It was my mistake ordering the middle eastern entrees at a pizza place. I'm guessing their pizzas are very good, hence the good reviews, so I should've just stuck with that. I ordered the Kefta Kabob, which was bitter in taste. I was expecting Basmati rice, but I got this hard, parboiled kind. Friendly staff but deplorable, borderline inedible, pizza. My girlfriend and I were headed to a play nearby and she was hungry so we stopped in there for a slice. She just wanted simple cheese. The pizza looked incredibly greasy as we got it. My girlfriend took one bite and a disgusted look crossed her face. The pizza had no sauce, the cheese was old and poor quality. [Thinking she already had the olives and peppers on lock down.] C: OK, so tomatoes, olives, ricotta... and what else? [The entire time she has been twisting and playing with her hair.] M: Peppers. C: That it? M: May I also have a chef's salad? C: What kind of dressing? M: What dressings do you have? [She rattles them off.] M: May I have a ranch and a Caesar dressing? [Panic sets into her eyes] C: Huh?! M: I don't mind paying extra for it. [She consults with someone and turns and nods, saying nothing] C: That it? M: Yes it is. C: Is that for here or to go? M: To go. [Now self conscious and wondering if I look like a person that would eat a whole salad and a large pizza] Now I hand her the card I am paying with and she hands me back the slip to sign and a capless Sharpie marker. Now, for those of you that know how long my last name is, I would like you two explain to me how to sign my name on a small credit card slip with a dull Sharpie. I mange to make a large black blob on the signature line and sit down to wait. The salad is ready and the shout over to me informing me of this fact. The person that took my order looked at me oddly since I wasn't getting up to get it. I said I also had a pizza, at which point her face went blank and she then squinted a little, tilted her head to the side, and said, "What kind?" I then looked at her blankly an in my head said, "Really? REALLY?!" I then started naming off the toppings and she turns and looks through the slips. "It's coming," she says. Then a guy calls out my pizza a bit later. I go up to the counter and see a rather small box. I ask, "This is a large?" He then informs me that the pizza before me is a medium. I then tell him I ordered a large. He then looks at the slip and tells me that I did not order a large (which is an amazing feat for him to know for certain since he wasn't around when I ordered). I inform him that I most certainly did order a large since it was for three people. "Well we charged you for a medium," he flat-out tells me. "But I needed a large," I reply. After a long pause, he says, "If you really want, I will make you a large." Since he made it sound like such a chore, I declined, telling him I didn't have time. Thankfully, I had a You've Been Yelped card in my pocket. I plopped it on the counter and left. I get the salad and pizza home and not only is the crust undercooked, the cheese isn't melted and the vegetables are still raw. The salad was rather nice with an assortment of leafy greens. It would have been nice if I had gotten the correct dressings that I ordered. I am very disappointed and underwhelmed. I wouldn't even have minded the fact That I had to turn my oven on and cook my pizza when I got home, but the lack of customer service and incorrect order just made things suck all the more. I was looking forward to this place since it is only two blocks away from where I live, but they just failed to deliver. read more

Last night my roommate and I got a buffalo chicken pizza and it was AWESOME. They use blue cheese as the sauce, mozzarella on top, and plenty of fried/breaded chicken pieces with buffalo sauce. the crust was thin and crispy and delicious. I woke up this morning wanting the leftover piece for breakfast and was very sad when i ate the last bite. This place is really the only delivery/carry out pizza that I find acceptable in Downtown Boston. They kept the prices reasonable and the meals delicious. This place blows New York Pizza out of the water and has really good homemade entrees to supplement the delicious NY style pizza. Food is always ready fast, in most cases 15 minutes. My favorite is the favorites for pizza is the bostonian, for entrees I always go with the eggplant parm, which is 100% homemade, making it my go to when looking for good old fashioned red sauce cheesy deliciousness. All this and more at some of the best prices around, the only thing I would warn against is the dine in option, the room can get crowded and people that frequent this place are quite annoying. read more

OK, I'm terribly biased by the fact that they're open on the weekend. The area gets pretty dead for food options so having one that's yummy is fantastic. We had a slice of cheese which was amazing. Great crisp level on the bottom, great tasting sauce - it was just fantastic. A single slice of the Bostonian wasn't great but I think the sauceless approach didn't recook for the single slice well and the flavors were good. We also had an eggplant parm and the jury's still out on that one. It used real eggplant and had the right level of breading but there were 1-2 slices which were too thick and so had too much texture. I'm excited to give the place a few weeks to iron out the kinks and have it as a regularly option! read more

Went here with a couple of friends for lunch, as we were very used to New York Pizza just a couple blocks away so we thought we'd try something new. We ordered the Fenway, which was very flavorful, but it took forever to get to our table and and the pizza was overall a bit soggy. Being an out-of-towner, I may be biased for lack of proper experience with Down-town cuisine, but let me assure you that on any scale, this is definitely a place to check out. Now, Boston Kitchen Pizza may be a bit slower and pricier than the McDonald's across the street, but you would be making a grievous mistake for settling with the latter. The slowness is no doubt partially due to the newness of the place, they've only been open a month and must have a measure of kinks to work out, but regardless, the generous portions and sheer quality make it more than worth it. After noticing that they do in fact carry many other cuisines than straight-up pizza, I settled on a Bacon Chedder Burger, minus the cheese and with a bit of hot sauce on top. In the menu, it had said that burgers came with a side of french fries AND onion rings. I chalked this up to a typo, and sat idly for a few minutes wondering what I was to expect. It turned out to mean exactly what it said, as my scrumptious, flavorful, mouth-watering, and surprisingly un-greasy burger was accompanied by a small mountain range of immaculately crispy french fries AND onion rings to match. You definitely get your money's worth at this place! At first, I was a bit apprehensive about being able to even make a dent my order, but fear not, for with taste more than a match for my natural instincts, and I finished the entire freakin thing in mere minutes, feeling sad to see it go. I definitely recommend this place, I'll just hafta make sure I only go when I'm really hungry. read more

I ordered my slices, and the guy working the pizza oven uses his bare hands and throws the slices into the oven, then uses his bare hands to put the slices on my plate. I have no clue what he had previously been touching, and do not appreciate his bare hands all over my food. He walked to the oven from the back, so I do not know if hands were washed, nor what he had been doing before his hands were all over my food. The pizza, meh. Bland as can be. This place is horrible. I downloaded a copy of their menu from their website- and it did not load properly on my computer. So, when I called to order- they put me on hold (which I didn't mind since they were busy), but everytime they picked up the phone, they kept saying "hold on". Then when I finally talked to the cashier, she asked me what I wanted to order and I told her how the menu did not load. I asked her what she recommended and she said, "We are really busy, once you figure out what you want, call us back." I've stopped in here a few times when working at Tufts (I'm a per-diem medical prof.) and the food is good. They've got a fantastic thinner pizza, and it's the only quick pizza joint nearby. It gets really busy during lunch and dinner, and that makes it tough to get in and out. I wish there was an easier way to order. 3 Stars until they get the ordering process taken care of! It's 2015 for crying out loud, why no online ordering? Obviously the older gentleman who runs the restaurant doesn't understand the issues healthcare professionals face like how we can't use a phone to call during a shift most of the time, could totally order online with ease, also, our breaks are so quick and half the time is spent getting out of the facility, so being able to scoot over and pick up quickly would be a godsend! read more

"The Bostonian" pizza craving hits me every so often and I just don't want anything else until I get my hands on some! This pizza is super delish, from the toppings down to the bread. Oh, and the sizes are generous for the price! I also live right around the corner, but they are still always willing to deliver to me and they even waive the delivery minimum if they're not busy!
