A solid KBBQ spot! The marinated pork ribs were easily my favorite, they were so tender and flavorful. The meats were very fresh and the staff were friendly and quick to help throughout our visit. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere for eating with friends or family. I'll definitely be back for the marinated pork ribs!

How I didn't know about this place until now is beyond me. Anyway, so here we are, yellow cow is a solid kbbq spot in South Bay. What do you eat? Kbbq. Naturally. Although they have a plethora of other dishes you can order. My family ordered the set menu so we had 3 cuts of high quality meat, side dishes, and army stew which kept us nice and full after. They will cook the meat for you generally so don't fret if you're not an expert griller. If you come for lunch, they have lunch box options which is also a nice option. It can be nice and busy here so you may have a little bit of a wait on weekends but overall, a pretty solid option for kbbq in South Bay.

Brisket on the grill. Boneless short rib top right and beef belly bottom right.

Arrived as a party of 3 with medium appetite and ordered 3 meats a la carte: brisket, boneless prime rib and beef belly. Korean lady server was super nice and gave us steamed egg on the house. Ban chan arrived first and each one fantastic. Kimchi and pickled perilla leaf was my favorite. There is another male server that just gave us very bad vibes. Similar experience to another review - he almost angrily told us to move all side dishes to one side so there is room for the meat even though that is how it was served. He walks around the restaurant like a dark cloud exuding negative energy. Aside from that server, we enjoyed our meal. If it wasnt for him I would give 5 stars. All other staff we interacted with were very accommodating. Yellow Cow has amazing meat quality for the value and I would consider coming again if some action was taken for the not so great staff member.

Yellow cow is amazing!! I was hesitant to try this spot because it's not all you can't eat, (I like to eat a lot of Korean bbq when I go out). You get plenty of food. I went with my date and we did the 2 person meal with prime brisket and beef bulgogi, both meats were delicious! The sides you get were my favorite part and they all pair perfectly with your meat. We also got a free hot sake with our combo. The service here is top tier. The staff walk around, cook your food, change your grill, and make sure you have everything you need. This is a high end Korean bbq place and it's fun! You will have a hard time returning to any other Korean bbq place after having this one. It's more on the pricier side but for a good reason. You 100% get what you pay for.

In my honest opinion, this is hands down the best Korean BBQ spot in Gardena. With so many options around this stands out for high quality meats and tastiest side dishes. For budget friendly meals lunch is your best bet since dinner prices are expensive. Service is attentive and occasionally they'll monitor your grilling.

Saw this place on Yelp and saw they were highly rated. The food speaks for itself and we got a combo for the whole table. Got 4 meats with pork belly, Kalbi, brisket and bulgogi. Sides were very fresh and they filled it up every time we ask. The whole atmosphere was very full and lot of people coming in and out.

Huge fan of this place ! Been back a few times . It's cozy and clean . Great side dishes options and quality of meats ! I like their salad also . Service is fast and friendly .

A true hidden gem Korean BBQ spot -- no ads, only locals know about it! A long-standing, traditional Korean BBQ restaurant that's been rooted in the Gardena/South Bay area for years. They're known for top-quality meat, which is why they have so many loyal regulars. Not flashy, but cozy and welcoming. That old-school Korean BBQ vibe -- simple, honest, and full of character. Fresh, thick cuts of meat, and whether it's marinated or non-marinated, the fundamentals are solid. This is a place that lets the meat speak for itself. From premium cuts like ribeye and flower meat to unexpectedly amazing sides like soy-marinated crab and spicy tripe stew -- you come for the BBQ, and end up being impressed all over again by the sides.

IG: socalhkfoodies Looking for authentic Korean à la carte BBQ in Gardena? Don't forget to check out Yellow Cow . First thing that impressed us was their unique banchan presentation. The staff also gave great service, explaining different ways to enjoy the crispy pork belly. Ended the meal with cold noodles -- perfect for our "hot winter" in SoCal.

Simple points here to hit the most important points. Food quality: this place has really good banchan, especially for a kbbq restaurant which usually sticks to the basics. Their meat is also fresh, I had the duck roast and the meat just melted in my mouth. Their stew however (I got the bean curd stew) left a bit to be desired, taste a bit too bland, and definitely a pathetic amount for the price tag ($20 a bowl?). Ambience: typical kbbq setup, music playing loudly, tvs everywhere, definitely set up to be a lively place for group meals with drinks. Service: really attentive and friendly servers, checking in on you constantly.

TL;DR - will be coming back! Clean, spacious, great service, amazing ambiance. Brisket was good, black pork belly was great, and the steamed egg was very generous. I can't believe it took me all these years to finally try this place! The food and service here is outstanding. We went when they opened on a Saturday and there wasn't a wait, with plenty of available seating. I'd imagine this place is packed during dinner. The inside is very clean and spacious. They have a variety of combos and a la carte menu items. We decided to go a la carte and get their brisket, black pork belly, and a side of steamed egg. The brisket was solid. Nicely cut. No friable edges that cheaper cuts tend to have. The black pork belly was really flavorful. It's one of my favorite types of pork belly. The steamed egg was surprisingly large so I'd definitely get this again. Compared to what I'd usually see, their steamed egg was probably 30-50% bigger lol They cook the meat for you too which is always a nice added touch. We had a very pleasant time here and will be coming back!

$115 for Combo 1 -- advertised as serving two people. After tax and tip, the total came out to about $140. I'm not familiar with their local competitors in Gardena, but giving this spot 3 stars feels generous considering the overpriced menu relative to both portion size and quality. Today's Combo 1 experience should have been no more than $50 with tax. I walked out feeling like I overpaid by about $90. I do not recommend this place for Korean BBQ and won't be returning for that. They do serve other Korean entrées that might be worth trying, but the BBQ selection was a disappointment. I essentially paid $70 per person -- one adult (me) and one 10-year-old child. While we left full, it wasn't because of the meat portions. The servings were small and wouldn't satisfy two adults expecting a proper Korean BBQ meal. The pork (samgyeopsal) was among the worst I've had -- thin, tough, and lacking flavor. On the positive side, the restaurant had a lively dinner atmosphere, clean bathrooms, and about a dozen tasty side dishes (banchan).

All the goddies that come the the different rare meat that you cook in the fire in your table...

Let me tell you... there are thousands of Korean barbecue in Los Angeles... mine is in Gardena close to Redondo Beach, it's small dining room maybe for 80 people. When it's full the six or seven servers make the best of their effort to attend you and believe they do a good job. Yune our waiter really went the extra mile and the food with all the wonderful side dishes was just delicious. Really love it... and the price is right!!!

We ordered the galbi combo with spicy tofu. Soup was under seasoned and inedible. The galbi was the cheapest flaken cut you can buy at the Korean market. If you under staffed and unhappy then go to the back and scream and cuss but Why are you so sour and make sure the customers can hear you while passing by with the food and complain it's too busy ? We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!

We ordered the xiao long bao, broccoli beef, beef rolls, and chicken chow mein. The xiao long bao was excellent with a good amount of soup in each dumpling, and the beef rolls were probably my favorite item, especially dipped in a mix of black vinegar and soy sauce. The broccoli beef had a nice flavor, though I wished it had a little more meat. The chicken chow mein was the weakest dish for me: the noodle texture was great, but the overall flavor didn't stand out as much as I expected. Ordering was easy and the menu was very approachable thanks to the pictures. The restaurant is on the smaller side, which actually made it easier to get a server's attention when needed. Food also came out pretty quickly. The ambiance is straightforward and comfortable -- nothing fancy, just a solid neighborhood restaurant. Because it's small, you may have to wait if it gets busy, but tables seemed to turn over quickly thanks to the fast service. One practical tip: the portion sizes are bigger than they look. We had a table for two and ended up with dishes crowding the table pretty quickly. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.

They're typically very busy when we go on a weekday night. But once we got seated, service was fine. I usually get the pork wontons with chili oil. It's flavorful and it's actually not really spicy. We got the braised Xinjiang Market Chicken with sliced noodle. Very big portion. It had potatoes and bell peppers too. Noodles itself was good texture, but the overall dish lacked some flavor. I ended up dipping my noodles in the chili oil sauce from the wontons just to get more flavor in it. Good place to come for simple dishes. Overall pricing is reasonable as well.
