1-Star Review: Utterly Disrespectful Experience - Especially Hurtful on a Special Occasion We will never return to this place, and I feel compelled to warn others after what happened during what should have been a joyful celebration. It was a party of three: my wife, my 86-year-old father, and me. We were there specifically to celebrate my dad's birthday--an occasion that deserved warmth, attention, and basic courtesy. Instead, we received indifference followed by outright rudeness from the manager herself. We walked in and immediately asked if we could sit in the bar area. The woman we spoke to said yes, so we seated ourselves at one of the bar tables. At no point did she--or anyone else--mention that the bar tables were supposedly "closed." There was no sign, no verbal heads-up, nothing. We sat there completely ignored while identical bar tables around us had other customers who had been served food anf drinks as if it were business as usual. After sitting unnoticed for a noticeable stretch of time and realizing we were being deliberately overlooked, we simply got up and left. On our way out, I turned and asked to speak to the manager. The very same woman who had told us we could sit in the bar area stepped forward and identified herself as the manager--a short lady in her late 50s to early 60s. Rather than offering any explanation or apology for the clear miscommunication, she immediately became defensive and argumentative. She snapped that "the bar tables are closed" and spoke to me in a rude, dismissive tone, as though we had somehow tricked her or were at fault for trusting her own permission. When I calmly pointed out that she never told us the tables were closed when we specifically asked to sit there--and that other people were being served at the exact same kind of tables--she doubled down. She argued, raised her voice slightly, rolled her eyes, and acted like our legitimate confusion was an attack on her personally. Zero accountability. Zero attempt to make it right. No "I'm sorry for the mix-up," no offer to seat us elsewhere, nothing. We walked out without ordering a single thing, my elderly father in tow, on what was supposed to be his birthday celebration. The entire experience felt insulting--especially given his age and the reason we were there. To be ignored after being explicitly allowed to sit, then berated by the manager when we tried to understand why, left all three of us stunned and deeply disappointed. This wasn't just poor service; it was a shocking lack of basic professionalism and human decency from the person in charge. If a restaurant can't communicate simple rules, treat guests with respect, or handle a polite inquiry without turning combative--especially when an 86-year-old is involved--then it doesn't deserve customers. Zero stars if possible. Avoid this place entirely, particularly if you're celebrating anything meaningful or bringing older family members who deserve better. We certainly won't be back. read more

Didn't get to eat. Had plenty of empty tables but short on staff and courteous staff. We waited over 10 minutes for the hostess to finish yapping and come back to the front. She then said, "How many, name?" No, welcome, so we are short of staff. We decided to go to Olive Garden where we were greeted, seated and we felt like they wanted our business. This location was very messy, dirty, unorganized, and out of date. On top of that, the food was lousy. Our waitress was good but not the best. I ordered the spinach dip and the pita chips were very soggy and loaded with grease and the broccoli was brown, however the steak was decent. This location needs a serious remodel, with new dining furniture and carpets. Also, after being told a 30 mins wait, we waited 45 mins and if I hadn't of went inside to check on the status, they would have given our table away. Wouldn't recommend this location. read more

I've come to longhorns the past 2 days and the customer service was amazing. The staff does an amazing jobs at meeting needs of their customers. The food was amazing per usual. Went this past July 4 at 5 pm. Waitress said she would take our drink and appetizer order while our assigned waiter got checked in. 15 minutes later the new waiter came and said our orders weren't put in. Ordered again. Took around 25-30 minutes total just to get our drinks. Salad was basically just lettuce drowned in dressing. I ordered a steak medium well, it was bleeding. I couldn't eat it. Hubby ordered his medium, it was medium well/well. My asparagus was so undercooked I couldn't eat that either. Waitress never came back to check on our meals or we would have sent them back. When she brought the check I pointed out our mostly uneaten meals and explained why, and that it could have been fixed if she had checked on us. This is my second trip here in the past two months. We had good service but the food is not worth the trip. Both times the potatoes were so cool there was no steam and the butter would not melt. The second time my steak was over cooked. We came about 3:45pm and it was not busy but it took a long time to get the food. The manager and waitress were very accommodating and I do appreciate that. After reviewing previous posts, I wonder if they have new staff in the kitchen. I certainly hope this is the reason. I will not likely return for at least a year. read more

It was my husband's birthday today. He was asked by the server if he would like his free appetizer or a free dessert my husband chose the free appetizer, which was the shrimp with pepperoncini's. I was very surprised when the server came back with a martini glass of a dollop of vanilla ice cream so in a sense he got the appetizer and the dessert for free thank you for making his day special and including both of these for him to enjoy! It was a very nice ambience since we were put in a quiet corner away from everyone else, but still near the bathrooms. read more

We had a great late lunch here recently when we were in town. I had a lunch combo - the 7 pepper steak salad with blue cheese which was delicious and the stuffed baked potato. The warm honey wheat bread and butter were delicious. It's hard to beat freshly baked bread. The waitress was super sweet and it turned out one of my family members knew her mother. I walked in to order from the menu to go and the lady sent me around the corner to order. There was a computer there with no menu and no person. I thought I was supposed to somehow use the computer to put in my order but I couldn't figure it out. After struggling to bring up the menu online, I walked around and found a menu so I knew what to order by the time my order was to be taken or somebody would direct me on how to use a computer. After waiting quite a while I went back to the guest services and said I don't think you understand I need to place an order to go thinking maybe she just thought I was picking up my order to go because there was bags sitting there of peoples food. She said somebody would help me. We wanted to large fries to go. Well that's not very easy. I first tried to order two side orders of season fries to go and she said they would be very small portions and that they were supposed to come with a meal. We flipped over the menu and she told me that if I order a hamburger, then I would get two great big large orders of fries to go with it. So I ordered the hamburger and fries and went to the restroom because she had made a mistake and needed management to override it. When I came back from the restroom I read the computer screen and it said only one french fry. I asked her about it and she said oh I forgot to put in the other order of fries. She told me she was going to the back to order another order of large fries to go. Well, that did not work out well. We got one large order of fries and about One child handful of fries on the other. Well that's just ridiculous. Meanwhile my husband is waiting way longer than we thought. He was listening to the comments of the people waiting and leaving the restaurant because they weren't being served or seated. Customers were making snide comments. I asked for extra salt to go, instead of those little tiny packets, she had a plastic cup that took her five minutes to go in the back and look for find an open up and pour into a small cup that you would find salad dressing in. I asked for the hamburger to please be cut in half so my husband and I could share, they forgot to do that. It's just a little details that can matter. It was just a frustrating situation that took wasaay too long when it shouldn't have. I appreciate help and assistance in guidance from the waitress staff but I expect accurate information and an accurate order. I have previously really enjoyed longhorns but last week I went to this location and the customer service was awful! I walked in and asked for a table instead of a booth because of a previous injury, the hostess was very kind, even showing me where I was to be sat to make sure it would be okay. So after waiting, when my name was called I was surprised to be sat a booth. I asked the host why I was being sat at the booth and was directed toward the manager Ethan, a very short, brown haired man. He told me he had given the table to a bigger party. He bluntly said, "You can either sit in a booth or wait." I ended up just sitting in the booth, I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time because of my hip replacement and the manager said nothing to our party after that. He offered no apology nor condolences. I cannot believe that such an incompetent manager works at this restaurant and he should be held accountable for this treatment. We came here on a trip back home. After being to many Longhorns across some ayes, I can say one great thing about it- consistency! Always a great steak and delicious! I'm a creature of habit after finding what suits me, so I went with the flo's filet. Always cooked to my liking and tenderness. Staff were courteous and on point with our service. I've never been to Longhorn before today but my husband had eaten there while traveling so he suggested it. I was very impressed. We arrived at 5pm on Friday and there was already a wait list. Fortunately, there was an empty table in the bar area so we took it. Our server was wonderful and quick so I award 5 stars for service and management. But, I must say the food earned 5 stars, also. I got the steak sandwich and my husband got the sirloin. Both were excellent and he said the baked potato was particularly good. Overall, our experience was very good! She was kind and welcoming and balanced attention with leaving us to enjoy our food and conversation. When taking our order, she defined our choice of cooking - "medium - you want a warm pink center, right?" That practice, while simple, likely helps avoid at least some of the "this isn't what I ordered." She also got our food out super fast! Drinks were served in chilled glasses (a favorite of hubs) and salads were served in chilled bowls. Our steaks were served promptly, and cooked to perfection. They were flavorful and the marinade (rub) added depth. For the basics, this was perfect. We got exactly what we expected. This is a relatively small restaurant, and there was a wait on a summer weekday early evening. Call ahead for seating. If you're looking for standard steakhouse, you'll be happy here.
