    My receipt for my meal.
    Shannon S.

I paid for a meal at Bourree and then posted this review but somehow Yelp keeps flagging and deleting my review even though I have attached a photo of my receipt proving that I'm reviewing an experience I paid for. This is also not to mention that I have been eating the food at Bourree for decades and I have a far longer experience in the area than Yelp has been in existence. Perhaps someone with actual reading comprehension can look at this review without deleting it AGAIN. Bourree Cajun Smokehouse is an expansion of Chef Nathanial Zimet's Boucherie Restaurant which is right at the end of the block and around the corner. The building that Bourree is currently in was an Italian restaurant for a long time that opened back in the 90's called Café Nino that was run by the owner Chef Nino who was a fantastic fellow. Café Nino was a cash only dive joint where you selected from the daily entrees on display in a cafeteria style buffet and they also had pizza. So I always have a hard time adjusting to the fact that this spot is no longer Café Nino but is now Bourree. Now I have been eating the 12 Hour Roast Beef Po'Boy with horseradish cream & pickled red onion from Chef Zimet ever since he started selling it out of his purple food truck and at many of the local festivals. These days the only festival where they still sell their food is at the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival. So if you find yourself in the mood for a fantastic 12 hour roast beef po boy on Dong Phong banh mi bread this is the spot to get it! They also have some nice daquirie and beer options here. They also offer live music at certain times of the week so make sure to check their schedule for that. There are tables inside but they don't have a lot of space inside and the majority of their seating is located in front on their wonderful outdoor patio area. The menu is a bit concise here but they do have some nice items on offer here. This is also a great venue for events and I recently attended a nice one here. Overall this is a nice spot located in a beautiful area of the Riverbend right off St. Charles Avenue and is certainly worth checking out!

So I wanted to like it. I ignored the recent 1 star reviews because I wanted a roast beef poboy. Unfortunately they were accurate. It seems like they keep the roast beef soaking in the horseradish sauce. The beef tallow fries earned them a second star. Whatever they used to do with the food to get 5 star reviews, they need to go back to that. The service was good, but the restaurant could use a good cleaning.

Bourée is a quaint little smokehouse tucked away inside a gated garden. The atmosphere is fantastic, particularly on days pretty enough to take advantage of the large amount of outdoor space. I want to counter some reviews I see calling the place dirty. I've never seen it dirty. This is New Orleans. The building is old. Old does not mean dirty. It's a smokehouse that will remind you of a New Orleans dive bar inside. The daiquiris are not traditional, but they are good. They aren't 50% simple syrup and 50% liquor like New Orleans Original. The tea based daiquiri does taste like tea. If you're looking to get messed up before going out, it probably isn't for you. If you want a classy tasty take on a daiquiri, you won't be disappointed. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming, and orders come out quickly.

Cute little spot!!! They have amazing meat pies served with a side of crema!!! So amazing. One guy working when we visited so by the time we left he was swamped! 2 of the 3 frozen daiquiri machines weren't working, so Mr. Tea Time it was!!! All made to order stuff, so be prepared for a wait depending on what's ordered. Great stop on our trolley tour.

We went here on a Monday and arrived as it opened. One soul manned the counter and although out of quite a bit- made us a fabulous lunch. The weather was wonderful and we were able to sit outside while we ate and had a drink.

I love the outdoor space and delish daiquiris! The brussel sprouts were some of the best I've had too! Service was also great!

Bourree is our go to for wing takeout and they never disappoint. The wings are so fresh and flavorful as are the fries. All of their sauces are delicious. Make sure you ask for the ranch too! Love the fries as well although they are expensive and come in small portions. It's a little pricey for what they give you but they definitely care about the quality of their ingredients.

Really fun and relaxed barbecue place, perfect for takeout in the summer and great for picnic table dining when it's cooler. Really liked the bbq nachos and the barbecue pork sandwich. Nicely smoked meat, sauce that complements the meat. Decent selection of brews. You order up front and the food is delivered to your table. Casual and laid-back vibe.

I've never had crawfish and seeing it was crawfish season we were destined to be here. We built out our own seafood boil, which included, 1lb shrimp head off, 2 soft shell crab clusters, 1lb crawfish, corn, potato, and sausage. Let's just say we left with a pretty big leftovers box We ordered the hot house flavor and do not regret it one bit! Our server was so kind to show us how to peel and eat the crawfish and honestly it was so fun!! I will definitely be back next time in New Orleans!! One quick note I will say that I learned from a local that I wish I knew before this feast (And you should double check with staff if this info is correct). Most seafood boil places in the area when they have headless shrimp it is farmed and brought in from outside retailers where if you get head-on it's from local ships in the area/fresh caught. Apparently they've been struggling and if you want to support New Orleans local fisherman then go for the head-on shrimp. Again double check with staff if their head-on shrimp is local cuz I learned this information after visiting.

We waited approximately 30 minutes before our waiter even came to greet our table, which set a disappointing tone for the entire meal. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable or worth going out of the way for. It's possible the long wait and lack of attention from the staff affected the overall experience and my enjoyment of the meal. The restaurant has potential given the nice atmosphere, but the service needs significant improvement. Until then, I can't rate it any higher than 2 stars.
