Bagels

The good: I got 3 different cronuts (classic, cinnamon and Nutella filled), a ham and cheese croissant, a danish muffin, a breakfast sandwich and a tomato and cream cheese bagel for Father's Day breakfast. I liked the classic cronut a lot as well as the cinnamon one. Their donut box with the plastic window was nice and makes for a nice giftable item or potluck dessert. The bad: The Nutella cronut was a bit over the top and too decadent with the about of Nutella inside. The iced coffee was $8.50 (but it was 20 ounces). They didn't have other sizes at least from Door Dash. The interesting: The coffee tasted like a Vietnamese coffee and was super strong. Drinking half made me feel wired and nauseated.

I went to pick up an order I reserved from the "Too Good To Go app". At first the employee seemed really confused I kept showing her my reservation code and everything. She asked her coworker for help then she understood what I was picking up. So then she went to this room to grab some donuts and I had no idea if these were stored in a refrigerator or not. I then look at the box to see a squashed baby roach on it. This one lady was also very rude to my mom. She had used the app too and she had reserved the pickup the night before coming to the place. And the lady said "Next time don't do that before you come to the restaurant" even though it doesn't really matter. Don't think I would come back to this place again.

Donuts are always fresh when I buy them. Taste is 4 stars. Customer service is trash!! I just left from buying powerball tickets and started to walk out. The lady at the counter was SUPER rude!! My sister told her TWICE she was shortchanged money after winning on lottery tickets. The lady insisted her amount was correct until my sister showed her. She gave no apology, showed no accountability, nothing. Then put the money on the counter. I bought tickets and asked for a half dozen donut holes. The lady gave me the price for a dozen instead. I repeated myself several times before she snatched the card reader and told me the CORRECT price + a $0.65 machine charge. I was out of cash after buying powerball tickets and said hell no to the fee since my donuts were only $1.50. Luckily my sister had cash and paid. Customer service goes a long way!! People kill me how set up shop in an urban neighborhood then treat customers like *ish. I will think twice before giving my hard earned dollar to these people again.

Twisted glaze

Came in at around 8am and immediately noticed the familial rapport the owners had with customers. It was lovely/warm inside. Got a twisted glaze for $1.75 and it was sooo yummy, fresh, tear-able, and not overly sweet. Coming back forsure

This is one of my favorite donut shops. The donuts are always fresh and a pretty good size. They also do special event donuts. The service is quick and they are friendly. The shop smells like donuts! My photos show we couldn't wait to eat our donuts before my picture

Came in looking for a green juice walked out with a Sausage egg Ham and Cheese Croissant lol . Omg it's soooo fire. 10/10 highly recommend

Love this place, the donuts are always so tasty and the people who work there are always so sweet and very nice

Can't thank this place enough. They fulfilled a very last minute request for a giant donut cake and custom donuts for my donut-loving son. My son and his friends loved it. I'm personally little picky about my donuts, and these donuts were delicious! So happy to have found this place. Will definitely come back.

They have the BEST glazed cronut. I also got their cinnamon cronut which was good, less sweet.

"Soda & a Donut fo' 1 Dollllahh!" were the words that a…read moreformer Vietnamese owner of this spot used say to kids and teens growing up around here back in the days. I don't remember if he called it US DONUTS like it is nowadays, but that's what I remember about this spot growing up, so it already holds a lot of local nostalgia. As years gone by to this day, the newer owners through the years have pimped it out with different decors, ice creams, sandwiches, Lotto, etc.. It still feels like the old mixed in with a new school Asian-owned donut shops, minus the classic smoking inside by the owners and older folks like in the 80s. The parking is always in free abundance as it always has been before. The donuts themselves have actually improved because there's a little more variety along with the classics, plus their donuts taste wayyyy healthier and lighter while not losing flavor! Not as oily as it used to be by past owners! I personally love their crumb and blueberry donuts because they have that delicious texture that turns to fluffiness in the middle. Customer service has always been awesome. Nowadays, instead of an old lady or old man, you have a younger pretty lady helping you with your order. The place isn't too big or small, plus you it's cool to get a donut here after getting a Starbucks or some foods nearby in this same stripmall. It's like a perfect spot for some classic, homely desserts!

I'm all about the prices and quality of coffee. Get scratchers and lotto from here too! It's a lucky business for that. I've had a sandwich made once, and, I remember the croissant being wonderfully buttery and flaky. Their croissants are huge! By 10am, there was only 1 person working. I didn't have to wait in line. There are only a few tables here. It's best to take your food to-go.

Sidecar might change your mind about cake donuts…read more I'm usually a raised-donut person, but these are different. Fresh, they eat more like a pastry--super moist, rich without being heavy, and none of that dry crumble. Chocolate (Valrhona) is the one--deep, smooth, perfectly tender. The vegan strawberry matcha is a sleeper hit--the strawberry glaze smells like a field of ripe berries and actually makes you pause before the first bite, with the matcha keeping it grounded. They only had two raised that day, but both delivered. Vanilla was soft and airy, and the huckleberry had that bright tart-sweet glaze with zero fake flavor. Only note: don't over-order. Next day = noticeably more crumbly. Go, pick a few, eat them fresh. Clean plate club.

However, if you venture in the area on a weekend - it could be harder to find secure a spot. Over the years I've had their Huckleberry, Butter & Salt, Strawberry Buttermilk donuts from the regular menu. I've got a personal soft spot for the Huckebwrey & Saigon Cinnamon Crumb donuts (when available). Are the donuts pricy? Yes, but only because the flavor profiles are unique compared to standard shops open 24/7. Beverage wise, I've only had tried their chai and matcha lattes. Nothing negatively notable nor special, but they don't taste terrible. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to try the drinks since the cups are small for the amount of $ you pay. Service is quick here since the shop is so small and tends to fill up. The employees are great about answering customer questions to help guide patrons on what to purchase.

Review #986 2026-056…read more Food Order: Boston Cream $3.95 Butter Pistachio $4.95 Cookies & Cream $3.95 Crème Brûlée $4.95 Lemon Poppyseed $3.95 Raspberry Ring $3.95 Another one bites the dust... bada dum dum dum... During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive.
