We were there around 8:30 on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar to have a drink and a couple of appetizers. We had stuffed mushrooms, stuffed clams and rice balls. The mushrooms were like rubber and the baked clams were just cheese in a clam shell and not very good. The rice balls ok. I felt like these were left over from a party and microwaved and brought out to us. How this place is still there with all the great italian food on LI is beyond me. "Borrelli's Italian Restaurant" is not a Pizzeria, they are a Italian Restaurant. Just wanted to make that clear. It is a great dining experience for the entire family. I pulled up to the large parking lot and couldn't believe how colorful the outside of the building looked. It was nice to see such brave choices used to bring a positive vibe. Heading in I was equally impressed. The place was immaculate and big. It was really spacious. I had went to the counter to place my order when I met with the most wonderful woman there. She was friendly and extremely professional. She talked to me as if I was her best friend and it made me feel great. The atmosphere in the place also made me feel comfortable, that and the classic music playing in the background. I saw a gentleman walk in to the place not to order food, but to have a conversation with the owner. Can you believe that. The lady I was talking to told me the rich history of the restaurant. It's been around for 63 years, that longer then I've been alive! She also told me they cater for parties up to one hundred people. Nice for a graduation or surprise party. They also offer karaoke and live music on Thursday's so they offer a excellent time for groups. Only negative was they had a ten dollar spending limit, but I was over the limit so I didn't need cash. They don't do slices. So I got a personal pie and waited patiently for it. But once I smelled what they had cooking I became a little impatient. I wanted to know what this place was about. I soon found out when my boxed pizza came out. It was hot and fresh. I sat down and just took a minute to admire such beauty. It was like looking at a woman for the first time, or the first time you learned how to ride a bike. I mean it was special. When I grabbed the first slice I knew I was in trouble because I understood that this wasn't going to end well for the pie. The relationship ended quickly, but the memory of the taste would last forever. I was sold on that crunchy crust, the juicy chicken and the side of blue cheese they gave me. It was more then I could handle. I even thought about getting ice cream, which they do offer as well. Everything about this place was amazing. The food, atmosphere and staff were excellent. My family took me here for dinner when I was visiting last weekend. I currently live in Florida, so when I'm back up on Long Island visiting bagels and Italian food are a must. My uncle described Borrelli's as "sloppy Italian food" which I loved. It wasn't messy, but this isn't the type of place where you'll get gourmet food, small plates, and expensive prices. Great food. The kitchen even agreed to cook us up some extra francaise sauce for what we could not finish to take home. Value was very good too, and they do promote with generous 20% off weekday coupons. I will more than likely go back because the food really was standout but I will request from hostess that we do NOT get same waitress/server who was inattentive and lacking. Service was unacceptably slow despite being one of just three parties at the place for dinner it took the waitress way too long to find us and she was scarce even though we were the only table she had. 4 star rating because I was there once before, the food was great then too and I know service can be respectable-- just guess it depends on server. Music entertainment on Saturday night is possibly a great idea, but the guy was playing way too loud, which resulted in very loud restaurant conversation. Absolutely terrible!!! Ordered stuffed shrimp that was not edible and sent it back. Stuffing was all bread with no taste and other part of dish too salty. Side of pasta with garlic and oil had no taste and was overpriced at $11 for a small side plate. (Would not have ordered if I was told price) Table next to us sent back all of their food and was complaining. Service was excellent, not her fault food is so bad. Would never go back. Went to a private party here last night. Salad was served family style, in two large bowls. Both salads contained cheese. A problem for some with dairy issues. When asked, was told there are no other options. Then pasta course. Ask if there are non- gluten options. Was told take pasta or not. No options. The entree is served with no sides. Just protein on the plate. Server said pasta was second course. I asked for veggies. "No". In 2017, most restaurants are more accommodating to patrons with food sensitivities. Very low quality food, waiter seemed way too occupied to even refill my water once. Sauce was basically red water, also got a hero which was a complete mess. I came here for a private event. The space was spacious and private. The service was attentive and courteous. The bar even has some beers on tap which I haven't seen at too many Italian restaurants. I tend to come here once every few years because I always forget about my past experience. I do enjoy the ambiance with the brick walls and showcase of the desserts in the front, but it seems that it needs a new face lift. The bar seems misplaced and when one of the members of the party ordered a special veal dish, the waiter asked if she wants salad (ok), pasta (ok) or, fries (WHAT!!!) In an authentic Restaurant, you are going to offer fries on a specialty veal dish? how does that match well? Anyway, the pizza was very good, a nice change to the ordinary NY pizza the chicken in my parm sandwich was good, but the sauce was chunky. My friend's Penne alla vodka was "kick ass" as she proclaims and the other member loved his chicken franchese. All in all, it was a nice quiet dinner that we all thoroughly enjoyed. I got penne Alla vodka which was ziti for some reason and my boyfriend's chicken was okay but came with a side of pasta with marinara which had no flavor. I was literally worried I was getting covid because of the lack of flavor from the pasta sauces and rice balls. Yesterday I ordered the chicken parm dinner with penne and tomato sauce and a Caesar salad on the side. I also got a small personal pie. Everything came to my house within 15-20 minutes of my order. Everything was delicious! I unfortunately did not take pictures this time to share, but I was so happy to have that meal. I've ordered out a few times now and the quality is consistently great! I also ate at the restaurant one night back in September and I remember the dine in experience being great. This restaurant does not seem to need much advertising or Yelp to maintain its business. It's been around for decades and many former residents of East Meadow go out of their way to dine here when they come back to visit. I like this place. I really do. A local legend, Borrellis is one of the best restaurants and definitely has the best pizza. They've been owned and run by the same family since the 50s and make you feel like family. The round Sicilian pie is a big fat mozzarella dream. Once in awhile they have live comedy with an included prix fixed menu. I loved the local comedians. read more

I had my engagement party here super last minute IT WAS GREAT! I was really upset because the venue that I previously booked, Mio Posto Hicksville, literally decides to closed down a week before my party with no explanation so shady but Frank was extremely accommodating and I felt a relief when he said it wasn't going to be a problem to host our party. We were given tin pans to put our left overs in and the tins had roaches in them!! Baby roaches all over the tin pans.
