I've been going to Boteco for years. I drive all the way to Tampa and just about every time I try to visit Boteco. I used to say they made the best caipirinhas and the food was amazing. I don't know what happened in the last year. The place just went downhill. I visited last weekend and OMG, that was probably the last time. My server never even paid attention to us, his girlfriend or wife or whoever she was, was sitting at the table in the middle of the restaurant and this man just kept going there and kissing her.like, you're working have some respect for people that are there paying for a service. - I ordered my drink (caipirinha) and a water. He never brought me a water. I asked a second time in the middle of dinner and he still never brought it. - I ordered my steak strips done medium, and my dates steak well done. It came wrong, mine was well done and his was medium. - when he brought us the food, there wasn't even silverware on the table. He left the food there and we had to ask for silverware....by the time he brought us the silverware our food was cold. - I asked for lime, never brought it. I had to ask a second time. - while all of that was happening he was still just watching some soccer game on tv and making out with this girl. Super unprofessional. - even the caipirinhas weren't good like they normally are. Maybe they don't use velho barreiro anymore, I don't know, but mine came with a piece of mint of top of it and if you know anything about caipirinhas....thats a no. - worst service I've ever had there, and one of the worst I've had in any restaurant - to top if off. I got an appetizer as a meal ($30), $30 for an appetizer? My date got a meal with steak. Rice beans, $45 if I'm not wrong. 2 beers and 2 caipirinhas for a total of $150. $150 for bar like food, with all of it cooked wrong, awful service. I went outlet shopping in Orlando and was looking to eat dinner outside of the food court food offered at the outlet. I Yelped a place and Boteco came up so I decided to walk over. (Boteco is walking distance from the International Outlet). It was Friday night and the restaurant was super empty, which I thought was weird. But, I was hungry and tired so I decided to go in. I got seated right away and our waitress came over to ask about our drink order promptly. The menu was huge, so I decided to ask the waitress for recommendation. I decided to try the following: 1. Cheese Bread: These were so delicious! It was crispy and flaky with the right amount of cheese in the bread. Definitely a must-try item. 2. Brazilian Fried Chicken: This dish was also very delicious. The fried chicken was fried just right. The chicken was also very tender in the inside. It was also not too greasy, which was a plus. Also, the had fried garlic on the dish, which I thought was unique and pretty tasty. 3. Top sirloin and fries: This was a little disappointing to me. The sirloin tasted a little overcooked and chewy. The fries that came with the dish was very good. Overall, I would come back to this place again. I also want to give props to our waitress, who was super nice and helpful. She gave us great service. We had been looking forward to returning as the food had been fantastic. we ordered drinks and they came out fine. we then ordered starters - well considering it was only 7.45pm they had sold out if brazillian bread (from a brazillian restaurant). So although disappointing ordered something else. 45 minutes later starters came out and we're barely warm and not once did the waiter offer us any additional drinks or ask for our main order. we decided to ask for the cheque as this was not going well - brought the cheque and they added 20% on top discretely positioned on the back page of the menu. When I complained the waiter couldn't care less And neither could the manager who was standing 5 meters away. My recommendation avoid!!! read more

We have eaten here in years past when visiting Orlando for a weekend trip. This was our second meal out during COVID-19 for authentic Brazilian porcoes and lunch. Went here thinking it would be good, especially for the happy hour. Had decent reviews. However, when we asked about the happy hour, server lied about the time the happy hour was at. Food we got was over salted, like with large chunks of salt crystals, and overcooked. When we finally get the check, the server added a 20% gratuity for himself without notice or telling us. We LOVED our food! We all ordered either steak (Picanho Grelhada) or the salmon (Salmao Grelhado). My son also ordered the Boteco a Cavalo (Steak and Eggs) and chowed it down. So far they need work on their customer service. I think they prefer to speak their own language and not deal with American as the waitress and bar tender are very rude. I have to say the have made up for their first impression. They became more friendly as o ordered food and drink. I suggest the place for it deals special and good food. Plus the.seating outside allows for smoke a very nice cigar during the evening as the breeze comes through and the drinks start to take their common affect. So I do recommend the place. This place should have been packed! A (thin) NY strip steak with 1 side was only $9.95 and the perfect amount of crisp minced garlic and a few sauteed onions. I added a skewer of grilled shrimp for $5 and washed it all down with 2 Stella draft. $20 for a tasty meal and super service is a big deal off International Drive, there is a lot of competition. Simple and nice place. Fresh food. A Brazilian restaurant, after a long time my friend took me there. We ordered 2 sandwiches and passion fruit juice. The sandwich was delicious and my friend's as well loved hers, the fries that came with it were really good, had long time that I ate some good fries like today. And to end the meal we ordered some brigadeiro, a Brazilian desert made with condensed milk and chocolate, the presentation of if was beautiful, but to tell you the truth and the taste of wasn't the best, it tasted more like a chocolate mousse than a brigadeiro, not bad, but... our server, Andrey, was really nice and helpful. This restaurant is a great place to get authentic Brazilian food in Orlando. The cheese bread is delicious, as well as all the other appetizers. Last time I visited Boteco, I ordered the Stroganoff and the Breaded Chicken to share. They were super delicious and authentic. However, I think the food here is really overpriced. Even though it is of high quality I do not think it's worth spending so much on the simple Brazilian staples they offer. The restaurant is spacious and the staff is extremely welcoming but I found the music they were playing extremely annoying (alternating between country and rap). The music even had commercials, which I find ridiculous. read more

If you're looking for a flavourful steak, Boteco is the place to go. We had lunch here recently and chose to sit outside. They have tables on the sidewalk, which is covered, so we weren't in the sun. The service was friendly and, for the most part, efficient. We tried the yucca fries, which were really really good, the top sirloin main, which came with fries and beans and rice, and a steak sandwich. Of the two, the sandwich was definitely the winner, while the steak was a close second (it was a little small, which was the one thing going against it). The sandwich came with top sirloin too, which was perfectly cooked and so flavourful! It also has chimichurri in it, which made it even better. Overall I think we'll even definitely be back here to try more if the food and to have that sandwich again! read more

Fellow Yelpers, The literal translation for the word Boteco in English is pub, bar, stall, dive, or even more crudely; hole in the wall. This name alone is a fascinating pick for this establishment. In Brazil, eating at the aforementioned places is common among the populace, for only at these 'botecos' can one truly get a quick bite to eat, known as 'petiscos' or appetizers, that range from a wide variety and selection of the most delicious staples of the Brazilian cuisine. Therefore, it's very refreshing to know that someone decided to bundle that entire cultural grub package and ship it all the way to Orlando. The main difference being that the establishment itself is a clean, modernly decorated, trendy restaurant instead of precisely what its name implies, a hole in the wall. It has become an instant hit with the local Brazilian community, specifically its younger crowd. The place has enough outdoor seating to make it a great hang out spot for a few choice drinks and beer straight from Brazil. The staff is all Brazilian, but they also speak fluent English. The place is nicely set up where you do not get a feeling of being crowded and sitting on top of others. The restaurant offers a great variety of not only "petiscos" that are popular in Brazil, but also lunch and dinner entrées. The service was fantastic, our server was a sweetheart. We had a big party with us, and there was plenty of food to go around as the portions were very generous. The presentation was nice and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of the food being served. We started off with some 'bolinhos de bacalhau' (see my photo), 'frango a passarinho' (see my phtoto), and 'aipim frito' (see my photo). All three 'petiscos' were delicious. The cod fish cakes were soft and chewy with a semi crunchy breaded shell; the small chicken wings were just at the right mix of dry and moist with a rich taste, and the fried yucca was, well, crunchy and very tasty. For my main entrée I ordered the 'bife a cavalo' (see my photo) which can be translated literally to 'Steak by the horse' or something along these lines. Not to be confused with horse meat, this essentially is a dish where eggs are draped above a skirt steak with caramelized onions much like a saddle straddles a horse. This is the best verbal / written description I could formulate to properly describe this delicious dish. The steak and eggs were complemented by the stereotypical brazilian rice and beans with steak fries and 'farofa', a type of flour served with some dishes in Brazil. The restaurant also has a nice bar area (see my photo) that looks like a hybrid of Ocean Prime, Luma, and any neon back lit bar downtown. The exception being that it is extremely low key in comparison. Therefore, if you just want to come here to hang out and have a couple of drinks, it can be just that place for you. At times there will be a local brazilian artist performing popular classic songs from the motherland, which can be nice and relaxing. Overall, the rating says it all: Go try this place out! My date and I walked in here for lunch, not expecting much but we saw the sign that said "$9.95 steak lunch"... OKAYYYYYY!!! :) we can't turn that down. We walked in and our first impression was dang this place was pretty nice. It was in a very casual looking plaza with a bunch of outlet gift stores and so we did expect it to be kind of janky, but it was not at all. Our waiter didn't speak English super fluently but that didn't stop his service from being awesome :). My date and I both got their steak special, I had salad for the side and he had rice and beans. The steak came out and the size was decent for $10 and let me tell you..... after cutting into my steak and consuming the first bite, I had to take a moment breathe and to think about if I wanted to order 2 more of this fabulous and amazing steak because it tasted like heaven. For $10, it was one of the best flavored and seasoned and cooked steak I had ever had and I am so glad we stopped by here. I recommend the steak to everyone! read more

I ordered the chicken Parmesan but got beef Parmesan. It was close to closing at 10:15pm so I didn't send it back. It was pretty good. 3.5-4.0 stars so not that big a deal. The bar is large, it takes up the whole wall. Service was fast and friendly. Music was excellent to terrible depending on your taste. Sting, cranberries, some 80's. Desserts look amazing but I was to full to try any. I'd come back if I was in the area. It's a Brazilian restaurant. I'll try the specific Brazilian dishes next time. read more

David pretty much said it all... the only thing I have to add which is the reason I am not giving them 5 starts is: they include the TIP on the check, which I didn't notice the first time. So when we went there the second time I finally understood why the total wasn't adding up... I was very upset and left a bad taste on my mouth. The service is great, the food is delicious but I didn't like them adding 15% tip on my check. It was a table of only 2 people, most places add the tip when is a party of 6 or more people... It's going to be a while until I go back there... VERY disappointing................ Well, I haven't been there in a while and I am very disappointed. oct 2015 and the service was slow, they only had 2 waiters, the Beef was hard and the Breaded Chicken was too hard, like they fried in the morning and left on that light the whole morning... The amount of rice is a joke. Rice is so cheap and you are now giving me 1/2 cup? Same thing with beans and the farofa was one table spoon. Yelp is not letting me change to 2 stars because that's what I would give them. They finally removed the tip on the check but the food is probably the cheapest quality. I would rather go to the buffet right next to eat and eat cheap food with cheap prices then to pay 16 for a steak that tastes like rubber. read more

I had a filet mignon and my date had a strip steak. Both perfectly seasoned, tender, and awesome. The waitress indicated they had been open about a year. The decor was modern, but there did not seem to be any dress code. A lot of locals hanging around, seems like a neighborhood place, a nice surprise on International. Came across this place while driving on Idrive. It was a nice day outside and they had outside seating so we decided to give it a go. The place offers traditional brazilian Dishes, so if you're looking for some honest kinda of brazilian home cooking this place is good for that. All the food was pretty tasty and fresh. I recommend the Pateles and brazilian sausage and maybe the yuca Gratin. Also the chicken strogonoff was pretty tasty. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time some the food came fairly quick. The service was good and prices are so so, but they do have specials. read more

What a an amazing experience!!! Let's start with the owner: José Márcio was amazing from the minute I contacted him to plan my birthday celebration, great mood, polite, respectful and easy to work with. He was able to accommodate almost 40 guests for my last minute party plan. He allowed me to bring my own birthday cake without charging any "outside dessert fees". It was a busy night for the venue, due to a live entertainment already scheduled for that same night. I walked in and all my tables were set up, extremely neat and clean. I was greeted by the friendly staff and by the owner himself. All great spirited with a beautiful smile on their faces. The drinks were amazing! I recommend the authentic traditional Brazilian Caipirinha with lime. This drink is also available with different fresh fruits. All the dishes came out super fast, delicious and at a great price.
