Cozy corner spot right in the heart of the Marion street shopping district so it is easy to pop in for a sit-down lunch or grab take-out for later. The vegetarian burrito is so rich and flavorful, but not so huge that you can't finish it in one meal, the perfect size. Steak tacos are also a hit. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is bright and clean. Park on Lake or Marion or the lot by Pumpkin Moon. I work in OP and have noticed that this place seems a bit more crowded lately & decided to give it a try. We had guacamole, a steak burrito, pork taco, and steak taco. All were very good. I love this place, especially for carry out (only 2 or three tables anyway). All of the food is fabulous and the service is more than fine. I have to say that I don't take advantage of it as much as I would like to, but they have no online ordering, and the language barrier is sometimes a little difficult for me. I ate here a year ago thought it was bad but I was recently walking by on a Monday, happened to to hungry and the rest of the restaurants in that area are closed on Monday, so I decided to give Boss Burrito a second try. I heard of this place from a couple of Forest Park customers of mine that just went on and on about how great it was.Most people would never know its here because of its location.The food is actually pretty good.Service was excellent.Nice to know I can get a chile toreado if I ask for it to complement my meal.The salsas were mediocre but not bad.They also carry Mexican Coke and Jarritos.Im only giving them 3 Stars because of their limited menu.Would be nice if they had tacos de carnitas,buche,tripas,sesos,etc....etc....But then again,this isn't a predominantly Mexican neighborhood so I guess thats understandable.I wont go out of my way to come here again even though the food was good only because I know WHERE ALL THE REALLY GOOD SPOTS ARE!!! I recently visited this restaurant while in Oak Park and I'm not a Mexican food person, however, I wanted a taco and was told by one of the business owners on the block that was the place to go for a good taco. I must say I was truly impressed, the homemade tortilla was amazing. I had the chicken taco and it was just right, it wasn't overwhelmed with toppings. I must say that was the best taco I'd eaten...ever. It's a small quaint little place and it does have a few tables if you prefer sitting in enjoying your food. Great food for a great price. Got the tostada and two chile relleño tacos. It was done so fast and the food was quite tasty. We decided to come here for a quick bite before a movie and it was totally worth it. I would totally come back for another meal. The tostada was a much better deal than getting a taco no totally recommend getting a tostada over a taco. It costs an extra 30 cents but it's totally worth it. You get sour cream and cheese on the tostada and tend not to on the taco. It says you do but you kind of don't always get it. Double check signage and double check your order with the order taker. What??? I have lived in Oak Park for 9 years and I have never been to this place since about a week ago. I was missing out. Chips here: crunchy, big, flavorful, delicious. Chips at chipotle: thin, bland. Boss Burrito is delicious. I got two chorizo tacos with chips and guacamole. Tacos were AWESOME, and the guacamole was reallllllly good too. The size is a little underwhelming since I'm used to giant burritos the size of my forearm, but for the price I guess it's alright. BEST GUACAMOLE EVER!!! And they make the chips to go with it! Honestly, I have had guac from a LOT of places, but theirs is hands down my favorite, and I have hooked my friends on it, too. I find their junior burrito to be the perfect size, and I love alternating between the two delicious salsas. (They put them in squeeze bottles, so you can add as you eat. Very convenient!) I have grown up eating mexican food all my life by many an abuela and this place is right on the money. Honestly, it felt like we were in Mexico because it was so hot in there. So we took it in as a whole experience. For us, the heat of the restaurant didn't take away from the delicious food. You can tell it's cooked fresh daily. I had the veggie burrito and my husband had the chicken quesadilla dinner. Unlike when you eat at Chipotle you feel like you just ate a brick, here we left feeling light but satisfied. In my opinion, that's a sure way to know whether you inhaled food made with fresh ingredients or not. If we plan to eat in again, we'll probably wait til it's gets a little bit cooler to do that but we will definitely return. Good food. Good prices. Good service. read more

It's edible. It's certainly nothing to rant about. I tried it once and it was relatively cold/ soggy. I got the enchiladas verde with cheese. The rice had a weird flavor, the beans were... Beans. The chips were actually the best part. The salsa was sweet and old tasting. The guacamole was clearly left sitting around all day as it was a tad watery. I don't think I'll be back. read more

This restaurant renders authentic Mexican food that tastes "so-o good!" Their meals are always excellent. The rice and refried beans are so tasty and fresh. Their best is their burritos and tacos. I have to eat their food on a regular basis because although I've tried numerous times, I can't replicate their cuisine and flavors. Nor can the local Mexican restaurants. Looking for a taco? This is the place. Best tacos I've had in the Chicago area. Chicken is easy to recommend, but I also like the pork a lot. Both the red and green sauces are great. I don't find the green sauce to be too spicy, buy something in it made my wife sweat. The sopas are also very nice - good, thick cornmeal base and good toppings. Never had a gordita (other than at someplace that rhymes with "taco hell"?)? These are really interesting, with fillings put in the middle of an extra-thick corn tortilla sliced through the middle the long way. I really like the veggie gordita, but can't recommend the pork - it gets too dry without some of the veggies on there. Now for a burrito review . . . never had one here, actually, despite the name of the joint. I just can't get away from the tacos and veggie gorditas. Oh, and have a horchata. I'm no expert, but I enjoyed it, and the large is only 25 cents more for over double the amount. Two tacos and a large horchata for $6.25 or so, and one full belly. It's not bad, nor is it good. We had a craving for Mexican food late one Friday night and went in and ordered a few things. We ordered the vegetarian dish and the sopas. We sat down and expected chips and salsa when we sat down (besides Chipotle and Qudoba, most Mexican restaurants give you chips and salsa), we never got it, which was odd... but then we got our food. It was super pitiful. I only got 2/3 of my trio of the vegetarian dish, then they wouldn't give me the 3rd part of it because we 'didn't pay for it'. I asked for it, never got it, yet paid for the actual entire dish. That frustrated me. It's one step above taco bell and I hate taco bell. We'll never go back. Also their horchatta is completely teeth-wrenching sweet. The portion we got was so miniscule also, that we went and got Chipotle right after.
