Bottles is a spirit store, but not like any other. You can actually buy a bottle of wine AND SIT AT THE BAR AND DRINK IT! How cool is that?! They don't have the best selection or variety of wine, so don't go looking for Napa quality Vino. Dillan is the cashier/bartender who is there when I go, and he's a cool cat. I can't think of anywhere in the area that serves sours other than Berkeley? Walk into the Indian Grocery store, go all the way to the back, then TADA a long bar with 2 very large TV's, 10+ Craft Beers on tap and a restaurant!! On the way home from an event this afternoon, we headed here to try some beer. Great tasting and really fun people who work there. First time I've watched ABC family channel and heckled the movie at any kind of bar setting- awesome! We got some bottles to take home and it's a great selection- many options not seen elsewhere (including Oaktown on tap, which I understand comes from a guy who distributes his own brew.) This place has a lot to offer. They are a convenience/liquor store, local hangout, grocery store, and bar all in one. My boyfriend and I couldn't help glancing at all of the locally brewed beer options in the fridge as we strolled to the bar area in the back. I saw so many beers that I've never even seen before so I'll definitely be back to try out new beers. It was suggested that we try the number 9 so we did. It is a triple IPA and it was amazing. We were forewarned that after just one beer we'd feel a buzz and that we did. The beer was a triple IPA by Knee Deep brewery (I think). The staff was kind and welcoming. This place is like walking through the wardrobe into Narnia. Looks like a standard liquor store from the outside but walking in you'll follow the path down past the great beer selection in the fridge and discover a brew pub serving quality local micro brews in the back. I love this place, and the bartender is what made it. Excellent selection in domestic and imported craft beer. He educated me on the differences between, Belgian, IPA, Stouts and Sour beers. I simply wish there was more of an online presence. Had I not accidentally stopped in after doing groceries at Raley's, I would have never know this bar existed!! With the addition of an Instagram, Facebook or even a basic website I can see the fruits of this business' products reach a broader audience and prosper. They sell groceries from India in the front and have a bar in the middle portion and more groceries and clothing from India in the back section. What turned me off is that the place is not kept clean. Its dark and dingy inside and I will not be surprised, with all the groceries on the shelves, they have rats running around at night time. This Morning I was driving down San Pablo Dam Road when this store caught my eye. It was about 9.30 in the mourning and I was greeted by a very friendly and extremely knowledgeable employee and a true craft beer enthusiast by the name of Diego. They have the most amazing Craft Beer selection I've seen around here. Way better than Ledgers in Berkeley and Monument in Concord which is perfect for me because I live near by. They also do Beer and Wine Tasting on Friday and Saturday. I'm glad to support a local business like this we needed it here and I hope its here to stay. read more
