Took my daughter there for lunch on Sunday and they had so many different items on the menu that I've never heard of before, so I tried the french fries with gravy and cheese and it must've been a half a pound of cheese on. It was absolutely enough for three people to eat and my daughter got a chicken wrap that actually had five chicken tenders all way around it. Of course she could only eat half the food was fabulous. The amount of food was incredible, definitely enough for lunch and dinner and the wait staff and the cook were super nice even the cook/owner came over the table and asked if we didn't have enough she'd give us more for free which never happened to me before I was thoroughly impressed so we all took enough home to warm up for dinner as well and then they also got Mexican Coke, which blows the taste of American Coke away. We come here at least once every two weeks, and bring anyone visiting us here. They have something for everyone, from meat eaters to vegans. First time. Came here due to a MeetUp post on a group I am in. It said "15% off the bill over $25" however that didn't apply to beer, so that wasn't a great start. However I was here for the game and seemed like a lot of people had come to watch so it created a good atmosphere. Hala Madrid! I ordered the birdsong sunshine lemon gose based on a sample but then the keg kicked and they didn't have more so the bartender let me have the half on the house!! That was dope and I got over the discount real quick. I also tried the river rat apricot gose and that was also very good. I like those type of beers. This place got packed! For the price paid I would give 3.5 stars to BottleDog Bites & Brews. I thought that they had a decent selection of beers; however, I felt that the drafts were a wee bit overpriced. For food we split the fried fromage, quebecois poutine and sweet BBQ wings. The poutine was tasty, I enjoyed the pairing of the montreal smoked meat and pickles. I wish I was not such a pansy when it comes to heat so I could try the hot nashville wings, the sweet BBQ was just okay. Before I left I grabbed a bomber to go. We visited BottleDog for their Tuesday night trivia (7 pm). The trivia was trivia bingo and was really fun! The answers are on the bingo board (although not every board has all the answers) and you not only have to know the answer to the trivia question but also have to get bingo to win. We had a great time playing trivia and the guys who run it are enthusiastic, fun, and friendly. We ended up winning two rounds and received a $5 gift card for one and a $15 gift card for the other (since it was the final round and you needed two bingos to win). When we arrived, we were a little confused on how to order but soon learned that you order drinks and food from the bartender. The bartender and all the other employees are very welcoming and nice. The bartender allowed us to try some of the beers before deciding on the ones we wanted which was great. We also ordered le castor, Bavarian pretzel, franks in a blanket, québécois, Montreal smoked meat, and a salad. The poutine was delicious however it had way too much cheese for our taste. I ordered the québécois without cheese and it was amazing. The meat was so tender and the gravy had a ton of flavor. The pretzel was cooked perfectly and the other items ordered were good. A good thing about beer here is that they come at FOUR different sizes, starting from 5 oz. So if you cannot drink a lot or want to try more variety, this is the place to go! Now, let's talk about food, which is the main reason we came here! We learned from other reviews that EVERYTHING on the menu is good! So we came with really high expectation and it definitely holds the reputation! We struggle about what yo order, as we want all of them! We ended up with a traditional hot dog, a Italian flatbread, and Nashville hot chicken (traditional wings)! Seriously, everything was good! The chicken wings were super crispy and of the right spice! Arrived at 7:30. Waitresses seemed disorganized, but friendly. Atmosphere was alright. It was relatively empty. The appetizer came wrong. They remade it. Chips were very good. No one around to refill a soda. Food finally came 50 minutes in-- partially wrong. We didn't mention it because we finally got some food to eat. No flavor on the chicken or the mac, but it's real fried chicken, so that's a plus. BBQ sauce tasted like Kraft from your local grocer. Managed to eat a little by drowning everything in ranch and left the rest. Not worth the calories or the money. I really wanted to get out and have some good food this evening. Sadly, this wasn't it. Place has an incredible beer selection and a really cool open clean space. They offer alot of great stuff on tap in multiple pour sizes which is cool since it gives you a chance to try alot of different ones. We went for wings which are on special on Wednesday nights and they were ok, the only reason I wasn't a huge fan is because they are so heavily fried so be aware when you order them. The fries are great and the poutine was pretty good as well but having been to montreal I would say they have to stack them a bit higher with cheese curds and more gravy to call their poutines completely authentic. read more

Quaint place in the middle of nowhere, with what looked like a lot of regulars. We felt right at home, welcomed by the friendly staff! The ambiance is lovely, low lighting, great music, families and couples sitting around inside and outside. They are dog- friendly. They are also kid- friendly. We got the pretzel bites and we were blown away. So soft and tasty! The mustard that came with it had a little after- kick to it that made it all the more amazing! We both got the Mamacita dog- the hot dog was so crispy I could hear the crunch every time I took a bite. I don't think I can ever eat a non crunchy hot dog again- you've spoilt me for life! The hot dog had a generous serving of chili over it without being too messy- how they managed that delicate balance I guess I'll never know! They have a huge beer list. They also have shelves of beer in house if you would like to purchase some. These are, by no stretch of imagination, your cheap 6$ for 6 beers grocery store beers. Being a beer noob I did not see one single beer I knew- all the more reason to be adventurous! My brother is a beer aficionado so I had him look up the menu online and text me recommendations! My favorite of all his recommendations was definitely the Appalachian Mountain Panic Water. There's a lot of parking! Also the cost per dish is around $7-$10 making it totally affordable for large families! If I lived in the area, I would definitely be one of their regulars! OMG, the poutines. Let's start there. They've got great pub grub to go with all their drinks but the poutines are where it's at. The sauces are salty and the cheese super soft and stretchy. Any of the extras you too it with just bring it to that homey hearty level. It's the sort of delicious grease that makes good hangover food...Without having to wait for the hangover. Of course they have a fantastic collection of bottles to choose from...But there's always a great selection on draught too. The staff is super friendly too and they have great taste in music. We had a nice experience and I'm giving it 4 stars for the very friendly service and dog friendliness. Boyfriend had the southern style hot dog and I had the chicken tenders. His was ALOT. Good but in a gross sort of gluttony way, not like oh these are great ingredients. My portion was also huge, I took 3/4 of the tenders home but they were good quality and did not seem frozen. Only disappointment was that in the menu it seemed like it came with fries or chips under "meatatarian" but didn't. If you are Canadian, you must go! I was shocked they had beaver tails (so yummy) with maple syrup and bacon. The poutine is hands down just like home. This is a great place to go eat, especially if you are jonesing to get some Montréal Quebec style food. The Montréal Smoked Meat style beef is very close to Schwartz's and the Poutine is pretty decent as well. The only negative that I have at this place is it is not very kid-friendly with a children's selection, which is tough if you want to feed the family with young kids. The sandwiches are still pretty impressive and I recommend the place if you're coming out here for a date night or just with adults only. read more

The menu stated "Order at Bar". I thought that was also weird. The bartender had a "bartender like" attitude and that's me being nice. Two of us asked for water with our orders and he gave us room temperature water. We had to ask for ice. Also if you order any type of soda , there's no refills because it's in a bottle. Bartender dude didn't check on us at to see if we needed more lukewarm water or anything! My advice, BottleDog Bites Brews owner, have at least 1 waiter during the day and to customers, check this place out at night because they don't have waiters in the day time. Meh, we expected more from such a highly rated restaurant. We started off with a giant pretzel that was quite good and while the mustard was fine, the beer cheese was flavorless. For the meal, here is the breakdown. 1) Pound of naked wings: These were good, but could've been cooked a little more to crisp them up. 2) Chicago dog: Hot dog itself was very good. Bun was cold, and it was served with onions even though it wasn't mentioned on menu. Fries were soggy. 3) Southern dog: Again cold bun, and was ordered without onions but they were put on anyway. Side salad was better than expected. 4) 3 Cheese Flatbread Pizza: this was basically inedible. Nobody at the table ate more than a half a slice. I'll give them a star for friendly staff and a decent beer selection, although it heavily favored IPAs. Sadly, I doubt we'll be back. read more

We went here for a weekday lunch. Barely anyone around on a Thursday lunch. I ordered a p&p (pizza and poutine). The pizza was ok. Not bad, not great, but that consistent good level that no one ever talks about but always orders another one. Yassssss.... Rarely do I give a "divey" place a 5-star review, especially when I have to do counter service ordering and clean up after myself. But, the food and the super-nice bartender earned it here. Look down the list of reviews and what is the common theme (besides amazing food)? NICE bartenders....is this where we have come as a community when it stands out when counter service is on par? Apparently, yes...with the exception of a few nano-breweries staffed mainly by owners (Brice's, Neuse River, etc.) I realized after visiting Bottle Dog that I expect rude, rushed, or entitled bar service now. Hmmm...I might have to rethink where I am choosing to hang out, especially when places like this exist. The draft list? Pretty darn good...some local stuff, a nice variety so everyone can find something they like, and some weird stuff you may not have tried yet. They stock sixtels on the draft line, so the list is ever-changing and fresh. I drank a terrific tripel from Asheville, a complicated smokey stout, and sampled my husband's IPA which was better than most (not a huge IPA-lover). I also picked up some fun stuff for the Thanksgiving weekend: Prairie's Pe-Kan (which I would have bought no matter what because of that name), and Evil Twin Coconut Stout that is super cheap considering it's 10%+, husband's fave "Tony Gwynn" IPA, and something else. It was hard not to pick up Steel String's "beach pie" Gose strictly for the reference to AB, but I'm not a salty-beer person. The real star here, though, even among all of that great beer? The FOOD. I will admit, I'm not well versed on Canadian cuisine (other than Tim Horton's) and I've resisted trying poutine all of these years. That was dumb. Or maybe smart, considering I don't need to smother my fries in gravy more than once every 10 years or so. I had the poulet chaud, poutine topped with Nashville hot chicken. What in the world? This could be my next lover. It was on the spicy side for my husband, which was awesome because more for me (Belgian beers go great with the spice, BTW). We also got the Montreal smoked-meat sandwich. They do not explain what MTL smoked meat is on the menu, but it's delicious brisket cooked pastrami or corned-beef style, with MTL's special spices. Salty, but you don't eat that way every day so it's all good. Served on rye bread, it was fantastic. I'm pretty sure if I lived in Cary I would visit weekly and work my way through their menu. I'm both glad and sad that I don't. Go for the food, enjoy the beer, and tip the staff well. read more
