We visited for Sunday lunch right when they opened and were seated immediately. Based on other reviews, lunch seems to be the better time to come if you want to avoid long waits and the challenge of finding parking. The four of us shared the three-meat combo with brisket, bulgogi, and upgraded to the marinated galbi. The combo came with a variety of banchan, including some sides we hadn't seen before, along with radish and grape leaves. We also received shredded cabbage salad, steamed egg, kimchi soup, three bowls of rice, and two sodas of our choice. Our waiter was great! He was attentive, cooked all the meat for us, and quickly refilled our banchan whenever we requested more. He also changed out the grill several times once it started getting too dark. One funny moment was when our stove flame wasn't working properly and it was held down with a rock to keep it going. But hey, whatever works as long as the meat gets cooked! We originally thought the three-meat combo might not be enough for four people, but we were completely wrong. The portions were incredibly generous, and we couldn't even finish everything. We were so full that we didn't eat dinner that night. The table next to us was celebrating a birthday, and the restaurant even played a fun birthday song over the speakers. We decided to try this place because we always see it packed. And wow was this place amazing! First, it is not an all you can eat KKBQ place, which my wife and I love. The service was really fast and the staff was super nice! It felt like a family owned place. My wife is also pregnant and she really chatted it up with the staff. Second, the quality of the food was high!! They gave a lot of side dishes and refilled whenever we asked. The meat combo was a lot of food!! And the quality of meat was super good. Lastly the place was clean and packed!! There was a lot of people waiting when we got there, luckily we were just two and got seated. This place was such a nice find and surprise how good it was. Although they have a plethora of other dishes you can order. My family ordered the set menu so we had 3 cuts of high quality meat, side dishes, and army stew which kept us nice and full after. They will cook the meat for you generally so don't fret if you're not an expert griller. If you come for lunch, they have lunch box options which is also a nice option. Arrived as a party of 3 with medium appetite and ordered 3 meats a la carte: brisket, boneless prime rib and beef belly. Korean lady server was super nice and gave us steamed egg on the house. Ban chan arrived first and each one fantastic. Kimchi and pickled perilla leaf was my favorite. There is another male server that just gave us very bad vibes. Similar experience to another review - he almost angrily told us to move all side dishes to one side so there is room for the meat even though that is how it was served. He walks around the restaurant like a dark cloud exuding negative energy. Aside from that server, we enjoyed our meal. If it wasnt for him I would give 5 stars. All other staff we interacted with were very accommodating. Yellow cow is amazing!! I was hesitant to try this spot because it's not all you can't eat, (I like to eat a lot of Korean bbq when I go out). You get plenty of food. I went with my date and we did the 2 person meal with prime brisket and beef bulgogi, both meats were delicious! The sides you get were my favorite part and they all pair perfectly with your meat. We also got a free hot sake with our combo. The service here is top tier. The staff walk around, cook your food, change your grill, and make sure you have everything you need. This is a high end Korean bbq place and it's fun! You will have a hard time returning to any other Korean bbq place after having this one. It's more on the pricier side but for a good reason. Simple points here to hit the most important points. Food quality: this place has really good banchan, especially for a kbbq restaurant which usually sticks to the basics. Their meat is also fresh, I had the duck roast and the meat just melted in my mouth. Their stew however (I got the bean curd stew) left a bit to be desired, taste a bit too bland, and definitely a pathetic amount for the price tag ($20 a bowl?). They have a variety of combos and a la carte menu items. We decided to go a la carte and get their brisket, black pork belly, and a side of steamed egg. The brisket was solid. Nicely cut. No friable edges that cheaper cuts tend to have. The black pork belly was really flavorful. It's one of my favorite types of pork belly. The steamed egg was surprisingly large so I'd definitely get this again. Compared to what I'd usually see, their steamed egg was probably 30-50% bigger lol They cook the meat for you too which is always a nice added touch. $115 for Combo 1 -- advertised as serving two people. After tax and tip, the total came out to about $140. I'm not familiar with their local competitors in Gardena, but giving this spot 3 stars feels generous considering the overpriced menu relative to both portion size and quality. Today's Combo 1 experience should have been no more than $50 with tax. I walked out feeling like I overpaid by about $90. I do not recommend this place for Korean BBQ and won't be returning for that. They do serve other Korean entrées that might be worth trying, but the BBQ selection was a disappointment. I essentially paid $70 per person -- one adult (me) and one 10-year-old child. While we left full, it wasn't because of the meat portions. The servings were small and wouldn't satisfy two adults expecting a proper Korean BBQ meal. The pork (samgyeopsal) was among the worst I've had -- thin, tough, and lacking flavor. On the positive side, the restaurant had a lively dinner atmosphere, clean bathrooms, and about a dozen tasty side dishes (banchan). read more

We had a party of 6 (two kids) and we ordered the 3 meat + 1 seafood + 1 soup (with 3 upgraded meat options). We also ordered two rice, and an extra steamed egg. We were told that we could replace the seafood with a meat so we did that. We ordered, and one of the staff came by with the sauces and side dishes. It started going downhill from there. A second server comes by and noticing the full table, angrily moves the sauces on one side of the table closer to the center / further away from the side he was at. I think he was in a hurry, because as he was picking up the sauces, the sauces splashed over his fingers and the table. Then he proceeds to tell us to keep that side of the table clear because that's where the meat will go. Keep in mind we have not touched the contents of the table since the first server came. Alright whatever, restaurant was packed and I'm still looking forward to the meat. I go around filling up all the water cups, and we manage to empty the pitcher, so I put it aside so that they could refill it for us. A server comes, sees it's empty, and takes it. Awesome, we'll get more water soon. We never see the water pitcher again for the night (we probably should have said something but with kids things got a bit hectic). The meat arrives (within reasonable time) and I could tell this amount of meat wasn't going to be enough. And maybe this is our fault really, but I would expect for the amount we paid, I would have expected a bit more (190 for the base combo price). For each meat round, the servers would put the meat on the grill, and we'd see them at most once more. Because they'd rarely come by, the meat got crispy before we realized we'd need to cook ourselves. They were super busy being the weekend, but I'd imagine a place like this would realize that on the weekend you'd need more staff because that's usually when people go out. The steamed eggs we got were one of the "runnier" steamed eggs I've seen in a while. It tasted ok, but steamed eggs are usually fluffy and soft. These steamed eggs were deflated and watery. The soup amount felt like a joke. I thought splitting it four ways with 4 scoops each should be enough (supposedly spicy and kids can't eat that). Let's just say the first one got the full 4 scoops, then for each subsequent bowl the scoop went down by one. Now that's the food but what else? Well when you're cooking meat on a grill, it causes smoke. But that's okay, because the venting fan should handle that. Except there's no working venting fan anywhere in the restaurant. We were also lucky enough to be by the open door, so we got all the smoke. By the end of the night my family left hungry (not content or full) so we ended up getting boba to compensate. I wish I could say I'd be willing to try this place again, but the experience was so terrible I'll probably never come back. read more

The Food was great...as advertised...Social Media & a friend of my sister's recommended this spot...I arrived & put my name on the wait list outside of the door...I am 3rd on the list (table for TWO)...there was a gentleman that would come out to check the list & call people in...I watched no less than 4 FAMILIES walk in ahead of us...the gentleman finally calls my name (20 minutes into waiting) looks at me...then says he needs to make sure the table is ready...20 minutes later the table was ready...but not before I watched two young ladies drive into the parking lot...park their car...walk in & was IMMEDIATELY seated...we were sat under the TV & closest to the bathroom...we were made to wait order for so long that another waiter had to recognize that we had been seated for too long to not have ordered...the food was great...& I would recommend Yellow Cow except you can't be a Melanated person and expect to be treated equally read more

Monica (the owner and who you'll see sometimes helping with the grill) really cares about the food she serves. She has so many different kinds of side dishes that are all so tasty and she changes some of them out depending on the season. It's not ayce, but they do have lunch specials or bento boxes that are lower in price. Otherwise their combos for grilled meat range from $115-225. And you can choose the types of Meat for your combos which I really appreciate. I love the black pork belly (extra charge but so worth), beef belly, beef prime boneless rib(extra charge and my fav cut) and kalbi. It may be pricey, but not really in this economy, and the quality is unmatched. Hot take, but there is no kbbq spot that has better quality meat in South Bay. Cold buckwheat noodles and spicy buckwheat noodles perfectly complement the meat. The pork belly fried rice also good. They serve beer and soju. read more

I was so excited based on the reviews but left so disappointed with the service, you can tell they were understaffed and our waiter left so many times I was confused if she was supposed to cook or we were. We sat for maybe 30 minutes before anyone even came to our table to order. At one point our meat even got burnt bc our waiter left for so long with our stove on high heat and another server scolded our waiter in front of us bc of it. I'm a local and I've been searching for a Korean BBQ joint to be a part of my regular rotation of restaurants in the South Bay Area. It's been a challenge to find a consistently enjoyable spot outside of K-Town. For a time, it was Baekjeong, but the service and quality of food there were inconsistent. Then it was Gen Korean BBQ but the service there is atrocious. Been to Moon, Shilla, and Bull BBQ. None of these places made me want to go back again. With that in mind, I tried Yellow Cow yesterday for the first time for lunch. Got a craving for Korean BBQ and didn't feel like driving very far. I wouldn't have found this place if it wasn't for yelp. It's tucked away in a strip mall far from view of Redondo Beach Blvd. I'm not sure if this was because I went there when there were only two other customers in the restaurant, but the service here was really good. The server was personable and attentive. The place was clean and well maintained. We ordered the 2 meat set for two and ordered the brisket and marinated short ribs. The combo comes with a lot of stuff. The banchan was fantastic. I loved the potato salad. If a Korean BBQ restaurant can't nail the potato salad or doesn't offer it at all, it's a good sign the overall experience is going to be sub par. The steamed egg was good. The ramen was okay. The noodles tasted like instant noodles to me. The meats were very tasty. I particularly liked the brisket. The marinated short ribs tasted a little too soy saucy for my taste but they were tender and delicious none the less. A couple of things to note about this place. One is that for the quality of the food you are getting, it is on the pricier side. Two, you can pay up front instead of waiting for the server to bring you the check. Saw a customer do this and thought it was great. Once I'm done eating, I just want to leave immediately. I'm coming back to this place in the next couple of weeks. If you have a larger group, I would highly recommend making a reservation, and even if you have a reservation, you might end up waiting for 20 minutes or so during the busiest times, like Saturday nights. If you are sensitive to BBQ smoke, I would let them know. Not all tables have a vent. Beware they give a lot of food, so you can easily over order. That's not the end of the world, though, because then you can take home leftovers! We often order the beef combos, but I've had the seafood and that's good, too. Not just your typical but a lot of different amazing selection including one made with nectarines. The soybean paste soup - Doenjang Guk is my favorite here; the steamed egg the best I've ever had and both were delicious and comforting. We ordered the set for two but as you can see by all the photos we had enough food for three. The meat was delicious and I love the sauces that it was served with as well as the sliced radish, sesame leaf and soy wrap paper. In addition you have your choice of two sodas, two Soju or two beer. Overall it was great service, ambience and the food was outstanding ! And though I may be Caucasian (but I eat a lot of Korean food) I went with two of my Korean friends who also said it was their favorite place!
