He was very forthright in stating that due to Covid he was baking from home but that all Covid protocols were in place. He walked me thru the types of cakes he could get by my deadline and I chose the Herman Chocolate Cake. I checked in with him the day before delivery and recd a text when the cake was delivered. The process was easy and flawless because I used CashApp. Now my dad is very particular about things re sweets due to diabetes but he told me that he hasn't ever tasted a sugar free cake so darn good. His cake was delivered on Saturday and since then he has talked about the cake. Even his wife was pretty impressed. Though I didn't taste the cake, I know it was delicious because my dad doesn't play when it comes to food. He said it was fresh and super delicious. Usually there is a single file line out the door. Please don't try to cut or people will give you the ugly side eye. Once you reach inside, you need to do your best to scan the option because once you're called up, there's not much time to browse. The good thing is that if you don't know what's available - you can always point to the egg tarts (always top shelf) and pineapple buns (always in the far left display case). Once you've come a few times, you can have a general idea what's available and don't even need to browse the case anymore :) During autumn moon festival season (fall) they always have the most impressive display of beautiful moon cakes available with 0-3 yolk options and a multitude of fillings. The basic classic ones are lotus, but if that's too unfamiliar - go with all the familiar easy options. They are all amazing. And they have since increased their "if you don't make it to $10" box prices to $1. So really, just buy all the Dan tats to make it just over the $10 mark so you don't have to carry all your pastries in a plastic bag. Oh and no more than 5 pennies at a time. As a Filipino American, that definitely caught my attention. The host and servers were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Bibingka and a Pistachio Babka, and both were delicious and full of flavor. It was great to see Filipino flavors incorporated into their offerings, and I really enjoyed the experience.
