Brunch at Bottles! I knew that it was a wine and liquor store with a sit down menu, but I didn't know what to expect of their brunch menu. This place was recommended by a stranger at Borders (while I was looking at Puerto Rico travel books) and my boyfriend's mom. So we went to check it out on Sunday. The menu is a little expensive for what you would expect from a restaurant connected to a wine/specialty food store, but it is totally worth it when you see how much food you get and how great it tastes. Everything on the brunch menu was around $15-25. I had the banana foster's French/Texas toast , and it came with potatoes, a croissant, fruit, a piece of bacon, and ham. I couldn't eat it all and had to take the rest to go. The food came out quick and the waiter took good care of us. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch to anyone! read more

Mann...I don't even know where to begin with this review!! But this restaurant is just too awesome! My friend brought us to this restaurant for brunch because she said this place is really good! Between the 6 of us girls, we ordered a dozen of the oysters, the steak and eggs, the eggs benedict, and the Banana French toast! It may not sound like a lot of food between us 6 but omg the portions are HUGE!!! So crazy!! And everything was just deliscious and cooked to perfection! Almost every entree came with bacon and fruits as well. Everyone was super full and satisfied by the end of our meal. Oh and just a tip but you can also get unlimited Bloody Mary's if you ask. =) So if you are ever visiting Puerto Rico, you should definitely try this place! You won't regret it! I ate at Bottles one time during Sunday brunch and that was enough to make me a fan. I went with a group of people so I got to see different brunch items and let me say the portions are HUGE! And when I say huge, I mean 8 egg omelet huge! Brunch was great. I really don't have to say much more. The omelet - great, momosa - great, french toast - great....it was all great. I was so much food that you can def. share it between 2 people. What is really cool about the place is the small shop they have in the front where you can buy craft beers, wines, and other ethnic foods to take home. It is located right by San Patricio and has valet parking. Warning - if you are going for brunch you might have a small wait! But it is worth it! read more

Good food. Ridiculously large portions. Be prepared to share everything! The mozzarella in the caprese is really more like a burrata but delicious. The cod was very large and cooked well. I ate brunch at Bottles with a group of friends. The place was busy, they say us right away. As we walked to the table, we noticed right away the huge portions of all the meals--they are monstrous and can feed two hungry people. Sadly, the large portions are the most impressive feature of the food. It's good, but not spectacular. If you want to eat lots, for only slightly overpriced items, and not wait hours for a table or service, then Bottles is perfectly serviceable for brunch. read more

We called to make a reservation, they told us,"they were not taking reservations." When we arrived they told us the wait was 45 minutes to an hour/or longer. We asked why the wait when there were 4-5 empty tables. They said, those tables were the owners tables and they couldn't assign them. After pushing back, they found us a table in the back by the bar. After having this negative experience in getting a table, we were very lucky to have Hector as our waiter, he was very attentive, professional and took good care of us. We were so pleased with his service that we left him an additional tip beyond the 18% the restaurant automatically charges to all checks. Bottles is one of the better restaurants outside of old San Juan. You wouldn't know where it was unless someone local mentioned it. The wine list is fantastic (hence, Bottles) and the food is even better. I went with work colleagues and we had the quiet back room to ourselves. The waitstaff is great and the food comes out quick. The risotto, lobster and steak are to die for. Even the antipasto meat and cheese plate is really good. You can't go wrong here as all the food is consistently good. I have been to Bottles probably more than 20 times in the passed 10 years. I have also sing their praises and brought numerous clients and colleagues to it, however, I was truly disappointed during my last visit two weeks ago. The Grilled Octopus, a MUST, is no longer offered, instead they have a sautéed style that it was really bad. My favorite Lobster Ravioli was definitely not the same, poor taste, A LOT less quantity and A LOT less lobster. Going again with a group in two weeks and I hope it will not be my last. This is not a tourist place. But if you are one, you will enjoy it. The food is excellent and of high quality and the portions are huge! The seat area is large and informal, and it gets crowded on weekends. It is a place to drink wine and some snacks, as well as having a full high quality dinner. The wine selection is one of the best in the island and you pay regular price for wine, not restaurant tag. The service is slow when crowded and not very corteous. Very good for families or groups. Today was my once a year exception to come to Bottles to have lunch. Since I sat down, I remembered why my once a year rule exists. The waiter was so rude and pathetic. It is sad when you go to a place where the waiters think they are doing you a favor by serving you. And then, when I ordered a sandwich, he looked at me like "really?" Yes its overpriced, however the portions are beyond Huge! 4 of us came and we shared 3 appetizers and 1 main course, we were stuffed. The dumplings and berry salad delicious. I absolutely love the food and the wine/champagne here. My family and I love to come here and enjoy time together chatting and enjoying the food/drinks. I definitely recommend it. Last time I came, though, I was disappointed because I ordered wine and the waitress came back with another bottle because it's "better". I ordered what I wanted and she thought she was being smart about it. It was disappointing because she thought I didn't notice (and anyway, I like the one I ordered.) Price was definitely not the problem because it was EXACTLY the same price. I don't understand why the waitress was so rude and telling us that we HAD to drink the one she opened even though it wasn't the one we ordered. Just go get it and the waiter will open it. Good selection and mostly higher end- no $15 bottles. Now the food- we had a party of 8- ordered 4 appetizers and 4 main dishes- PLENTY of food served family style, this is what makes it a good value. And it's really good- recommend the shrimp/gnocchi, chicken Marsala, ribs. The service is good too- didn't experience what some of the other reviews noted. The tip is included in the bill, our service was very good and we added to the tip. Best dinner we had all vaca! Ended up going back 2 more times. read more
