First one star review in a while. I am very very upset with this place. My wife did not get her order properly, the wait staff could not answer any questions and appear to not to know anything about the food or its preparation itself. My wife requires gluten free diet to a celiac and nobody had any idea about anything regarding this. In the end, she had to get a salad, which is not what she wanted, only because it was the only thing she felt safe getting without any of her other questions being answered properly. My food was so so itself, but the service was seriously lacking and no happy wife makes an unhappy hubby. Sorry. read more

Borrellis is so good. Amazing staff and amazing food. Their penne ala vodka, lobster ravioli, calamari and pizza are outstanding, especially their pizza. It's a shame to hear that this business has been struggling due to the Covid pandemic especially considering how superb of a restaurant this is. My niece and nephew decided to have their baby shower at this restaurant. Traveling a long distance I truly hoped that they had chosen wisely. From the moment we entered this beautiful restaurant you could feel the warmth and the great welcome from each member of the staff. When I stopped one of the servers and explained that although the menu was extensive and really outstanding that I could not eat anything that they offered She immediately without hesitation asked what I could eat. At that moment I realized that BORRELLIS caters to the guests. The first dish was pasta and she made sure mine was plain. The chef Salinas superb. Ordering grilled chicken with no seasoning was my request. But as she served it she realized that it had seasoning and the owner created a special no seasoned dish for me which was fantastic. The chicken had no seasoning but was moist and cooked to perfection. I'm sure the cake and coffee was great . Tonite i had dinner with my wife at this awesome Italian Restaurant, i had the most amazing baked ziti with meatballs and my wife had canneloni. the server Mellisa was right on point the food came out hot and on time. i give this top notch restaurant a 10 PLUS. the prices were great the service outstanding. we finished our meal with the most amazing gelato it was the best i ever tasted. job well done to the staff at Borrellis I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GREAT RESTAURANT IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. read more

I live not 10mins down the street in Hempstead in the rear of Hofstra University. I placed an order through GrubHub and was called 2 mins after my order was received by an employee at the restaurant advising me that they don't deliver to HEMPSTEAD!!!! THEY would only make one turn to get to my house. I literally live in the next town over 10mins away..less than 10mins....I would like to say what I really think the reason for them not delivering, but I won't go there!!! GrubHub was very helpful and didn't understand why they canceled. Just had a great pizza experience with Borrelli's. The pizza that was delivered was just right. Dough was exactly what pizza dough should be and taste like, there was a generous amount of cheese (just the way my wife likes it) and the pizza sauce was delicious (not heavy but not too sweet either). Light and tasty - tasted like fresh tomatoes Borrelli's has been a great neighborhood restaurant restaurant for over 60 years and tonight they demonstrated why that is the case. Anybody in the East Meadow area who wants a great meal, visit the restaurant or order food or a pizza to bring home or be delivered. They are an integral part of our community. We have 'dined in' with the family on many occasions and it has always been good. They accommodate both small and large groups with ease. If you're looking for pedestrian food from a restaurant that looks like it's in a time warp from the Carter administration, then go to Borelli's. Not much else to say. I've been here a handful of times, and the food is consistently bad or just OK each time. Runny/watery sauce, cheap salty cheese. You work too hard for your money to waste it here. read more

HARD PASS! Sorry! The people working are polite and eager to please BUT untrained. She gave us our bread br no little plates so we had to rest our bread on our napkins while we eat it, appetizer arrive STILL no little plates, so my husband just took it from another table. I had the salmon and it had so much bones, and it was way over cooked and dry BLAND! I rarely send a meal back, my husband food was MEH but eatable (chicken franchese) - my daughters dinner chicken finger was horrible, so dry SO DRY! My sons food spaghetti with meatballs, my son don't touch the pasta, way over cooked, the meatball was good tho. I sent my plate back, by the time a replacement arrived my husband and kids was done eating witch made my dinner awkward, by then my kids (5 years old) were ready to leave. So I just took a few bites and packed my food. We were never offered refills for our drinks, or more napkins, we kept reusing dirty ones because we had no other choice. I would not come back, the reason I'm giving 2 starts is because I feel the people working are trying, but you can't expect but if you don't train them. read more

It was "ok". To me it was more of a pizzeria then a restaurant. Me and my wife went there with two other couples to celebrate my wife's birthday. I enjoyed the bar when you first walk in. Bartender was pleasant and drinks were cold. After a drink or two we moved into the dinning room. Had a cold pizzeria feel. Not warm and inviting like an Italian restaurant. Chairs were a little uncomfortable but it is what it is. Once we sat down waitress came over and took our order. Unfortunately while bring drinks to the table she spilled a drink on my friend. My friend whole blouse was soaked. Being we just sat down was a bummer because she sad to sit with a wet shirt the whole dinner. The waitress apologized a number of times and even brought a round of drinks which was appreciated. I would have liked for the manager to stop over to apologize but that didn't happen. We ordered a number of appetizers which were all pretty good. Calamari was very good. For main course I got the linguine with calm sauce. It was ok. Had better and had worse. Wife had the veal which was very good. Our friends had fish dinners and chicken cutlets. They all said they were ok. Desserts were nothing to get excited about. All in all it was an "ok" place. Food decent and service ok. Would I eat here again? Probably. Would I go out of my way to get back there? Probably not. Would I recommend this place for a special occasion? Absolutely not. read more

Was here in a Saturday night with another couple. Was here before, but always ordered pizza and/or appetizers and was never disappointed. Unfortunately on this night I ordered eggplant parm. It was just ok. Sauce was bland. I tasted my BF's chicken parm, and it was marginally better, but had the same blah sauce. The Cesar salad was pretty good though. And the service was impeccable. Very very disappointed. The menu on line looked great and the outside appearance was welcoming. The interior was cold and unappealing. We inquired about wine and the waiter could barely tell us what they had. We tried a red & a white... they were low end And terrible. Stick with beer. My wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo. It was terrible. Mostly cream. We kept adding Parmesan but it did not help. She barely ate it and despite telling the waiter how bad it was we were still charged for it. I have never had such bad Italian Food. The fried calamari was not fresh. Could tell by only using rings which come out of a bag. the stuffed rigatoni was a blob of mush on the plate. Sent everything back and ended up with pizza which have had better. DO NOT GO. After complaining you would think the manager would have come out to apologize. I decided yesterday to try Borrellis, for the first time yesterday, after driving past it for years, and deeply regret my decision, as if you want to grossly overpay for average to bad food. Then this place is for you. I ordered myself tortellini with regular marinara sauce and it was average at best, that was as good as a jar of sauce and store bought tortellini yet I paid $18.00 for it. I am eating the personal Sicilian pizza now, that was about $13.00, and is about ten inches, and it is awful. It is like would you like some sauce, with your cheese bread? I also had 2 cannolis at $7.00 a wack, and while good, was tough to eat, because was ice cold, like was In a freezer. I order also a coke, with way to much ice in a small glass at $2.75, another dinner my daughter ordered, but not sure was that was, and two virgin pina colotas which were good, plus they do give you free bread, when got the bill, $94.10, crap food for a lot of money. I recommend you avoid this place , and I guess a lot do as place for pretty empty, but no surprising with food and prices. If want a good place, go to a place like Galleria in North merrick. as Food is great and not way overprice. Definitely never going there again. read more

I have lived In Levittown for about 16 years and have passed this place thousands of times and even worked not that far away and have never been until recently. I am in love with the chef salad it's amazing and so fresh and they give you enough to share even with the small size. The broccoli bites are also very good although they can be a little greasy. We have also tried the chicken parm and it was very good as well. We will be back to try other items for sure read more

Maybe their dinners are good but as far as their pizza, i could/would not recommend. At close to $20 for a large pie, one would be much more satisfied finding the nearest Pizzeria to buy a pie. There was little sauce, very dry and if i'd not had my own sauce and toppings at home to add, i would have thrown the pie out. And for me, a lifetime pizza lover, to throw out a pizza, it has to be bad. Maybe it was an off day for the pie guy but i'd not chance it again. I thought since it was a well-known place and three for 30+ years or so, i'd enjoy their pie, but sorry, it's not to be. read more

I went here with my grandfather one time and he order the linguini with white sauce, they accidentally brought him red, he wanted a new order, what he originally ordered, they brought it to the kitchen, ran it under the sink to get rid of the "red". I haven't been to this restaurant in about 20 years. Last time we went, we were not impressed. We were not impressed tonight we ordered two personal pies. One had mushrooms and anchovies. The pie was totally soggy. The mushrooms were so small, they were hard to find. The other pie had sausage and broccoli rabe on it. Very disappointing. I didn't like the sausage and the broccoli rabe was a little tough and not much flavor. We won't go back there. read more

I had really high hopes for this place as it's been around forever. Went here for lunch, very reasonable priced and large portions. Meatballs were a little mushy for me. Shrimp parm. had the tails on the shrimp and they were rather small (price was not huge, so decent value for dollar) read more

I have been coming here since they opened (in 1955) and they have always been wonderful. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. I brought my girlfriend here again for pizza on Super Bowl Sunday and in the 60 years that I have been coming here it was empty... What a shock. But our server Rob, had the opportunity to spend some time with us and he was absolutely delightful. I've known about Borrelli's for a while, I just never stopped in to give them a try before today. They don't exactly have the best curb appeal from the outside. The place looks a bit run down but the sign says they've been open since 1955 so I guessed they are doing something right when it comes to the food. The indoors has a old fashioned vibe but it's clean and neat. Some of the tables are a little wobbly. It's dimly lit and very quiet. There wasn't much of a lunch crowd though I did see a few people stop in for a pickup. They have a separate area with a bar likely to cater to those visiting the Coliseum. They don't serve pizza by the slice here but they do have a 10 inch personal pie lunch special that comes with a can of soda for $8. If you want additional toppings it's about a dollar more each. The pie is equivalent to about two and a half to may be three slices of pizza. The crust is nice and crispy and it's on the thin side. The pizza is not too oily but also not very saucy as with the thin crust too much sauce would make it soggy. The cheese was good and the cheese was pretty spot on. Not the best pizza I've ever had or anything but definitely worthy of another try. I did not wait very long for my carry out order and they provided plenty of napkins and plastic cutlery in a bag along with my soda and gelato. Overall my lunch was filling and adequate. I've had better and I've had worse. The gelato was very tasty. They stock MaximoPino gelatos and sorbets. I ordered a small pistachio which was $3.95. It was really tasty and fresh. No freezer burn or staleness. It came in a small cup but it was filled to the top. I overheard the employees mention they may be stocking another brand of gelato going forward but I didn't inquire about it. The service was efficient and a bit more straight forward than friendly and inviting but also not rude by any means either. If this place sold pizza by the slice I'd imagine they would get more business. read more

Took a special lady-friend there for dinner last night. I have never had a bad experience there, so it seemed like a good idea as she was in the mood for Italian (insert joke about my ethnicity and ancestory here). Place was relatively quiet, which is understandable for a Sunday night, a few other families and a few couples scattered around the restaurant. We were promptly seated and got started with the menu. She decided on her goto dish, Penne ala Vodka, and I was torn between my goto dish, chicken parm, or the veal parm. Considering she is a vegetarian, I wanted to stay away from the veal (some people get iffy about it, I'm sure yelp is familiar with those types) but she pushed me to get the veal. She isn't one of "those types"... which is awesome. Before we were even able to finish the bread our meals were brought out. The service was extremely quick, and the food came out piping hot and damn near perfect. The veal was extremely tender, and their marinara sauce is one of the best I've ever had out (obviously family recopies aside). The vodka sauce was also good, a little heavier/thicker than my mother makes it, but still quite good in its own regard. Needless to say the meal was delicious and the evening went swell. Borrelli's, in my opinion, is one of the best Italian places in Nassau County. read more

Grew up in this area in the 1970s. Even then, this was a classic Nassau County institution. Have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. Service is consistently outstanding, as it ought to be in a family-owned place. The pizza is great and platters are decent sized and always good. The wine list is decent, although not wonderful. The location can't be beat: basically across the street from both the Nassau Coliseum and Eisenhower Park. Overall: one of the most underrated places in Long Island. read more

Parking is large, and reminds me of a car sales lot. I went here before going to a concert so we wanted to get drinks and food. Good thing it was my friends birthday so we got a round of drinks free from the young bartender. Good thing we were looking dolled up that day too! Service was friendly and nice. Just about restaurant you go to on Long Island on a Saturday night with a group larger than 6, there is a guaranteed 2 hr minimum wait. During Hurricane Sandy, they were willing to let me charge my phone, and didn't mind either. Something to be pointed out- the bar area and main dining room do seem a little dated. I first went to Borrelli's as a kid back in 1959 with my family. One of my favorite places to eat. I now live in Delaware and returned to Borellis last night with my brothers when I came up for a visit. I ordered a Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana hero. I have to say I was very disappointed with what I got. The crust of the cutlet was soggy and it actually tasted like one of those Perdue frozen cutlets you buy in the supermarket that you heat up for a quick meal and not like a freshly prepared cutlet (flower, egg wash, bread crums, fry). This place has pretty good food. This is a landmark in East Meadow. The restaurant has been around since 1955. If you come on Friday or Saturday night at dinner time you will probably have to wait and the parking lot could be full. The entrees are ok but the pizza is better. Their prices have always been good. If you grew up around East Meadow you have been to this place several times. If you want casual Italian food this is a great place to start. read more

We visited this restaurant and we are very happy we did! Decor is appropriate, warm, simple and just perfect. Staff is fun and friendly, service was great! We has calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers and both were awesome! We ordered pizza and some ordered pasta and it did not disappoint. Everything was light, fresh and tasty. This place is excellent, went for the first time last night. I had the chicken francese, delicious. We ordered rice balls, good stuff. I tried my friends garlic bread, I almost died. Not for me lol. My friends were very happy with their meals. I had my signature drink, margarita. The staff came out and sang HB to my cousin. Great waitor/service. Dessert was omg.
