woomadang has quickly become my favorite k-bbq spot in all of washington! after coming back from korea and trying about 6 different kbbq spots in the area, i've been twice in a row here now and i have ALL good things to say about this place. their meat quality is great, marinade and flavors taste amazing for marinaded meats. they have a great selection of options and 3 tiers of choices that each unlock more items so as long as your group selects the same tier, you can get exactly what you want off the menu. we always go for the course B, which unlocks stuff like rib fingers, steak, LA kalbi, and many of the seafood options. note that per order you can order 4-5 items per round as you please (no wait time in between the rounds) in the 100 minute dine time, and unlimited sides or side refills!) aside from that, their sides selection is amazing. aside from the regular banchan (which includes tteokbokki, gamja salad, kimchi, odaeng, etc. all the good stuff) you can order cheese corn in a cup to go on the grill, steamed egg, and sundubu jiggae as well! so many great options for sides all included in the standard menu. based on your height, kids or shorter folds can eat discounted or free (~5ft 50% off, and so on, there's a height measure up front which i found delightful) there's also great music, karaoke nights, and great ambiance over all here. ventilation is also excellent and the whole place is quite energetic without being over the top. great for friends or families! price is very reasonable, especially given how expensive options in the area are for non-AYCE kbbq. this is a stand out spot! we normally don't have to wait to be seated, and also- if i could highlight one part of the experience as consistently excellent- the service. the service is amazing. super friendly staff that recognized me even on just my second visit. they're super helpful and attentive, and for my group, we even got a haemul pajeon and delicious sujeonggwa slushie on the house (didn't sway the review, but just really highlights the excellent service)! overall: 10/10 quality: 10/10 price: 10/10 i *will* be back! highly recommend you check them out too! read more

They also noticed it was someone's birthday and took the initiative to bring out a slice of cheesecake. The premium marinated kalbis were good although a little too sweet for me. The chadol and beef belly were good. The scallops were not so much, and I wouldn't necessarily order the ribeye again only because it's not what I'm looking for in kbbq. Stopped by Woomadang and decided to not do the KBBQ this time to just order a few dishes. Ended up being a great call because the premium beef rib soup is incredible. The broth has so much flavor and the beef was super tender. I may order this next time even if I do the KBBQ. We also got the beef brisket soybean paste soup. It was good but I'm just not a huge soybean paste guy so the rib soup definitely won for me. The banchan selection was solid too, especially the mashed potatoes and kimchi cucumber. Went here for dinner around 8:30 PM yesterday, wasn't too busy and it was a great first time experience. The quality and varieties of meats/sides were solid. Onion soup at the start, delicious. Everyone on the team was attentive and quick to get things out to us. Their last call is around 9:25-9:30, they were really nice in getting us all the requested meat in that last rush. Course B for 42/person, totaling out to 517 for our group of 7. We added 3 soju bottles, 1 somaek tower, and the highball. This KBBQ spot is pretty solid overall. The service is very friendly, and the quality of the meat is decent for an AYCE restaurant. We went with the premium option so we could try all the meat selections, and the premium ribs were definitely the highlight. The non-marinated ribs weren't as tender, but the marinated ones were really good. The only downside on food was the clear soup they served as we sat down, one of the soups tasted very biter and chemically. All the other soups tasted fine so not sure what was going on there. They used to have a self-serve sides and snacks bar, but it seems like that's no longer available. When we asked, they said sides are now just served from the menu, which is a bit of a bummer since the self-serve bar really helped justify the price. Went multiple times for the Green menu. Forgot the price cause honestly, it's worth it. Food: They serve broth as an appetizer, and I love soup. When it's time to order, they handed out wonderful cuts of meat and great side options. My partner and I get our usual brisket and beef tongue. I also really like their soondooboo and steamed egg. Banchan selections are very plenty, I love all of them. Sometimes after eating we get a shot of a cinnamon and chia seed slushie to cool off, and I like how it refreshing it is. When we came, we were seated right away, the staff is attentive, checked on our table frequently. They come right away when we need a grill change, refill on banchan, or another round of meats. We had the $49 All You Can eat (Course C ) they offer a top quality meats. We had premium rib eye, marinated beef short rib, pork belly, spicy baby octopus, scallop, mussel and pork jowls. Overall, the food is 3.5/5. I rounded up to 4 for the service and the wide variety of dishes available. It's an AYCE with three different categories to choose from. We tried a mix of meats, cuts, and marinades. I liked the beef belly and spicy pork bulgogi. They serve generous portions for each order. You can select up to five items per round for a table of four. The marinated kalbi and pork jowl were fatty. The brisket and thin pork belly wers okay. The beef tongue had a rubbery texture that I personally would not recommend getting. They provide a lot of banchan, which I loved for the variety. The japchae was delicious with a nice sesame oil aroma and flavor. The pink radish paired really well with the fattier cuts of meat. There were only three servers on the night of our visit so they were busy. We had to wave them down for orders and water refills but they were always super nice and never seemed annoyed. Ok I have to update my review now that this place is under new management. This is my first time back in a while/ under new management and I have to say I was impressed. This is in my opinion the best AYCE Korean bbq in the eastside. The quality of the meats is good. Service is friendly- even on a packed Xmas night we had people checking if we need anything. I love that they don't limit how much you order. The portions are honestly super generous per order. We ordered the BBQ for two. It came with lots of tiny side dishes and a huge platter of meat. We had the leftovers for the next night, so I'd say it feeds four people. We had fun cooking our meats. Unlike other similar restaurants, there was no smoke in the air. They have an excellent HV/AC system that keeps the air clean. We really enjoyed all the food, especially a few things we'd never had before like mashed potato salad. The servers kept checking on us to see if we needed help BBQing. Nice place that really know how to make ya feel special for your birthday. Came here with my wife and our friend...during our meal they had 2 birthday celebrations where the music is played throughout the restaurant and the staff sings all together. We had the Course A AYCE and love how they come out with the perfect portions of proteins to make sure you don't waste the food. Spicy pork bulgogi is always my go to and it was perfect. I didn't ask if they had the soybean paste or lettuce leafs to make wraps...but if they do I'm definitely coming back. Their potato salad has apples in it, which I'm not used to that. I prefer no apples. Brisket was great. They have some nice dipping options to pick from. Their gyoza was nice...but I'd prefer the gyoza sauce I had when I was in Korea. Menu has changed - more selections, specifically the thicker pork belly is now part of AYCE 2. No more hot bar. This is a bummer but most items are included and brought straight to the table. Distinctive from other AYCE places - full lettuce leaves. And their beef radish soup - still bomb. 3. Their meat quality is always superior than other AYCE places. I went here because someone recommended it, but it was a big letdown. I brought my friends for AYCE (about $55 per person), and the meat was not fresh at all. The brisket and other cuts were chewy and rubbery. Some of the meat even had marinated ginger on it, which made it taste strange. The staff were strict and grumpy whenever we asked for refills, which is ridiculous for an AYCE place. And the sauce? They only have one--ssamjang--and it tastes bad. Honestly, go somewhere else. Side note: I happened to stumble across an IG influencer who featured this spot and they got dessert ice cream. K-BBQ Woomadang is located in Redmond, within the same shopping center as the movie theater and other restaurants and a health center nearby. Parking is plenty and it's easy to find. The space itself is large, with plenty of tables for large groups. You can make a reservation ahead of time, especially for large groups. The first time I came with a large group, only some in the group wanted to do the AYCE option while others did not. With that said, in order for some in a large group to do the AYCE option, ALL members of the group must participate. They are very strict about this rule. Therefore, for our group of 12, we ended up just getting a la carte options, which is when I tried the soft tofu soup with beef. It was solid. And you do get AYCE banchan. But compared to other Korean spots around, it's nothing to brag about. In my most recent visit, my partner and I tried the AYCE option. They're currently offering a $39 anniversary special for the AYCE option versus the $50 it normally is. We visited on a Saturday night and the place was busy, with many people dining in. The AYCE option includes a variety of meats to choose from to grill, as well as the buffet of hot and cold food items. The cold items were mostly the banchan they serve for a la carte dishes, and I'd say this is better than the hot food items. The hot food items were bad. I had a chicken wing, which was super dry. I could tell it was sitting under the heat lamp for a while. The tteobboki wasn't even fully cooked as it was hard to chew and cold. Yuck! This hot food buffet is not good. As for the meats, we tried the beef bulgogi, brisket, ribeye and short ribs. Of the bunch, I'd say the beef bulgogi was the best because it's marinated so has good flavor. The short ribs were also fine, but pieces were fatty. The ribeye was the worst, as it was a thick piece of frozen beef that was so bland. You really need to hit up the sauces at the buffet station to enjoy the meat here. All in all, I wouldn't visit K-BBQ Woomadang again. I came, I saw, I conquered and I wasn't impressed. With so many other Korean restaurants around, especially news ones popping up all over the Eastside, I can't say this is worth checking out. read more

Amazing attentive monitoring of my courses, a mid course grill swap and some gentle suggestions on cooking certain cuts differently for better end. We went to Woomadang for a birthday dinner and were slightly disappointed. We had a group of 7 people with us. We all ordered the unlimited buffet option and due to the amount of people we had and differing palates, we wanted to try every meat option. We ordered that and were only given about half of them. The service was incredibly slow and it's like our server neglected us halfway through. We kept having to call over people to help us order more food and get more water and they treated us like we were an inconvenience to them. Most Korean BBQ places will change the cooking plate every 20-30 minutes and ours were not changed out once. Food was absolutely caked on the bottom by the end of it. I do not envy whoever had to clean it (it was probably easier to just toss it because it was so dirty). The food itself was pretty good. The beef bulgogi and short ribs were our table's favorites.
