I had a very bad experience with this company (if you call it that) also. She asked me to pick up my dog after 5 days saying that my dog bit her. Well your a trainer isn't that one the behaviors that you are supposed to fix? Well need less to say I picked her up, took her home and no behavior was attended to she still doesn't listen to "No" or "Off" so I spent $700 for nothing and I am not too happy. When I addressed this with her all she kept saying is that I signed the contract and that I did not finish the training! I only had 2 more days, she did nothing in 5 so what was she going to perform in 2 more a "miracle." I highly doubt it. I am discussed and disappointed. Bow chika Wow Town (what a great name!!) is a very centrally located indoor dog park plus a lot more, located in Warwick, RI. For $8 a visit (and I think you can stay as long as you'd like) you and your canine pal can come to this immaculately clean, wonderful large indoor park where (most) doggies play nicely. Sadly, my doggie is not one of those dogs. She kind of thinks she is a human, and really resents being brought here to play with other cute four-legged beasties. Some of them are just too "forward" for her, and even the little ones that she kind of likes to butt sniff bore her after just a short while. Aside from HER (my dog), all of the other dogs (and people) I have met there are nice, friendly, and all seem to be having just the greatest time. I feel so badly that my pooch does not want to join the fun. If I ever have another dog, I'll start bringing her to Bow chika Wow Town quite early in her puppyhood, and get her used to being with other dogs. (NB: The reason there is a charge is because there is rent to pay on the nice, spacious, and clean facility and staffers to pay for the work they do each day (another Yelper recently asked why there was a fee so I wanted to clarify). Every dog is vetted (pun intentional!) prior to being allowed to enter for the first time. Each dog must be up to date on shots and have a dog license (and possibly a note from the vet, not certain about this, since it's been a little while since I was there last). There is a staff of young workers who check people in, make sure that the indoor park is absolutely immaculate and sanitized (they have a special mechanism for cleaning the floor if the dog has an accident), and they monitor the doggies' activities to be sure no one of them is too hyper or aggressive, and they take immediate action to correct this. You will not find this type of cleanliness in any free RI dog park I have been in, and you will not know if the other dog yours' is playing with has any type of transmittable canine illness. The place is run extremely well, and in inclement weather, when one can really not walk their dog outside, this is a terrific alternative. I do agree paying $8 each time you visit sounds a bit high, but it is what it is. I guess in order to run such an operation in a positive way and to be paid for one's efforts (ie work), the owner is required to make a profit (ie, get paid). Just because my dog doesn't like it there, I do, and I think it is the greatest thing that this lovely woman opened up a wonderful place where pups can play indoors in an immaculate, dog-friendly, facility. My dog has been coming here since they first opened at their original location. We went to their grand opening and I fell in love with the idea of an indoor park and a daycare. She was their first daycare dog and has loved it ever since. The staff is so friendly and although she may only go to daycare once a week, they know her. That means a lot to a pet owner. Instead of having your dog sit at home and sleep all day, let them wear her out. She is exhausted for 2 days after going, I feel like it is a doggie boot camp for her, keeps her active and social with other dogs. She gets more exercise here than she ever would hanging out with me, I can only entertain for a few hours at a time. She has gone to the indoor dog park and every time the staff is attentive and the dogs have a blast. When I ever found out they had boarding and the dog wasn't in a crate all day, this was exactly what I was looking for. Too many places have boarding where the dog has a long crate but never gets to interact with other dogs. At Bow Chica Wow Town, the dogs can sleep in a crate or a 'bedroom' at night then play all day! What more could you want? We are both so happy with the service and the accommodations here! read more

I had taken our yorkie to BCWT for a week boarding after Xmas. I went for a ten minute evaluation and was told I needed vaccines; neg feieces and croup cough. So got those done came back neg and was all set! Was also advised to bring her in for daycare to get used to and play with other dogs as well as getting used to other people. Agreed. Dropped her off on Wednesday afternoon and thru that time was never told I could get photos until after 2 days I called and asked how she was and then was told to send request by email and they will send them to me. Done. I was sent two blurry photos and one was of her butt. Anyway, at this point I'm not amused but also not angry. So I was scheduled to pick her up on Tuesday before 11. I arrive at 10:15am. I chat for second with Nicole and she then goes and gets her. I know that dogs have excitement seeing there owners but I seriously thought mine was gonna have a heart attack. We say hi, then Nicole grabs her things and brings them out. I noticed my bed was missing, that's all set and so we leave. 1st my dog reaks of God knows what!!! 2nd she has what looks to humans as "pink eye"!!! 3rd her bed was full of urine! 4th they also took my food scooper! So I called and Nicole answers and I say " I see that her eyes are blood shot and oozing goo and I'm a bit upset at this. I'm going to have to take her to the vet and have her checked out..." Nicole says " oh no! Is this the best # to reach you?" I say "yes!" She says "We will call you back!!!!" In the meantime I took her to the vet and low and behold she has an eye infection and her glands were also swollen!!!!!!! She was put on eye drops and antibiotics.!! $123.00 later. It has been since December 30th I still have not received a phone call about my dog and the well being of her health...I may have a philosophical question for you all; Isn't it just as important to have a healthy dog exiting just the same as entering?! I will never return nor recommend this place to anyone EVER! read more

I have only used bowchickawowtown for the dog park. It's useful in the winter when the snow is so high and temps are so cold. I think it's a great concept but I probably won't continue going in the summer. I have a couple issues with this place, mostly i worry about my dogs hips because the floor is just cement, the dogs drink from a water bucket and the floor gets wet, i can see dogs feet slipping out from under them when they try to run, the wet floor offers no traction.. it would be nice if they had that rubber matting down. I have a feeling it would be a very bad thing for a dog with hip dysplasia. Also, its good that they have a staff member in the dog park, but they dont seem very knowledgeable about dog behavior. when i went the first time, my dog was getting picked on a bit (which he loves) and they separated him away from the other dogs... i payed 8$ for my dog to get some energy out not watch all the other dogs behind the fence. Hes submissive and rolls on his back to play, willingly... this can look bad if you're not aware that he's on his back on purpose.. how submissive dogs play. All in all i think the park is a good concept run by nice peoplr but they could make some improvements. read more

The staff here are very friendly and make an effort to get to know your dog, however, some of the clientele are too uptight for comfort. I went here once and will never go back. The three women that were there were "cliquey", and I felt like an outsider. My dog loves to run, play, jump and chase, and has NEVER been aggressive towards another dog. He is the definition of submissive and sweet. Despite this, it seems as though my dog's desire to run instead of remain still must have been interpreted as aggression?? Sorry I do not have a boring dog that does not want to chase the ball that has been thrown. I will stick to bundling up and going for a walk with him next time instead of feeling like a felon. Once the days get longer and warmer, I cannot wait to get back to South Kingston Dog Park where we belong. read more

I have taken Clementine her twice and she seems to enjoy it. She comes home pretty tired after the initial "I AM HOME AND SO EXCITED" (she is a puppy). They were very clear about the temperament testing and that if she didn't pass I couldn't leave her (which I appreciate). I WISH I lived closer to Warwick so I could bring her to the indoor dog park! Bow chika Wow Town is the best doggy daycare in RI! Period. Our dogs love going here and the staff clearly love what they do and love dogs. We also have used their boarding services on a number of occasions and we won't take our dogs anyplace else. When our dogs are at BCWT we know they're safe, happy, and well-cared for. This is by FAR the best doggy day care to bring your pups too! My little Fred has a BLAST every time he goes! He gets his exercise in and it really tires him out! I was so excited to find out there was a place I could bring my dog too at least once a week on long days at work so he didn't have to be home alone! We've even used the doggy hotel as well there, and I felt very confident about being able to leave my pup there over night! The staff is extremely attentive and cares for all the dogs there! Fred knows exactly where we are going when I get his bag ready! He's very excited and just can't sit still the whole car ride! It's definitely a relief knowing I picked a great, caring place for my pup and he certainly feels the same way! I recommend this place to EVERYONE! My dog stayed at bow chicka wow town in August for two nights. We had been there a few times for their indoor dog park in the winter and my dog enjoyed it. However he was neglected and had to go to the vet immediately after we picked him up from his overnight stay. The vet determined that my dog had been left on hot pavement and sustained burns to all of his paw pads. When we took him home from the facility he napped for close to 2hours. After he woke up, I noticed he was limping and his eyes looked heavy similar to a child with a fever. We took him to our vet that afternoon and left with an antibiotic, pain medication and foot soak for the burned skin. I called the owner the next day and she admitted after reviewing the notes from the workers no one hosed down the pavement where the dogs spent the afternoon. The temperature was well into the 90s that week and humid. Why would dogs be put on the cement in hot August weather!!! The owner gave me my money back for the two nights but refused to pay for my dogs vet bill . The bill was less than $70 and she would not pay it. I wrote to the attorney general without a response from her. Horribly disappointed but thank god my dog healed quickly and seemed to be back to normal within a week. I cannot imagine how painful it was for my him and extremely uncomfortable. I would never leave my dog with them again. read more

Have used both the indoor dog park option as well as doggy day care. Quite pleased with both. Usually quite clean (occasionally a little stinky, but sometimes theres LOTS of dogs, and that can't be helped), staff is very friendly and helpful, and seem genuinely invested in each dog's welfare and "good time" while there. They monitor the play/interactions to ensure everyone is being good and having fun. There are a few "sections" within the big area, so smaller dogs can be separated, or somebody can have a "time out" if needed. My pup has gone to the daycare several times now and now knows where we are when we pull onto the street. He's SO excited to go play, and SO very exhausted when I pick him up. If/when we go away, will likely board there as well - he's already familiar with the place, and the boarders get to have playtime too. !!!!- Do call before you go, they are popular and sometimes fill up, which is impressive since its a big space and can hold lots of pooches. read more

I have used both the doggy playground and the boarding services with BCWT. The playground is a nice and clean area, the staff is quick to sanitize any mess that the dogs make, and treat the dogs as if they were their own. I have boarded my dogs at other places before, and was shelling out half of my paycheck just to give them play time with other dogs and/or the staff. Plus when I did a walk through with the other place, I never once saw the dogs all together or any staff member playing with them, so I couldn't exactly see the play area conditions or how the staff interacts with the dogs. The play area is great, especially since one of my dogs is smaller and doesn't care much for the cold. Now we can bring him there to run around and play with both my other dogs and other dogs who are there. Like I said earlier, the staff treats the dogs there as if they were their own. We don't go there as often as some of the other owners, but the staff still remembers our dogs and their behavior/temperaments. When we boarded the dogs for a week and a half, we got updates via facebook. As to the other poster about the ball rolling out dirty, the ball is covered in slobber and a wet object will pick up more dirt/debris than one that is dry. Dogs shed and with the amount of dogs in and out of there daily, of course there will be hair, they can't vacuum all day long to prevent it. This place is kept pretty clean and I have no issues taking my dogs there ever. Also, if you have kids who are a little intimidated by dogs they don't know, there is an area for the kids to play that is fenced off from the dogs, but they can still see the dogs. read more

Our puppy loves the indoor dog park. Have been twice. The first time was very busy with dogs and staff was nowhere to be seen. The experience was very overwhelming. But my puppy loved running around and playing so much, I went back. Second time, staff was amazing, knowledge and even talked me and the other owners through proper dog playing and good and bad signs to look for. We will be going back regularly and may even try daycare. Nice option to tire out and socialize dog in the colder months. read more

My little Murphy is a frequent guest at Bow chika Wow Town. I can't say the name without him running to the car, wanting to go. I boarded him for 8 days when I had to go away back in August. They took very good care of my pup and posted pics and even assured me by phone that he was okay. The staff is terrific! I love the new facilty on Maplewood - closer to my home and work. Their fees are reasonable for the level of care they give the dogs. I can't say enough good things about this place! Yes, Murphy is pooped after his visits but it's so much better for him to be able to play with other dogs, get attention from other adults and not be home alone when I am at work. Had one of the worst experiences here. First to get my dog into the day care was a nightmare, every time I went they constantly needed more items. After weeks of this process finally got my dog in. The first day went fine, my dog is a rescue dog so took some getting used to being at daycare. The second time he went I decided to purchase a 5 day "package" which was a nice option. About a day or so later my dog started to show signs of kennel cough. I understand this is common for dogs, however I was informed that this daycare was aware of a dog(s) that had recently been to the facility that were sick. I was told that there was a flyer explaining this, however there are multiples flyers in the same area (feels like a read the fine print to me) and the receptionist never verbalized this to me. Due to this now my dog is extremely sick and will have a costly vet bill to follow. While I understand they cannot control sick dogs, it should be more prevalent when someone drops their dog off for a day. I was told "it was a business decision not to send a notice out". Which basically means we want your $30 and don't want to scare away people from taking their dog here. I have checked with multiple other doggie day care's and they do not follow this procedure. They actually let the people know about sick dogs that have visited their place of business. Horrible business practice, but I guess the $30 they got is more important than my dog being sick for 21 days. Will not return. read more

Any dog owner should experience the luxury of BCWT!!! This place is absoultey amazing from top to bottom!!! Staff is betond accomodating and friendly also treats each and every dog like their own!!!! Our 2 year old black lab thinks this is his home away from home he is there at the lark or daycare multiple times weeky and LOVES every minute! Its a great place to let your dogs/puppies run free off leash and play with other pups their own size!!!! My husband and I do not have enough good things to say about "the town"!!! We have taken him there since they opened Staff is knowledgable? Competent and loving to our dog. When my dog knows he is going there he absolutely goes crazy. So I can tell his experience is a fun one for him. We have boarded him many times and have never encountered a problem. Our dog just loves going. Being in constant search of new, fun and safe places to bring my dog, I have visited just about every dog park in the state. While many of the parks I have visited have been great for my dog to interact with others and get some exercise, they have all shared some unfortunate commonalities. They are dirty, not staffed and offer nothing in the way of assurance that the dogs there are friendly and should be allowed to play with other dogs. Not to mention you have no idea if the other dogs there have up to date shot records, which could mean potentially getting my dog sick. It was for these reasons I stopped going to dog parks and chose instead to take my dog out by herself. That was until I found BCWT! This indoor dog park/daycare was just what I have been looking for! This place offers a staffed indoor dog park for my dog to socialize and get her exercise. BCWT is very clean, requires all dogs to be up to date on vaccinations and has friendly knowledgeable staff to help ensure your dogs visit is safe. The staff are great at introducing new dogs to social play as well as helping to guide dog owners to recognize signs of appropriate play. BCWT allows my dog to get the exercise and socialization she needs, as well as providing a clean, safe, friendly environment for dog owners to meet and interact. Not to mention the park provides indoor play for those cold and rainy days, and is even open at night. This park also offers doggy daycare. I have used this service and could not be happier with my experience. The staff were very informative and reassuring in making me feel comfortable with my dogs stay. They offered me a tour of the facility so that I would know exactly where and how my dog would spend its day. I have used other facilities who did not offer such a tour without an appointment. This made me very skeptical and uneasy and made me think they were hiding something. Overall I would highly recommend checking this place out. They also offer boarding which I have not had the opportunity to use, however I have talked to other BCWT customers who could not be happier with their experience. See you at the Town!!! read more

This is a perfectly acceptable doggie boarding facility, however, I have NO plans to take my dog back there for anything except a long-term stay. The doggy playground is great, the location is convenient, and my dog clearly liked roaming around all day with other dogs. There is plenty of space, although 95% of it is indoor space, with a small outside area for the potty. The reasons I will not be taking my dog back are purely financial. The rate of $38/day for boarding was acceptable, with one major caveat: BCWT says it's boarding hours are like a "hotel", i.e. boarding times are check-in 2pm or later, and pickup by 9 am. If you need to drop off earlier or pick up later, you also get charged a day-play fee of up to $28. A full day of over 4 hours is $28, and a half day of less than 4 hours is $14. So, for example, if you want to leave your dog at BCWT for 24 hours (9 am to 9 am), you will pay $28 for the 5 hours (how convenient - this is exactly enough time to make it a "full day") from 9am to 2pm (when check-in starts), plus $38 for the overnight boarding, which comes to $66 for just 24 hours!! Ridiculous! You could rent an actual hotel room for your dog for this kind of money. If you had to drop off your dog from 9 am one day to 2 pm the next day, that would be $28 + $38 + $28. Unbelievable. I have boarded my dog at many places around the country, and always seek out situations where he can play with other dogs, and never have I had to pay so exorbitantly. In addition to their ridiculous price structure, you also have to provide evidence of a negative fecal test in the last 10 days, so for you, the dog owner, that is an additional expense of $10 and up. Perhaps if you are going on a long trip, the extra expenses get averaged out over the many days you leave your dog here. Finally, one of the perks of leaving your dog here is that they post pictures of the dogs to Facebook. We left our dog for over a week, and saw exactly 1 picture of him posted. So don't be too wowed by this feature. The bottom line is that the facilities are decent and they will take good care of your dog, but the extra charges are off-putting and can add up if you don't pay attention. read more

We checked out Bow Chicka Wow Town after purchasing a groupon for unlimited visits. Unfortunately, there was no motivation to return. Although the staff were friendly, the facilities were lacking and I was not a fan of the staff guided interventions with dogs. A very loud "EH EH EH" constantly ringing out does NOT make for a pleasant time. We also found the facility to be rather dirty. Don't get me wrong, dog hair is to be expected, but my dog's ball rolled under a bench and came out covered in furballs and dirt - an unacceptable level. read more

Great place to bring your dogs while you're away. Most associates are very kind and passionate about what they do. Unfortunately I will not be going back, my most recent experience was very uncomfortable. They must have hired a new boy at the desk, I have never seen him in there before. Had an attitude the second I walked in, rolled his eyes at any of the questions I had, not to jump the gun but he seemed like he was under the influence. This place normally holds very high standards, but clearly they have let a little loose when hiring employees. This use to be a good place to take my dog for day care but not any more .Nice owner and helpers but they are not dog trainers, they are dog sitters, they are not schooled in dog behavior. They want all the dogs to get along instead of putting them in proper groups. Of course this would be more work. They do not want any high energy dogs, this would be more work. Hi folks: After hearing about this dog park/day care/ overnight dog motel, I went and checked it out before bringing my 3 labs for an overnight. I met a couple of people leaving before entering and I asked how they liked the place and they "love it". Upon entering I did not smell urine/poop, which I was afraid of; it is a VERY CLEAN environment and the business has enough equipment to alleviate any odors. I ended up bringing my 3 labs to Bow Chika Wow Town on Saturday, July 6th for an overnight. Although I had a little trouble getting one of my dogs in (as he thought he was going to the vets), upon entering the door and going behind where the dogs play, he immediately took off and was greeted by the other labs there (that day) and didn't even notice I was gone. Upon leaving, I kept checking my phone during the afternoon and evening to see if I would get a call about one my dogs being placed in "time out" and no call came. When I went to pick up my dogs on Sunday, they really didn't want to leave. One of my dogs, Morgan, has a seizure problem and Amy made sure that she had all the information and understanding regarding this before taking Morgan in. I would highly recommend Bow Chika Wow Town to anyone who needs a place for their dog(s) to stay while they go away for a weekend and/or an extended period of time or even just to go and play; I felt the prices were very reasonable. The staff, Amy and I am sorry, I can't remember the girl's name on Sunday, were courteous, helpful and gentle with dogs, not only mine, but the others that were there for play time. Love the fact that some of the help are in referree shirts, sets them apart. Alyssa has started a business that meets my needs and while there registering, it appeared to meet the needs for those people who are unable to take their dogs for walks and/or play as there were several people coming in with their dogs just for play time. The prices are reasonable, the place is extremely clean and the care that the staff gives to our furry friends is phenomenal. I would be challenged to find care that is as personal and special anywhere else. Bow Chika Wow Town has been a life saver for us! We adopted a lab/hound mix with boundless energy and some destructive tendencies when he is bored. Bow Chika Wow Town gives him a place to use up all of his extra energy and teaches him some basic good behavior as well! He comes home tired, relaxed and happy. We started taking our puppy here for daycare about two months ago. We signed him up for daycare several days so that he would not be stuck in the crate all day at home while my boyfriend and I were at work. We also wanted him to socialize with other dogs. Our first visits seemed to go smooth and our pup was always tired out for the rest of the day/night after picking him up. However, the staff did not give much information on what happened throughout the day which, to me, is a red flag. How often are they really monitoring the dogs? In my opinion, owners should be given an overview of the day, how much their dog ate, how they behaved, etc. without having to ask. My boyfriend and I went away for a weekend and decided to board our pup here from Friday night until Sunday evening. I split up our pup's meals into ziploc bags and labeled each one "breakfast", "lunch", and "dinner". Even when I dropped him off Friday afternoon, I specified that he gets fed three times a day and they said that this would not be a problem. Come Sunday when we picked him up, I found that they did not feed our pup lunch on Saturday or Sunday as the ziploc bags labeled "lunch" were still full and in the bag for us to take home. They also did not feed him his dinner because they were "really busy that day" and had not gotten around to it. So, it was around 6:30 pm on Sunday and he had not eaten since early that morning, even though he needs to get fed three times a day since he is a puppy. Also, his lunch is his biggest meal of the day. Safe to say I was not pleased. I called the next day to figure out why he was not fed lunch. They said they track meals and that "unfortunately, he was skipped over" aka he was forgotten about. Dogs should be treated just like children. You would not want your child forgotten about and not fed at daycare, and the same goes for a dog. I will forgive, but definitely not forget. I will not be going back to Bow Chika Wow Town. read more

I brought my dog here for the first time to the indoor dog park in January. When I was there another dog was coughing. I asked the owner about it, but it was an old bull dog and the owner said he always does that because of his snout. I figured it was okay, although I was not super impressed with the place I thought it was my only option during the snowy winter months to exercise my very energetic puppy, so on the way out we bought a 5 visit pass which I figured we would use eventually. A few days later my dog started making the same noises as the dog at the park (brought her to the vet and the vet said it was an upper respiratory infection/possibly kennel cough). I called the Bow Chica Wow Town to tell them that my dog was coughing and wouldn't be back for a few weeks but I wanted to let them know so they could watch out for the other dogs. They said they would let everyone know to watch out for kennel cough. Three weeks later they had still not sent an email about the signs of kennel cough etc. Then about a month after my initial and only visit I got an email saying that our pass was about to expire. I told the owner on the phone that she had not been back to the dog park because she was sick and we already called about this. The owner said she was not responsible for her being sick and there were no reports of kennel cough at all. I know this not to be true because I myself called and reported my dog being sick about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I told her although it is not her fault my dog got sick, the weather is getting warmer and we would likely go to the regular dog park and I did not want a refund on my initial visit, just on the rest of the package that we bought and never would use. She said she would extend the expiration date but refused to offer a refund. She never asked how my dog was feeling or mentioned that I should wait to bring her back until she was better. Great place for your pups to get exercise --day or nite--summer or winter. 8700 square feet of indoor play area. Milan, my 2 year old Chocolate Lab loves it here. She's been going since they opened the doors in Dec. 2012. She's made lots of K-9 friends, as well as the staff. Alyssa and her staff are great with the dogs, and there are very rarely any problems between the dogs in the park. Lots of ball chasing, tug o' ball, and wrestling which helps burn down my Lab's energy. I've also used the day care option. Great option when I'm on the links for an all day event. Drop off early in the morning and pick up late afternoon. And if you need to board, they do that too. Your pup will actually get out to play with other dogs, not just sit in a cage all day. Accidents do happen, but their indoor central vac system keeps the floors and kennels clean. I have sent some of my friends there, and they too loved the idea. I highly recommend this dog park/ day care/ boarding facility. read more
