This place rocked! As for ambiance, it was exactly what I was looking for in a restaurant. Both the food and service was outstanding. I really enjoyed the appetizers (escargot, mussels, the the charcuterie board). I was thoroughly impressed with their almond cherry goat cheese. Heck of a blend. For the mains, I had this seafood bouillabaisse which was delicious and my colleague had the A5 wagyu which he said was amazing. I will have to come back next time I'm in Tulsa. read more

Hands-down the best dining experience in Tulsa. Going to Boston Title & Abstract is like teleporting to a different dimension... once you go down those stairs, you're no longer in present-day Tulsa, but very clearly somewhere else, somewhere special. Make a reservation. I'd tried to go twice before but was unable to be seated because the place is intimate and quite popular amongst those "in the know." Also - we were spoiled with free Prosecco for making a reservation! Our server, Chris, recommended the Steak Frites and Bouillabaisse, which we trustingly ordered, choosing escargot to start. I also ordered a Hendricks gin and tonic (since I was in a basement speakeasy after all!) I never order steak out, especially not at upscale restaurants because I'm frequently disappointed. I make a mean steak myself and enjoy choosing and preparing my own steaks.... But Chris said the Steak Frites with red onion marmalade, bleu cheese, and truffle aioli was the most popular thing on the menu and he seemed really genuine so I actually broke one of my own rules and boy am I glad I did. The Steak Frites at Boston T&A is the best steak I've had since my previous review of the Peddler in Gatlinburg, TN. Even better, because the combo of red onion marmalade, bleu, and truffle combined with melt in your mouth, perfectly medium steak, and then those chunky, salty fries.... were like a heavenly orgy served up on a plate in the amazing atmosphere of this truly sacred space. Even the music last night was on point! The escargot and bouillabaisse were very good, very very good, don't get me wrong. But when I return to Boston T&A I'm going straight for the Steak Frites. Unfortunately, the drink options were limited, the food was underwhelming and our waiter came across as pretentious and annoyed. The food was overall average, but I very much enjoyed the Tarte Flambé appetizer, and the escargot was fine. I did not enjoy the duck gnocchi, but I was branching out with this choice, so not a lot of comparison. I think duck isn't for me. The steak frites menu item was good, but quite pricy for what it was. I would order it again though. I absolutely do not recommend the dessert menagerie. The brownie was borderline inedible. Overall, didn't love my experience, but they alternate the menu frequently and offer specials, so on another night, the food may be better. Boston Title & Abstract displays a really cool speakeasy atmosphere. The location has a lot of charm and the ambiance is really nice. You go down the stairs to find an old style elevator as part of the decor. The bar/restaurant looks cozy and my wife loved the charming and intimate atmosphere. We were placed upstairs and had an overlook of the bar/ open kitchen area which looked great! After learning that we were celebrating a birthday the host immediately offered complimentary Prosecco which was a very nice gesture! We ordered the crab cakes and the escargot dish as appetizers. Unfortunately the escargots were not to my taste. The crab cakes were okay, nothing amazing. For dinner I had the Bourguignon and my wife got the shrimp linguini. She really liked her dish, but my Beef Bourguignon was underwhelming. To be fair I am French and am used to authentic French cuisine so I am always very critical of any restaurant trying to serve "French inspired food" around here because, well it's never really close to what I expect. I'll start with saying that I love the atmosphere of this place. Hidden underground, cool lighting, hipster vibes. They have a large selection of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine. When it comes to the food, it wasn't my favorite. Perhaps it's even a little overrated. The person who took us to dinner order almost one of everything. The cheese board was wonderful but everything else was subpar. The steak frites were underwhelming. The lamb was just okay. The gnocchi was way too creamy for us. Everything is simply define at this petite restaurant in downtown Tulsa. You enter the restaurant through the alley, through art deco doors he take a quick right at the door marked Boston tile and abstract. Then you go down two flights of stairs and there you will see what used to be a speakeasy during prohibition. The staff will greet you with a glass of bubbly to get the night started right, then they will lead you to your table or to the bar. (Remember to make a reservation through their website because seating is limited.) The meal was exquisite and our waiter Zach was the epitome of upscale service. It was an awful experience from beginning to end. Truly dissappointing from the service to the quality of food, and the drinks were just eh. I reserved a table for 7:30 and put in the notes that we were celebrating my birthay. We arrived at 7:30 and they couldnt find our reservation and then looked again and said that we had reserved it for 7:15. I would have never chosen that time. They seated us at a two top right next to the kitchen. When we asked to have a different table they said since we were late this was the only option even though there were several two tops open and were never filled that evening. I asked my son and his girfriend to join us for a drink and they were turned away at the front desk! They clearly said previously that the couch and bar were for walk-ins and I had planned on sitting with them at the couch for one drink. They refused to let them sit at the couch or the bar and said it was fully booked. The server was ok but had no personality and made no mention of it being my birthday. The appetizer took forever to come out. We ordered the mussels, they were small fishy and some would not even open. The real kicker for me is that they turned away my son, on my birthday, when they clearly could have let us sit on the couch for a single cocktail as he had plans but wanted to stop in for my birthday. The experience literally ruined my night and I would never waste my money on this establishment ever again. Prices are rediculous for what you get! read more

We visited to celebrate my and a friend's birthday. Reservations were easily made and kept. The atmosphere is so unique, but very warm and inviting. The complimentary champagne wasn't bad either. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining options, ingredients, etc. All items ordered were amazing-mussels, charcuterie board, steak frites, ceviche and bone marrow tacos. We were in Tulsa visiting a friend, and decided to stop by here after seeing the restaurant had high ratings online. We walked in and were immediately met by an extremely rude, pretentious host who tried to lie to our faces and tell us that they did not have any tables available when over half of the restaurant was empty and there were 6-7 availabilities listed online through their reservation partner OpenTable. We brought this up to the manager on duty, who immediately tried to make excuses that their "reservations change by the minute" and that it's possible the host didn't see those tables available when we walked in, and clearly had a demeanor about him that he didn't want to deal with us at all. When we opened the OpenTable app and showed the listed openings to his face, he told us to select a reservation and he would "try" to find us a table. We were seated less than 5 minutes later, and brought the menus and drinks. The entire time we were there, the wait staff who helped us constantly raved about how their head chef trained in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and that's why the food was so "great" and "authentic." The food was not great at all, and not even close to authentic. I'm not sure who is running this place, and if they are even remotely involved in day-to-day operations, but it is clear there's a disconnect between staff and customers, and honestly shocking how they almost tried to push us away from eating (and spending money) there. Definitely skip this place, and try one of the other restaurants in the downtown Tulsa area instead. You will thank me later. read more

This is a 3.5 star review, but I can only leave a 3...and what I've experienced here doesn't merit rounding up to a 4. I've been here twice now. The service here is really good. The food is decent, but not overwhelmingly great. For example, I've had Japanese Waygu at a few steakhouses. It just melts in your mouth. I ordered the Waygu off the "high roller" menu here, and, well, it was good but not great. For over $100, I'd expect great. And finally, the wine selection is where things really fall apart. There are like 5 wines available. One of them is an ~$11/glass Bordeaux. If I'm ordering a $100+ steak, you gotta do better than that. Seriously. You gotta have a nice Bordeaux or Napa cab or Australian Shiraz available. And the German Pinot is very underwhelming. Give me an Oregon Pinot or a New Zealand Pinot or lean into that Michelin star background and make it a nice Burgundy. read more

Wonderful food that was marred by terrible service. I came to the restaurant for a birthday celebration and was looking forward to the meal after the reservation was made. The greatest part was the attention to the food. High quality ingredients prepared skillfully. The cocktails were designed to pair wonderfully with the seasonal tastes of the menu. It was obvious that a great deal attention was paid to the product sent out from the back and the kitchen and bar staff are obviously talented. Unfortunately it was also evident that no attention was paid to the experience of customers from the front of house staff. From the moment we entered and no one offered to take our heavy coats, to the slow time to get drinks from the bar (first round took 15 minutes. Second round took 20. Waiter didn't even ask if we wanted a third round in the second hour we were there.) to the lack of attention or knowledge from the staff when I informed him I have a seafood allergy and 3 minutes later he was trying to recommend the bouillabaisse. We did not get an entire course that we had ordered and when they tried to correct it only brought one person a salad when several of us had ordered them. The hostess was absent from her station most of the evening and the men's room was out of order. Fairly sure this restaurant would benefit from a Maitre d' to manage and run the front of house. No one came to check on us other than the one server. Great food and terrible service is a bad combination for fine dining. Especially at this price point. Also why bother asking if it's a special occasion when we are booking the reservation if you are not going to be acknowledging it in any way? read more

Went her for my birthday. The menu was a little clunky to thumb through with a lot of the menu items in French but our waiter was excellent to explain. Moscow Mules were great. For appetizers we did the Mussels and the Charcuterie board and both were out of this world. The Bourguignon pork was delish! Very tender. My mom had the Steak Frites and steak was great and aoili was sublime, fries could of had more seasoning. My bestie had the special of the day which was some sort of pork belly tacos...it was different : / We all shared the Dessert Menagerie and it was a little out there with a flan, some kind of heat spicy ice cream and bread pudding. Just didn't seem to mesh. The vibe was awesome and loved the speakeasy atmosphere. Very laid back and not stuffy in the least. The prices on the regular menu (pic attached) were reasonable they also had a high roller menu that ranged from $89-$199 and most were steak/seafood on that menu. Def will be back! read more

This place has an unexpected cool factor for Tulsa. We walked here from our hotel and it was difficult to find. It is literally in the alleyway behind another restaurant. The double metal doors are painted cool, so that's the landmark to watch for. Opening the doors, you'll find another door on your right. The smell of good foods cooking is your first clue that you're in the right place. Everything from this point on is impressive. You feel like you're going back in time to the speakeasy's of the 30's. You're greeted at the bottom of the stairs with a glass of bubbly. Nice touch! We had reservations, so we sat on the tufted sofa to wait for a friend who was meeting us. It was enjoyable to take in the vibe of this super cool place. Trent was our friendly waiter. He did a great job and gave us recommendations. The drinks were delicious and beautiful. The food was honestly a bit disappointing. It just did not live up to the hype of the atmosphere. The escargot, however, was exceptional. We also had the steak and frites. Steak was good, frites need some improvement. The bouillabaisse was pretty, but lacking flavor. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting downtown Tulsa. There isn't a cooler place! This establishment is a beautiful and well hidden speakeasy tucked away in downtown Tulsa with limited hours of operation, but is definitely worth a visit. Reservations are usually recommended as seating can fill up fast. We came for dinner and drinks during the early evening before a show at the nearby performing arts center. Having made a reservation in advance, we were seated right away on the 2nd floor by the stairs. We had a really nice view of the bar downstairs as well as the downstairs seating. The decorations inside were beautifully done, and we even got the chance to see their secret private dining room behind a bookcase shelf. There was some nice music being played in the background, and service was quick, friendly, and efficient throughout our stay. We got complimentary champagne on the house, which was a nice gesture on their part! We then got complimentary appetizers from the kitchen, which was a small piece of watermelon garnished with jam and spices to create a mixed sweet, savory, and spicy flavor. We also ordered some drinks, including a rather strong martini with 2 bleu cheese olives and a pretty sweet tasting rum based cocktail. We ended up getting their escargot and their mussels, both of which came out fresh and hot, straight from the kitchen. The best part was actually the bread that came with each dish as they grilled it and retained some meat flavor to it. It worked out really well that we could use small pieces of the bread to dip into the soup from the mussels dish and into the sauce from the escargot dish. We got complimentary chocolate truffles for dessert, which did put a nice finishing touch to our experience here. Would definitely come back again! read more

We left after 5 minutes. the lady was very rude at the reception and because she saw we had a stroller she gave us a table in a private room with one table in it! literally a tiny room with one table! she said it's either that or nothing and she will not change it because of the baby. It was a disgrace to be treated like that. I called them earlier and asked if it was a kids friendly and she said it was. We go to restaurants all the time with our baby and never were treated like that. No one minded having the stroller and would seat us in their best spots. It is a very unique set up with being in the basement of the building. Very cool atmosphere and set up made it even better. They have a rotating menu so you're never sure what they're serving until you get there. The drinks were on point. Had their version of an Old Fashion and it tasted amazing. Didn't want to stray from greatness so stuck with that or dinner. The limited menu made me a little nervous as i was unsure of some of the food they had. But..... OMG, it was all the best. Started with crab cakes that we ate within minutes and were prepared perfectly. Then followed up with etouffee and their version of shrimp & grits with huge Hawaiian shrimp. The chef is New Orleans based and this is his specialty. The spices were perfect, the portions were amazing and i could not have asked for a better dinner. We had no reservation and they happily sat us at the bar which was a great spot to watch all the amazing food and drinks being prepared. I cannot rave enough about every aspect of our evening. The team there is so kind, and you can see from how they interact that they are like family. The drinks are hand crafted and so well thought out. I loved the Toronto. We ordered the arugula salad and I will be dreaming of that salad for weeks to come. It is so fresh and the mascarpone basil cream is so unique. We also shared the surf and turf and it was cooked perfectly. The lobster tail was enormous but tender and sweet. The filet was cooked perfectly with a light crisp to the outside and micro greens complimented it well. The carrots, Brussels and scallop potatoes were also delish. Had the red wine blend and it paired perfect. Was too full to order dessert but they gave us delicious salted caramel chocolates that were the perfect finish. We enjoyed a charcuterie board to start with and loved everything on it. We both ordered the surf and turf for our meals but there were several things we had to decide between. We almost got 2 different things to share and try more but I was afraid my husband wouldn't share enough of his lobster tail with me and I really wanted that! Haha! It was a great decision! 2nd time here (I am not a local) and this is one of my favorite restaurants without a doubt and I travel all over the country. I had the Bouillabaise and it was really good. My business partner had the ribeye and it was out of this world as he let me have some of his. We sat at the bar so we were able to make idle chit chat with alot of the folks working the kitchen. Such wonderful staff/service. This is one of those places where you are going to spend some cash but leave thinking to yourself that it was worth every penny.
