recently took my Mercedes to Auto Tech Body and Frame after an accident, expecting professional help. Unfortunately, they were unable to even move the car, and they couldn't get it into neutral. They did not fix it on the same day and even asked me to come and move the car myself. To make matters worse, they warned me that if I didn't retrieve the car, they would leave it on the side of the road with the keys inside and refuse to take responsibility. Overall, a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend them at all. read more

I want to give auto tech and frame the highest score possible. I unfortunately hit my Prius within the first two weeks I bought it, and all other stores I spoke to give me an hourly rate around 220-250. This shop gives me half the labor charge and a reasonable estimate (my insurance unfortunately didn't cover collision). Rick is such a great owner and his technician is superb. Roof paint on my Acura MDX was chipping off and the car was outside factory warranty. Rick responded quickly, gave a fair estimate and same day appointment. The car also needed a windshield replacement, he called the Auto glass company got the windshield replaced while the painting job was getting done. This auto shop is great. They are friendly and know how to solve the problem for the clients. I have a 2015 Toyota Avalon. A ring was accidently dropped into the shifter gear box. I tried multiple auto shops, and was told it was very difficult to take it out and cost at least $250. I stoped by at Auto Tech Body & Frame to just give it a try. The technician/boss was very friendly and said he would try to help. It only took him 30 mininutes to get the ring out and the charge is pretty reasonble. My wife and I were pretty happy. They did an amazing job at restoring my car!! They fixed all the dents and oxidized paint, and straightened the frame to perfection. I bought the car used with a slightly bent frame so the bumper never fit properly. It also had hail damage and the paint was peeling. The first accident bent the frame so the hood didn't latch properly, and the place we went to (not this place) fixed it just enough for the hood to close but there was still some gaps. They told us that it was the best they could do, smh. The 2nd accident bent the frame again, and the hood didn't close properly. We went to these guys (Auto Tech) and they straightened it with zero gaps. We agreed on a package to fix the rest of the car and it was reasonably priced given the amount of work getting done... and I've never been happier! Wow!! My car looks brand new! Excellent customer service - My car was making an exhaust noise and wanted to have it checked. I thought someone might have stolen the cat converter. The owner listened to it and mentioned that it needs to be put on the lift to diagnose. There was a crack in the exhaust and explained that it can be welded for a very reasonable price. He also suggested to take it to the dealer, since my car is fairly new. He was very fair and transparent. I was not charged for the diagnostic and he was perfectly Ok with me returning back later in the day to have it fixed. Big Thumbs Up. read more

Someone in the parking lot bumped into my '08 Infiniti G37 and scratched up my rear quarter with the wheel. I took it to Auto Tech in Fremont because I read a couple of nice reviews on Yelp, and it's close to my home. David was very nice. Updated Oct 28, 2014 I made a mistake. It turned out that David did ask me to bring back my car for detailing when I picked up my car. Somehow it slipped thru my mind. 2 weeks ago, I took the car back and David did a followup detailing on my Mazda. The team did a great job I must say. The car looked almost brand new inside out from a distance. At this point, I am completely satisfied with Auto Tech, hence the revised 5 stars. I have brought my car here twice in the past couple years to get my bumper fixed. The first time was to fix my bumper after a different shop did crappy work that left my bumper literally hanging off a couple of months later. The second time was after someone hit my front end in a parking lot. Both times, their workmanship was great. They repaired the bumper so it's like it never happened. The fit and paint job is always perfect and blends in seamlessly with the rest of the car. The first time the quote they gave was cheap and pretty accurate. The second time I brought it in, they worked with the other guy's insurance so I didn't have to. And they even gave me a little bottle of touch up paint, just in case. Which I've never needed because their work is perfect. My only knock against them is communication. I never know what is going on with my car unless I call them. For instance, last time I brought my car in, they said it would be ready Friday. But then they found more damage so they had to get the insurance guy to come out and he couldn't come til Monday. Not their fault, but nobody told me. Finally at like 5pm on friday I gave them a call and they updated me. So then the next week the insurance guy comes by, but I don't hear anything again. Then on Tuesday at closing time they call asking if I was going to pick up my car, that I didn't even know was ready. So yes, their communication is a little frustrating. But they do such great work that I'll still bring my car to them. I just know I have to be the one to call. read more

Had to replace my side mirror after it had an unfortunate incident with a SF cab. Dealer quote was more than I liked, so I thought I'd order the part online (for way cheaper) and DIY the repair... Fast forward a couple weeks... Got part, took off door panel, and realized I'd need "real" mechanics tools to reach the screws in the door frame... So I went down Fremont's "Autorepair Parkway" (Albrae) to see if I could get a pro's help... Drove by this place, saw the owner (presumably), and thought "what the heck". Armed with my internal price point, I asked him for a quote and ETA. Quote was very reasonable, and repair could be done immediately. Sold. 30 minutes later, repair is completed, and my car no longer has a droopy right ear. Based on my initial interaction with them, I would definitely be comfortable approaching this place for more serious jobs... Say, two years of SF bumper kisses, a bumper-meet-pole incident, or my favorite... Two years of love taps from my former neighbor's X5 passenger door. read more

I took my car in to have it repaired around November 9th 2020 it is now January 9 2021 and I still don't have my car, I have gotten calls from the owner's spouse Rick with promises that my car is the priority and still waiting for it to get completed. There was a lot of pressure from him for me to get him the insurance check as soon as possible to where I had to go drop it off at the shop on a Saturday. I wish there was the same urgency to get my car repaired as there was to get the insurance check. What has disappointed me most is the lack of honesty on what the issues are and how long before they can be resolved. For over a week now I have been told that the only thing remaining is to buff the paint to find out today that they are still having issues completing the repairs of the Air Conditioning unit. I am really disappointed with the time this repair has taken and wish this does not happen to you. read more

Omg this auto body shop was seriously AMAZING. I was kind of nervous going to get my car fixed for the first time alone.. but they made me feel SO comfortable. I brought my car in for front bumper dent damage repair. David provided very reasonable quote. The dent was pulled out and the whole bumper was repainted. The result looks almost good as new. Highly recommend this business to anyone that needs body work. I was referred to the shop by a friend who had very positive experience with it. I was a little hesitant at first because the shop was over 30 miles from where I live, but I decided to give it a try. Man! Wasn't it worthy of the 35 min driving! David (the owner I believe) was helpful and straight to the point from the very beginning. First, he arranged the appointment based on my work schedule, which was a BIG help for me; his check up and estimate were thorough, professional and accurate, leaving no room for 2nd guess; he was also great in following up, using both emails and phone calls. There was an unexpected issue related to a mismatched part prior to the pick-up day, he immediately notified me and discussed the available options. David Tseng has repaired three of my cars in the last couple of years - some major (front end collision on my Daughter's Mustang) and minor (door damage on my wife's Jeep). I like that David has a direct way of doing business and he will work out what he needs from the insurance company and get the job done. His jobs come out looking great and he will get them done on time. I know that most body shops get busy and then things drag out until they rush the job at the end - and I hate that.
