Was just here the other evening for my birthday and what started out as a not great experience ended up being wonderful, thanks to our server (I believe his name is Patrick)! I am not one to normally leave reviews but he truly deserves recognition for amazing service. I booked dinner for a Saturday evening at 7:30 about a month in advance for my birthday. As a Bravo fan, I was really looking forward to seeing the restaurant. When we got there, we were seated in Lamar's at a really small table. There were three of us and it felt like a 2-person table with an extra chair pulled up. I was a little upset that we were in Lamar's and not Bourbon n Bubbles, but more so upset at the size of the table since we intended on getting dinner and apps. We asked our server if we could possibly have a bigger table and she told us the host would come move us, but when he came by he said all he could do was sit us at the bar side by side, which did not feel like the appropriate solution since we were just asking for more space. Since I was really looking forward to that meal and had it planned so far in advance, I was of course upset, and the manager ended up finding a table for us at Bourbon n Bubbles (she was also fantastic!) Our server was so wonderful, so friendly and entertaining. He also gave me a glass of champagne for my birthday and he truly turned what started out as a disappointing experience into an amazing one. I hope I have his name right because he really does deserve some recognition. The food and cocktails were amazing, as well! We got the caviar service and i had the lobster roll and it was all super fresh and delicious. Overall, the evening and our server deserve 5-stars! I do think it should be disclosed that you may not be getting a table at Bourbon n Bubbles when you book a reservation though, instead of finding out upon arrival because I am sure most people have the intention of being there like we did! I just had the worst service from Abby, she was angry and unfriendly. We just wanted simple drinks. She made our experience horrible. What a way to greet guests at your establishment. I really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We ordered gnocchi that was so overcooked and soft it was inedible and had to be sent back. Service issues were constant throughout the night. We ordered three appetizers, two of them didn't arrive until after our entrées were served, and one never arrived at all. When we mentioned the missing appetizer to our waiter, he told us he had "just put the order in," despite the fact that we were already eating our meals. In addition, multiple entrées for our table were forgotten entirely. When we brought these concerns to the manager, no solution or effort to make things right was offered. We were also celebrating two separate occasions and informed the restaurant in advance, but there was no acknowledgment at all, which was disappointing. We were a group of 8, and there is an automatic 25% gratuity for parties over 6. Being required to leave such a high tip for extremely poor service and bad food (greasy and mediocre) felt unreasonable and left a very sour impression. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this could be a much better experience with improved service, communication, and food quality. Hands down worst service I've ever experienced in Charleston. Ordered appetizers and drinks and the appetizers came 10 min before our drinks arrived. Waiter never came to ask how we liked our food. We had to walk up to the bar to ask for more water and for our waiter to order another drink but even after asking it took Victor 10-15 min to come by again and we decided to just get the check and get out of there. As we walked though the restaurant there was 2 bars. One bar was spectacular! The ambiance was on point with the lights dimmed, music from the Gewastime frame was playing, the staff was well dressed. We placed our orders. This shrimp Cocktail was the best I have ever had and a nice presentation! Must try! I had the fish of the day and salad, incredible! Must try! The crab fondue. If you only take one piece of advice from me ever, please let it be the blue crab fondue. It was delicious and served with perfectly grilled bread. I'm addition to this amazing starter I also enjoyed Charleston restaurant week here. I got the deviled eggs and while they were nothing to write home about the juxtaposition of the crunch and creamy was a welcomed touch. The chicken lollipops were perfectly breaded and had so much flavor, I love the ranch on the plate as well. My only hope for this dish is that there was more waffle to go with each piece of chicken. Unable to decide between the death by chocolate cake and the blueberry crumble cheesecake I got both. The chocolate cake was rich and flavorful, I would've love to see it paired à la mode. The blueberry cheesecake wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. There was almost an artificial pop tart taste to it, but beyond that the creaminess of the cheesecake was perfection. Our server was phenomenal, incredibly attentive provided great recommendations, and was so helpful when it came time to decide what to drink with such a meal. I came in on a sleepy weeknight and sat at the bar. There were two bartenders and two couples at the far end of the bar who looked as though they had been there for awhile. The atmosphere was very chill. And yet the bartender on my end looked about as disengaged as a person could get. I'm not sure if it was toward the end of his shift or a break because he didn't want to be there. I asked him for a drink recommendation after giving him my preferences - a typical go-to that bartenders open up to - and he shrugged and said everything was good with about as much enthusiasm as a fast food worker on hour 8. I tried asking about the menu. I received the same noncommittal response. So much so that I simply decided having a drink and leaving as fast as possible was the best idea. A group of four came in shortly after I made my choice and sat near me. I gathered they were on vacation, enjoying life on King Street. I overheard them discuss their plans - dinner and a few rounds here before going off to other places. They ordered a round from the uninterested bartender who showed even less enthusiasm with them. He made them their drinks and disappeared to the back never to return. At first I thought he went to grab something. Then I thought maybe he went on break. After thirty minutes I realized he may have simply left. All the while the group of four finished their drinks and discussed food and another round. Their conversation became a proverbial sands in the hourglass as we all were ignored by the bartender on the far end of the bar. That man would not even glance our direction. I listened as the enthusiastic group became more muted and decided they'd get another round but not dinner. After several minutes passed they opted not even for another round. Went on a Saturday night for dinner, during restaurant week. This was my second visit and they exceeded the first. Our server, Jackson, was knowledgeable and patient. The manager, Scott, was hospitable and did a great job hosting our table and making the birthday girl feel welcome. The ambience is aesthetically pleasing and Instagram-worthy, but that doesn't take anything away from the food. Every single dish we had was amazing! The calabash shrimp made us dance, the shrimp and grits was flavorful, and the desserts made us clean our plates. We were a table of 4, but saw a large party and a lot of date nights as well. This is a tough review, because while I felt the food was decent, the price paid for this experience made it feel like a bit of a rip off. I came here with a group of wonderful ladies to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, and the dining experience had to be prepaid given the size of the group (there were 9 of us, should have been 10). We were seated at a winding bench just beyond the hostess stand by the entrance, in a space that felt more like a lobby or waiting area before the dining room. Very tiny and wobbly round tables and chairs were awkwardly placed along the long bench, and there was very little room on the tables for the food. At one point we were placing plates of food on the seat bench next to us. A visit to the restroom revealed that the restaurant really is not that big (from where we were seated, we could not see the actual dining room area), and it looked and felt more like a large bar/lounge than a restaurant. I wouldn't advise anyone with a party larger than 5 or 6 to attempt to dine here. The service was okay, we had several servers attending to us and some of them were great, while one or two of them probably should have stayed in the back of the house. All dishes were "shareable," starters, small plates, a LOT of French fries, and a handful of entrees. We estimated the cost to be about $235 per person. Some alcoholic drinks were included however, (*initially) the ladies' drink of choice was excluded (espresso martini), as was a slice of cake we requested for the birthday girl. For this price, we all felt that everyone should have received their own entrée, and that we should have been seated in a more suitable area that could accommodate us and our food and drinks. Several of the ladies in our party ended up having a conversation with the manager as we were leaving, and he was very accommodating and ended up crediting the charge for the martinis and cake slice, and also escorted half our party (half of us had already left) to the VIP area of a nearby nightclub with complimentary entry and a gift card. Now on to the Market Fish of the day. It was a Tilapia fish or Red Snapper or something but the dish should be taken off the menu ASAP. The truffle fries and Chicken wings tasted better than the fish. It came on a bed of uncooked sliced sweet potatoes and extra large Asparagus. Please tell me what I'm supposed to do with an extra large asparagus? So a lady walked up to our take and said how is everything going so I immediately got her attention and said is it ok if I tell you the truth and she said oh yes sure. So I told her the fish was not seasoned well and the food tasted bland and the sweet potatoes was uncooked. She apologized immediately and said let me go see what I can do and I will get back to you? Guess what guys? She never came back and the food was left on the bill and we had to pay for it. Why come and speak to me saying you will return with a solution and just never some back? We came to celebrate my 23rd birthday, and we had the worst experience possible. We sat at the bar, and we had the server Abby. She took over 15 minutes when the establishment was not busy at all. She was extremely rude and off putting. She slammed drinks and menus on the counter! I have never seen anything like this. My family actually felt uncomfortable and we left shortly afterwards. We were trying to pay, and she was nowhere to be found. She often left the room for extended periods of time, and she was very hard to get a hold of. We finally got a hold of a different person to get our check and she actually came back to deliver the check and she slammed it down and then walked out of the room. We said "thank you" when receiving the check and she did not event respond. She was the most rude and terrible bartender I have ever encountered. She should not be in employed here or anywhere. She is not meant for the service industry. This place is gorgeous and has plenty of potential, but I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere. We arrived immediately after opening time for the restaurant and sat at the front bar. The bar stools are very cumbersome and it's a struggle to take a seat. The liquor display was dark and it was noticeable the ledges were not uniform. As if the liquor display was an after thought. You can see the dust behind the bar and a very unattractive step stool. A bar with this hype should have hidden the step ladder and highlighted the bottles in a more luxurious way. We relocated to the back bar, which has more ambiance. For food we shared deviled eggs topped with caviar and beef tartae. The eggs were awful I ate one half of one egg. Just mayo, no white pepper, no dry mustard, no flavor. The tartare had quinoa mixed with the meat? When we wanted to receive the bill it was a 15 minute wait and an additonal 10 more minutes to pay. This is the go-to spot for my boyfriend and I. We have been here for date night, birthdays, family visiting, and just because! We love it here! I'm not a big bourbon or whiskey person but they have a great alcohol selection that can cater to anyone's tastes. I always get the Free Collins with vodka. They menu is small which I love. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the menu, the portions are larger in person. I have had the Idaho Chips, Blue Crap Fondue, and the Truffle Fries, but I LOVE the meat and cheese board! Honestly, I want to order three of them every time I go. It's has such a great array of cheese, crackers, meats, and jams. It's my favorite item to order. The wife and I called an audible tonight as our chosen venue was reserved for the evening. This was a fantastic choice located directly next door. The ambiance is casual but upscale. The servers were enthusiastic and friendly with attentive service. We enjoyed a delicious steak frites dish with some Holiday inspired cocktails. Both were enjoyable and went well with our meal. The hanger steak was delectable and tender and the herb fries were crispy and paired perfectly with the gravy. The bourbon bar is a lovely centerpiece where many can gather and enjoy conversation on plush bar stools. They even have live music from time to time and we lucked up this evening. I have celiac disease and a severe tomato allergy, both of which I communicated clearly to the staff. When we arrived, I was told by the hostess that the gnocchi was gluten free -- something that is critical for me to know correctly. Thankfully, the waiter double-checked and informed me that it was not gluten free. I appreciated the clarification, even though it was disappointing to have been told otherwise by the first person. I then ordered a sandwich with a gluten free bun and made it very clear that it should come without tomatoes, due to a severe allergy. When the food arrived, not only were there tomatoes on the sandwich, but the fries I was served (and had started eating) turned out to be not gluten free either -- despite being initially reassured that they were. One staff member even used the word "promise" to assure me that the fries were safe, only to come back moments later saying they actually weren't. By that point, it was too late. I had already eaten a few fries, and I'm now dealing with the very real consequences of that mistake -- which will likely affect me for a day or more of our vacation. Several staff members came by to apologize, which we appreciated in theory, but the tone felt off. One person even started the apology with a cheerful "How's your night going?" -- which felt completely disconnected from the seriousness of the situation. The lack of clear communication between staff, the inconsistent (and incorrect) answers, and the failure to follow clear allergy and dietary requests made this an incredibly disappointing -- and frankly unsafe -- experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions. read more

We came on a Saturday and sat at the bar with three of our friends. The bar chairs are super awkward. My shorter friend couldn't scoot it in so we literally had to push her into the bar because they are so wide and weird. Bartenders were nice. I ordered the BNB Bruschetta. It was ok. Like Rebecca A mentioned, the bread wasn't toasted which was strange. My husband got the burger. He said it was good. If you want to try your husband's burger, they charge you $5, according to the menu, so that wasn't happening. My husband collects bourbon so I know quite a bit about brands and pricing. I'd much rather stay at home and watch him drink from his $35 bottle of Russell's Reserve 10 Year Old Bourbon than pay $20 for a 2 oz pour or $23 to have it as an Old Fashioned. But that's just me. With it being National Prosecco day I thought I'd take this opportunity to write my review about BNB and the best cocktail I've had this year. And I've had a lot of cocktails, but the Palmetto 75 was fantastic. This cocktail was made with High goal gin, grapefruit liqueur, blueberries, citrus, topped with prosecco. It's refreshing and tart and tons of flavors that I love. A group of us decided to meet here on a Saturday night. We didn't have reservations but we were able to get enough seats at the bar up front. I started off with the delicious Palmetto 75. I then switched to the First Love. Titos, pomegranate juice, domain de canton, citrus, topped with prosecco. This cocktail is pre made so it did not compare to the Palmetto 75. I finished it very quickly and switched back to the Palmetto 75. EW and her husband ordered food; the BNB Bruschetta and the BNB burger. Chris said the burger was great and finished it all. The bruschetta was cold bread sliced, not toasted and served with the Brie, bourbon sauteed apples, candied pecans. The toppings were tasty but the cold bread was a shocker. Eric did a bourbon flight and Laura did a champagne flight. They also had the charcuterie board and enjoyed that. We had a great time! During my recent visit to Charleston, my boyfriend took me to Bourbon & Bubbles for Valentine's Day. Mondays can be tricky for a reservation under normal circumstances with lots of F&B places closed, but adding a holiday to boot made it quite the challenge. After a lot of research he was able to land on Bourbon & Bubbles, and I'm so glad he did! The ambiance of the restaurant was romantic and very dim. They had lots of heart shaped balloons bobbing around on the ceiling as extra decor for the occasion. Luckily, I got a new phone with night mode, so I was still able to take pretty decent pictures despite the absence of light.  We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation, so we grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited. As their name implies there are a multitude of bourbon and bubbly options. It seemed only right that I tried one of their cocktails featuring both. I ordered the Charleston 75 (Bernheim bourbon, St. Germain, citrus, and topped with sparkling Rosé), and my boyfriend ordered Casamigos Reposado neat. I enjoyed the citrus flavor and effervescence of my drink and the interesting take on a traditional French 75. They had a special menu for Valentine's Day, which we opted for as it was a pretty good deal. The special menu included three courses for $175. You could also add a flight of sparkling rosé for an additional $45, but we decided against it. We added a Harvest Salad to start because everyone needs more greenery in their lives. Normally I don't like ricotta, but theirs was salty, creamy, and so yummy! The first course was their King Street crab dip. For their second course they served a 22oz bone-in ribeye and whole lobster to share. Asparagus and whipped potatoes were served as accompaniments to the main dishes. Lastly, they had 2 glasses of prosecco and chocolate cake for dessert.  Overall I was pleased with the value of the meal. My only minor grievance was that we ordered our steak medium, and it was definitely served rare. It didn't bother me too much since I typically order my cuts on the rarer side anyway. The herbed butter that came with it was so delicious! The cake was definitely a very rich end to the meal but the bubbles helped break up the heaviness. I would like to give a special shout out to our waitress Michelle for taking the time to talk me through how to tackle a whole lobster because it was my first time doing so! It was a bit of a challenge but I thought it was fun. We will definitely be back again! read more

I enjoy a dimly lit atmosphere and find it relaxing and romantic . If you have vision issues be prepared to use your cell phone flashlight. For the table , I recommend the cheese and charcuterie plate . This place was my least favorite restaurant when I was visiting Charleston and it was a shame because it's located in a great spot and it's very aesthetically pleasing but the staff was rude starting with the hostess. I also didn't love how packed and loud it was, granted I knew it was a popular spot but I didn't expect to have our table that was directly next to us be practically sitting on our laps which is essentially what it felt like. This restaurant has a beautifuuuul interior! Super stunning, swanky, and IG worthy. The service is also great and my waitress was attentive and on point all night. Why 3 stars? At this price point the food needs to be stellar and not just okay. I ordered the harvest salad which was pretty refreshing with well blended flavors. I added grilled chicken which was an additional $12. The chicken was subpar, slightly overcooked and the grill flavor was crossing over to burnt. In total the salad was $25. The salad was a great portion size but still not $25 worth. The drink I had was the resting grinch face. It was super cute and the flavors were lovely. It contains apple cider and was a great winter get up. It was $15 for a super small cocktail which is annoying, but a lot of restaurants are doing this so I won't make too much of a stink about it. I also tried my friend's crab drip and that was decent but also just in an okay way. The pita that it comes with the dip tastes store bought so my assumption is the $18 cost of the crab dip accounts for the cost of crab. Overall to pay $46, not including tip, for a mediocre salad and tiny drink just does not bid well. Higher price equals higher expectations and I suggest the restaurant either step up on the food or adjust prices accordingly. Go for the drinks!! My daughter and I stopped here for Happy Hour before an event at the Gailliard Center. We ordered the appetizers as it was Happy Hour. The King St Crabmeat Dip is a must! Dip is served hot with slices of Pita Bread and was delicious!! Crabmeat in every bite and very flavorful. Their Tempura Shrimp were flash fried perfectly and was served with a sweet yet spicy Apricot Habanero Glaze. The Chicken Wings were a bit disappointing. The Wings were fried to hard to chew and unfortunately the sweet and spicy glaze was dried up on the wings. Our drinks, I ordered the First Love and it was awesome, I didn't want it to end. My daughter ordered the Banana Bonaparte which she stated was perfect!! Overall I will definitely be back for the drinks and the awesome King St Crab Dip.
