge green flag to start. The oysters were extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. We also had a dish with tuna over crispy rice which was my fiancee's favorite of the night. My personal favorite was the salad (I know that is crazy to say at a restaurant that specializes in live fire cooking) - but the way they zested all different types of citrus/lemons, peppers, chiles, and the way the herbs they put into it, created what was one of the most memorable salads I have ever had. All in all the food was excellent. Service was great (the night we were there, Max Lappe was there sending out food to customers himself). I do kind of wish the atmosphere was a little more quiet. With that said, expect to spend around $200pp (we did share a bottle of wine though).
