Very good! Hometown is Chicago (lots of pizza and hot dogs) so trying a new burger joint was great! I got the mac-attack (the burger with the macaroni and cheese and bacon) and was able to split it with my mom. A bit pricey ($40 for lemonade refiled once, Pepsi refiled twice, water with lemon, and two mac attack burgers each with fried chips and baked beans) but i think for the experience and amount of food it was worth it. read more

Went for dinner about a week ago with my sister and friend and absolutely loved it! We had seen the photos of the infamous shakes and crazy burgers on instagram and Facebook and I have to say that what you see in the pictures is exactly how they are served (we were very impressed). Our server, Miles, was very attentive and gave us great suggestions as to what we should order considering it was our first time. For whatever reason I thought it would be a good idea to visit Boston for New Years and my birthday on the 30th (turned twenty!). It was terribly cold and rainy and the hotel had no hot water but the saving grace was this restaurant. We waited about an hour for a table, about thirty minutes past the wait we were told it would be, but nonetheless we persisted. The restaurant was small but well decorated. We were intrigued by the shakes we saw people eating and the menu online. The open kitchen was a nice addition. I ordered hottest boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese and the chocolate peanut butter shake and my mom got a burger with the chocolate shake. The wings were great with the right amount of heat, and my mother said her burger was on the best she's had. I even dipped a few wings into my shake- pretty good. The peanut butter shake was large with every flavor coming through and melding together. I could have done without the decorations but it was trendy so I'll forgive it. The menu offers a great selection, and the food was delicious. The Pizza Fries had just enough sauce to really taste like pizza (and the sauce was great!) but not so much that there weren't still crispy fries. The 420 burger was massive like it promised! The meat was really good quality, and the BBC sauce is amazing. The bread that the burgers come on is buttery and delicious. We had the shake of the month, which was cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll itself was fabulous, just a little warm and gooey, the extra toppings were creative and delicious, and the actual milkshake was simple vanilla, which I appreciated bc with all those other sweet treats going on, what I really wanted was ice cold milk to wash it down with. Went there before with my friends and liked it. The food and drinks are good. Just went again with my friend and basically got rejected seating an hour and thirty minutes before they closed the kitchen because the host said "we close at 11." As someone that works full time bartending at one job and being a waiter at another being (basically) rejected seating after driving 30 minutes downtown and waiting for parking it is extremely frustrating to get such Poor service. Especially with a patio fully open with some clean tables and some unbussed tables. After seeing a bus boy come out on his phone texting before he cleaned some of them. My friend and I just went there for a quick bite. Our server was Ashley. She was super nice, friendly and very attentive. I explained to Ashley that I had a peanut sensitivity and when I took my order, she made sure to tell the kitchen and the barista making the frappe. The manager came over also and advised me that all the shakes are in close proximity with nuts and Ashley came over again to make sure I didn't want to change my order. Meh. Maybe it's my fault for ordering a vegetarian option at a burger company. But still. Just take the "veggie panini" off the menu. You think you're getting a warm, cheese sandwich (as the word "panini" implies) but NO. You're getting a cold sandwich with essentially just burger toppings. Slized mozz, tomato, mixed greens and sliced red peppers. It's like they just looked around for some veggies and threw them on a roll. It wasn't warm, it wasn't cheesy, and it definitely wasn't good. I was completely underwhelmed. When I complained to the bartender that the menu was false advertising, she said something like "Oh, I agree. It's not a panini at all. I went there yesterday, I ordered the "artery clogger" (ive seen it featured on the food Chanel) it was horrible, I took one bite and couldn't have anymore. There was no flavor whatsoever, all I could taste was grease. For my 3 year old I ordered a sampler, it had 4 mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, fried mac n cheese and fried pickles. The only thing she was able to eat was the mozzarella sticks, the chicken( should say it on the menu) was super spicy, the mac n cheese just tasted like grease and the pickles were horrible. We haven't been recently, so we decided to go for a late lunch today around 4:15pm. The place was basically empty, but we had to wait over 20 minutes for ONE burger. We asked for a cup of mayo, and the server stalked away silently, came back and basically threw it at us, again without saying a word. We had to ask over 2 different people to get a refill. What is going on? Why are customers now an inconvenience for you? I was going to recommend to my family coming from out of town to visit that they try your restaurant, but after today's negative experience, I doubt I will. Please train your employees to respect guests at a minimum, or be kind to them. A smile never hurt anyone. They could try it some time... We were initially excited to see a poster of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives signed by Guy Fieri when we walked in the door- we were amazed that we would be eating at a place that had been on TV! I imagine it's always pretty busy here during lunch hour; we came the day after the fourth at about 1 and didn't end up leaving until two hours later. We had only a 25 minute wait to be seated, though, and the service was pretty quick despite every seat being filled. The restaurant is pretty narrow and cramped altogether, and there was only one restroom which always had a line and was a major inconvenience. Everyone loved their food (mostly burgers); we thought the veggie burger was especially amazing compared to other ones. We wished we could swap the house chips for fries however, an unusual policy Boston Burger Company has that they would not budge on. And finally...the milkshakes! We ordered the nutella, 4th of July special, and the s'mores; the presentation was exquisite and scrumptious, however by the time we tackled the magnificent decor, the simply mediocre milkshake had warmed. We went to the location on boylston because we had a groupon. We grabbed a couple of seats that were at the bar and turns out they were a front row seat for the kitchen. The guy cooking the burgers was precooking all of them! He would fill up the grill, cook them then throw them in a bin and as orders came in he would slap them back on the grill. This made the burger meat tough and impossible to cook medium. Everything coming out of there will be medium well at best. Surprisingly not the worst burger I've had but certainly disappointed. I guess this bad review isn't the norm... but still my experience was terrible. I bought a Groupon thinking it'd be fun to try a new place, and I found their burger menu to be unique and intriguing. However, that's the only compliment I have... If you can even consider it a compliment. We went on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't busy because it was between the lunch and dinner rush. The hostess was prompt (I lied, two semi-compliments) and we sat immediately. Then we met our waitress... Groupon suggest you inform your server before you order, which is basically an open invitation for them to ignore you and treat you like a second-class citizen for the rest of your visit. It's like the segregated south or the caste system India, but in a burger joint in liberal Massachusetts. It's really ridiculous. Groupon should really consider changing that policy, because holding up that green G makes me feel like Hester Prynne. Whatever, let me continue, my proof is that she originally came right over and smiled and was super friendly and attentive. Then I waved my Scarlet Letter/Green G Printout and the shunning began. I'd say it took about 15 minutes to get our sodas, and we sat about 10 feet from the soda station. We finally ordered, despite making attempts to grab her attention, lunch finally seemed like a possibility. Famous last words. I people watch, I know it's creepy, whatever, but I counted three tables come in about 10 minutes AFTER we ordered our food. All three, which were a table of two, four, and SIX, received their food before us. On one occasion we even ordered the same fries as the table next to us and they got theirs before us, despite the fact that I saw them order at least 10 minutes after us. We waited 45 minutes, so the fry incident was kind of the last straw. They could have at least given us that order to hold us over and pretend like we weren't their last priority. Since my meter was going to run out soon (it was going to anyway but I didn't expect it to be out for THAT long) I told our waitress we had to split and asked to grab the check. She looked like a deer in headlights, which means she knew she screwed up and never said a thing while non-nonchalantly strolling by with every other patron in the joint's order but ours. She apologized (kinda) and I felt sort of bad and sat down since she said it was on it's way. So the roughly one hour wait for the burger culminated in overcooked (medium is not well done) meat and thick dry fries. The manager did come over and apologize, they took the fries off the bill (probably because they knew they were inedible) and gave us coupons that I wouldn't even give to my worst enemies. But that was nice of her to do, made it seem for the first time since we'd sat down that someone appreciated us and was happy we choose to eat at their restaurant. It was almost a foreign experience after an hour of hide and seek with our waitress. Let me point out something to you blond server, I was a waitress for many years. And I know how important tips are, but I also know that they are not required and excellent service is still rewarded. I tip well, above 20 for exceptional service and rarely do I tip below 20%. Unless they are that rude and that unwelcoming. Waiters should be polite, they don't even need to be fast or on top of every last thing. They just need to give a damn about their customer, because that is was the restaurant business is... SERVING CUSTOMERS. We come in to enjoy a meal. Not get so upset by a rude waitress that it ruins our meal entirely. A server is always friendly and the customer is always right. And no, I would never have tipped you on the amount after the groupon discount. I'm not a monster. Try not to judge people when they walk in, because when you're complaining about them later that night it isn't the groupon that made the tip low... it's your bad attitude and indifference to your customers. read more

The burger was cooked well and was quite tasty, and every component of the creation came together wonderfully. I'm torn as to whether or not give them three stars... you decide: I purchased a Groupon for this joint as my fiance and I have been in search of the "best burger" in Boston/South Shore. We also have been searching for a place that has different combinations of burgers/toppings and this place fit the bill. We hadn't had a chance to make it up to Boston since I first purchased the Groupon so we went this past Monday around lunchtime. There were two girls working and they were together the whole time, so I am assuming one must have been training. When we first walked in, there was another couple waiting to be seated in front of us and another man walked in behind us. There really is no place to wait. Once another family walked in I felt like I was cattle being hearded. There really was no "check-in" process as there was nobody there to greet us and we just had to stand around and wait. The waitress asked us about 3 times how many people in our party (2), and if we wanted to sit at the tiny table right next to the door. No thank you, we'll wait for a booth. So we waited about 15-20 minutes and we were sat at a booth with a dirty table. There was salt everywhere and the table was sticky. They have a pretty good menu and prices are pretty decent. We came for burgers so I didn't focus too much on the rest of the menu. They had a couple different beers other than your typical Coors and Bud which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, my Blue Moon was a little flat. For food, I decided on the Vermonster, my fiance the Inferno and we got a side of classic fries. The fries came out first... steak fries?? At a burger joint? Not a big deal, I was sure they'd be good regardless. I was so wrong. There was absolutely no flavor and the fries were not seasoned at all (not even with salt!). I wasn't thrilled with the fries and neither was my fiance. Next came the burgers. We both got chips and coleslaw as our "sides". The chips- again, no flavor, not seasoned with salt or anything. I was eating burnt potato slices. Not good. The coleslaw I didn't try but my fiance said it tasted like right out of a can. It did not taste fresh at all and it wasn't very tasty. The burgers- We both asked for "medium". Both of our burgers came back well done and it makes sense based on a previous review about pre-cooking the patties. I don't usually care if my burger is overdone as long as it is juicy. In my case, I couldn't tell because of the toppings. I must say the Vermonster has the potential to be a delicious burger. The toppings were all great and I loved the maple flavors that were in there. The burger itself didn't have much flavor, but because the toppings were so good, it didn't bother me so much. My fiance was extremely disappointed with his Inferno burger. It was dry, not seasoned and worst of all not hot, at least not to his liking. I have to admit, I wanted to try this place because I saw it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (although they were at a different location). I thought to myself "I love burgers and they have some creative ones (like one with Mac and cheese)." So while in Boston I knew I had to try it. I have to say that it was pretty good. I had the North Ender, due to my love of the North End and all things Italian. Fresh mozzarella , tomato and basil mayo on a burger. It was delicious. As a side you get homemade chips which are really good and your choice of baked beans or coleslaw. I chose the baked beans and I am so glad I did. They tasted like my moms, which I love. A little sweet with some bacon and onions. Heaven. To go along with the burger I had a Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale. The bartender asked if I wanted cinnamon and sugar on the rim and I thought "Why not?". Soooo good. Like Thanksgiving in my mouth (granted pumpkin pie is about the only Thanksgiving food I like). Last night was the first night I've ever been here. I was really excited to bring my boyfriend (who also has never been here). We are huge fans of anything ice cream and from the all the pictures on Instagram of the specialty frappes we knew we needed to try them. We grabbed a seat at the bar because the restaurant was packed which was fine by us. My bf ordered the Killer bee burger and a s'mores frappe and I ordered the pig pile and strawberry shortcake frappe. When we got the frappes it was far from a frappe. It was so watery and had no flavor. While sitting there I also realized that the cups for the frappes were sitting at the bottom shelf of the bar behind the bartender! Which I'm sure my bf cup had come from. When we had told the bartender how the frappes were not what we expected she said, "Well, that's the recipe." and proceeded to hand us our check. I was so shocked. I put two stars simply for the food we ordered because it was actually pretty good unlike the frappes. But for the poor service and the fact that the frappes were so horrible and over 10$ each -3 stars. read more
