We were recently in Boston for a couple days and I wanted pizza. We'd eaten all kinds of food and in all kinds of places, but Jim wanted Pizza, so we asked the concierge at the hotel where we could find some killer pizza. Without hesitation he said "New York Pizza. It's just a couple blocks away". And off we went, walking the streets of Boston to get pizza, having no idea what we were heading towards. When we arrived we were greeted with a storefront and order-at-the-counter pizza. Not what I was expecting, but I was OK with it. We looked at the menu and -- WOW -- the pizza options were nearly endless! I'm guessing about two dozen pizza varieties with more combinations of toppings that I thought were mathematically possible. And these pizzas were H U G E ! There are about a dozen tables and not enough chairs at New York Pizza, so if you find an empty chair - hey, fair game. We managed to get 4 chair for our high top four top. While we were placing our order I asked the guy behind the counter if this place was always this busy. He said "busy? This is slow!". I can't even imagine, because every table was occupied. Aside from the menu boards and the music (they were playing a varied playlist of 80s, 90s, and 2000s), it wasn't big on décor, but it suited it's purpose. I imagine the do a pretty significant takeout business. After about 2 minutes of consideration we landed on a Meat Lover's pizza. After a day of A LOT of walking, a pizza with pepperoni, ham, and sausage sounded 100% perfect. I looked like a lot of pizza. And I recall thinking "there's no way the four of us can eat a pizza that big!". (more on that later). There is no soda fountain so your beverage came out of a can or bottle from a refrigerator. Fast forward about 12 minutes and our pizza was called. It. Was. Freaking. Enormous. And it looked SOOO good. And it was hot. I mean HAWT! It was so hot we had to let it set for about 5 minutes before we could grab a slice. (non sequitur) I've never been a fan of folding pizza in half. I've given shade to people who fold pizza in half quite a few times. After much consideration, I now feel like I need to apologize to those people. This pizza was so big and the crust so thin that you had to fold it in half...and I'm going to sheepishly admit that I embraced the folding of the pizza slice. For one thing, to keep from scalding the inside of my mouth, and to keep from wearing pizza sauce on either side of you face like Joker. The pizza amazingly delicious and we ate with abandon. If you're here after last call, prepare to be scammed. This business is one of the only ones open this late and have the upper hand. The pizza slices are large, they keep the line moving, they're ready for the crowd. However, since they rush you through, you don't realize what you're paying for. My friend and I got two cheese slices and were both charged around $15 each. They basically charged us for a small pizza. Even if each slice is $5 each, we were overcharged. Conveniently there was no menu around either. Been stopping by here for years. Like the new renovations and branding. Was working down the street and popped in here with a buddy for a quick lunch, was strapped for time so we made it quick. They always have plenty of huge pies in the display case and always constantly replenishing! Went with chix bacon ranch today, the slices are NY style so really it's like 2-3 slices in one haha. Where else to go after a late night out but to get some good pizza. We were exploring the city on a Friday night and getting hungry when we ran into this pizza shop. I was very curious to see how New York pizza would taste in Boston. The place was packed with lots of people who were coming for their late-night meal. The plain slices are start at $5.50 and toppings cost more. The size of one slice is about two regular slices. I guess they make the pizza slices bigger in Boston for some reason. I decided to go with the pepperoni. It was decent late-night pizza but I don't know if I would come here on a regular weekday. The pizza slices are very large and hard to hold with both hands. It was very chewy and lacked any real flavor. It was not the same crispy fresh slice that you could find in New York City. Then again it is usually hard to find a good place outside of New York that serves New York style pizza. It was worth it for a late-night snack but that was about it for me. read more

HUGE slices of pizza! This was conveniently located by the hotel and open late. I think for what you get the price was worth it. They have the pizza premade and they heat it back up in the oven. I had quite a few slices and every single one was good and very filling. The cashier was cool and answered my many questions on what the different special slices were. It cost $5 for a pepperoni and $4.50 for a slice of cheese. They're about 50% bigger than the normal size and they're greasy (that's a good thing in this case) and delicious too. I've rarely had a bad slice here having come here countless times over the years. It's a small venue and can only seat about 20 people, if that. If they gave me a lukewarm slice for $5, I'd give them a pizza my mind, but so far that hasn't happened. It happened to my friend though, but then they're kinda mean when they order. Comes from upbringing (?). This is a very interesting pizza shop with actually surprisingly pretty delicious pizza and massive slices. It's such a crazy lobby in here that they actually have to hire security just to work the door and let people in, in batches. One of the guys took a look at my oiled up muscles and said "you here for the security position, you're hired" as a joke. That obviously made me feel good (so does Barbie, regularly). I've seen so many fights inside and outside, and don't wear anything too nice into here because you'll have drunk people constantly bumping into you and supergreasy slices will constantly be waved around your arms and faces and squidge up against your outfit (I learned the hard way, and speaking of hard...) There's no real line so just push your way to the front along with everyone else (I'm not being a jerk, it's what everyone does, if you try to wait in line, no pizza for you), and try not to be too rude and obnoxious. Once you get up there, get a slice, which is actually pretty decent especially by Bostonian and by late night standards. If not a 5-star slice (not by any stretch of the imagination), I can definitely give it a solid 4, especially considering how late it's open at night. It is a little bit too greasy - okay it's a lot too greasy - and there are some very nasty people working here and coming in here, but also, there's also a lot of extremely attractive people in here picking each other up in a drunken stupor, which is fun to watch and participate in (if you have less moral fortitude than I, I will not pick up a drunk girl ever, or rather, allow pushy gorgeous drunk girls to pick me up regardless of how tempting). That crazy show of wild young human life kind of makes it worth it, and the pizza is yum too really. Come and see for yourself. read more
