They are friendly, super-knowledgable and you can tell they tailor their help and conversation to the experience level of the customers. I saw/heard one self-professed beginner being helped with everything, sounding so thankful. I did the ski simulatror and it was awesome. I've been skiing since i was 4, and this is an amazing feature. It works you as hard as you're willing to work or as easy as you want to go. Perfect to help the ski legs, and a great way to try out different boots. I'd like to do it more just as a great dryland workout! P.S: They have a staff dialed in on tennis and pickleball as well. I went through the demo program looking for a new racquet. When I decided to purchase one I was unsure on a grip size and the man working said we can always make them bigger we can make them smaller so I went with the smaller size. After playing with my new racquet I found the grip size to be too small, I returned to the store and they tried to charge me $10 for a grip sleeve and told me the racquet was customized and I couldn't exchange it. After doing some a quick google search I found an easy way to measure grip size. I just paid $300+ for the racquet, strings and demo program, you guys are the experts. Grip size should be measured when selling a raquet. It is not a preference like style, brand, heaviness, swing weight etc. I am very upset that I need to put tape over a brand new racquet to make it the right size when you could've easily thrown the racquet into the demo program and ordered me the correct size. I went to Boston Ski and Tennis in Westborough yesterday for a boot fitting as I am updating my ski gear. Brian was my fitter and he was excellent, very knowledgeable. After he took my measurements, asked some questions about my level and skis and walked me through the process he brought out a few options. Based on his recommendations and fit I ended up going with the Technical Mach1 MV 130, I suspected this might be my choice based on research prior to the visit but was great to try out a few different brands. Brian also brought out some less expensive options in case I wanted to go with something cheaper but the Mach1 ended up being the best choice for me, excellent experience and would highly recommend. read more

I was getting back into tennis and was looking to get a new racket. I was drowning in confusion from online racket reviews and decided to do the demo program, which was a great decision. Ben listened to what I liked or disliked about particular rackets and suggested next choices. In the end, he recommended a racket that I was resistant to and had not even considered. Common wisdom is to get new ski boots at the mountain and that your 'local' shop won't have experienced fitters. My experience at Boston SKi and Tennis in Needham was AWESOME. Since this is probably my fifth or sixth pair of boots in my life, I have had a fair amount of experience buying boots -- from Jax Hole to Snowbird to Sugarbush - and Sean was a really good boot fitter. He was thoughtful and methodical and I am very happy with my new boots. I can't say enough positive about the experience. read more

I called ahead about getting bindings adjusted for new boots, they said come right in. So I did. When I got there they said since the bindings are older than 6 years ( they are about 8 ) they cannot touch them due to liability reasons. What a wasted trip. I wish they asked on the phone. I'd been skiing in a pair of 130 flex racing boots that I'd bought off Ebay on a whim because they were a great deal, and of course they didn't fit properly. After yardsaling on a relatively easy run last year and partially tearing my MCL, and months of physical therapy later, I was determined to find a proper bootfitter. I educated myself on how a ski boot should actually fit and what a good bootfitter should ask and started looking around and Boston Ski and Tennis came up as a nearby location. Their website made it clear that they had America's Best Bootfitters on staff so I made an appointment for the next day. I arrived 30 mins early to poke around but Tony said he could take care of me right away. He checked my ankle flexibility, foot volume, asked all the right questions and explained differences in boot lasts and liners, really took his time to find a boot that would work for my skill level and what I wanted to do going forward. When Tony went back to get the correct size in the boot he had determined would work for me, they were unfortunately sold out of that exact size in the correct flex, but Tony did not stop there. He wanted me to see what a proper fitting boot felt like so he found the same model in a softer flex and had me try it on. Remember, he already knew at this point they didn't have my boot in stock and wouldn't be making a sale that day, but he went the extra 5 miles and made sure I knew exactly what boot to get when I bought it elsewhere. You rarely see service like this anymore. Businesses and people like this deserve our support, so please, go see Tony for anything skiing-related. They have won my business and my loyalty. read more

a huge thank you to the Westborough location, particularly "Alexi" for amazing customer service and friendliness during a hectic time. We live 15 min away from the Newton location and have been satisfied with their service in the past. However, this past Fall, maybe due to a pandemic-driven eagerness of the majority of Bostonians to ski/snowboard, rental appointments, which were done online, became out of control. In late September/early October, the Newton location was completely booked till January 4th...phoning them, you could sense the stress and unwillingness to help because they were overwhelmed. So as we were in a pinch, we called the Westborough location (smaller store), who were so friendly and accommodating...they squeezed us in an appointment the next day, even though they were fully booked as well. We found larger adult size ski boots for my son that however, would not fit his junior racing skis. So "Alexi" went above and beyond to tell us how to reach her colleague in the Newton location who would be able to fix this problem, the same day!! they swapped the adult boots for similar size, yet junior style boots that fit the skis within 30min. It was such a relief...as my son did not want different skis. We are so appreciative to Alexi in Westborough and the colleague she referred us to in Newton to go around this problem. While having dinner in the same plaza as Boston Ski & Tennis I figured I would stop in just to check out what the store has to offer. Ever since my first visit two years ago I have been hooked. I've never been disappointed in their service or in the selection of merchandise they carry. I was fortunate enough to meet the buyer of the store, Avery and she is such a pleasure to deal with. The entire staff has been extremely helpful, friendly and not to mention they are very knowledgeable in the items carried at the store. Avery definitely went above and beyond for me as she helped explain in detail the importance of choosing the right fitting helmet, buying the right travel bag for my ski boots, picking out the perfect ski bag and back pack. On top of all of that- she also gave me helpful tips while traveling with my ski gear and advice on what to wear on the mountain such as wool socks and absolutely no cotton. I have purchased multiple items here- all quality at great prices. I've been to other ski shops in the Westborough and Worcester area, but this shop has exceeded my expectations time and time again. No matter who is working and regardless of the time- rest assure you will be greeted with a warm smile and attentive service. One more reason why I love this place--- They are not trying to sell you everything and anything. They know their stuff and do not push you to buy unnecessary junk. So have used them before for rentals, but this time was horrible. My son rented boots for the season. Was told,"these have only been used 3 time", total lie. When he went to demo skis at the ski resort, he was told, boots are too worn and "dangerous" and we had to rent boots at the mountain. He brought the boots back and was told, "we have a 14 day return policy, sorry". But next year we will give you 50'% off your rental. Well, there will not be a next year, ever!!!!!! read more

They have great service. Each time we've gone, the service is prompt, intelligent, friendly and they remember familiar faces. Recently we ordered an XS helmet for my daughter who participates in the ski ward racing team. She needed it tomorrow for a race - rules insist on hard sided helmets. They realized they wouldn't have it, and they knew we needed it, so they got us one from framingham - meaning they drove to framingham to get it for us and they charged us the price they would have for the one we ordered even though this one was more expensive. I'll admit I was skeptical the first couple of times I visited Boston Ski + Tennis, but now I am definitely a fan. The folks here definitely know what they are doing, and they are super friendly on top of that. My only complaint is that the apparel selection is a bit limited, but what they do carry is high quality. Tony blew me away with his boot fitting prowess. I dread buying ski boots because it was such a difficult process last time -- trying on multiple pairs of boots, squeezing your poor feet in and out of constricting boots, tight spots, sore spots, not supportive enough, too stiff... you get the idea. But, Tony has gone through an extensive certification process to fit and recommend the best boot for your foot and skiing ability. After spending five minutes sizing and sizing up my feet, Tony brought out one pair of boots. ONE. But they were perfect. I had him bring out another pair just for comparison, but as soon as my feet hit the footbed, I knew they were all wrong. The first pair was practically made for my foot, and Tony knew it. He was able to explain why I was having the challenges with fit and comfort I was having, and he reassured me that those problems would most likely end with these boots. I was one giddy customer. Nancy was wonderful recommending gloves and base layers. The tuning team had my skis ready to go several days earlier than promised. We bought two pairs of adult boots from here and rented skis and boots for the family. The staff was friendly and helpful during the process, but the results were poor: They messed up the stickers with the names on the rented boots and skis so we were stuck playing 'guess the kids' boot/ski match' at the ski resort. Total fiasco. Worse, the purchased boots they fit for my wife and I were not good. I lost a toenail in one boot because they were too tight. My wife's arches hurt in hers. We both went back for refitting, which they happily did. Still not a good fit. Out of frustration we went to a ski shop at a big resort and the guy there said they had given me a racing fit (i'm a beginner) and that's why they were tight. Bummer. He also said the custom soles in my wife's boot were just poorly made. We had them remade and ate the cost. Nice folks, but caused us a lot of headache. read more

Super helpful service! Went in to get my racket restrung and they pointed out a giant crack in my rim. Rather than trying to take advantage of me and hard selling a new racket they offered to let me take home two demos. Afterward they let me buy the used demo at a price way within my budget (starving medical student budget). So happy with the result. Will definitely return! read more

When they noticed that my child's boots were too worn to adjust to bindings, they just loaned me some rental boots to get through the rest of season. They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Only thing I would like to see is lower prices. I would shop there more if their prices were closer to online prices. But, I be back a lot because of the great service. read more

Would get 5 stars except for our most recent visit. Everyone we have ever worked with has been amazingly helpful and friendly. However our last visit we had to deal with a very unhappy woman. She was visibly annoyed by having to help us for a basic transaction but worse was beyond rude and nasty to an Indian family that was having their skis serviced. It was embarrassing to see blatant racism like that. She should not be working with the public. We will continue to go there because everyone else is so awesome and their prices are reasonable but they should either get rid of her of just not let her deal with customers; she is dragging the place down. read more

Was looking for a tennis shoe that would fit my aching feet. Tony was amazingly helpful. He diagnosed my foot problem which was confirmed by a podiatrist (my PCP could not!) and recommended appropriate shoes. I have been consistently very impressed with the attentive, responsive, personal service I have received. Tony, who is highly knowledgeable, spent a great deal of time fitting my daughter for new boots, helmut and goggles. He did not pressure me to buy nor did he push any particular brand. He knows how to fit boots better than any other salesperson I have ever come across.. I feel my whole family is in very good hands when I go there. Not a huge line of apparel, but that can be easily bought online, anyway. Boot-fitting and helmut-fitting is something that must be done in person, and this is the place to go for that. Whether I am buying or simply looking, I am met with a friendly smile and sincere appreciation. This is a gem of a store.
