On Friday, May 5th, we went to The Botanic LLC restaurant in Opelika. Nicest restaurant I have ever been to in AL. What I liked the most was that they printed my daughter's name on the menu!!! The service and experience were top-notch, although, I had food poisoning from the pasta dish with salmon ($48 after tax and tips--yes this is for ONE plate). I made several trips to the bathroom throughout the night and only managed to sleep well after 4 am. Exhausting, to say the least. It was deplorable and totally unexpected to get sick from an establishment with such high standards (and prices). I would have gladly preferred remembering a positive experience than the memory of a night of food poisoning. So 2 stars from me. read more

Sunday Brunch was Amazing! Started with the "REMEDY" a top gourmet Bloody Mary. Was absolutely delicious and visually exciting. I won't spoil it for you by describing it just order it. Next we ordered coffee and beignets to our surprise came a real treat. A hand made ceramic oval dish filled with mini sugared beignets accompanied with a small chocolate cup for dipping. WOW sweet and yummy. Hubby ordered banana's foster banana bread French toast which was a flavor explosion he loved! I got our server's favorite the "Botanic Benny" did not disappoint. The chef knows what and how to make this egg oozing over sautéed fresh mushrooms and spinach. A true culinary delight! Amen our dining was like a prayer. Quiet fulfilling. The atmosphere was like we were in Europe at a Villa overlooking a lake. Bakery, gift shoppes, greenhouse and more to see at this fantastic place of respite. Christmas trees to choose also. The atmosphere was amazing however the food was just average. we had chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes , salmon and grouper. The potatoes were not good at all but the green beans were very good. The fish was good. We waited so long for our food that we got free dessert. I had strawberry short cake with homemade pound cake and it was a big disappointment. read more

Botanic is far and away the best dining-shopping-celebrating venue that has happened in East Alabama---perhaps forever! We made reservations for our anniversary and enjoyed Botanic immensely. Drinks at the bourbon bar were nice, and we were overjoyed to see King, visit with our old friend, and meet his beautiful wife Stacy. Such an incredible venue. Responsive staff who is there to ensure your dining experience is memorable and impeccable. You cannot find a nicer restaurant to celebrate any event. The menu is diverse and will accommodate anyone's cravings! There is live entertainment almost every night. Beautiful grounds to walk and enjoy. With a most delightful gift shop and an awesome nursery. I cannot dine here without bringing home a tray of gorgeous plants for my own garden. This is a remarkable place. I loved everything about it. The service was impeccable! The food, though expensive, was very tasty! The pork belly burnt ends appetizer was just outstanding. Confusing little wonderful restaurant with the most amazing views and plants. It is fun to get lost in the grounds and just try to figure out where you are going. Hard to believe this place is so nice. The details in the park? Restaurant? Market? Its amazing. We only eat at the market and I will say, it's good. A tad bit inconsistent meaning one day you will eat something and think it's amazing and the next time you get it. It might be a tad off the mark....not a huge problem but just be aware as it might encourage you to try something different. read more

From the hostess to the garden staff absolutely fantastic. There were three of us in our party and each one of us had something different. The salmon was my husband's choice it was very good. My mother in law had the French dip which was very flavorful. I had the adult grilled cheese and a cup of the soup of the day another great choice. We can't wait until it's warmer to sit outside. Botanic is such a wonderful addition to the area. I went in to check out the garden shop and grab a pastry. I ended up ordering a gift basket for a wedding/honeymoon gift, enjoying a pastry and coffee on the patio, and enjoying the scenery. Madeline was so friendly and accommodating with the last minute gift basket request. Actually, everyone we encountered was really friendly. I can't wait to go back for dinner. read more

We hosted a brunch for 30+ people in the Orchid dining room and we couldn't have asked for a better event! We took group photos in the indoor garden which was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and our brunch buffet was a great selection of hot breakfast favorites and pastries with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. A most pleasant and unusual array of nature coming together with a unique dining experience. Abundance of flowers, exotic tropicals, shrubs in their expansive nursery and indoor atrium; amazing chickens roaming about, ducks and geese swimming on the lake adjoining the restaurant. And the different venues to enjoy a snack and drink outdoors to the dining in the beautiful grill inside and the bakery with all its delights...it's like being in a little village all it's own. The three of us ate in the grill inside with a view of the lake. The staff is everything you would want from a five star restaurant. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. The ambiance is great. The bread that was served was unique in a stoneware vase and served with different butter spreads. My wife had the red snapper, and it was delicious. I had the filet with a delicious array of vegetables. Our daughter ordered the blackened salmon. Only disappointment. It was not blackened, just pan seared and over bland white rice. Not inspiring but presented well. Now, We were celebrating our 40th anniversary, and the management presented especially for us the most delicious chocolate cake. What a wonderful way to end a delightful experience at the Botanic restaurant . Definitely on our list for fine dining in a most unique setting. read more

Ambiance and decor are fabulous, but the food is mediocre at best and the service is poor. Not going back. There are too many good restaurants in the Auburn/Opelika area to waste time and money at this place. read more

The owners are fantastic down to earth people. The service is 2nd to none, the food is that of a 5 * restaurant they you don't have to wear a suit and tie to, and the ambiance give you that romantic feel no matter where you sit.
