Felcaro Pizzeria is a good spot to grab a slice while walking around the area. I stopped by on a Thursday, just before 9pm and was happy to grab something quick to eat on the go. The employee behind the counter heated my pizza up and had it to me in no time. This isn't the type of place where I'd really sit down to eat, as there wasn't much ambiance. I could see it getting a little busier on a weekend night, though. I'm rating Felcaro Pizzeria on what I would consider to be my Boston Pizza Scale, not my Overall Pizza Scale. In other words, this place is a Boston 3, but a New York City 1.5. The slice itself was pretty big and not overly greasy, but the pepperoni didn't have too much flavor to it. I was at hospital across the street for a procedure and afterwards didn't want to try the hospital cafeteria. Wanted something quick and easy so gave this place a try. The wait for food was bit longer than expected probably due to it being made to order. Most people here just get pizzas but the wraps I got were pretty good. I waited inside and it's got few decent size tables so it's a good choice to dine in on a cold winter day like lately. Would return again if I have a chance to visit the area again. There are a few pizza and sub spots along Cambridge Street and Felcaro is one of them. We popped in for lunch. A few different pizzas available and ready, they also have a wide menu of others they'll prepare and sandwiches/subs too. I ordered two slices of the veggie pizza and after a few minutes of being reheated in the oven, they were ready. Nicely topped with red onions, green peppers, mushrooms, chunked and sliced tomatoes. The crust was nice and crisp on the bottom. Very thick, almost too much to fold in half. Two slices was plenty for this big boy. Some tables and counter space inside. Great for late night grub! Came here after a night out for a friend's birthday. This was the closest spot that was still open after 2am. There was some what of a line and by the time we got up to the counter the line was to the door. Mostly young to mid twenty-somethings just trying to get their late night drunchies. At the time we were there they had about 5 different topping choices that were ready by the slice. If I remember correctly I think they were about $4 a slice. We got 3 slices, a pepperoni, veggie and meat lovers. We also got a steak and cheese calzone and fries. Our total came out to about $26. The pizza was good and so were the fries. We took the calzone to go to heat it up in the morning. Our group was able to snag half of a table so we could sit down to eat. There is limited amount of space to eat if you're dining in late. Since they push some tables and chairs against the wall to make room for new customers. Overall it's a substantial place for some late night pizza. And the food overall was worth the money in my opinion for a late night pick me up. I would much rather choose this place over a chain that rhymes with Rominos. read more

When it is late at night on Beacon Hill and you have that craving for a late night snack, Felcaro Pizza is the right place at the right time. At least it was for us when we were up for a late night snack. Felcaro Pizza is diagonally across from the Beacon Hill Wyndham where we were staying on Cambridge Street. If you are unfamiliar with Cambridge Street it is the busy arterial that divides Beacon Hill from the West End and connects Cambridge with downtown Boston. In the vicinity of the Beacon Hill Wyndham, Cambridge Street is devoid of activity on a late weeknight in Boston. The CVS has long closed for the night. When you are by this hotel and Massachusetts General Hospital, a late night pizzeria and sub shop is golden. When we were walking west on Cambridge Street hoping that the further CVS by the station was open, we came across Felcaro. In addition to Felcaro being the cure for a late night snack attack, it would bestow me with one more chance to eat and savour that delicious Boston pizza that is rare where I live in Las Vegas. For sure, the slice of pizza that went for around $3 and 16 ounce bottle of soda exceeding $2 was inflated; but it was worth it. It wasn't the best but at the time I ate it in the late night for those minutes it was. Although it is considered Boston style pizza, the slice was identical to the New York slice that I grew up with. There was zero difference in the thin slice, marinara sauce, and melting cheese. Just like the New York slice of pizza that molded me into a life long pizza lover, I couldn't have only one. I'd return to the counter for a second. Where my brother and I seemed to have the northernmost sidewalk of Beacon Hill (Cambridge Street) to ourselves, we shared Felcaro Pizza with several night owls. There was a constant line to the counter and the pizzeria was close to filling up. The clientele ranging from college kids to seniors created a moderate to loud noise level. If I wanted to listen to a professional sports broadcast on the TV that hung from the brick wall or to the right of the counter, it would be hard to hear. Felcaro was more about the scent of taste than hearing. When we left Felcaro it was a much closer walk to the hotel than it would of been from the CVS by the station if it was even open. My post dining mood was appreciation for the facts that Felcaro was open late and granted me an additional opportunity to eat and savour Boston pizza. read more

I'm not going to go into a lengthy discourse on how much better pizza is in Brooklyn, because that'd probably be pretty annoying. Good thing I didn't say anything about it. I'm just going to tell you a quick few things: 1. The Caesar salad with chicken is very tasty, and a great deal. It's a sizable portion, and I love the spice rub they are throwing on the chicken. 2. A fresh pie is so much better than a slice that's been sitting there for...a long time, it seems. Everything was good until I got an email about a half hour after I ordered saying that the order had been cancelled because they did not have anyone to deliver the order. Ordering through doordash did not give the option to order gluten free, but we made a special instruction requesting gluten free. We decided to order from Felcaro to give them another chance. We placed the order through their website, felcaropizza.com. We ordered A chesseburger Dinner, A cheeseburger sub, a Meatball sub, Fried Cheese Raviloi, a Curly Fry, one slice of cheese cake, and a 2 ltr of Diet Mountain Dew, with a typed in instruction that if they didn't have Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi would be fine. We live about 4 blocks away. It took over 45 minutes to get the order. Unfortunately they didn't send the cheese cake slice, and they sent a regular mountain dew. We realized it wasn't the diet, only after it was opened. I called and told them about the forgotten cheese cake and the wrong soda. I said I just wanted the Cheesecake slice, and they didn't have to send the soda because we didn't check before opening it. The delivery guy was back fairly quickly with 2 slices of cheese cake and a Bottle of diet pepsi. It was very nice of them to send an extra cheese cake slice (my roomate was happy to have it), to try to make amends for the forgotten item and soda mistake, unfortuntely there were other problems with the food. My roomate said "the Meatball sub was sad... The sauce was thin/watery, and the meatballs where flavorless ball shaped mush." My boyfriend said "the Cheeseburger sub was Extremely over done." He didn't end up eating it (his dinner ended up being the toasted ravioli and 1/2 the curly fries). The Cheeseburger dinner on the website gives the option to pick a salad and a dressing... this is the only option that is given, there is no other description as to what your cheeseburger dinner will include. I typed in the instructions as to what I wanted on my burger. My burger had everything I asked for, the patty was a good thickness but a little overdone. I was also sad to see they no longer the pretzel buns. My issue with the dinner was that it came only with a lot of fries and the burger, there was no salad; then why did I have to pick a dressing? The online ordering menu needs work. I noticed that if you order a cheese burge sub, it gives you options for condements, but that does not happen with the cheeseburger dinner. If you Never have 2ltr Diet Mountain Dew, then it shouldn't be an option on your menu. If you are out of something, customers give you a phone number, call the customer and give them options, this will save you time and money. Did it take so long for us to get our food because your kitchen is busy, or is it that your delivery guy has to make extra trips to fix problems? If the subs had been better and I had gotten both salad and fries in the dinner, this would have been a 4 star review despite the earlier mix up. read more

* So close, yet so far! * This is a fairly average NY style pizza parlor. I imagine if they would actually have heated up the slice before serving it that it could have been better. But they just served directly from the display to plate. Reading other people's reviews it sounds like sometimes they heat it up for you - which they should. But alas I was unlucky. I had a sausage, pepper and onion slice as well as a regular slice. The crust on both was ok, but since it was lukewarm it had hardened up a bit more than it should. The sausage on the topped slice was a bit burned and tasted like commercial sausage rather than a good handmade one like a top notch pizzeria would serve. The bell peppers on that same slice were a bit undercooked, as were the onions. The regular slice was a bit better, because at least everything was cooked evenly. Feeling stressed and going through pizza withdrawals, I decided to cheat on my diet and get a slice [okay, two slices]. I work across the street at MGH, so this is one of the closer pizza joints in the area. I haven't been here in almost a year, but I'm pretty sure the pizza was better last time. Today I got the slice of the day, buffalo chicken, and a slice of plain cheese. The buffalo chicken pizza was really greasy and didn't taste like buffalo sauce at all. It was drizzled with ranch or blue cheese dressing. Couldn't tell which because everything was just "blah". I ate half of that and moved on to the slice of cheese. I was annoyed to find that most of the cheese was stuck to a paper plate that was used to hold the buffalo chicken slice. I wish I had the foresight to ask for the slices to be packaged separately. However, I think they should have known that would happen and packaged it separately to begin with. The slice of cheese was a combination of blah and meh. I ate half of that one as well and then threw in the towel. This pizza is okay in a pinch, but not worth sabotaging your diet over. Late and Double Charged I ordered a cheese pizza from Falcaro Pizzeria to be delivered to my hotel. When I went to pay for the pizza, they told me that my credit card was declined so they rang it through again. They said it was again declined but I received two text notifications saying that a transaction had been processed for Falcaro Pizzeria. They said that I had not paid in their system so then needed another form of payment. I gave them another credit card because my family was starving after a long day of travel. They charged my other card and I received another notification that my (other) credit card was used. THEN, they said the pizza would be ready in 25 minutes. 50 minutes later the pizza showed up cold and inedible. They never reversed the duplicate charges and so I submitted a claim with my credit card company. To date, they still have not given the credit card company the information they have asked for to take care of the claim. In short, I would never order from them again, in person or delivery. I walk by this place all the time, but somehow didn't make it inside until yesterday. I broke my "no dairy" rule for this place, so I was pretty excited for some real cheese pizza. It's pretty small, with a few counter spots and maybe 6-8 tables. The staff wasn't too friendly but were polite enough. I didn't order from the full menu, just slices. They didn't have tons of slice options out, but they all looked good. I ended up ordering 1 cheese and 1 special (white pizza with tomatoes on it). And a bottle of diet coke. All of that only cost only $7... really cheap. The staff brings the pizza out to your table for you. The slices were HUGE and I couldn't eat the entire 2 slices, despite the fact that I walked in starving. I was really surprised by how delicious the slices were. The cheese was significantly above average but the white pizza was AMAZING. I work the night shift nearby, and was craving something super fattening and carb-loaded instead of heating up my sad bowl of campbells soup. After calling in my order, the guy on the phone told me my order would be ready in 5 min.. which probably should've been suspicious since there's no way a good calzone could be ready in 5. When I got there, there was quite a lot of drunk 20-30 year olds scattered at each table. I quickly noticed why my calzone was ready so quickly- many of the menu items were already cooked who knows when and on display in the window. I wish I had ordered some of the less popular items so it would be cooked to order, but I digress. The staff was friendly, still wore a smile and were joking with customers. The calzone was warm and served with a side of marinara. Now in terms of taste? Its EXACTLY what you would expect a calzone to taste like at 1am.. minimally stuffed and kinda bland, with little pieces of steak and really not much cheese in it. Nevertheless it still tasted better than my canned soup, and I still devoured it. Just don't have high expectations for good quality pizza/calzones and you'll still find a place to fill up on when everywhere else is closed.
