Tried OTOP THAI for lunch on Thursday with my coworkers after our job treated us to lunch, and honestly... this spot HIT the craving perfectly Me and my colleague specifically wanted mango sticky rice, so we decided to give this place a try, and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the chicken pad Thai along with the mango sticky rice, and both were AMAZING. The pad Thai was fresh, flavorful, warm, and packed with a really good balance of sweetness and savory flavor. The chicken was tender and the noodles were cooked perfectly. And the mango sticky rice?? SO good. The mango was sweet and juicy, while the sticky rice was soft, creamy, and super satisfying. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal for me! My manager picked everything up as takeout, and despite being to-go, the food still arrived fresh, warm, and delicious. The portions were also really solid. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I didn't get the chance to dine in and experience the atmosphere/service in person, but based on the food alone, I would absolutely order from here again. This place has gotten a lot better since the last time we were here. We have been patrons of this family-owned restaurant for many years since I was a kid. Now that I'm older, we still try to support the local mom and pop shops. It's been a while since our last visit and the experience was t so great. This time around not only did the service get better, but the food and value was a lot more pleasant. The gentleman that helped us was very polite, on top of everything, attentive, and friendly. He took care of us got us everything we needed. Their lunch specials on weekdays is also a hit! I think it's really worth it for the price and the portion. We really loved it that we went twice within a week. The only reason I'm giving this a minus one star is because the information wasn't quite consistent. The first time we were told no fish sauce or meat products in their pad Thai, the second time they said it did. So now we're wondering if we ate animal products the first time they said no--when he clearly stated it didn't and we made sure ahead of time. Also the first time the server wasn't as accommodating to separating eggs out, however on the second visit they could. I'm wondering if that's only because we were a retuning customer. So it was a little wishy washy. Meaning, it wasn't consistent. One minute it is, then the next it's not. Overall the ambiance and atmosphere was very cozy. A little gem in the city. Found this place on Yelp when we were going to an event at So-Fi. Pulled into the small parking lot and there was someone parked crooked where we could not park into the open spot for the restaurant. The other 3 open spots were assigned to the water store and tattoo place. My nephew went into the restaurant to see if the person was in the restaurant to maybe park their car better so we could park too and they weren't. The owner or person in the kitchen in the restaurant came out and moved their car so we could park in their spot so we appreciated that. We went into the restaurant and sat down and the girl working immediately brought us a carafe of water and cups. Since the 4 of us had not been here before we asked for more time before ordering. The place is very small with only a few tables and is decorated with unique items from Thailand and antique signs. First thing I noticed is how clean everything was in the restaurant, the ceiling fans, the lights, the fake plants hanging as decor and the items in the shelves. I didn't see dust anywhere, so that was great to see. We all ordered and decided to share since we couldn't take home leftovers. We got 2 hot pots, Tom Yum and Tom Kha both with chicken. We got a side of white rice and brown berry rice. The soups were very tasty and not over filled with pieces of lemongrass and other items. The Tom Kha was not overly coconut flavored and both had plenty of chicken. I would say our only complaint was the side of white rice is small for $6. Most places give you twice the amount for that price. This was the first time we had ever heard of or seen the brown berry rice when is a purple color. This is supposed to be healthier than brown rice and it was flavorful. We also ordered Pad See Ew and they were able to put the Chinese broccoli on the side for me and I appreciate it. I can't eat it so my hubby eats it. The Pad See Ew was flavorful and not overly sweet or drowned in sauce. The portion size was pretty decent as well. The other item we ordered was the Pad Thai. Plenty of chicken and items in it and it did have good flavor. Our server did come several times and checked on us and she kept our water cafe full for us. This place was a great little restaurant and we truly enjoyed dining here. We will definitely return when we are in the area. Friendly service. The lot is small so parking is rough if the spots are taken. It is also small inside so it's better for solo or small group dining. It's a hole in the wall but a friend and I wanted to try their budget friendly lunch special. You don't really find prices like this anymore. It was a cute small business. Family owned. They had bossa nova playing in the background which lent a very chill vibe as well. The lunch specials are all reasonably priced. I ended up going for the Pad Thai as the waiter mentioned it was one of their most popular picks. Food came out fairly quickly and was decently portioned. Hole in the wall place it may be, but clean and good friendly service. The Boat Noodle soup is legit. The overall flavor is slightly less than what I like, but still very good. Since it is my first time here, I ordered the noodle with just level 1 spicy, which was just mild for me. Next time, I will bump that up to medium. Ordered the bbq chicken from their lunch menu lunch menu and the shrimp pad thai , awful my chicken was dry and seem like it was warmed up, the egg fried rice was dry my daughter's meal, her egg rolls were so cold it must have been frozen for them to slightly thaw them out and three shrimp one shrimp was cut in half for them to slightly price you pay. We been coming here since inception and things has drastically changed. I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. I noticed a few days ago they charged me 18% tip without giving me a notice before or after with no consent. One of my new favorite places! I've now been twice over the last week. The yellow curry fried rice was so good that I decided to try it again with beef, and I was not disappointed. The portions were generous, the flavors were good, and it's great to have the option to customize your protein and spice level. My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the garlic beef, wings, mango rice, spicy fried rice, and bbq pork fried rice. The staff take good care of you, the food comes out quick, and the cozy dining room filled with Thai decorations and covers of popular songs makes you feel like you're having dinner at someone's home instead of a polished, commercial restaurant.
